Great place to go for drinks. James was very attentive and helpful! Amazing customer service all the way through. :))))

We were here for supper the night the Celtic was playing a Champions League game. It was a blast!! The burgers are amazing, prices fair, service wonderful and atmosphere exciting.

We visited on a midweek evening and discovered that the pub had quite a good range of locally produced real ales. The cost of a pint is fine too for a city centre location. It was also nice that they had a couple of live football matches on TV.

Went in with family and my husband who uses a wheelchair. The place states it has a wheelchair lift to the door. However this is only large enough for a manual wheelchair. The venue has a disabled toilet but the tables are tightly packed and so as my husband luckily is ambulant and able to walk to the table, staff said we could leave his chair and they'd watch it for us. I luckily came across his wheelchair being pushed out of the disabled toilet by a customer who had stolen it and was playing at being disabled. Apparently he had staff helping him in and out of the venue for a smoke using the wheelchair lift and everything. No one notified us. I asked staff when I spotted it being played with and they stated that they noticed my husbands chair was missing and that they were positive that the customer was playing with it. Pretending to be disabled. And yet no one notified us. It was a Saturday afternoon and there was 2 security on the door. I had to physically tip the guy out the chair to get it back, and we left straight away. Horrified that the pub let this happen. When we left the guy was still sitting at the table with his pals and drinks. Complained, and took a week to get a response, only to be told that the staff didn't notice and it wasn't their fault. Which is a lie they stated they were aware of the situation on the day and didn't know how to deal with it, when all they had to do was get security or even inform us!!!!!!!

As usual The Merchant staff were class, especially Eilidh who was amazing & did a great job putting up with us all :). She really went the extra mile & offered great service throughout the night, thank you!

Came in for a bite to eat before heading out for the day while visiting Glasgow. We were served by Jamie who was lovely. We had the all day breakfast which really hit the spot! Even came back in the day after and once again, the staff were great. The bartender (from Dundee, same as me) who served us was really chatty. Great drink selection as well!

Right in the city centre, this pub was quieter than we expected but had no complaints about choosing it for lunch. Our meals, from a pretty good pub food menu were very good. My wife had Ultimate chicken tikka and I had Katsu chicken. Large helpings and good value for money. Good selection of beers and friendly service. Would return without hesitation.

I honestly cannot put into words how bad this food was! No high expectations given the price but there’s cheap n cheerful and then there’s cheap n nasty! Plates missing half the items, greasy, overcooked - avoid!!!!
