Lovely afternoon tea at the Glasshouse. Delicious food, very attentive staff and lovely location. The blackcurrant panna cotta was exceptional. Highly recommend for afternoon tea.

Excellent venue and very friendly and professional staff . They make each customer feel special and give attention to their needs , we have been there in evening dinners, special dinner like on Valentine’s Day . Or even afternoon high tea We always loved to go there . Being vegetarian and special needs for food , never a problem for this very helpful staff Highly recommend, very reasonable price

Had the most amazing roast at the Glasshouse on Sunday. The staff were extremely accommodating and made us feel welcomed and not forgotten about. We both had tempura and the Sunday roast and I can safely say it did not disappoint. It came out very fast and we were not left waiting for ages. The presentation, flavour and portion sizes were unmatched. If you are looking somewhere to go I would highly recommend the Glasshouse at Rowallan.

Friday night steak deal x4, never disappoints, the peppercorn sauce was sublime, tried a new wine suggested by the extremely knowledgeable assistant manager a Neo Davolo stunning. Cant wait for our next visit.

What can I say! Just gets better and better! Visited for lunch today and from start to finish the experience was wonderful. The service and attention to detail was second to none, the guys serving were very attentive and absolutely knew their stuff I have to say. The food was over and above delicious and we left feeling very satisfied with price, quality & service. Thank you guys for making a lunch with my brother so special x oh and the cheese board was the best I’ve ever had and already looking forward to my next visit.

We were there as a birthday treat for afternoon tea. Lovely welcome on arrival and straight to our table in the glasshouse. Waitress brought water and asked for our order. We had to ask if this was for tea choice. Food arrived then our tea. We were advised what the sandwiches were. The Glasshouse was stifling hot and very very uncomfortable. Ate our sandwiches and sausage roll and they were lovely. I had to put my pocket fan on the table as I was dripping with sweat due to the heat and felt fatigued and very uncomfortable. One coronation chicken sandwich had one piece of chicken in it. Ate our scones and they were lovely. Went for the cakes and the fillings in the meringue and panna cotta were liquid. We didn't try the other two cakes as the liquid panna cotta had made us feel a bit queasy. No one checked if we were OK or wanted more drinks. We left as we were being invaded by two wasps plus I was soaked through with sweat from the heat and had had enough. No fans or air conditioning just the back door was open where we were seated. Two other tables of guests were also complaining about the heat to us when we were there but staff were nowhere to be seen. Went to pay and had to hunt someone down to do so. We weren't asked about or experience so let the lady know about the melted food, inability to eat the remaining cakes and wasps, plus the stifling heat. She never apologised or offered to resolve the issue - we are very very disappointed. Still waiting on a reply from the Glasshouse after 8 days after contacting them, but nothing has been issued yet.

My friend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Glasshouse. I loved my salmon salad, which had plenty of salmon and a flavoursome dressing. The service was excellent and we were very well looked after by everyone that worked there, never needing to wait long. After our wonderful lunch, the sun came out and we sat outside with perfectly made cocktails and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the restaurant. I would highly recommend visiting the restaurant to anyone in the area.

Beautiful location set in the historic grounds of Rowallan Castle. Was looking forward to good meal with friends. Unfortunately there was a very loud, large family birthday gathering sat adjacent to us who got louder... This made it unpleasant as we had delay in receiving our meal and found it difficult to speak with each other. With hindsight, we should have asked for a quieter table outwith the main Glasshouse or serving staff could have offered us an option. Service took 40 minutes to receive. The Sunday Roast beef dinner was high quality, flavoursome and really enjoyable. However, the beef served was very rare which did not suit us all. The waiter had not asked us our preference for the beef. There was no horseradish sauce served despite it being on shown on the menu. Got this later when I went to ask for it. For dessert there is a menu choice of 3. Had opted for the strawberry panacotta with shortbread biscuits. The biscuits were exceptional. Personally I found the panacotta mediocre and the gel topping overly dense. We moved to a quieter area to finish drinks. The female waitress, Kirsty, was very helpful, understanding and kindly took a group photograph of us. Her interactions helped offset what had been a disappointing experience having travelled several hundred miles to return to my hometown. Recommendations: 1. Check if there are any large gatherings booked at the time you are booking. 2. If sat next to a loud group, ask to be reseated in a quieter location. 3. Be specific about how you like your food cooked. 4. If items shown on the menu fail to appear, ask staff as soon as possible.

Another wonderful meal at The Glasshouse it never disappoints, delicious food and such lovely surroundings overlooking the golf course would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

I’d just like to say our experience was fantastic from start to finish. We came to this restaurant in the most stunning setting after driving past the castle multiple times not really knowing it had such a gem inside! Despite it being an unusually quiet evening in the restaurant, the staff really went above and beyond to make our experience a special and enjoyable one. I have to say they really went the extra mile and it was some of the best service I’ve had in a long while. The food was very nice as were the drinks and it seems they have lots in the pipeline including Saturday bbqs and a new and improved wine list. Based on our evening alone we most definitely will be back sooner rather than later.

Second visit in a few weeks. The first was an afternoon tea to celebrate an 80th birthday. Outstanding service and delicious afternoon tea. The whole party was very impressed. Today was lunch and was just as delicious. Lovely atmosphere and wonderful polite staff. Highly recommend for a lazy lunch in beautiful surroundings.

We decided to go for the one day special of tempura sharing platter followed by steak and wine deal (£32pp) and it was excellent! Beautiful surroundings, amazing food and exceptional service. We’ve been before and we will be back. Stunning.

Visited here for afternoon tea with a group of 12 friends. The setting is beautiful and the weather was kind. We had a wonderful time. The food was well presented and the flavours were lovely. The staff kept us topped up with plenty of tea!! Aidan and George provided a friendly and efficient service. This was not our first visit and it will not be our last.

Very disappointed in the quality and portions. Roast dinner beef was tough , two dry roast potatoes per person??? Small portions of veg too. Childrens menu all individually priced. Child’s burger, bun and fries £9.45 ( really ) . We were given a £12 rebate, but we wanted a decent meal and a fair priced childrens menu . Sorry won’t be back or recommend

A lovely lunch in a truly beautiful spot in Ayrshire. All staff went above and beyond. My only feedback,please if you provide full hand sanitation fill up and make available. With a near table where the poor lady coughed through her lunch I had to exit and retrieve hand sanitizer .

Great restaurant the food was excellent . We were there for. A weeding Fair Rowallan castle is beautiful therefore my son is getting married there next year . The Glasshouse was something special for Sunday lunch

Went for afternoon tea. No designated disabled parking was told on phone to park at the back. On entry girl came eventually and said table up here pointed to it and disappeared. I had to move quite a heavy chair to allow access for husbands wheelchair which wasnt easy as i am elderly lady. Tea and coffee ordered and was asked if i needed milk for tea and asked for brown sugar to be told they don’t have that. What was that all about ridiculous. Afternoon tea was very average. Scones already had jam and cream running everywhere. Sandwiches very poor. Cake’s definitely average. Young man was very pleasant but girl needs some lessons on hospitality. Will be go back definitely not

As always a great experience at the glasshouse with the wonderful Adam running front of house as impeccably as he does. I always take my mum and brother for lunch when I’m up from down South and as usual the food and all round experience was totally top notch. Visited this restaurant again after a previous successful lunch. We were met by Adam who was so friendly and attentive during our visit. He is a charmer and great at what he does. While we were there, he was looking after the whole restaurant on his own. What a guy. He is a great ambassador for the company. Big shout to the kitchen brigade for the high standard of food. Great atmosphere and a wonderful location. A must visit when in the area. Will be back for sure.

Decided to take my son’s girlfriend to The Glasshouse for lunch as she has never been. We arrived bank holiday Monday and decided to chance getting table outside although had not booked. We arrived and one of the girls said would check if availability, she returned with another girl and they said could accommodate the 3 of us outside. We were given choice of tables with and without parasol and in and out of the sun. I haven’t been for a few months as usually visit with my friend for afternoon tea, however the food we all had was amazing. Everything was freshly cooked the burger was delicious one of the best she had and my blt with fries was delicious as was the steak and fries my son had. Could not fault the helpfulness of the staff or the food. So much so she had decided she wants to return on Saturday to celebrate her 21st birthday as the food was so good. Thank you for accommodating us at such short notice.

We have been to the glasshouse on quite a few occasions now and have always experienced great service and wonderful food. Adam who was on duty was as attentive as ever, nothing was too much bother and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the venue. My mother who walks very slowly with the aid of a walker managed the short walk from the carpark with no bother at all.I feel that some of the reviewers of the glasshouse may have gone to another restaurant as some reviews are extremely vicious and in my humble opinion not true in my experience thus far. Ignore the negative Nancys and just go and experience for yourself I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Arranged to visit this restaurant along with Alister, Eddie, Robbie, Tony and myself. We were met by the wonderful Hannah. She was so friendly and attentive during our visit. She is a great ambassador for the company. Breakfast food was so tasty and plenty of it. Great value for money. The Glasshouse gives wonderful views of the estate. It is a worthwhile visit when in the area. We are all going back at the end of June.

The food is delicious. I never get to say that unless I’m at the Glasshouse. Staff very friendly and efficient. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Glasshouse. Also went there for a Christmas lunch, all delicious, from start to finish.

Absolutely terrible place to find, no disabled parking, parked car was very muddy to walk to the entry, on arrival walked in to find no one at reception found our own way to be met with someone saying its just on the right. Ordered a drink sat at table to be asked again what would you like to drink! Our reply was all ready ordered waited 15 min or so for our drink, then came the selection of finger buffet was awful never explained what the dishes was, fake cream all ready on scones so no choice there! Custard in a tiny glass could not even get the spoon to fit inside, absolutely appalling place will never be back 😡😡

Originally booked for an evening meal, phone to change to afternoon, 7 adults and 4 children was booked as 7 adults only. Arrived to be told ah yes the table of 10. Got another place set, restaurant was dark and freezing. No atmosphere, thought there would be crackers at least. Food was very disappointing, service atrocious, staff need to be trained on how to serve/look after customers, had to go looking for them on more than one occasion, only place I have ever been that I didn’t want to leave a tip! sorry but won’t be back

Visited here for the Friday night steak deal. Fantastic value for money, steak, hand cooked chips with all the trimmings and half a bottle of wine for £30 for 2 people!! The quality of the produce is excellent and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend the Glasshouse.

Asked for baby changing and Male staff member behind the bar said I could use womans locker room as it had a bed thing??! I assumed there was a unit.. no it genuinely was a pouffe in middle of the room! Definitely wouldnt return nor recommend this to anyone as its just so poor in these times to lack this facility!!

Lovely Sunday roast dinner special was two course for £14.95. Food was presented well and the red wine jus was to die for. Nice ambience in the restaurant. A little out of the way but it is a lovely setting. Will definitely be back.

First visit and most likely the last. One member of staff seems to think that it is ok to shout intrudtions the length of the entire restaurant. What's that about ,!!. Food was ok. Prawn salad on the small side for price and chicken tempura very greasy. Nicer places to eat in the area but surroundings pleasant enough.

Really nice place to meet friends for breakfast, coffee or lunch. Not been at nite but during day service, food + surroundings all good. Would recommend to anyone wanting a change from Troon, Ayr + Kilmarnock eateries.

Was taken hear for my Birthday was my 1st time.

This restaurant has a great reputation and a group of us (two couples) were really looking forward to spending a night here. It got off to a strange start when the nervous waitress completely forgot to give us food menus, and insisted we ordered wine before we even knew what was on offer (let alone what we wanted to eat). We forgave this clear case of nerves, and with a supervisor running around clearing up her repeated errors on all the tables, we eventually got our order taken. Even this wasn’t painless as the waitress forgot that one dish was off the menu (so he had to reorder and chose a special) but we settled in to some lovely starters.

My husband surprised me with dinner here tonight(saturday) on arrival we were asked if we would like a drink in the lounge as there was a large party of golfers having a prize giving. When it was over we were shown to our table,although there were quite a lot of the golfers still drinking in the restaurant. I must admit it was rather noisy,as they had obviously been drinking for some time. The menu although not extensive certainly has a varied selection,our starters took a wee while to arrive but were well worth the wait,and we were offered a complimentary drink due to this. Main courses were exceptional,my plaice was delicious and so light and fresh,my husband had the cajun burger which was massive with home made chips, onion ring side was fabulous all home made. Sadly we couldnt fit in a dessert as were just too full. Cant complain about the price or the service either. Just cant wait to go back.

Played a society day at the golf course and pre-ordered the food, I had Haggis Bon Bons and Home Made Steak Pie with Chips and Beans.

I seem to be having a lot of lunches with friends. We visited here on a lovely warm spring day. We sat outside behind the Glasshouse. Our lunch was excellent, hot and delicious. The service was punctual and friendly. The surrounding grounds and Golf Course are lovely. And you can view the Old Rowallan Castle from the driveway. It is not open to the public.

The Glass house is fine during the colder nights but can be very hot if we ever get a summer. The Staff are wonderful and the food was presented well and tasted great. Its not cheap and slightly out of the way but well worth a visit. Also played the course almost 5 hrs so was slightly hungary after the walk.

Fantastic lunch today, can't praise the place enough. Had the smoked venison which is excellent value for money, and tastes amazing, the dressed side salad is a nice touch, and chips. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the folded napkins were amazing.

So went for afternoon tea in the Glasshouse, on Monday 6/5 place was very nice ordered the afternoon and came with a selection of sandwiches and cakes which were very nice, it also came with 2 quiches the ham one was very dry not enjoyable at all, so next waiting on the tea coming, never came had to go and ask for the tea. The deserts had a smal vanilla posset had to ask the girl for teaspoons to eat it with we are still waiting for them, never came back with them. We had to use the teaspoon from the sugar and also the teaspoon from the tea. Asked for the bill and again had to wait for that. I did hear the young boy say they were short staffed, but the place wasn't too busy there we're empty tables. So the service from the girl was awful I expected better she just seemed to be going about in a daze, two of the empty tables hadn't even been cleared and they sat there like that for about 30 minutes . I will be going back only because I will be going to charity event, but the service let the place down.

If you are thinking of going think no longer and go. OK we didn't stay for a meal as we had arranged to meet our family later and just popped in for coffee after an enjoyable round of golf but what a little gem? I checked the food and drink selection for a potential visit next time we are up in Kilmarnock and was pleasantly surprised at the value. Personable and friendly team in comfortable surroundings

Tucked away in the stunning surroundings of Rowallan Castle Estate, this restaurant offers outstanding food from quality produce. As a vegetarian it takes a lot to impress me but the Pithivier with mash and veg is just stunning, such effort made for a vegetarian meal is so welcome. The flavours are delicious, this really is a stand out dish. My husband loved the chicken and haggis, presented beautifully and a good sized portion.

On the 19th of March I booked the Mother’s Day afternoon tea for myself, sister, mum and my son. We were all very excited as this was our first visit to the Glasshouse restaurant and we don’t often all get to spend time together.

Visited here a couple of times and it's lovely. Food is fresh and tasty, prices aren't too bad either. Honestly couldn't really fault here. You will enjoy your visit

very nice lunch in nice surroundings,not busy but would love to visit again in the Summer but have booked their Friday steak deal. Staff member very friendly and helpful
