Frydays in East Ayrshire

Have used Fridays quite often but have to say a delivery i got on Saturday evening was disappointing. The batter on the fish was a bit too thick and chewy and the chips were very dark as if they were previously cooked and then put back in the fryer, also the portion was full of crumbles so half were thrown out.

Fridays used to be good. Last night I went up for collection, Fish was tasteless and the batter was soggy. The chips were not fresh. Tasted like they had been fried hours prior. Won't be ordering from them again

Not the quickest service but usually worth the wait. Good menu and fair prices. One of Killie's best. deliveries and pre orders also available. No wheelchair access due to step. Small car park nearby.

Can't get anyone to answer the phone, maybe they have stopped delivering or are using just eat again .

A lovely wee shop with friendly front of house staff but........while the fish and chips weren't bad they weren't great either. It came awfully quick which makes me worry in a place like this. Way too much batter on the fish meant that it wasn't as hot through as it should be and that the batter was chewy and overly thick. The chips were decent but overall it felt like it was sat waiting to be boxed up (there was a lot already cooked, seemingly waiting on the hot tray for the dinner time rush) rather than cooked fresh. Maybe to do with the guy on the fryer only cooking with one hand while his other was holding his phone to his ear. Quite possible we were just unlucky as there are so many great reviews, it's just a shame that we didn't get the same experience as so many others.

Food is terrific and the staff are lovely. Parking is not bad as there is a bit near Frydays that you can park at. But recently that parking bit has been full with the winter wonderland event at Dean Castle. Other than that, the place is great, I highly recommend, and also its good to go to since The Plaice To Be is shut, maybe forever. Some people were saying the Plaice to be was coming back, but it hasn't, so maybe that was somewhere else, but it said Kilmarnock, and there only is one in Kilmarnock I think.

Really good chip shop. Fish was excellent.

Excellent food, would be 5 stars but I had to wait quite a long time.

Anytime we order a chippy it's always Frydays we use as the food has always been really good - until this evening! I usually order chicken fillets, which has always been fresh chicken breast in a nice light batter! Although it appears they may have run out of chicken and sent someone on a farmfoods run as they delivered something that resembled the birdseye southern fried breaded chicken steaks and was like mush inside! I hope this is not a permanent change to the chicken fillets!

Best chip shop in area, fast delivery, excellent service. Its always who i order from when want good chip shop dinner. You won't be disappointed I Promise. 5 star's.

Great black pudding supper a few times,then got a black pudding supper on the 9th December, and wasn't impressed,bottom of black pudding was burnt,chips and fritters soggy,wouldn't go back.

Friendly staff and great food, can sometimes have to wait, but not usually too long.

Just moved to Killie and I’m already on my 3rd fish supper from this fantastic place. Tried sausage supper also and the batter is crisp and great chips with plenty of them. Always busy so the food is always fresh. Staff are nice and helpful and easy parking

Ordered one of the munchie boxes, and a single steak pie, to feed both of us. Really struggled to finish. Food was lovely, freshly cooked, and massive portions. Would definitely recommend.

Canni beat a good fish supper, if you want a good one go here, the place is well organised

Complete joke. Ordered told be here 8.05pm. Then doesn't turn up. Phone told it was on its way. 40 mins later still not here. Phoned again and told delivered to wrong house. So have to wait even longer for my dinner. Then the cheek of the girl on the phone. Will never be near this place again. I will be telling everyone else to stay away from it. Joke of a take away.

Without doubt the cleanest, friendliest, and freshest take away shop I have purchased from in several years. Combined with the delicious food which is excellent value for money and the selection /variety of offers available for customers. Fast service, fresh food, lovely staff.

Had a delivery on friday 6th nov. Delicious fish not filleted into nothing thick lovely white fish great mushy peas cannot wait for my next treat
