Ayrshire Food Hub in East Ayrshire

Had a small breakfast with ny daughter this morning as she hasn't been before. Our sausages were pink, barely even warm and the bacon looked on the undercooked side too. Have had breakfast here many times and it's been lovely but a total let-down today. Didn't send it back as I couldn't have eaten anything else after that.

Lovely lunch here mushroom soup was a tad watery other than that very tasty

Try anywhere you want in Ayrshire, then come here and try the best.

Amazing food, homemade soups, cakes, oh the cakes are out of this world, best place for breakfast, lunch, high tea 100% love it and the staff are all so lovely too.

A regular haunt for breakfast and lunch - never disappoints. Went to the new ‘round the world’ evening - fabulous Italian meal this time. A really fantastic community- based restaurant place to eat and buy local produce.

Visited mainly for the shop which was expensive and disappointing. Dod not visit cafe as it was mobbed to assume the food is good

Went there today with friends,don't know what went wrong but the food was undercooked and cold,not up to there usual standard.

After driving past the food hub at least 15 times now on journeys to work I finally got the chance to stop off and try the food. It was absolutely 100% worth the visit! The food is absolutely AMAZING! The cheeseburger was delicious and filled with top quality beef and Arran cheese. The jacket potato (coronation chicken) was perfectly cooked and filled us up a treat. Friendly atmosphere and even though the cafe was pretty much full the staff all managed to make us feel welcome and not rushed. Can’t wait to go back again

Great find just south of Glasgow. This wonderful cafe/shop serves great locally sourced food and all monies made go towards community charities. There is a wonderful little arts/craft shop on the side selling local produce and unique items from jewelry, to jams, to scarfs to food. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and the whole place has a laid back family feel. Is worth reserving as they get busy and I imagine even more so as the weather gets warmer. There is also an outside area for the warmer weather. Well worth a visit.

I had a quick look in the farm shop and ended up buying some slice sausage, cooked it yesterday and it was delicious 😋

Went for breakfast, but pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. Wonderful little shop attached to the restaurant, selling assorted items, most of which is locally sourced.

As a regular to the East Ayrshire food hub, I've always been delighted by the quality of the food, it can hold its own against the best restaurants in and around Ayrshire. Very friendly staff and very affordable prices. Just had Christmas lunch, " traditional fayre", and was first class, starter and mains inc tea/coffee, came to £18 per person.

Great place to eat, food is excellent and made onsite. Worth checking their website, they do a superb high tea every second Thursday, but you have to book. Breakfast menu is also excellent. Has a deli type shop, well stocked.

Always good for a soup 'n' sandwich combo!

This was our second visit and it was even better than the first. Food choice was good, food quality very good and service friendly. Good quality drinks. Lot of marketing material out of date so that needs attention. Adjacent shop showcases local suppliers.

The ethos behind the Hub is fantastic. Always great service from friendly staff and tasty well prepared food from a coffee and cake to full plates of lovely and homely food. Farm shop attached which includes many locally produced wares and veg from the Hun garden. A great space with plenty of parking and outdoor seating for when the weather is decent.

Cafe food is absolutely exceptional. Farm shop with locally produced grass fed exceptional quality beef and lamb as well as loads of other quality things to buy.

Festive fashion show was fab. Nibbles and fizz provided too

Lovely tea and cakes with generous servings of both. Friendly staff checked for allergies. Cafe doesn't allow dogs inside, massive plus for me.

Dropped in for some breakfast with friends and it has to be the best in the area, food was delicious and reasonable value. Highly recommend. Still the best breakfast in the area.

Plenty parking. Despite being very busy, we were found a table and served really quickly. ( the only negative thing was it was a little noisy but then it was good to see people chatting and enjoying each others company! ) Food was tasty and we enjoyed a wander round the shop afterwards and purchased a mince round to take home( it was delicious too! )

Went to a craft market here. Was very squashed you could hardly move past the tables. The cake was wonderful. Will go back again

Had lunch here with two friends... my first visit and will definitely return.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch. Everything was freshly cooked and nicely presented. Generous portions so skip breakfast if you’re planning lunch! It’s very popular and therefore busy so be prepared to wait at peak times, but you won’t be disappointed.

Visited with friends for coffee ! Had booked a table but took ages for staff to notice we were waiting at door to get seated and had wrong time ! Slow to take order ! Varied menu ! Veggie breakfast options ! Price reasonable ! Toilets clean and working order ! Food good but service slow was busy could have been the reason x

Great place with lots of local produce. The cafe looks really good too. The monthly market which started today Feb 23 was well attended, very busy and had lots of craft stalls.

Four of us stopped for a visit and had a lovely breakfast. The full Scottish fry up was excellent. I returned later with my wife and her mother for lunch and a coffee and cake. The food is gorgeous, especially the cakes and scones. The breakfast was a couple of pounds dearer than Morrisons but certainly worth it, it's all local produce, and it supports a local community owned project. The service was quick and the staff are lovely. Ayrshire Food Hub is taking root deep within the agricultural heartland of the west of Scotland. Located just outside Hurlford, the Hub is home to our café , a development kitchen, meeting room, a growing garden, and our Ayrshire farm shop, which will also distribute fresh local produce online. Celebrating local producers, Ayrshire Food Hub supports local talent and shares fresh, vibrant food from Ayrshire whilst cutting food miles. Ayrshire food from Ayrshire folk. With our parent charity, Crossroads Community Hub, at the heart of the project, there will be new opportunities for everyone. Exercise, health, leisure, and learning activities all with local as the central focus. Plus, cooking classes for all ages, rural craft and gardening groups, fitness groups and kids’ classes. We want to create a dynamic hub of activity where community support and cultural activities can flourish.

Been today for the first time for breakfast. The quality of the produce was very high and overall the meal was outstanding. Will return again very soon. Probably the best full breakfast I've ever had.

We had a lovely lunch, with delicious soup and freshly made bread. The sandwiches were also really tasty. We also visited the shop and were delighted to see vegetables freshly picked and other foods made locally.

Beautiful restaurant. Staff very attentive and kind towards our children. My husband especially loved the jam and coconut sponge with custard. Will definitely be visiting again!

We had afternoon tea. It was delicious. A great selection of sandwiches and tray bakes and scones and a sweet. Everything was well presented and service was very good too.

Was just passing and saw the sign.Had fish and chips and the fish was melt in the mouth.Absolutely done to perfection.My wife had a burger of some sort which,again,was done to perfection.Service was good,quick and friendly.Bought some stuff from the farm shop on the way out as well.Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Gorgeous little place. Locally sourced products for breakfast and a really beautiful outside seating area amongst flowers and vegetables. You can hear the birds, watch cows in the next field and buy some local produce from the onsite farm shop.

We found this on our way north, stopping for a cup of tea. It was so good we stopped on our way south a week later for breakfast. Lovely staff, good food. It seems you might need to book if it's likely to be busy. The farm shop looked good too.

Visit on sunday for lunch, great food, friendly service and great coffee. Will be back.

First visit late afternoon on a Thursday. Closes at four, meal good, service also great and staff friendly. Have a farm shop there also, which has a wide variety of choice. Not too cheap, products look locally sourced. Always worth a visit.

My friend and I met up for breakfast and a catch up. We had a wee breakfast and an Ayrshire eggs, which is essentially eggs benedict. Beautifully presented, fabulous ingredients, best breakfast ever. I always like to try eggs benedict as its one of my favourites, and I like to compare different places providing the 'same ' item. I could find no fault with my food, and it was much nicer than anything I've had in some 5 star hotels, here in the UK and abroad, and nicer than some ive tried in Glasgow cafes which specialise in breakfasts. Staff didn't rush us out the door either like you would get in some places, even though it was busy. They do great lunches too, and the sop has some lovely Scottish produce.

Just had some lunch food was nice, But very over priced would not recommend as the half soup/sandwich sould be advertised as a child portion size .

First time there for coffee and a wee scone after walk. Lovely place and the scones were to die for. Will def be back.

We had been recommended to go here and booked a table. First impression was a really well set out cafe, with one way system and tables well spread out . Very nicely decorated for Christmas too. Then it went downhill. There seemed to be plenty of staff but the service was very slow . Some of our main course dirty plates were taken away eventually, but some left and no one came back for the rest. We had to call a waitress over to come and take our dessert order and collect the other dirty plates! Other tables seemed to be getting served relatively quickly and as I said plenty of staff around. The soup was ok and the ice cream nice, but I can safely say it was the worst Christmas turkey dinner I have ever had! It was on special at £10.95 so a reasonable price but the veg were tiny slices of sweet potato and tiny parsnip slices, both roasted until they were burnt. I showed the waitress a solid black rock that I couldn't even snap in two, she said she "would tell them" . There were also black balls which when peeled revealed a sprout inside. I don't know how they had been cooked but only the little bit inside was edible. The roast potatoes were so hard on the outside it was difficult to cut them. The turkey and stuffing were ok, but even one piece of turkey was burnt at the edge. I don't know what was going on in the kitchen , but whoever was in charge should never have sent out a meal like that! Did they think it was ok to send out food in such a condition? Another member from our table complained about the turkey dinner too, and was told the same as me, that she would tell them. No apologies from anyone, in fact the staff all seemed in a bad mood even though it wasn't too busy. It took a full 2 hours to be served our meal despite a note on the table saying it had to be vacated after 90 mins! None of us wanted to make a big fuss at the time as the person who recommended the cafe was feeling bad enough about it all. If someone had taken the trouble to come and speak to us about our complaints I wouldn't have felt the need to write this. I suffered bad stomach pains last night, I wonder why!! Being more positive, the little shop was very nice and the girl serving in there was very helpful.

Amazing setting, amazing food. Well worth the money and we'll worth a trip!
