Great lunch. Seafood linguine was excellent. Fantastic value for money. It was an Itison voucher , reduced menu, but great quality. Service was excellent , very efficient and attentive

Really enjoyed our overnight stay here in this beautiful Inn. We also enjoyed an evening meal in the bar and breakfast. Staff- we were welcomed by John who was friendly, efficient and very helpful with info about the local area. The staff in the evening and at breakfast were also super friendly and helpful . Food !!… I was shocked to read a couple of recent reviews as the food was faultless! Our evening meal was lovely, very tasty , well presented and value for money. There was equally a good choice of wine and other beverages. Breakfast was equally as tasty and delicious, we were definitely set up for the day . So thank you John and team we will definitely return when in the area .

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food really tasteless and unimaginative. Limited choice of vegetarian food. Seemed like it was just sloshed out of a pot that had been around for a while. No garnish either, 1 slice of soggy garlic bread already half submerged in sauce instead of on a side plate. Child's meal dull with very little sauce. What a pity as could have been so much better as pub looked nice. I actually feel quite ill now

Lovely warm welcome, attentive service. Good menu choice which the 6 of us ordered a wide variety of. Jess our waitress was knowledgeable and helped with our selections. Good recommendations for lasagna which was authentic and delicious. Great wine selection of Sauv and Viognier. We then moved onto Cocktails made by Alex on the bar which were fresh and strong just how I like them. All round lovely evening, Thanks again for a nice night, We will return.

I will be diplomatic here. This has to be the worst lunch I've had, in what is meant to be a good venue. The lunch menu was minimal, with very small portions, the presentation was also very poor. The young lady taking the order tried telling me to go for the macaroni. She knew something I didn't. I ordered steak pie, it came with chips (typical) and peas. My suggestion is that if you are going to advertise lunch, please don't insult your guests. Very poor and bland.

Brilliant place to stay and eat. We were greeted by a very helpful and charming young lady Sophie. She quickly and professionally booked us in and showed us to he room. The room was beautiful presented and was not only clean but very comfortable. Dinner was superb. The best Hake fish dish I've had. Breakfast was top notch. Jill who served us in the evening and at breakfast couldn't have been better. The owners of the Inn are lucky to have someone of that calibre working front of house. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this atmospheric and welcoming Inn.

Two burgers and a bottle of wine for £30. Bargain!! We had a classic burger and a vegan burger which came with fries and red slaw. Both delicious. Service was excellent and the atmosphere in the bar was quite lively with a mix of local people and hotel residents. If only we lived closer!

We have had our second visit today for lunch and cannot rate it highly enough. Such a warm welcome from all the staff and owner. The food was delicious and the service was excellent from our friendly waiter. Hubby had the burger which was soo tasty and definitely home made. Massive thumbs up to the chef and his team. Travelled down with my hubby to use our itison gift voucher. Although having booked our table they didn't have our booking and were given a table away through the back of the restaurant completely isolated and quite cold. We were promptly told the two courses were to contain a main and a sweet (not a starter) as we asked for soup to heat us up and don't like sweets. Maybe they cd in future try and get the customers name right - very unprofessional. All in all we were in and out in abt 45mins. Not a good dining experience. J and A Plenderleith

We stayed here for two nights this week. On arrival we received a marvellous Scottish welcome. Our rooms were very clean and very comfortable. We dined in a very comfortable dining/bar area with great service and lovely food. Breakfast each morning was superb with freshly cooked bacon and eggs. The overall experience during our two night stay was great and excellent value for money. We will have a return visit later in the year. Thank you to all the staff in the Old Aberlady Inn.

Really enjoyed our two night stay in this charming inn situated in the historical and picturesque village of Aberlady. Accommodation was more than adequate and food was of a good standard . The staff were very hospitable and solicitous and Jill the head of house was very welcoming and dealt with our needs in a pleasant attentive fashion. We would definitely recommend The Old Aberlady Inn to our family and friends .

Lovely, traditional inn - warm and welcoming with attentive owners. Our meal of tempura prawns, local sausages with mash and the baked hake were all delicious.

Had an Itison voucher to use up and I have to say it was excellent value for the portions and quality of food we both received. The place is very tastefully decorated and service was very friendly and helpful. Only slight negative was we waited a bit longer than usual for the food and struggled to get the young man's attention a couple of times but there were a few tables in and it was certainly not quiet at 2pm on a Monday. We couldn't see a specials board where we were sat and would've been nice to know what was on it but my Chicken burger was tasty, with plenty salad and chips too. Mums 84 and doesn't eat that much but she had very nice soup with sandwiches and salad and pretty much finished her plate. We had 2 courses on our deal but no room for dessert so I asked if they could box them up which they did with cream for the lovely cheesecake as well. Very Impressed and would definitely return again as will my mum with other friends/family. Very friendly/attentive staff helped no end. Wasn't drinking but cocktail menu looked really good.What's not to like.

A warm welcome from all the staff & owner. We had a family room to accommodate myself, husband, teenage son & dog. Spacious room, clean & drink making facilities. Our dog wasn’t forgotten, private ding a bed, treats & a bowl. Dogs welcome in breakfast room & bar on a lead.

The dining experience here is consistently excellent. The vegetarian options are delicious....the goat cheese and beetroot starter was first rate, followed by a vegetarian burger beautifully made with various beans and herbs....very tasty. Great sides of coleslaw and hot crisp chips too. The staff are friendly, efficient, cheerful and professional and always make sure everything is as you require it.

The food at "Old Aberlady Inn" was really good. They had Scottish dishes like stews and fresh seafood that tasted great. The place had a cool, old-style vibe. Even though the menu wasn't huge, the food was tasty and felt authentic. I enjoyed it a lot.

I had a puncture after hitting a pothole on a country road 1 mile from Aberlady in the dark on Sunday 19th Nov. 2023. I was able to drive into Aberlady and park outside the Old Aberlady Inn where the owner provided excellent service to help me talk to the AA breakdown service - not too easy if you don't have a good mobile signal. The owner let me use their ipad and landline. They were serving customers and taking calls for bookings. To us he was like a Good Samaritan. Once we contacted the AA they arrived promptly and put the spare wheel onto the car. The Inn was so welcoming that we decided to have drinks and food at the Inn and this was excellent especially in the warm comfortable surroundings. The Inn looks small from the outside but is like a Tardis inside plus a large garden. The log fire was most welcome and warming. It was clear that the Inn was frequented by many of the local residents. They also have guest rooms if you want to stay overnight. We will return.

We spent 2 nights here and had 1 early evening tea in the restaurant which was beautiful I had the Inn Burger with fresh French fries and my partner had the Inn lasagne which was absolutely perfect. Both mornings our breakfast was fresh well cooked and the staff where so friendly. 17 miles away from Edinburgh so ideal place to stay if you are visiting the capital. The owners John and Michael are so friendly and icing on the cake is Dogs are welcome.

Absolutely brilliant lunch regarding service and food. Have been using Itison vouchers and staff don’t treat this any differently as other places tend to do. Great portions. The individual steak pies were delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was a large portion with plenty of toffee sauce and ice cream. I always have the house white which is lovely and cold and good quality. Will use the Itison vouchers as long as available but will return on way to Dunbar.

We went to the Old Aberlady Inn tonight, we had purchased a voucher from itison to use. We were unsure what to expect as we had never been before, however the menu for the deal had a great selection of food on offer. For starter I the Camembert, wife had prawns and for our mains I had a burger and my wife a steak. The food was delicious, simply delicious. On top of this the service was excellent and there was a warming and welcoming atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Our server was delightful, well informed and enthusiastic, however, the kitchen seemed not to be able to follow their instructions. So many things were incorrect it was almost funny - but as we were trying to determine which of the orders was gluten free it wasn't terribly reassuring. The server made good and didn't charge us for the (incorrect) soup but it was a shame - they were clearly doing their very best!

Never been to this area before but what a lovely surprise. Our room was warm and cosy and spotlessly clean. Our abiding memory of Aberlady will be the friendliness and efficiency of all the staff. Alex and Ben were delightful waiters and made our evening very special. We go to so many places where its's difficult to get any repartee from the staff but these two were great. Look forward to our next stay.

Just had a late lunch here, really impressed! Pleasant surroundings, the 2 young guys serving front of house , were so pleasant , chatty and polite . I had mushroom carbonara which was so well cooked , really flavoursome . My partner had homemade steak pie which he said was fantastic. All In all a really great experience, will definitely be back , and I would definitely recommend

A great pub/restaurant full of character with 3 different areas inside and a very private beer garden to the rear. We arrived about 4.30pm on a sunny Wednesday and sat outside in the beer garden. There is a lunch menu available until 5pm with the main dinner menu on offer from 5pm onwards. We were hungry and in a bit of a rush so were happy to order from the lunch menu. Kidding myself that I’m healthy I joined my wife in ordering the chicken & bacon Caesar salad……,,but couldn’t stop myself also ordering the haggis bon bons starter to be brought out at the same time! The meal was great-very tasty and well presented and good sized portions. Very reasonable priced being an added bonus. Friendly staff, tasty food and overall a really good experience. Would definitely return when next in the area and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We pre booked the Old Aberlady Inn sometime ago for a weeks bed and breakfast as we were playing golf in the area. We found the owners and the staff to be exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. All worked hard to make the stay appear effortless and always with a smile. The food was first class and despite a number of other options in the Aberlady, Gullane and surrounding towns we were drawn back to the OA Inn for our evening meals most of the time. A bonus was live music in the bar on a Friday night. Our room was dog friendly, he was comfortable and so were we, it was well stocked with refreshments and a comfortable bed. The area is renowned for golf and you will certainly not be disappointed if you make the OA Inn your base for the holiday. Not to mention value for money as well in terms of board costs and the food prices. Will definitely be going back.

Enjoyed another lovely meal at Aberlady Inn. Service is superb and our food was delivered well presented and hot. Starter of fried Camembert was delicious as was my husband’s soup which was a large portion. We both had the chicken and haggis with pepper sauce. I am not really a fan of this sauce as usually too hot but the sauce here is perfect. Potatoes were tasty and green beans just right. House white wine was served chilled and is very nice. Will be returning soon with friends.

We could not fault our stay at aberlady. What a quaint little inn. For the price we paid the room was perfect…. Breakfast was more than ample and delicious. Dinner was good too. Staff were all friendly helpful and polite. We’d like to return.
