We were taking a self catering break, based in Portgordon, and had searched online, for a dog friendly restaurant - luckily, the Mill house came up. We had an excellent evening. A really dog-friendly establishment with great staff - We, and our Black and Tan KC Spaniel (Milo) were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Menue choice was good and all courses were tasty, good proportion, superbly prepared and presented.

Pretty disappointing dinner here. Came and ordered two steak baguettes, each costing almost £20. They came covered in a caremelised onion chutney and so much melted cheese and yet, were still so bland. Bad bread, bad steak, bad cheese. It came with a watery chimichurri sauce for dipping, which didn't really feel thought through with the rest of the dish. Won't be back.

Good food, freshly cooked, good, friendly unobtrusive service and a pleasant ambience. Bad weather prevented local small boats from fishing, so sadly no seafood, but a good menu nonetheless. Maybe some people should understand that if for any reason boats are not landing then this will be the case- no fault of the cafe.

I visited twice in December, and am a regular visitor to the cafe, but had 2 different experiences. The first visit was the Sunday before Christmas and it was no surprise that it was exceptionally busy but we were happy to wait. We waited for 45 minutes for a table and were glad to be in out of the cold. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and understanding, given how busy it was. We thought we re just going to have soup and maybe a sandwich but the table next to us had ordered and we got chatting as it looked tasty, so we ended up ordering the Mac and Cheese, the Avocado and Halloumi with Sourdough bread that they had, and tea. The lovely waitress was fun and came to see if we'd made the right choice once our order arrived. We had. The food arrived quite quickly given that the place was bursting at the seams and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. We took cakes to go as well. I paid the but later on thought it was a bit too much. Turned out I had been charged for the last occupants of the table as well as my own bill. I went back the next day and everything was remedied with ease, This was a very pleasant visit. Fast forward to Sat 4th January. Very small queue, not so busy as expected, 15 minute wait for table for 2 again. Sat down, waited 15 minutes for order to be taken, despite it not being busy inside. Tea and milkshake then came and we expected food would follow promptly, Unfortunately it didn't and we waited around 30 minutes for food, by which time tea was consumed. Order was baked potato with chicken, (think it was in lemon and mayo but can't quite remember) and the Halloumi Avocado Sourdough again. The Halloumi Sourdough was not as well presented as before, lacked Balsamic, and was just okay, but it took so long, I ate it. The Baked Potato was well cooked but the chicken inside was dry, rubbery and tasteless. My daughter pushed it around and eventually asked me to taste it and it was a dreadful consistency, not at all what we expect as everything is usually nice. She ate the potato as we had waited so long but left all the chicken. When I paid, I asked if I could give some feedback on the chicken and was told I could. To be clear, I will always highlight good service/food/practice when I see it, (the lovely waitress on the first visit mentioned above as an example) as people are all too quick to criticise, but on this occasion the chicken was not good. The lady at the till said she was sorry and had I sent it back. I explained that it hadn't been my dish and that when I did try it, the quality was very poor. I paid my full bill and went back to get my coat. As we left, I was made to feel really rather uncomfortable as the staff member pointed me out to the person I know to be part of the business/Manager, who clearly pointed me out and discussed me as I left! I would far rather they had spoken to me than make such a spectacle of pointing me out. Not subtle at all and I am disappointed as this is a place I like to eat at and then go to the Garden Centre too. I have bought some lovely, unusual Christmas items there over many years.

We called in here on our last visit to Peebles. A dog friendly cafeteria, it has indoor and outdoor seating and is accessed via an alleyway from the Main Street. I’ve not had a vegan scone for ages and this one was lovely, very tasty. The coffee is delicious too and the dog enjoyed her sausage. A regular spot now on our trips to Peebles.

Our first family visit to a Thai restaurant, the food was fantastic, very authentic. We shared a starter platter and then had main meals. All delicious. Service was friendly but as it was getting busy with walk ins and take aways they were often a little distracted. The garden area was beautiful and would definitely recommend booking a table out there for the evening. Remember in Thai time food is not a fast experience, one to relax and enjoy!

My husband and I were regular customers before lockdown and when it changed hands didn't feel it was the same but now it is back to what it used to be. We have had a few meals recently and have been very impressed. Very good keep it up. Staff very friendly.

Oh dear! This used to be a lovely place to eat. The current management leaves a lot to be desired. Staffing all very amateurish. Several items missing from the menu because "they were waiting for deliveries." Couldn't even remember to bring the requested water to table. Food perfectly acceptable but nothing very exciting although still relatively expensive. I notice that the accompanying photos on this site are from the days of previous ownership. Nothing like as cosy now. Not in a hurry to revisit.

We had the light and full breakfast. Both of us really enjoyed and found the portion sizes perfect. I had an iced coffee that wasn’t the best, maybe too watery but didn’t ruin the experience. Such a lovely view on to the grounds aswell. Our waiter had good banter aswell

Me and my partner went here for brunch first thoughts was it was a lovely place inside but after being seated and another table came we realised that no table was cleared of the last persons plates etc even tho some staff were doing nothing, however we would like to compliment the 2 hardworking young men preparing the food, after we ordered our food arrives and it is not the correct food that was ordered the person who came over with the food went back and brought us the right food whilst stating that we were in the wrong and said “it is your food “ even tho it was a completely different thing, my partner also wanted a scotch egg so ordered the ploughman’s platter that includes a scotch Egg it arrived without and we weren't told they had ran out on ordering it also never came with the cheese it stated on menu

Precioso café para el desayuno. . . la comida es genial. . .
