Plenty of parking. Not a hotel, despite the name. We were quickly given a choice of seats and settled o a cool corner of the outer dining area. The menu was quickly provided and drinks ordered. They have a lunchtime sandwich menu with a special for the day. I settled for the ploughman's combo with cream of mushroom - both very good. Prices were fair and the service excellent.

We stayed at The Mansefield Hotel during our visit to Elgin and also had dinner there several times. We already had a very positive impression when booking. Our contact via email and telephone was very helpful and friendly. Our room was one of the Superior Four Poster category and we really liked it. The hotel bar is very cozy and excellently equipped. The restaurant also has a very nice atmosphere and the food is excellent. We also visited the Mezzo Bar, which is attached to the hotel. Great cocktails are offered here. All employees are very friendly and accommodating. We can highly recommend the hotel!

My elderly father brought me here for lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised. Staff were friendly and polite, service was quick and staff were attentive. Food was delicious, hearty size portions. Very reasonably priced. When I visit a new restaurant, I always check the toilets and rate restaurant based on this, they were very good, clean, tidy & well stocked. I don’t live in the area however I will remember my visit & will aim to return one day. If you ever find yourself near Falkirk, I highly recommend you dine here.

This restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and the atmosphere was simply enchanting. The food was a culinary masterpiece, every dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, and the service was impeccable, making for an unforgettable dining experience.

When things go well it's very good - plenty of seating outside in the nice weather and there will be plenty space inside when (if?) they get they Saddle Room finished. However, when it is busy things can go downhill. Staff are pleasant but could be better organised and there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge. As a result it can often run out of things including beer and glasses (be prepared to get served in a plastic container if you are sitting outside at busy times). Booking is essential at peak times and the kitchen closes quite early.

I had initially gone for lunch to a different little cafe in Peebles down an alleyway and the soup was priced at £7.50! I saw it go by about to be served to a customer and it didn’t merit the high price so I crossed the road and saw the Tontine Hotel. Here it was so quiet and I went in and saw the beautiful Adam Dining room with traditional character, space and lovely views over the hills. I ordered the soup of the day, Carrot and coriander with a bread roll and it was thick and delicious. Only £5.50! I decided to order the Eggs Benedict too and there are various toppings but I chose Haggis. I have to say I was really impressed when the plate was placed in front of me!! It looked delicious and having cut into both eggs, each was perfectly cooked with a just right perfect runny yolk! See pics! The girls serving were very welcoming and pleasant. I’ll def go again and absolutely recommend. It’s a shame they have no menu outside as the dining room at lunch time had just me on a Tuesday at 1230! I had initially looked for a menu outside and there was none but thought I’d take the chance and go in. I mentioned it and the girl said there is a scannable app thing to check the menu. I’m fairly tech minded but I know a lot of elderly also visit Peebles in a day out. They wouldn’t think to scan it and check online and WiFi is pretty poor. Just a tip from me but I think an outside menu would increase your business and yummy offerings get the tastes buds working, and it’s well worth shouting about as it was delicious!

First day of holiday so wanted something quick and easy, having read other reviews we thought Smiffys was the place to be. The party had haddock and chips while myself and sister had chicken fillet burger and chips. Meal Super Hot (even though we had to travel a little way back home), plenty of chips and the burger was simply 👌🏼. Juicy, crispy and full of flavour. To make this raring a 5⭐️ is maybe look at adding a slice of tomato or a few strands of onion. Other than that highly recommend

I saw here doing a walk from Falkirk to Linlithgow. And found this hidden gem and stopped off for some drinks and soup to fuel us up. The restaurant is located right next to the canal with beautiful views the staff were friendly and helpful the food was slow to come out however we were in no hurry to move a we were stopping off for rest on this long walk. The food was good and prices were reasonable. I would return

1st visit to Karma Lake. Very impressed on arrival. Stunning location. The weather was not the best on the day so already planning a trip back in spring/summer. Food was tremendous 3 menus available on that particular day. A very impressive collection of whisky in the Malt Vault. I believe Karma have their own blended whisky too. Great service with friendly staff. We were told of summer BBQ'S & boat trips out to the Island on the Lake of Monteith. Will definitely be back for that.
