The Dutch Inn in Falkirk

The food was Great . The staf was polite and helpful. The place was brigth which was good for my dad who is nearly blind. Good for kids. Will be back.

This was a great spot for lunch with the family near The Kelpies. Our group of eight demolished five vast portions of haddock and chips. I happen to prefer the thinner, crispier chips they serve, but one of our party would have preferred fat traditional chips. A few had steak pies containing generous chunks of tender tasty steak. Desserts all round included several orders of salted caramel fudge cake, a few snowball sundaes and an Eton mess. Everyone was very well fed and happy.

Went in for a family gathering which had 23 of us. We had booked the back room so we could all be together. Ended up being in main bar with 2 separate tables. Completely ruined the atmosphere of our evening. The lady who I think was in charge was rude to us from the minute we went in. Felt we were pushed to leave. Staff stood at bar watching us and couldn't grab our plates quick enough. Only good point was the food they serve.

The Dutch Inn is an old favourite for the family but I haven't been for a while. OH and I turned 1.30pm on a Monday on a whim. On first glance, I thought we'd be lucky to get a table as it was busy but the waitress found a nice spot for 2. Just ordered one course but it arrived quickly. The breaded haddock that filled half the plate, was golden and piping hot. Dressing on the salad? Well I had to ask for the blend, delicious. OH bursting at the seams after the macaroni/chips with a side serving of cheesy garlic bread. DI never disappoints.

Gregor and his team have hospitality down to a fine art ,always something tasty on the menu at a competitive price means we return on a regular basis

It’s been a few years since I have been at the Dutch Inn and quite frankly I would think twice about going back. Apart from the server who took our drinks order, the other staff were not pleasant. As for the chicken curry, it was bland.

Bruschetta - bread was soggy and topping flavourless. The combo starter was obviously packet frozen breaded mushrooms crab sticks and onion rings. Possibly the worst rib eye steak I’ve had. Tough and tasteless - extremely disappointed. I have to say I complained about the steak and it was removed from my bill. Won’t be going back there again!

Four of us where there yesterday 17th February food absolutely fantastic large portions at excellent prices great atmosphere and friendly staff the restaurant was full to capacity that’s a great sign for the Dutch inn well done will definitely be back regularly thank you

Very good service, the meal was ok but please remove the Bruschetta from the starter as it s nothing like it should be. Bruschetta should be made with toasted bread rubbed with garlic, ( not smothered with butter ) tomatoes and olive oil with a topping of basil.

Excellent lunch. Soup and a good choice of panini. Very very tasty. Swift service by very nice young ladies. Would recommend 👍

I had melon to start with and the berries were still frozen. I also had the traditional turkey which was rather disappointing mush. Potatoes were hard. And roast potatoes were frozen not fresh. Sprouts were mushy. Carrots were a little hard also. Only thing I enjoyed was the cheesecake. Won’t be back.

Absolutely beautiful haddock mornay and childrens fish.Excellent service, quick, food hot and beautifully presented. Gluten free too.First class .

Recently visited this little place with my friend for lunch. Could not fault it start to finish. Friendly, welcoming start. We were given menus and received drinks quickly. Food came out after a short wait and was piping hot. Great portion sizes and very tasty! The puddings were amazing. We had a cheesecake aswell and one of the best cheesecakse I've had in a while. Will definitely be back. Great friendly staff they have and nothing seems to much effort.

Myself and girlfriend were at the Dutch inn for the first time, on arrive Donna the waitress was so helpful and polite. Service was first class and nothing was too much hassle if we asked for anything extra. Portion sizes were great food was lovely couldn’t fault anything. Went here for our date night and all I can say is we will definitely be back the food was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for better service, the restaurant is lovely and clean and we can’t wait to come back

A really friendly place for a lunch. Has a good menu with a wide choice and has friendly and helpful staff. Certainly popular and with good quality. Worth a visit.

Food very good and value for money. My complaint is the disabled toilets no vertical grips near wash hand basin or front of toilet one on back wall next to fold down grip no good at all

First time at the Dutch Inn and we had decided we would be back before we’d even finished our starters!! For starters we got the breaded mushrooms and the asparagus and parma ham, then for mains we got the balmoral burger and a fillet steak. All of the food was amazing, decent sized portions and the prices are great too. All of the staff were very friendly, we will be visiting the Dutch Inn again soon!

Unbelievable value and great quality / value for money I have never seen a salad so large. It was well scoffed and now a firm favourite on each return visit.

First time I have been since it reopened. We had a lovely lunch in relaxed surroundings. Service and food was great. Very reasonably priced. Definitely will be back for lunch or dinner.

Had a lovely meal at The Dutch Inn this evening. Great food and and friendly, efficient service. Good parking and the restaurant is well laid out in such a way that it's easy to manoeuvre a mobility walker through.

After booking a table at a specific part of the restaurant they seated us at the window. Exactly what I didn't want as it was unbearably hot. Other people came in and were able to sit where they wanted. Sticky table, not clean. We're told it was the varnish coming off. Shouldn't be in use then. Another couple came in and asked for drinks to sit outside table, their dirty table wasn't cleaned. Staff not very nice, wouldn't let us change tables, saying the other 12 empty tables were booked. All lies. You've lost an awful lot of money as we've been coming weekly for years, sometimes twice a week but we won't be back.

Had lunch here today was as usual great home cooked food I have frequently dined here over the years but since moving away don’t get to do it as much. Any chance we get to be in the area this is our place to eat. I’ve dropped a point as the atmosphere now let’s it down staff not to friendly they were not rude or anything but just no customer rapport. I would let this put me off going back as food is lovely and reasonably priced.

I have enjoyed food here before. We were unavoidably delayed for our reservation but despite it being busy we were still taken straight to our table, which we really appreciated.This time I had the tuna marie rose and vegetarian lasagne. The food was great, there was a lot of cheese on the lasagne so I used some for my chips! I love how the chicken maryland dish came with a banana and pineapple fritter.Overall great hot meals, particularly if you are looking for some well-made comfort food.

We eat at the Dutch In quite regularly as the food is tasty, menu extensive, service second to none and price reasonable. We have been for Christmas dinner twice before and it was most enjoyable, but I believe this was the best yet. There were 4 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. As usual, the service was very efficient despite the restaurant being very busy. It didn't cost the earth and we will gladly be back next year if we are at home.

Didn't even make it out the car! We were going to stop here for a meal, we had a trailer attached to our vehicle and encountered some problems that meant we had to immediately stop before we got into the car park to sort the trailer (jockey wheel fell down) however an extremely rude man came out straight away and started moaning that we couldn't stop there. My partner had barely got out of the car and he ran out to us, as we explained the situation he didn't seem concerned that we were customers and proceeded to ask us to turn around and leave. Seems very rude and uninviting. If we ever return I hope to make it out the car at least.

We always forget about the Dutch inn. It’s been almost a year since our last visit but dropped in for a meal and it didn’t disappoint. Homemade steak pie was great, portions were generous and great value. I found the staff were friendly and accommodating, we had our baby with us and the staff were interacting with him which is always nice. Really no complaints. Will be back again.

Just been for dinner, food excellent value for money, tasty, hot, nicely presented and decent portion. Greeted by a rude, miserable manager who grunted at us, name!!! then, in here or there!!! showed us to our table without making eye contact or an " enjoy your meal" staff were ok but not overly interactive but they should be following the managers example, need I say more. He should be sent on a customer service course cos I wouldn't want to work for him. It's 3 years since we last visited the Dutch Inn and he was the same then. Staff need a uniform it's all a bit shabby.

Dropped in on the way home for an early dinner. Service and food all to the normal standard but the prices seem to have increased since our last visit a few months ago.The fixed 3 course menu at just under £14.00 appears to be good value but there are other restaurants in the area doing the same thing cheaper. Still worth visiting if you are passing by.

I’ve been a few times now as it’s only five minutes from my house and I just love it. Basic pub food done well. Staff are always happy to serve you. Very reasonably priced which makes it easy to come regularly. Will be back again and again and again!

I was out for lunch with the family who decided to go to this restaurant. I hadn't been in a while as I wasnt impressed the last time I was here.

Booked a table for a meal arrived on time & shown to our table, food was fresh, well presented, tasty & good portions. Service was quick & efficient friendly.

During our visit we were waited upon by 5 different members of staff including the manager. Not one of them cracked a smile or made any conversation other that taking orders or presenting the meals to the table. Will not return!!

Pleasant atmosphere, although seated right at the back having to manoeuvre wheelchair all the way past lots of other customers. Food portions good, however had to switch meals to suit . Were also let down on desert even when one was saved then not provided.

We visited here for a family meal with four generations of our family for lunch . Almost all of the staff including senior manager were unwelcoming and unfriendly throughout . I booked explaining that we had four children in our party and there was no issue at that time . Shame because food was good enough and well priced . Glad to get out in the sunshine and feel some warmth on this beautiful September day . Very disappointed .

Have not been here for a long while and was most disappointed in the food and staff. The dining area has not changed in appearance at all but the attitude to customers has. The staff, were not smartly dressed, especially the chap from the bar who had on shabby black trousers, they were also very abrupt and hard to get a hold of if you needed anything.

Professional waiting staff and efficient service. My main of grilled salmon was good however the sticky toffee pudding had been reheated in the microwave and was so over cooked the sauce had burned and was virtually non existent.... this should have been spotted by the chef and/or his staff.

I visit Dutch in when visiting family and always get a good meal. The restaurant serves Scottish pub meals with a really good selection. Staff are friendly and attentive and even when busy will take time to talk or answer questions and you never feel rushed Food is delivered quick, fresh and hot and is good size without being too much. Set menus are always good value.

The Dutch Inn used to be good. We visited here last week and the only good thing were the starters. The macaroni cheese was tasteless and runny. I changed it for a salad, which was very cheap and not much better. I could have made better myself at home and certainly won't ever be back. It closes really early now at the weekends also. I used to work at its sister restaurant The Hollybank and the 2 eateries were always very popular as the food was really good. Very disappointing to see a good place going downhill like this.

Visited while in the area caravanning. Sunday lunch menu was great, we both had fillet steak with pepper sauce and all the trimmings. Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices very reasonable. I will definitely visit again and can't wait to try their a la carte menu which looks amazing.

We went here for a family members birthday.

We booked the Dutch Inn for my son in laws dad's funeral tea, and couldn't be more impressed. The soup was hot and very good, selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls cakes and biscuits was superb. Unlimited tea and coffee, and excellent compassionate service. I would certainly recommend this place 100%.
