Logan served us. What we wanted wasn’t on menus but he told us he would try make us what we asked for a mango margarita. He did and it was better than our usual. He also had great local knowledge and bar knowledge of drinks. The service was great we went in later and we’re greeted with good service and live music all in all a brilliant place to visit

Wee were in early afternoon so it was truly dead, but since all the good restaurants were full we had little choice. Food was ..... pretty poor to be honest. My chips were fine, they had run out of chicken, the cauliflower came straight out the fridge and was literally crunchy and raw. Just felt like the lowest quality of food. Cocktails seemed decent and service was fine.

Visiting St Andrews for the weekend and decided to watch the rugby here - did not regret our decision! The atmosphere was fantastic and although the bar was incredibly busy, the staff were attentive and took great care of us. We decided to get a portion of nachos to share whilst the game was on, arrived very quickly and hit the spot perfectly - will be back for another visit next time we're in town!

Popped in here while I had some time to kill, originally just came in for a coffee but after seeing one of the burgers being served I had to try! Coffee was lovely, smash burger was brilliant and Bridget’s service was warm and welcoming.

Great atmosphere and service. As well as some fantastic live acts on a Saturday night. 100% would recommend their Banana Bread Cocktail.

I absolutely loved the food here, the staff told me it was a new menu and I loved it!!! I gobbled the tacos up and my hubby got fish and chips. The server Bridget made me amazing cocktails (for a cheeky dessert) and was very skilled!!!!!! I was eyeing up buffalo chicken fries so will be back for some more (and to give the chef a big kiss). AMAZING

Un lugar curioso en el que según las horas del día se puede comer, beber, tomar el té o incluso bailar. Todo ello en el piso de arriba denominado "Club social". Nosotros éramos un grupo de 36 y la agencia había contratado un menú fijo. El entrante fue una tostada con setas por encima, con un resultado tan solo pasable. El plato principal fue contundente: dos gruesas salchichas con abundante pué de patatas. No hubo postre, pero pudimos tomar café y té a discreción en plan autoservicio. Recomendable si se quiere celebrar a buen precio una comida rápida en medio de un circuito por Escocia.

I am a tour guide and i have visited the restaurant with my spanish group. Jack and Davy have been lovely with us. Good service, good food and good everything. We will come back!

Came for some lunch, attentive staff, believe jack was his name? Good drinks and an incredible burger. Probably the best one I’ve had in St Andrews in a good while.

Amazing cocktails and service from Brea. Amzing atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back and next time we visit we will be getting food as well as cocktails.

Cat 5 star service and chat endearing. I’ll be honest, the Vic is cold as the heating is awful. However, the the staff; especially Cat are great.

The big Fact Hunt was top notch. 10/10 Would quiz again. Cat was the best bartender. Highly recommended...that you bring a jacket.

Attended the weekly Wednesday quiz, which is usually a joyous affair. However it was not to be this week as the team was let down by an overly confident quizzer who knows nothing about Kayne West. Venue’s a tad on the cold side but this is more than made up for through the warmth of the welcoming smile from Cat behind the bar. Lucky for us, after the quiz the DJs turned the heat up with bangers galore, my eardrums could barely handle the excitement. Will be back next week.

Hate to say that that this place should close until the heating is sorted for customers & staff - 5 degrees inside…6 outside!!! Went for a couple of cocktails & food. Lots not available for the cocktails - hey ho. Food really good, including the new pizza offering, but it’s so cold you honestly can’t enjoy it & of course it turns cold v quickly. Compliments to the kitchen. Everyone sitting (if they stayed) in big coats. Staff very pleasant & apologetic, but powerless about the heating (big heaters brought in blew a wall of electrics). MANAGEMENT - pay attention…sort or close temporarily (& pay staff whilst closed). Won’t waste my hard earned here again sadly… Brewdog was nice & cosy with great food & service

Was a typo on the menu saying the pizza deal was on until 9, however, was on until 8. When asked about the deal, we were met with some hostility as if it was our mistake and were not given any compensation. We were then met with a classist comment for studying in Dundee. That’s how we took it anyway.

had a few pints here and the place has a nice feel to it- nothing special, but great to get out of the drizzle and relax in a clean pub.

The bartender Tim made the best cocktails, would recommend! Atmosphere on a Sunday is perfect, especially as it is one of the only places open past 11 in town.

This was the best pina colada I’ve had in a long while! Bartender Tim was lovely and really chatty! Will be coming back for more!

Held a few events at the Vic this past year and the staff is always friendly and hard working. The managers are very friendly, accommodating and organised. The drinks are good and decently priced. The place itself is fun and aesthetic.

Had a lovely evening; perfectly social distanced. Kirsten served us all the drinks we requested and gave exceptional advice about shots. She couldn’t have been nicer and we’ve left smiling more than we were when we arrived. Keep up the good work xxx

Visitamos el sábado pasado por la noche, no habíamos reservado una mesa, pero la señora de la puerta que hacía el seguimiento y rastreo no tuvo problemas para ubicarnos en el último minuto. También nos informó en el horario de su mesa cuando nos sentamos junto con toda la otra información que necesitábamos para asegurarnos de que seguimos las pautas de COVID para los lugares.Nos sentamos en el bar principal que tenía un claro distanciamiento social. La comida era excelente y la chica que nos servía era muy acogedora y simpática. ¡Los cócteles se veían y sabían increíbles también! Altamente recomendado.

First time visiting here when it re opened. Service was excellent and staff were lovely. Covid measures in place makes you feel safe and comfortable. The food was also really nice everything was great! Will definitely be back soon.

Went in to see the new drinks menu that was promoted on Instagram , and was delighted with the new cocktails ! The candy floss martini tasted and looked amazing ! Loved having these on a cocktail tree.

We happened to stumble across the Vic as we looked for somewhere for lunch. We were made welcome and were grateful to wait a couple of minutes to have all COVID restrictions put in place. The food was excellent I was surprised I got three sausage in my breakfast roll which was very tasty. My wife had pancakes which had three pancakes, and bacon along with syrup. The choice of drinks and they were explained well by the staff

Je n'ai pas testé le restaurant, seulement le bar une fois la nuit tombée. Ambiance très sympathique, jeune, tamisée et animée. Bon cocktails et autres alcools aux prix corrects, servis rapidement par un personnel aimable. De très bonnes soirées passées entre amis en ce lieu. Soirées à thèmes régulières, parfois aussi de la musique live et des pubs quiz. Bémol: il faut parfois parler un peu fort pour se faire entendre.Le social club est bien, dance floor un peu petit peut être mais bonne ambiance. Attention l'entrée peut être payante après 22h, mais pas toujours (cela doit dépendre du moment de l'année).

Looked at menu on door, reasonably priced pub food, dropped in and squeezed into a table. Servers were pleasant. Food, especially burgers good, seems to be popular with students. If you are looking for reasonable food at a reasonable price you cannot beat the Vic

We have been to the Vic quite a few times. The most recent time has made my mind up and I won't return. We had given them the benefit of the doubt after a few recent indifferent experiences but this time, the place was quite empty in January, we had extremely slow and bad service. We arrived and asked if we could have a table for 6. There was a table which had recently been vacated which we asked for. We waited on the high tops which are quite uncomfortable for about half an hour before being seated due to how slow the "2" staff on duty were taking with serving everyone. I think there is an issue here: it's January, they expect it to be very quiet, however, there are a lot of people about St Andrews using vouchers for weekend breaks and this makes it quite busy in some places but the places are not geared up. We ordered our food at last and it's nothing special, but still at St Andrews prices. There are loads of other places in St Andrews where you'll get good, service and a good meal at a lower price.

Great price and very good quality food . The kids menu was excellent. The restaurant is very well located , there is a parking lot pretty much right in front of the restaurant

Myself and three girl friends did the cocktail making class on Saturday afternoon with Jean and it was excellent! We didn't know what to expect but he made it so fun and interesting. Would definitely recommend and great value for money. Thank you!!

Tuve un super huevos Benedict con un amigo hoy. Jean y el personal de la cocina nos cuidaron muy bien.

Lugar de grietas. Bien decorado y buen ambiente. Jean es el mejor barman. Definitivamente regresaremos.

Ha pasado un tiempo desde la última vez que visitamos, pero no nos decepcionó. Hay un ambiente peculiar, personal amable y servicial. Tomamos una hamburguesa y papas fritas y una hamburguesa de pollo en la oferta especial, de 2 a 1 de lunes a viernes, no es de extrañar que sea una de las favoritas de los estudiantes y los lugareños muy económicos pero de gran sabor.

This is a lovely looking venue, however the manager was extremely rude to us about drinks we ordered, we did get what we wanted in the end but his attitude was disgraceful and will make me think twice about coming back here.

I recently went on a trip to visit a friend who lives in St Andrews and as it’s a small town we naturally ended up in the Vic. The staff were trying their best despite being clearly understaffed on a busy night, the service wasn’t perfect but no service ever is on such busy nights, but what struck me was the managers behavior. He was speaking to a brunette girl behind the bar and among other things called her an idiot in front of customers, blatantly speaking to her in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. This kind of degrading behavior is unacceptable and I hope The Vic looks into this problem, my best wishes to the wonderful young lady behind the bar.

Have been here previously but have to say whatever has happened is an improvement... staff attentive, food scrumptious, cocktails amazing ... highly recommend and saw a dog here so clearly paws friendly.. nice touch !!

Quick and friendly, we imagine ideal anytime of the day, with a relaxed atmosphere. Coffee was some of the best we have had up here.

Vinimos a tomar unas copas por la tarde con algunos amigos: nuestro servidor era Emily (creo que se llamaba así) nada era demasiado problema y nos atendió a todos muy rápidamente: nuestra encantadora tarde llegó a su fin cuando un hombre (presumiblemente el gerente ) comenzó a gritarle a nuestro servidor desde detrás de la barra (escuchando algunas frases cursivas y que la llamaban idiota) frente a un restaurante lleno de gente. Absolutamente no hay forma de tratar a su personal cuando esta pobre niña estaba prácticamente dirigiendo el lugar sola con una sonrisa en su rostro.

I had a lovely dinner this evening with my friends. The vic was such a lovely environment to have a catch up and be fresh to start the new year at uni. Gavin our server made the trip so much more enjoyable and we where well looked after! The vegan chilli we had was so lovely and well presented. I would strongly recommend the vic for dinner !! Myself and a Nephew met up with a 1st Cousin once removed and His Wife that we had met before and another 1st Cousin once removed and Her Husband and a 2nd Nephew of Husband of My Paternal Aunt and His Wife that I had found through Ancestry, while I was Visiting Scotland for 2 Weeks in August. One Couple had driven up from County Durham that Morning for the Day!!

Ultima serata a St. Andrews, si decide per andare a ballare. Mi è piaciuto molto il fatto che il locale abbia sia la zona pub che la zona disco, oltre alla sala esterna per i fumatori. Bell'ambiente per la vita notturna, mi sono divertita molto, peccato per la lentezza nel servire i drink al bancone e per la musica quasi solo elettronica, non proprio di mio gusto. La chiusura del locale alle 2 di notte il sabato mi è dispiaciuta un po', sarei rimasta volentieri di più.

We had dinner here as a group of 4 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Fun atmosphere and our waiter Gavin was fantastic. He was friendly, prompt and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Good food and a nice selection of board games to entertain the kids whilst we waited. Served by Charles who was lovely, nothing was too much trouble for him.

We came here by chance as we were starving and craving for some beer as well. From the outside it did not seem promising, but once we went upstairs we got actually surprised by the atmosphere and the settings.

Popped in for lunch and place was quiet ,we had poutin which was ok The aircondioning was full blast so chilly seat ,we were glad to leave.Toilets were a bit smelly.Wont hurry back .

Go to the Vic every year we are in the town and can’t fault it. Cool place and nice atmosphere. Took advantage of the 2-4-1 burger offer, even at full price it’s not expensive. We had the crispy chicken burger (pictured) and the beef burger, both excellent.

Nicely decorated bar/restaurant. Staff seemed to struggle coping with only a few tables to serve and nobody at the bar. Food was generally ok but the Poutine was pretty bad - essentially chips with melted grated cheese on top and a dash of plain gravy - pretty disgusting really and nothing like a proper Poutine. Left the lot and waiter did not even ask if there was an issue!!

Visited this place, initially only for a drink (accessed by lots of stairs) - nearly £12 for a pint of lager and a white wine - bit pricey! We eventually decided to get something to eat - I had the ribs as a starter - lovely and tasty. My husband though had the hot dog with all the trimmings - he couldn't eat is as it was swimming in grease.

Was shopping across the street, saw a sign for “2 for 1” burgers so stopped in. Upstairs with great ambiance, beers, food and phenomenal service from Saski, the bartender/waitress. She had a great personality and if she lived in the USA we’d hire her in a minute!!

Saski was our waitress/bartender. She did a GREAT job and served up some amazing burgers suggesting we add some chorizo to them which was very tasty. 2 for 1 on a Monday afternoon. Can’t beat that and just a short few blocks from St Andrews Links.

I am on a short trip to St Andrews (12 days) and this is by far the best bar in town. Gavin was our server and was excellent.

Went today for lunch with my sister and kids. I ordered the cajun chicken which was ok. My nephew had the kids macaroni which he enjoyed. However my daughter had a burger which was almost cremated as was my sisters hotdog.

Gavin was great, knew his stuff, even got the lime right in my soda. Burger and Gumbo were well tasty. Will be back.

Good place for pre-dinner drinks, really good value for money and good selection of cocktails. We did go back after dinner but the DJ was stuck in an absolute time warp, would play nothing outwith the 2000's not even more recent stuff. Totally bored the life out a large hen party. Security watched as two men thought they would strip to their under wear and dance about in their pants clearly annoying other people. Freshers week maybe expected but any other time is just wrong and offensive to peoples eyes.

Having planned to go here for lunch it didn't go well as we arrived 5 minutes before a large tour group - nice place to be so we had a drink and then came back later. Very glad we did, fantastic burger.

Went here for a casual dinner and really enjoyed it. Lovely layout/decor and a really good menu at reasonable prices. We had a couple of minor issues with our order but the staff were excellent and resolved these quickly and appropriately. Would definitely return.

Visited with friends for drinks. Ended up having food and playing ping pong too. We had a great night and Gavin and Connor looked after us brilliantly.

Placed an order for food at 8:20pm - 45 minutes later we asked for an update only to be told that our order hadn’t gone through to the kitchen. We were then told it would be a 25 minute wait for our food. It seemed this was because our order was being competed after another group who arrived half an hour after us (the two groups were the only two eating in the restaurant). As I type I am watching them being served their food.

We went in for lunch , ordered 1 sharing starter & 2 main meals after 30mins we were told they have no cheese for the chilli nachos even although a tesco is 2minutes away do we want to order something else, another 30 mins and our starter and main meals arrived together I asked why are we getting it altogether and the waiter said I thought you wanted it all together . Why would you order a sharing starter and not get it as a starter boggles my mind, then we had to wait 20 mins for more drinks I could understand this if they were busy but there was only 2 other tables full , my chicken burger was thin and crispy , chips were worse than mcdonalds . This is probably the WORST meal and service we have ever had in st andrews I would rather que for 30mins in the pouring rain at another restaurant than go there again.

We turned up to the Vic with about 35 people to have drinks the day after the wedding. Saski, Valentina and Rory were so helpful especially as they didn’t know they were coming. Nothing was an issue and they were so friendly. We will definitely be back to this place. The actual venue is amazing too !

Nicole is an absolute hospitality superstar! We love two for one on burgers! Very spacious, high ceilings, super service fantastic burgers.

Thursday night great deal 2 for 1 burgers. My wife says “great, we can each get a burger for half price”

would definitely recommend dropping in. We travel a lot so we have experienced many places with a similar look to the Vic however what made this memorable was the fabulous service from Valentina, bright, friendly and welcoming to our whole party which comprised of all ages and special needs teens. Valentina made us feel at home and at ease, a big thank you!

Great place for a night out. Gavin was a fantastic bartender, was very patient and friendly! The other guys were great too. Good service all around.

The place is well decorated. But over 2 hours to get our meal. The only saving grace was our waiter Conner. Great job in a difficult situation. He’s a gem.

The Vic has a great industrial chic vibe. The place is open and friendly with a fun feel and games to play. Our waitress was delightful however despite their only being one other table in the restaurant being served our drinks was a laborious process. Most guest found their food to be overly spiced without flavor. Our meals took over an hour and a half to come to the table. And the waitress kindly gave everyone a free round of drinks. Sounds lovely but it took over 45 minutes to get them. We had pre-booked this restaurant a month ago on other TripAdvisor recommendations. Not sure if our demographic is what they cater to. Meaning a 50+ crowd of golfers.
