We booked the Malmaison at Glasgow as we were going to King's Theatre to see a show (5 minute walk away). Just the one night, but from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt very welcome and looked after. Staff at Reception when we checked in were very professional, kind and considerate. The room was spotless and extremely comfortable especially the bed. Yes, rooms & public spaces etc are a little dark but that doesn't detract from the experience. We ate in the bar grill, thoroughly enjoyed our burger and our breakfast the next morning in the restaurant section. Again the staff were very kind, helpful and professional. The food on both occasions was excellent. On check out we were asked about our visit, we sat in the reception for a while as we were early for our next appointment and staff were very helpful to get us a taxi. Would we stay again? A resounding YES

Food was OK, I had the steak burger, my friend had an 8oz, 40 minutes wait when three tables are on-going is harsh. The lads who worked in the kitchen .ade my female friend feel un easy, they swagger like they own the shop. The lady was nice, but she seemed troubled. The lad who served drinks was probably the only nice person there.

Lovely old feel pub with some really nice ales on. The room i was in was well equipped and spacious. The breakfast was delicious. I was here for work and enjoyed would definitely use it again. Bang in the middle of Melrose main street. As a side note, a colleague of mine got locked out of his room in the nip in the middle of the night, so mind you have your key on you at all times as the doors need the key to enter. That in itself was worth the visit.

We had an incredible experience at the hotel and restaurant! The staff were absolutely brilliant and were extremely friendly and attentive. The rooms were also amazing and very comfortable, with lovely views of the sea. The drinks bar had a wide variety of drinks suitable for everyone, and the food at the restaurant was extremely good. The starters were incredibly tasty and very well made, strongly recommend trying the Haggis Bon Bon's and the Whipped Goat's Cheese. For the main dish we had steak and it was perfectly cooked to our liking. The staff were so accommodating of our needs and made sure even our dog felt at home. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would love to come back on another occasion!

Our first visit here. Lovely hotel/ environment but very disappointed with the food in the Kailyard for a Nick Nairn restaurant. We expected so much more. My pork starter was very disappointing and the supplement of £6.50 for the prawn and smoked salmon cocktail is an absolute rip off, there was more iceberg lettuce than anything else & the prawns were the small frozen kind. The main course of tandoori sea bass turned out to be a wrong choice, far too dry….overall it’s been a really disappointing night and so unfortunately we will not be back here in a hurry.

Excellent food and service, really enjoyed the Haggis Cake. Third time there. Enjoyed it so much didn’t realise the time until last orders were called , definitely recommend. Only request would be they fix the front door so it actually closes itself when customers don’t.
