Fourmile House Kingswells in Aberdeen City

First visit here and it was excellent. I had read some very good reviews and all were correct. The menu and service were first class. We were out with our 2 year old son and he raved about the ice cream! Highly recommend and we will visit again.

Staff lovely and friendly. Knowledge on the menu very disappointing. Very much fast food in a restaurant. Cleanliness - questionable! Toilet roll below tables that had been cleaned and set up for the next sitting.

Great place to get Sunday dinner and food during the rest of the week

Just dropped in for coffee during a walk, usual range of coffees, good selections of cakes and bakes, nice surroundings, friendly staff, reasonably priced.

The cafe area is a great area for coffee, cake and lunches. Staff are brilliant.

We've been going here for the last 15 years and the quality of meal has always been consistently good - great for 'pub' grub, with a focus on fab ingredients, cooked and seasoned beautifully. Tonight was no exception, although we did complain regarding the starters. Whilst I have no issue regarding a small increase in prices to counteract the current cost of living crisis, the price charged for 5 thin slivers of calamari and 6 tortilla chips with topping (£1 extra for cheese) was a bit too much to bare. However, this was quickly rectified by the restaurant. The staff were as fabulous as ever and always a great atmosphere here, whether full or half empty.

Recently attended a funeral tea ,service ok ,food ok but NOT one of the staff had a smile or looked happy to be there ! Is this the way that the mighty " McGinty Group" run there businesses ?

Overpriced with very small portions particularly rib of beef 2 very thin slices

Was at a funeral tea, everything was very nicely set out more than enough sandwiches etc. The waitress was excellent and kept our teacups filled up.

Husband took me for sat lunch soup was amazing I had a sandwich with chicken salad it was really filling husband had steak pie didn't need supper was to full definitely recommend xx

Another great lunchtime visit. Was really quite busy, but we had pre booked a table. Nicely located in a quiet corner. Great menu options and very pleasant service. All good. 10/11 of us booked to be back again soon for dinner.

Our first visit to the restaurant and we had a pleasant evening. Attended to immediately on arrival shown to nice table drinks order taken quickly and served. Food order also taken promptly and starter came out almost immediately. Slight gap between finishing starter and getting main but restaurant was busy and it was a Friday. Food was piping hot, tasty, well presented and good value for money waiting staff friendly and attentive and got all our orders correct even with all our slight changes/ requests will certainly recommend

I am basing this review on my experience over several visits as a local on different times and days, with the same result each time. As many others have noted, the service is sadly lacking. Expect to wait a long time at every stage of your visit for any service. You'll see staff wandering around, but they never make eye contact or stop at the table. If you're looking to get table service from the beer garden, forget it. Food is overpriced for its very basic standard. Shame, as this could be a lovely local village pub restaurant.

Visited many to times and therefore generally know what to expect. The food was not up to the usual standard unfortunately and service was below par too. I appreciate the difficult times this industry has been through and therefore don't want to be overly negative. Always worth a visit as is the coffee shop of a morning.

Always keen to dine here as staff are so friendly and helpful. Menu is varied and cake counter can't be passed!

Live locally and been many times over the last 3 years, food and drink service consistently slow or absent. Expect to wait a long time at each stage of your meal as staff walk by repeatedly and ignore you (beer garden service particularly patchy), drinks also take a long time to arrive. Fourmile losing a significant amount of revenue by not serving drinks fast and offering refills as they are finished. Besides the service the food is alright, nothing special for the prices charged. Interior very dark, not much natural light but otherwise nice enough. With a bit of staff training focussing on customer service, we'd visit more often.

Wouldn't rush to go back. Unfortunately, the service and food have deteriorated.

The bacon buns are terrible. The buns are sweet bread and the thick bacon is usually cremated…

Great food and attentive staff.

Great breakfast. Decent sized portions and very good quality bacon/sausages/black pudding. Friendly service too.

Quick business lunch with member of staff and really enjoyed ALL and will be back very soon . My colleague has severe allergies and Amy and her team were brilliant . Outstanding Fish and Chips and exemplary sesame seed chicken - all served by lovely and attentive waiters . Vegan Vera was also outstanding and her knowledge of ingredients really good too . Could I fault anything ? - possibly that as we sat beside icecream counter on a busy day , the wee kids spillages weren’t wiped up and elderly or anyone could slip - older member of staff in dress seemed to walk around bizarrely ignoring it BUT , apart from that just superb .

Go here quite regularly but last twice ordered panini and it was not very crispy as it should be and normally is. Feel food not so good as before. Another time was asked by waitress would we be leaving a tip found that quite rude

A fine friendly bar, welcoming and friendly staff. No real ale available on pump, but brew dog available IPA and one other.

We visited as a table of 10 for Father’s Day and everyone was of the same opinion that the food was very average . Service was very friendly even if on 3 occasions a request for no ice in the drinks was ignored,and the drinks arrived full of ice. The goujons were dry and can see why they came with a sauce! Chips could have been done with a bit longer in the fryer. Roast beef full of fat and cold shredded beetroot was a strange accompaniment. Children’s play park needs a bit of attention trip hazards at the bottom of the slide and the missing gate means child has direct access to the car park Probably would not choose to eat here again but will not rule out the cafe as have yet to try it …hopefully it will be an improvement on the restaurant.

Just in Aberdeen and decided this place was going to be where we had tea, was not disappointed food amazing, staff amazing and friendly will definitely be back affore our stay is over.

Fantastic food well presented although perhaps a little on the expensive side. However the portions were very good. Lovely atmosphere. Staff excellent and friendly.

Absolutely amazing chicken salad with butter beans and fried kale. Truly delicious!

Coffee okay but the cakes and rolls tasted a bit stale wasn't very fresh think thay were passed there sale date

Visited here for dinner while in Aberdeen, the staff where very polite and helpful, we first booked for a table of 3 and on the same day of arrival we changed to a table for 7 people, a staff member done there best to accommodate us all, Nice welcome on arrival quickly taken to our table and drinks order taken, good selection of food to offer, food was nice and hot and very tasty , I would recommend this to friends and family and we will definitely be back when next in Aberdeen .

Absolut the worst’s lunch ever , order a hamburger, beef burger over-salted black dry/ hard .the staff had no interest to listen to the complaints, and was not interested to do something about, so what ever restaurant you choose, AVOID this one.

Went for lunch with my daughter we order tuna mayo and sweetcorn panini. The panini was uncooked in the middle the tuna was sparse and I had 2 bits of sweetcorn my daughter had none it came with a small side salad which was nice. £9.95 Don't think we will be in a hurry to go back .

Enjoyed a cuppa and scone in the Fowrie with my mum. Lovely decor, very clean, wonderful staff and very well priced.

Good bar food, friendly staff and good atmosphere

Due to a largescale funeral tea, the casual cafe area was where we were seated. As a result, all 3 of us chose differently to what we would normally have. I had a chicken tikka wrap. I can't recall the price but it looked like a 4-year old had made it! the filling in the basic wrap and rolled thinly. As i was not paying I did not make a fuss. On using the Ladies toilets, I was aghast to see that issues experienced when I visited in 2022 were still issues! With a huge amount booked in that day, I fear for what they looked like mid afternoon! Won't be in a hurry to return.

Great venue with plenty of space for larger parties and cracking food. Very child friendly

We were here a few days ago for my father's funeral lunch , what a spread , lovely soup and selection of sandwiches ,hot sausage rolls , tea and coffee and scones with jam and cream , was really impressed . The service was brilliant aswell

We had a lovely meal with friends. Served by a lovely friendly young lady who couldn’t do enough for us. Food was delicious. Beautifully served and piping hot. We sometimes find the Four Mile hit or miss but, on this occasion, a high hit.

It was a nice atmosphere and warm. The food was good.

Food seemed to be made using the cheapest ingredients. Juice from concentrate, roast potatoes and chips from frozen. Could do the same meal from the frozen section at Tesco. Service wasn't great, lots of new staff who didn't know what the kitchen or bar had.

We made an unplanned visit for dinner and the food was very disappointing. It has been 2 years since our last visit and it has really gone downhill both in terms of food and the ambience, the main restaurant needs a good clean and freshen up. The menu was a cheap laminated version with a poor menu. The positive was the staff were really nice.

Went for funeral tea and there were sandwiches, sausage rolls and scones and numerous cups of coffee. Staff were very helpful.

If you chose to hold your funeral tea with The Fourmile, Kingswells I suggest you do so with caution and make sure that you obtain written confirmation. It’s a long story but in short, when I booked a tea following the passing of my Dad I was quoted £7.45 per person (for 50 people). When I paid I was charged £10.45 for 54 people. When phoning to query I was told that that was not possible, £7.45 was the price two years ago. The lady I spoke with would phone me back so that she could discuss with the lady (Jana) who took the booking. I then received a phone call the next day telling me no, it was definitely £10.45 and that the lady I was speaking with was sitting with Jana typing it up onto her spreadsheet while she was on the phone with me (she did not know who had taken the booking the day before mind). I was then told that I must have misheard Jana, or perhaps it was a bad line. That ultimately the mistake was mine, and mine alone. Based on the fact that I was being blamed and that there was little to no thought of potential reimbursement, perhaps a good will gesture or any other possible option, I decided to say that I could see there was going to be no movement on the matter and said goodbye. So, if you do decide to book any function of significance, please ask for written confirmation so as to avoid disappointment during what is already going to be a difficult time. My wife and I had a fantastic Christmas day lunch at the Fourmile . All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were looked after by Sarah who was very attentive. We started with prawns and smoked salmon and I had the haggis Bon Bon’s. We both had the turkey and the trifle and finished the meal off with a wee baileys . I would definitely consider having our Christmas or any lunch there next time we visit Aberdeen .

Well went here last week with my friend got lunch and won't be rushing back, the chips were greasy and overcooked and had a odd taste, the salad that arrived looked very sparce and very little dressing so really was not a great experience, even got the smallest piece of fudge which was nice but extremely small the size of your pinky wow was expecting a better menu and service was ok. Won't be back shame as it's a nice place inside.

Booked meal here on Saturday 5 November for myself and 2 friends went to desk to pay paid my bill went back to table and the 3 of us left on exiting the door I was approached and told you haven’t paid enough there are 7 of you I charged for the wrong table I said I beg your pardon there are only 3 of us !! Visited the fourmile for some lunch after church this Sunday and was very impressed! Delicious food and great service - our waitress, Maddison, was just fantastic - so friendly and on the ball. Will definitely be back ! :))

I like this place and the food is of a high quality. Today I didn't enjoy the chips as well as usual but the rest of the meal was good. The waiting staff are attentive without being intrusive and made sure that a Coeliac dinner was well catered for. Also today it was very noisy and at one point a dog was barking loudly. Saying that I would definitely recommend a visit as you can have coffees and light meals as well .

Everything was great except the service. We had 3 cocktails and a bottle of wine in 2.5 hours. It was disappointing:( if we had been served more. Would’ve ordered more and stayed longer.

What an amazing venue!! The staff are ever so pleasant, food was fabulous with generous portions and the service was just brilliant.

Travelled 25 minutes to visit to be told the kitchen shuts at 7pm. Does not say this online and called up last week to ask and was not told this. Ridiculous and very poor customer service!!

We were recommended four mile by the funeral parlour! I certainly wouldn’t recommend. the sandwiches were on table uncovered and dry on arrival, the gluten free options consisted of 2 sandwiches cut in half and handed on 2 plates that was it!! Very unprofessional
