Hass's Fish and Chips in Aberdeen City

Not as good as original Haas. Fish smaller little white pudding . Won’t last . Shame

Under cooked red pudding. Burger dry and rubbery. Chips were OK.

Fish is usually very good but sometimes its a bit of a hit or a miss depending on the fryer. Chips can be a bit dry but i think this is the quality of potatoes available at this time of year

Cheap oil being used. Greasy batter. The chips are very often black in places and very small. Not good at all.

Worse customer service I have ever experienced in Aberdeen. Food was delayed and when we complained, we were met with abuse. Please avoid.

Ordered through JustEat and due to lack of drivers, had to wait 2h 30m (not Hass' fault at all) and called the store a few times over this period for updates. They were friendly and understanding and when the food arrived, it looked and tasted like they'd re-done it, nice and fresh, and threw in a few extras at their own expensive for something that is 100% not their fault. Ordered from here loads of times and the standard is always excellent. Good buncha lads. Worth the wait!

This is the second time I've tried this chipper, and I won't be back. The chips were cold and soggy and virtually dripping with fat. the Scampt was watery and also cold, not very appetising at all. To be honest, the food had very little flavour and was mushy for the two portions I ordered.

Usually really good. Disappointed in the size of fish I got. Think I got a senior meal instead of a standard fish supper.

Very average compared to years past

Just had my delivery from Hass. I was absolutely shocked that a member of staff made the conscious decision to put this in my box. Can you guess what it is? It's a macaroni pie!!! It was covered in chips which is not usual but I can see why the staff member decided to do this!! p.s. The service score above is for the delivery by Just Eat being on time

My first time back to Hass's in over six years and the quality is much improved. Well cooked chips and a light batter over well cooked fish. A good chip supper was had and I would go again.

Last time I ventured here it was awful. Last night, it wasn’t that good! Chips were ok, the batter on the fish was great, but the haddock itself was completely tasteless. Last time I said I’d never go back, this time I mean it.

A shame to say but the food is below par . This is my second time trying Hass’a. It doesn’t have that “chip shop” chips . There like stale potato wedges from the freezer. pineapple fritters have zero taste which is bizarre - they taste old

Dropped in for a quick portion of chips and left empty handed. Waited forever and two behind counter didn't even try to take order, not only one waiting to be served. Don't mind waiting for fresh to cook but not to even make order! Disappointing.

This place should be avoided at all costs. Waited 2 hours after ordering from Uber eats and when eventually arrived order was missing items the steak pie was like a brick the potato fritters as like doorsteps and chop steak was disgusting AVOID

Excellent Chippy. Haddock cooked to perfection with crisp light batter or breadcrumbs. Fish cooked to order, but not sitting in the hot cupboard is worth a few minutes wait. Thick chunky chips. Only loses a star because the mushy peas were not particularly warm.

Second attempt to order, first order cancelled second one been waiting over an hour for a driver to be assigned. Unable to call either as it keeps going through to BT call minder. Very disappointed will not be ordering again.

Just recently ordered. Only received fish, but no chips. The fish was also quite wet and undercooked.

Since new ownership the fish and chips are awful frozen fish it appears nothing like it was when Stewart was the previous owner now it must be the worst in Aberdeen from being a regular customer l would never buy again and would not recommend to others its gone right down hill.

So ordered a home delivery from Hass, Deliveroo claims it was delivered at 17.10, it wasn't as Ring doorbell confirms, contacted Hass who've just said its not their problem as order had left, we'll someones enjoying our order, and it isn't us, wouldn't use again

After a poor patch following a change of ownership they are now again producing high quality food Everything is freshly cooked to your order and it is well worth a visit.

Best chipper in Aberdeen. No matter how busy they are, they are courteous, and quick. The food is lovely. Keep up the good work.

Following on from previous reviews this establishment had high standards great products like the Haddock and I was certainly apprehensive in parting with my cash for a Haddock and Chips! I wasn’t disappointed in the least the haddock was big white chunks of flesh the batter was crispy the chips were made to order also and they were very nice all fried in beef dripping which gives off a beautiful Reek The staff were friendly and the shop looked clean What I would say is that he has employed a couple of good fryers So I will be back John Mac

Decided to get a chippy as a treat … When we got there, there were quite a few people standing on the street waiting and in their cars - popular chippy - must be a good sign ... So as instructed we rang the bell, woman opened the hatch and we placed our order and paid. Told us 10 mins wait. To say her customer service was lacking was an understatement Stood there for around 15 minutes, during this time people came and went, orders going, people were handed buzzers that buzzed and they went to the window to collect their orders. We weren’t given a buzzer for some reason? Finally when we did get our order from the rude woman, it was wrong! Some items were missing from it. We were not the only ones, as whilst waiting over 15 mins for the food, several people had taken their food back for missing items - we overheard no salt and vinegar added to one of them and the other was missing a condiment. When we finally got home with our food. It was piping hot and tasty, however there are other chip shops close by with good reviews and staff without bad attitudes that we will be going to in the future and will not be customers as Hass’ again.

It transpires that Indians have bought it within the last month or so, and it’s all gone downhill since. First of all, they now use frozen fish, which is unbelievable given the amount of fresh fish suppliers we have in town. They also close at 9pm, which given there is a pub a 100 yards away seems baffling. Anyway, we used this place for year, and after two carry outs in the last two weeks we won’t use them again. And the chips were u dear cokked, won’t be back

dont cook spam or corned beef fritters anymore, balmoral chicken dry, chips soggy, cash only when most take card now, staff uncaring and bored

Excellent chips and white pudding

I came here on Thursday evening. The service was good. The food was exceptional. I had a standard haddock and it was cooked to perfection. The price was a little bit steep at £5.70 but this is probably consistent with other chippers in Aberdeen. Overall I had a good experience and I will definitely come back again soon.

very disappointed. The fish was over cooked dry and chewy and the chips were tasteless. Most good fish and chip shops have tubs of homemade tarter sauce and a slice of lemon not a watery tarter sauce in a tube. £8.50 a supper i felt ripped off. never Again!!!

Cannot say anything bad about this chippy although it is small considering how busy it can get so you might have a wait but...simply one of the best places in aberdeen and well worth it. Always fresh and tasty and the prices are reasonable too. Too easy to have too many takeaways from here.

I called in for a bag of chips on the way past , I was quickly disappointed a load of rubbish, I handed them back giving the lady my view, she could understand me saying there hot , how hard can it be running a fish and chip bar , 2 elements to get right fish and chips, come on woman, anyone how says there good you need to get yourself out of town and check out what you really can get

Service was terrible,they blamed it on the phone orders, apparently they can't keep up with demand , they gave buzzers to the people waiting in the car but not to the people waiting in front of the shop in the cold. When I eventually received my order one item was missing. It's the first and last time I will be going there.

When I lived near Fish and Chip shop around 2013, there were none better, no idea if under new management, but quality has definately dived. Tonights order was dreadfull, batter awful, soaked in grease, you could actually not get more grease into the batter if you had left it soaking in grease all night!! Chips had thick skins as if left out and reheated!! Just dreadful. Sorry

Fish and chips served come directly from the fryer. The fish is really tasty and, dare I say, bigger than other places I visited. Definitely worth every penny.

Went last night. Had to queue for a fair bit but that’s to be expected due to lockdown. Food was delicious, staff friendly and price reasonable. We were pleased.

Excellent! Just Had my first visit. Service was friendly and professional. Haddock fried perfectly, crispy batter and tender cooked fish. Chunky chips cooked just right. Was there end of summer with my 2 boys,. We all love fish supper's, so that's what we got 3 of, if we had only got one, we probably wouldn't of finished that never mind the 3 wee did get, was to memory to date the worst fish and chips I have ever had 😔 bit of a let down for are last night camping treat, wouldn't go back.

Excellent fish and chips. Fish is fresh and flakey, batter is generally cooked to perfection with the right amount of crunch and the chips are dry and crispy.

To the un-informed like me, Hass's doesn't look like it's going to with minimum fuss serve the best fish and chips you've ever had, but oh my it was fab!
