Sunday evening deserted. Food like a bit of semi-finished products. Half the beers weren't. Very loud music in an empty space. Overall, not much of an experience.

Very busy here ,but served quickly. Food was plentiful and tasty.

Music was the only good thing. Food was not good at all. The nachos were a mess. Everything was soggy and stuck together with the paper in the basket as the cheese got cold ... could not finish it. The selecton of beer was also not good enough to enjoy.

A bit of a stretch, we waited our food for 50 minutes for a chicken salad and sandwich (it was not crowded) but I gave it a 4-star since the food was really great and interior was really beautiful.

It was quiet when I visited but there was a nice little atmosphere. A couple of pints and some seasoned fries that were just what I needed after 6 miles of walking around the city.

We visited during the fringe, and enjoyed some drinks and food. The food was surprisingly tasty - I particularly enjoyed the Nacho Waffle Fries. I am giving 4 stars as I felt the place was a little unclean. The tables and floors were sticky and so were the menus. Part of this adds to the character but I did feel the place needed a good deep clean. You could also smell the toilets if you were sat near the toilet door.

I'm not giving you zero just because it's not possible. 1 hour for a sandwich, you can't avail me

Came in just for drinks around lunch time, and all was well. I was glad to see a few American beer options

Small cosy place, friendly staff and good pub food. Enjoyed the nachos very much. Mixed crowd of young and older everyone welcoming.

This place has a great atmosphere. Perfect for groups to grab a drink and catch up or play some fun pub games. They offer student deals on beverages and they have an extensive food menu. I love to stop here when I'm in Edinburgh and I always have a great time!

Stopped in here around 10pm, as it was advertised food served until midnight, only to be told after our drinks were served that the kitchen was closed. The cocktails were pre-mix from a bottle. Pretty disappointing all round.

Good traditional lively pub, obviously with a big student clientele given the location, and it can also have a cast of characters at times.

OMG NOT GOING BACK. LOTS OF BETTER PLACES DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME Obvious drugs in the bar, from the bit of plastic and other obvious signs he smokes pot. Not been in in since the review below WONT GO BACK. THE WAY HE TREATED THIS WOMAN ! I saw a male junkie buy drinks etc be very polite but barred him for his friend outside ? I saw it all, extremely bad management 😕 I actually felt like complaining, he spoke to a lady with total arrogance. Speaking to people who live here, say it is the cap wearing management poorly kept, looks and mess, totally changed. I then saw that the lady had video footage, yet he barred her for nothing. She looked very well kept and her manner was very calm. Honestly this looks like a druggie bar. Won't go back. Also reporting to health & Safety due to the drug evidence in the toilets. Not cleaned not kept. Tbh this is somewhere that does need a new management the boy has bought the place and turned from a place a woman could go alone to a youth hostel for his pals. IMO genuine opinion. The food was terrible also, for the high price for fried cheaply bought frozen foods. 0% .

Bar staff, could smile, not very welcoming, it was my first time in their, had 2 pint of Guinness, which where OK, l didn't have any food, but from what l seen coming out it looked pretty good.

Had a good night, but two young guys were vaping. Asked them to stop but they continued. The bar staff seemed to know them so they seemed not to bother with our request to stop. Will go somewhere else next time.

We booked in here for a wee bit of food before the Festival Theatre, which is a 5 minute walk at most. Quite a small pub with a nice atmosphere, really friendly staff and some tasty food. Good range of 0% beers too.

A great little pub, I was in for a 6 Nations game, it was busy but the crowd were friendly and staff welcoming and attentive.

Low key, friendly pub with seriously tasty food. The loaded waffle fries were a particular hit. Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. Would recommend.

Visited on quiz night so a student crowd and a younger person's quiz. A pleasant enough wee bar though with nice food.

Super kind servers, absolutely amazing servers. Came in and asked for a hot toddy which wasn't on the menu but was told they could absolutely make it for me. The one issue? They didn't have honey, but they were happy to substitute for simple syrup which, while untraditional, was still delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming. Truly a warm little pocket of comfort perfect for a tipple while exploring Edinburgh.

Eh no … cold and I inviting! Onion rings as a starter were cold and bland .. burgers just as bad’ Tbh no one asked for an order at ourtable .. staff seemed uninterested guy sat on a stool behind bar .. no this,no that, lol laughable!

After they changed hands, it lost a lot of its soul. It's extremely overpriced, the buffalo burgers don't taste as good, and it feels like a lot of its character has been hollowed out. It also used to actually be green, not blue.

Refreshments after concert at Queens Hall, great friendly service and atmosphere.

Met in this busy pub on St Pats night and it was great fun. Good selection of beers, friendly and efficient staff and the food was tasty and served quickly.

Uno de los camareros, el que nos atendió hablaba español y fue muy simpático. Estuvo bien pero la comida sin más... no es el mejor perrito que me he comido pero la hamburguesa y las patatas estaban muy buenas!

En un ambiente joven y distendido te tomas por unos precios muy adecuados una buena hamburguesa CASERA acompañada de una buena cantidad de chips y unas fresquitas cervezas. Hay una carta de pedidos no muy extensa pero de calidad. Tienen actividades programadas para cada dia y cuando hemos estado las personas que estaban participan y se divierten lográndose una atmosfera muy especial y recomendable.

Good selection of beers, they do food, good atmosphere and they have the football.The only reason it gets 4 not 5 stars is that the ventilation for the kitchen not good enough and you have a cooking oil smell in the pub at times.

Pretty solid small local pub, with a good selection of beer on tap. Not the kind of place you'd go for a real ale though! Generally pretty buzzing in the evenings, and very good bar food as well. Staff are friendly, and the intimate atmosphere means it's easy to chat with other customers.

A tremendous wee pub. The beer was great, the staff were very friendly and the music was brilliant. Didn't sample the food but if it matched the rest of my experience, it would have been "chust sublime".

Nice atmosphere, fantastic big screen for the rugby, cheap drinks, food a bit basic (but tasty nevertheless, no complaints about that). Kept trying to upsell spiced bacardi when I asked for Morgan's, no idea why, it's rot gut. Having a combination lock on the gents toilet cubicle made it a bit bizarre, I wasn't asking for the code to do a number two 😀. Thanks to the staff in general on Saturday afternoon for their good service and banter

Used to genuinely do the best burgers in Edinburgh but seems to have fallen off a lot since then sadly. Beer and food are very overpriced now. Doubt I'll be back.

The Greenmantle is a great place to have a drink with friends. However, the prices remain high at £5 a pint for the location it's based. The atmosphere is great, and I think will get better as the pandemic blows over.

Ordered a meal on Deliveroo, waited 50min just for my order to get cancelled at 9pm leaving us without dinner. No response from the restaurant and still waiting in my refund.

Habíamos reservado una mesa, sin embargo, cuando llegamos nos dijeron que no había mesas disponibles, solo para que nos dijeran momentos después que de hecho había una mesa disponible para nosotros Un miembro en particular del personal era bastante bajo y nos tomó varios pedidos para conseguir nuestras bebidas y comida. Las bebidas, la comida y el ambiente eran buenos, así que quizás simplemente tuvimos un mal día en lo que respecta al servicio.
