It was okay probably better for meat eaters then vegetarians.

Overall fantastic place to visit for breakfast/brunch. The food was amazing, coffee was exceptional, service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere was relaxed and chilled. Fairly busy for a Saturday morning but I didn’t have to wait when I arrived, was seated immediately. Would 100% recommend! I got the USA with streaky bacon added, and a cappuccino.

There are plenty of breakfast options, and you have the chance to try local flavors. The staff is very attentive. Make sure to make a reservation before you go.

Great food! We were sitting close to the counter, unfortunately it was very noisy due the staff sorting out the cutlery.

My friend and I had a really lovely brunch here and left very satisfied. Coffee is good and the food is even better. We had the halloumi chickpea dish and the thyme pork belly and they were both incredible. Good portions and lovely flavours. The service was also warm, quick and attentive. If we had more time in Edinburgh we would certainly be back.

The best brunch place I’ve ever been to. The staff were really friendly and lovely and the food was absolutely delicious. Did have to queue up in the cold using an online portal but was worth the wait! Would definitely recommend and come again

Called in at 11:30hrs on 16/12/24. Extremely busy, met by friendly and helpful staff Amy & Callum. Prompt service, excellent food ( French Pop Tart & Goat’s Cheese Toastie), very tasty & good portion sizes. A great little find & an ambience to match. Would confidently recommend, no surprise that it so popular.

Ridiculous queuing system. After waiting for over half an hour in the cold we gave up as they still couldn't give an estimate of when a table would be available. Food may be fine if you can afford a few hours waiting for a table but they need to be more honest about table availability and queuing time. Nowhere is worth that sort of wait.

The food is quite nice. I had ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was really filling. Unfortunately the real draw of my experience was the service. All the servers were quite lovely except one. I came at 9am on 14th December. A white server in a pink tshirt made us feel very unwelcome (do not know his name that’s why the description). We first thought he might be having a bad day but then when he was being cheery with the couple next to us (also white) we realized it was probably because of our colour. He had asked them if they enjoyed the experience and the food and had not asked us. He was also being quite short and did not attempt to make conversation. He gave cutlery and tissues to guests who arrived after us and made us feel neglected. When it came to pay the bill he didn’t show us the bill and just showed us the reader to make the payment. Whereas for the other guests he showed the bill and was being courteous. This might not seem like a lot but it’s the little things that contribute to the experience

Good food, large portions, and pretty quick service. All in all a very good place to visit.

Busy Sunday morning so joined the electronic queue and went for a walk around Stockbridge to kill the time. Definitely a benefit of digital queuing - particularly when it’s cold. Great hospitality and friendly staff. Unbelievable food. The Pantry Fry was incredible - I don’t mean that lightly. Reasonably priced and obviously popular for a reason.

The food is delicious and the service staff is also polite. All in all a very good and relaxing experience

Lovely Eggs Benny. The team that day may have been having a bad day and my experience may not be typical - but there was no warm welcome, no attempt at engaging in conversation, no attention to detail with service and my coffee arrived after my food.

I don’t typically like eggs Benedict, but I demolished the eggs benny with ham here, it was amazing! Definitely worth a stop for brunch.

I come here very often, I love the food and the place. However this time I was a bit disappointed as the waiter almost rushed us out even if the place wasn’t that busy. I work in hospitality and this is not the way how you treat a customer. Rush for the bill, rush to pay where there’s plenty of tables free? I would have understand it if they have tables coming.

One of the staff was very neutral it wasn’t nice for a high ranking cafe, but we had a nice breakfast there!

Esto era perfecto para nosotros, ya que era nuestro último día en la ciudad y no había reservado ningún desayuno o almuerzo. Sin embargo la delicia se desvaneció durante toda la HORA que esperamos en la cola virtual caminando por Stockbridge en el frío helado. Como ya estábamos allí y habíamos esperado en los dientes parloteando las temperaturas lo sobresalimos. (Después de la hora fuimos a un pequeño pub lindo en la esquina de la calle de circo que realmente deberíamos haber estado en. ) Por fin somos los siguientes en la fila y confirmamos nuestra reserva desde el pub, nos volvimos a poner los abrigos y las bufandas y rápidamente volvimos a la despensa. Fue aquí donde nos encontramos con un miembro grosero del personal que dijo “yo no te llamé” cuando entramos por la puerta. Me disculpé ya que supuse que se nos permitiría la entrada después de que nos hubieran dicho que viniéramos. Le dije educadamente que habíamos recibido un mensaje de ellos a lo que arrogantemente dijo “solo sostenemos tu mesa durante 10 minutos... han pasado casi 15”. Habían pasado 13 minutos y esperamos más de una hora. Me disculpé de nuevo y le expliqué que vinimos lo más rápido que pudimos a lo que él gruñó y dijo que vería lo que podía hacer. Claramente pensaba que nos estaba haciendo un gran favor dejándome entrar. Si no hubiéramos estado hambrientos nos habríamos ido. Ambos pedimos un rollo de desayuno que venía con una salsa de barbacoa. Le pregunté si podía tomarlo con ketchup en su lugar y me dijeron que podía quitar la salsa y había ketchup en la mesa. La “salchicha” en el rollo era más como una hamburguesa y venía en un baño de harina. . era más una hamburguesa en realidad. Mi café apenas estaba caliente, así que estaba frío para cuando obtuvimos nuestra comida. Nadie vino a comprobar que estábamos bien o si necesitábamos algo más. La cereza encima era que 2 hamburguesas y un café frío nos costaron casi £ 50. ¡Este es un lugar que vive de la publicidad de las redes sociales sobre un buen avo instagrameable en tostadas! Es un precio excesivo y el personal es grosero y poco servicial. El lugar necesita una lección de servicio al cliente. ¡Los modales no cuestan nada como este lugar! Fue una pérdida total de nuestro tiempo y tan decepcionante... especialmente después de esperar tanto tiempo (nunca más). Hay lugares mucho mejores en Edimburgo y afortunadamente esta fue la única mala experiencia que tuvimos en nuestro viaje. ¡Sólo EVITA, EVITA, EVITA!

Nice little place, good portions and a quite diverse range of dishes. Great for brunch. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. I recommend.

Food was amazing and it was a lovely spot. However, the queue to get in took over an hour and I just feel like it wasn’t a very efficient booking management system. The system gave no indication of how long the wait would be. Left many customers standing out in the cold for too long.

Lovely cafe for a pit stop around Edinburgh. Set in a quiet and picturesque location and with incredibly attentive staff. Food was served quickly with a great range of options to suit every diet. Highly recommend and will be returning for sure.

Ate here for lunch and had the soup of the day with a side of truffle & parmesan hash brown chips! Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. A nice atmosphere in a beautiful area of Edinburgh.

A super nice place to have breakfast/brunch or lunch. The food was very good. The place is clean, organized and welcoming. The girl who helped us was very sweet.

They have a horrible queue system. Waited for 1 hour on a Sunday morning (arrived at 10.15 AM). We were number two in the queue from the beginning and we didnt even move up in the queue. We could see that it was several tables available inside but they didnt let people in. We left hungry and waisted 1 hour of our day. Dont go there.

It looks amazing from the outside, there is no booking available and unfortunately one needs to stand outside and wait in a queue. I don't understand why there are no awnings for outside as the restaurant is obviously really popular and could benefit from the investment. Hour long waits to get in just won't cut it for me personally. I hope to sample the food at some point in the future and will amend my rating when that happens.

What we ordered was all very rich and tasty. We had to wait a long time in line.

We came for breakfast. “Sunny breakfast” sweet potato plates are very successful. Even if you add extra eggs, it still tastes better. He was a very good companion for tea.

This seems to be another one of these pretentious places that people just love queuing for instead of going somewhere else. And maybe the food is great but you wouldn't know if you can't get a seat to try it out, would you? Our pals arrived at 11:30 today and joined the "virtual queue." We joined them at 12 and gave up waiting at 1230 when we simply sat next door without any wait whatsoever. Still, we decided to see how long it would take before we get a text for our table. 1h 25min after our friends originally joined the queue, we were invited to a table. One. Hour. Twenty-five. Minutes. I am sorry, but how special do you think your food is to think this is an acceptable waiting time? If you can't cope with demand, surely you just do the courteous thing to let people know how long it would be so they can make their decisions. This is a poor show all around. Anyway, the cafe next door was decent, it took 5 seconds to get a table and the food was delicious. So, we'll head straight there next time you're around.

Interesting and innovative dishes well-prepared. Really busy. Staff efficient but slammed for hours at a time. We walked Circus Lane after putting our name in for the queue. Seated in a tiny nook in the back of the back so it was pretty hot and literally jammed in. I would opt to wait for a different table next time to maximize the enjoyment of the chefs’ work. Per usual in the UK, ordered tea and got a leaf pot with a bag of mediocre tea dust. Too much water for that amount if tea. Why do they not just put leaves in? Clean up, I guess. Saddens me. Coffee was good for my partner - decaf available right out the gate. Obvious why the spot is so popular - good, reliably tasty food unlike most spots.

Lovely little Café. We were looking for somewhere for breakfast while we waited on a family member at the Western hospital. I had the Eggs Benny Florentine. Delicious poached eggs and the Spinach was lovely. My Husband opted for the Banana Bread French Toast, which looked so good I wished I'd ordered it for myself. Great atmosphere with friendly staff. Will definitely give it a visit again.

We sang U.S.A, Sunshine on Stockbridge and side by side Brakfast chips (hash browns). We liked them all very much. I wish Sunshine on Stockbridge had toast, but the fact that it was all vegetables didn't appeal to me. Including coffee and service fee, we paid around £40 for 2 people. The interest and concern was very good.

Poached egg hadn't been drained off so made the whole plate soggy, streaky bacon was full of fat and undercooked and slimy, the sausages didn't taste of meat at all and were also undercooked, the mushroom had a disgusting sauce all over it, beans were served in a tiny thimble and barely covered the single hashbrown, no toast. The coffee was actually very nice however also cold and had to drink it all straight away before it got even colder. My girlfriend had the pancakes and they were also served cold. Avoid and go elsewhere

Locale vicino a Circus Lane, bellissima via semicircolare poco lontano dal circuito che abbiamo percorso per visitare il Dean Village. Gli spazi sono piccoli, e anche il menù non è troppo vasto, ma abbiamo mangiato bene: abbiamo provato uova alla Benedict con salmone e pane nero tostato, un toast con broccoli e brie. Con due bottigliette d’acqua e un doppio espresso abbiamo speso 37 sterline, in linea con i prezzi di Edimburgo. Il servizio è stato gentile ed amichevole, e anche abbastanza rapido. Una buona soluzione se si capita da quelle parti.

Place near Circus Lane, a beautiful semi-circular street not far from the circuit we followed to visit Dean Village. The spaces are small, and the menu isn't too vast either, but we ate well: we tried eggs Benedict with salmon and toasted black bread, toast with broccoli and brie. With two bottles of water and a double espresso we spent 37 pounds, in line with Edinburgh prices. The service was kind and friendly, and also quite quick. A good solution if you happen to be in those parts.

The banana bread French toast was inedible. Cream tasted off, complaint was ignored by kitchen. Service was poor. No saucers. Toilets dirty. Needless to say will not be coming back.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I went for brunch with a friend, and we were left standing at the entrance for a long time without any staff acknowledging us. What made it worse was that the staff clearly weren't busy, yet they deliberately ignored the two of us. This made me feel like we were being discriminated against, especially as Asian customers. After what felt like an eternity, a staff member finally approached us and asked where we wanted to sit, only to tell us that there was a 40-minute wait both inside and outside. However, it was obvious that there were plenty of empty tables both indoors and outdoors, but they insisted that two people couldn't be seated. This blatant discrimination made us feel extremely uncomfortable, as if we were being deliberately excluded. What made the situation even more infuriating was that I noticed local customers arriving after us were allowed to go in and be seated immediately, without any of the delays or excuses we were given. This only reinforced my feeling that we were being unfairly treated because of our ethnicity. I want to warn other Asian customers to stay away from this place. The service here is incredibly rude and disrespectful, and no one should have to go through what we did.

Wild to think they share the same turf as the likes of Lannan and Joelato. Such good food about, not here though. Awkward staff. Slow service. Truffle hash browns that not even the finest trained hog would be able to locate a mere suggestion of remnant truffle on. If you focused really closely you could almost taste pepper. Also underseasoned which for fried food is just unconscionable if you’ve ever existed in a kitchen before. Won’t be back. Coffee quite good hence not one star.

Incredible! Absolutely worth the wait to get in here - despite them being very busy, we had lovely service, the atmosphere was great, the coffee was AMAZING (coming from and ex-barista), and the Eggs Benny with Ham was the best I've ever eaten. You must visit!

Cute place to have lunch. They had a pretty diverse menu. The banana French toast was tasty, although quite a heavy dish. The avocado toast with the poached egg was nice. The toast had a slightly burned flavour. The iced matcha latte was really good. Nice spot to have brunch after a walk through Dean Village!

We really enjoyed brunch here while in Edinburgh. I loved the avo toast - truly delicious! Also tried the eggs Benedict, Belgian waffle with blueberry compote, and the banana bread French toast. All wonderful, but the French toast was very decadent, so maybe ask for the cream cheese topping on the side. Anticipated a wait for Saturday morning, but we were seated right away. Very friendly staff and relaxed/casual vibe. Highly recommend!

Quite disappointing. The waffles were soggy and soaked in some type of blueberry mix, the syrup tasted industrial (not maple). The banana bread was drowned in lots of stuff, making it a quite unpleasant experience. Avocado toast and eggs were fine. Erynexpensive for what it is

Food was nice and the guy who welcomed us was friendly. However service was really slow and our servers ignored our area of the restaurant. Appreciate Sunday is a busy time but we had to get up and ask three times over twenty five minutes for a hot chocolate and coffee. We’d finished our food and sat with plates inc front of us during this time. The toilets were not pleasant and dirty which wasn’t a great experience. Only spotted service was added automatically for a party of three after we had paid. More staff or better system is needed to deliver an experience to match the food. I’ll be trying other places in Stockbridge next time.

Tasty food and the staff were mostly very friendly, although one waiter was sarky. The website says no dogs but there were two in the restaurant. The staff patted them and then immediately continued serving food twice.

The food was okay, nothing special, quite bland. The service was not the best, we had to wait for 30+ minutes even though there were empty tables. Also they bring you a spot but no plate for the coffee so you have to use your only tissue to put your spoon on. The knifes are not sharp enough. The atmosphere was also not cosy, it was quite chilly inside and there was a weird smell. It was a disappointing brunch.

A great locals spot with excellent breakfasts and coffee. We found this location by accident after looking for a more touristy restaurant and really enjoyed the true local feel.

Really incredible little place a bit outside of the main tourist areas. Worth the walk and the Eggs Benny is worth waiting for. Great with kids as well.

Pantry/Pantry Events/Pantry Events Edinburgh has merged with Hickory and thats dangerous. Dont book for your events or wedding! Increasing your bill 6 months prior to your wedding and a disgusting, unprofessional service from the former Pantry Events and the now Hickory. Dont book. It took us 6 weeks to get our deposit back after we refused to pay the 15% increase. Venues and suppliers are avoiding this company like the plague. You should also do the same. Pass it on. Avoid. R

Still able to get a place at this hotspot on Saturday without a reservation! The service was friendly, fast and efficient and the food was also very tasty! All this for a reasonable price! The eggs benny are highly recommended 😊

Recently I had a visit to the pantry. The atmosphere was brilliant and we got seated straight away, I started by informing my waitress of my dairy allergy and she even went to the kitchen to check certain dishes for dairy for me and I am obviously aware of cross contamination but I am okay with that. I ordered my food and then a latte with oat milk again mentioning my allergy. I was brought my drink first and after drinking a bit I realised it tasted different. I called over the waitress and asked if it was oat milk and she went “i’m sure it is” and went to double check. She then comes back with a new latte and goes - oh it wasn’t! Not one apology or concern for me that i’ve just drunk a latte with cows milk after specifying my allergy twice, this then caused me to be severely unwell due to consuming straight dairy. No one checked up on me, apologised or seemed to be concerned at all and I was shocked. The cheek to charge me for oat milk on the bill and service charge! I don’t like to make a fuss and the place was busy so I decided to email the restaurant to mention that something serious happened this day due to allergies. I didn’t get one reply or message back from them that it has now been acknowledged, and I would appreciate an apology due to how unwell this made me become. It has been over a week now of waiting for a response, so have moved to publicity as I think it is highly important that those with allergies are aware of the risks dining here.

Food is good, and pricey £4 for a coffee is takint the Micky like 2x breakfast with 2x hot drinks is £40 including their service charge. Worth booking in the morning as there can be a wait.

When I visited at 10 am, they were preparing for open. After looking around Dean Village, I tried again at almost 11. Unfortunately, the time for breakfast was over 11 am. So I couldn't take that. By alternation, I chose the eggbenedict that I hoped.

Located in the hip side of the city, Stockbridge, I like the vibe and the setting already. The food was nice and reasonably priced. I had the waffle with the raspberry couli. I am actually not keen of raspberry and the waitress kindly serve it on the side instead of on the waffles! And I have to say that the couli actually tasted very nice and I finished it in the end lol.

A very pleasant place that we welcomed upon arriving in the city. They treated us very well, the food was very delicious and everything was very healthy. The only downside is that they didn't have beer or a bottle of wine left and they offered us a mini bottle which we thought was too expensive.

I loved what I ordered. The Sunshine on Stockbridge with grilled chorizo. Amazing! So sorry I neglected to take a picture!?
