I’m sure the food was delicious (we usually pop in for a meal every time we visit Leamington Spa) but today at 1.30 pm when we arrived the music was quite loud. Politely asked if the music could be turned down but was told that the music needed to be on - or off - and we certainly weren’t given the option of having it turned off. We left and went to a lovely cafe opposite which was blissfully peaceful.

Excellent "specials"meal of bream. The menu is ok and pretty typical of most pub food venues. The beer is good, HPA being one of my favourites and the sauvignon blanc is very palatable. We waited about 15 minutes for our meal to arrive and the waitresses were pleasant and efficient. The barman is a knowledgeable and friendly person.

I used to love this place change over of owners did not know what they was doing and it was the worst fish and chips I have ever had, please old owners show them the way you did it x I don't like to complain but they need support what to do to help them

Had a great bowl of soup and coupla cups of coffee. Great soup, charming service. And if you're some north-country moron who won't pay with a card but insists on cash I suggest you go quietly about your business without leaving a decent hand-working bunch a bad review on that basis alone.

Proper traditional pub. Stone building with flagstone floors and beams. Friendly staff. Great choice of beers and drinks. Sunny courtyard/beer garden at the rear. Prawn cocktail is awesome. Main courses very tasty - emphasis on locally sourced meat - and portion sizes very generous. Great value for money.

This place was a really nice find on a March Friday evening for a middle-aged but youthful couple visiting Lowestoft. Our B&B recommended the place next door (pink neon lights, fishbowl look), not for us! But right next door is a 'proper' nice pub. Comfortable, clean, and most of all, very welcoming. As soon as we were halfway to the bar, we got a cheery "hello" and "what can I get for you, are you going to be eating" I'm a bit grumpy when people are overly (falsely) friendly. But the young man and young woman who served us got it just right. Left us alone when wanted, and were quick to respond when we asked. The food is simple, (we had "chicken in a bucket') but the portions are good (but not wasteful) and really tasty and fresh. We've never been to Lowestoft before and probably never will again as we were here for a very specific reason, but our visit to this lovely pub turned a 'functional visit to the town into a pleasurable meal/night out. Thank you

We phoned to see when they served food till on a Saturday...said 8.....we arrived about 7.15....3 adults and 1 child....ordered food and drinks at bar....about 10 mins later lady came and said due to u forseen circumstances could only serve burgers...which none of us wanted but as it was so late had to accept it! Sadly didn't enjoy my chicken burger at all! Very disappointed
