Bradford Arms in Shropshire

We were on Holiday in the area and this pud was not far from where we were staying so popped in on the way back from a day out it was very handy as they have food service all day. We had a meal, pudding and drinks.The food was lovely and hot well presented.My husband had the pie and I had the scampi for mains and sticky toffee pudding for after 😋The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed it so we went back again the following night We had the lamb shanks which were to die for so tender. Puddings were rhubarb crumble and Eton mass again these were delicious.The price was good . Lovely old country pub. Definitely would recommend a visit if you are in the area. They were putting up there ready for their Halloween events. They did have a Christmas tree in the porch to advertise their upcoming Christmas events. You could see how much they put in to making the pub welcoming at all times

Popped in for food with my wife after a day out at the British ironworks, the food was amazing, enjoyed it so much we went the next evening for food and drinks, the lamb shanks was amazing, just fell away from the bone, the landlord/landlady was so very friendly, love these old pubs, 100% recommend popping in this old pub, for food and drinks, don't just drive pass it on the main road ,

We're new to the area and are trying out some of the local pubs and restaurants. We had a lovely lunch today and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. There was a warm welcome and service was great. We'll definitely return!

Amazing Sunday dinner, really tasty and fresh. Amazing yorkshires and gravy, super tasty! Lou and Sam behind the bar were super friendly and welcoming. Worth a visit.

My food was lovely the rest had a roast the vegetables were frozen and the roast potatoes the only thing that was nice was the beef not one to complain so payed and left you don’t expect frozen if your paying £17 pounds for a roast dinner it was literally veg roast potatoes and meat the staff were lovely which is why we did not complain but lot of money wasted ☹️

We visited whilst on holiday in the local area. We were seated in the bar area as we had our dog with us, however this was still extremely cosy and comfortable. We both had the steak pie with chips, and it was absolutely stunning! And they certainly don't hold back on portion size - one pie could have fed us both! Will definitely be returning, as we visit the area for holidays frequently.

We stopped off here for a bite to eat on the way to Harlech, Wales. Considering there were only 2 members of staff working and one off (can't remember why), they did an excellent job. Apparently, they have only been running the pub since February i thinknit was, and are trying to get customers back as the previous owners let it go abit. So i'm going to do my bit and say you must tey this pub. The lady behind the bar (also doing the kitchen runs) was very nice and friendly. I had a very generous portion of Hunters Chicken (my go to pub meal), and it was delicious and very filling. Followed by a very nice pint of Wainwright's 😋. My wife had lasagne, which was also very nice and filling. The pub is dog friendly, and allowed both inside and out, the chef even gave our four legged baby a treat, although she turned her nose up at it 🙄. I would definitely recommend this pub, it's a shame we're not local, as I'd come here more often.

The staff are extremely friendly and the food was incredible! I had the lamb shank with mint gravy and it was delicious, my partner had the pizza and the children had a burger and mac and cheese. All of the food arrived within a short period of time and every single dish had plenty of flavour. We will definitely be visiting again!

I have been coming to the Bradford Arms since Lou and Darren took over earlier this year. Since day 1 they have been such amazing landlords and work tirelessly to make everyone's experience of the lovely country pub the best it can possibly be. As a vegetarian they have adapted meals for me, without any fuss or bother. The food you can tell is fresh home cooked and very tasty. Their theme night are also amazing. Tapas night was a huge success. The pub has come alive since they took it over and I am proud to have a local pub that we can go to and be treated to amazing food, banter and an amazing array of gins.

8 of us stopped in for lunch on a Saturday ahead of going to the footy at Wrexham... What a find! Excellent food, definitely recommend the pie, the homemade chilli, burgers, loaded fries, bangers and mash... All very good and reasonable with it.

Cracking food and drinks from a fabulous little gem of a pub. A real family atmosphere with home cooked food and service with a smile. Would highly recommend a visit!

I’d visited here a couple of weeks ago with a few biker friends & had an excellent breakfast, so I thought I’d drop in tonight with a couple of the family, a rare event eating out these days! A lovely pub with friendly personable staff that provided a great service, real ale on tap too. We chose from the main menu, the meals were fresh & tasty, my guests loved their steaks & my lamb was excellent too, as were the desserts. There were 2 other menus available, a comprehensive Bar Snack one & the other for in house handmade pizzas, these looked particularly nice & I suspect they will be our choice on our next visit. Thank you for an enjoyable visit.

Had a lovely meal tonight we were a party of 4 and every meal was lovely and plentiful,husband tried the burger with bacon and macaroni cheese and a clean plate said it all,the chilli con carne was also very good,the other meals also very good 4 empty plates speaks volumes and price very good. The sweets wow stacked pancakes with fresh berries,maple sauce and ice cream a must try. Highly recommend a visit 5🌟

The two people serving at pub were friendly and welcoming. Although after lunchtime they were happy to provide drinks and a hot meal. All served with a smile.

During our holiday in welshpool ans having searched for a pub in Mid Wales the Bradford arms seemed the best bet for lunch one day. We also liked the sound of the nearby canal and the heritage site. We arrived just after opening time with our dog and he was greeted with a bowl of water and a treat while we decided what to eat and drink. The menu,offered a good choice and the excellent cask ales and on tap cider fulfilled our immediate needs The food, excellent steak pie for one and superb faggots and mash for another were obviously locally sourced and served with ample freshly cooiked vegetables. The staff made us very welcome and we enjoyed a pleasnt 90 minutes eating drinking and being looked after by the landlord and staff. I would recommend it to anyone.

Pre booked a table and when arrived with my disabled 71 year old mother was told there was a private function and if she couldn’t get up on a bar stool there was no table for us. To travel from Shrewsbury to pick up my mother for a treat of Sunday lunch to be told this by a very rude and smirking landlord was unacceptable and I will definitely never darken their doors again. Landlord needs lessons in customer service or maybe a career away from the general public and the brewery should certainly think of having a conversation with this guy

We live locally and this was our first visit since the change in owners, but it won't be our last. Really friendly welcome, great service and very tasty food! Oh, and the most important thing... a well-kept pint of Wainwright :-)

Absolutely zero faults!!! Came here for tapas night and it was unbelievable. Clearly freshly prepared food by the chef and all made to order. Friendly welcome and shown to a nice table. Great selection of food. Great welcome and service by Darren. Stunning food and service from Louise and Zoe. Can’t wait to go back to try something else! Book a table as I’m sure they can fill up quick.

What an awesome, family owned place! ❤️ We were a big group of 7 and a dog - the staff were so welcoming and friendly! The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. My dad-in-law actually said it was the best club sandwich he's had in his life 😊 You can just feel the love and care this family is putting into their business. Highly recommend to anyone local or driving through - you'll not regret it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Called in on our way home to Telford after a day out in Barmouth. Nice, friendly welcoming pub. Good to find a pub open on Monday afternoon. Will definitely call in again.

Had checked the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to swing in on our way back to shrewsbury on a Sunday afternoon. Proper friendly bloke behind the bar told us food had finished but we ordered a pint anyway and he kindly offered a warm beef bap and some roasties with gravy. Brings it to the table 5 minutes later and Boom, a beef bap, gravy in a little glass, roasties and a bowl full of meat covered gravy. If the rest of the Sunday dinner is like this then your in for a treat. We'll be dragging everyone back with us for when the kitchen is fully open. They didn't have to sort us out with anything so was dead kind of them. From what we've experienced get yourself in there. Top people, good beer and beef and meaty gravy to die for. Thanks guys, we'll be back!

Stopped en route home from a visit to Wales. We felt really welcome and the food was delicious and good value (baked potato with cheese and beans for one, scampi for the other). Will go there again.

We’ve been here a few times on the way to wales and always enjoyed it. There was a new menu since we were here and the food was absolutely delicious!! Definitely will return again!

We went here for some lunch on a Sunday and it could not have been any better place to be. The staff were friendly and helpful and suggested we sat down and got ourselves a drink as we were just in time for Sunday lunch - it was around midday. They happily accommodated our food intolerances and nothing was too much bother for them. The food was delicious, hot and well presented. Portion size was great though we did manage to squeeze in a pudding too - thank you for changing our Eton Mess to be a toffee, strawberry mess - gorgeous! Would definitely go again to this place next time we are back in the area

We arrived after the kitchen had closed just before closing time so didn't have a chance to try the food which had been recommended to us. We arrived very late, exhausted and dishevelled after a walk went seriously awry due to public footpaths being overgrown and blocked. The landlords were so kind, friendly and helpful and even gave us a lift back to our campsite. Will definitely go back and recommend them highly as a wonderful friendly pub, a highlight of our trip.

Just a quick recommendation to anyone and everyone, who is thinking of visiting the Bradford, well from me it is a huge, you’d be crazy not to YES not just from me, my partner and our big daft dog, always a friendly welcome, amazing home cooked food, but with amazing presentation and that personal touch, even our boy Prince is treated like a King 😉 so support these two amazing, beautiful people Darren & Louise they truly deserve your custom, and you will not be disappointed one bit !! ❤️🐾🐕‍🦺

We had a roast dinner today, and it was amazing. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The Chef came out to ask us if our meal was ok, and the menus cater for everyone, including me as i am a vegetarian, and the chef went out of her way to ask if i would like an alternative to the meat. We will definitely be going back, we really enjoyed it.

We had a nice evening out. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The menu was fairly standard, we opted for scampi and chips, fish and chips and smothered chicken. Our food arrived freshly cooked and hot. The portion size was good. We decided to opt for dessert. The fruit crumble and custard was a hit with my family.We also had the chefs special of American pancakes which missed the mark for me, not quite as luxurious as the menu suggested, but in fairness I did eat it all. If I were to visit again I would probably opt for the crumble. I would recommend this pub as somewhere to get a decent meal.

The new landlord and landlady were very welcoming and extremely attentive without being in your face. The food was excellent, I couldn't fault the fish and chips and my husband enjoyed his burger and fries. We were so impressed we intend to return very soon

Popped in for some tea as i was passing and the food i was served with was excellent, the portion size was great and the staff was so friendly. i was served by the manager who was really polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend. Prices for food was really cheap and affordable ! the food i ordered was £9 and i as definitely worth the money , the food came out relatively quickly ☺️

I came here for a lovely Sunday lunch with my family, the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. As we were waiting to pay there was a very difficult customer at the bar who had also had a Sunday lunch, she did not enjoy hers and was being very rude to the young manager. He reacted very professionally and offered her her money back and a free dessert! I personally found the food very nice and so did my mum and son. We paid and even tipped the server as my son made a very complicated order but everything was correct on his plate.

Thought we would give it a try as taken over recently. Wished we hadn't bothered 45min wait for Sunday diner and it was the poorest food I've ever had put in front of me. The veg from the freezer over cooked and cold not much of it, 1 small overcooked pork shoulder steak not even roast joint of pork, gravy tasteless water. Very very disappointing and embarrassing as we took family. Ruined our day. What a shame. Won't be going back.

Visited yesterday for lunch with my sons. Was greeted by Tom, who I believe is the new manager and we were sat in a lovely bay window with views of the local church. The pub is spacious and clean and very welcoming. I ordered the chicken burger and my sons both had the scampi. It was delicious! Hearty portions and excellent presentation. Hats off to the chef!! Will definitely visit again.

Stopped off here for some lunch after walking up the mountains - got a massive portion of lasagna! - and the land lady gave us lots of local tips for our next trip out to the borders.

Landlady was very helpful and friendly. We had portion of chips and it was good size portion. There were other people dining and the food looked good.

Stayed on the car park Friday 29th December and had lovely evening meal, drinks in the pub next to roaring fire 😊 parking reserved for our Motorhome and although electric hook up was available we didn’t need it, we did ask how much and you just need make donation to charity box. Also pre-ordered breakfast next morning and it was delicious and set us up for our onward journey, thank you to the land lady and all the staff.

Stayed in Knockin for Christmas and had a great experience thanks to the Landlady here. Excellent knowledge of the area and a pleasure to speak to, she recommended some places to visit on my last couple of days and I could not be more pleased with the sights I got to see. Dog friendly pub and the locals are very welcoming, definitely recommend a visit.

Drove past the pub on our way back from Porthmadog. We were hungry and needing the toilet, so was hoping to pass a cafe or a service point. The pub looked open so we pulled up. We asked if the kitchen was open for breakfast and it wasn’t. However the lovely Christine rustled us up some breakfast. Thank you so much for going out of your way and cooking us a lovely breakfast. Ate twice during our stay in the village. The food was excellent on both occasions especially the Sunday lunch.

Stopped here on our way to Abererch for some food and a pint. Great food! (Had the beetroot burger) There wasn't anyone there and so the owner was chatting with us. She is the sweetest lady. Told us about a bunch of local sweet spots to visit on the way. Reminded us there are no fueling stations nearby and chatted for a bit before we were on our way.

Welcomed by a friendly smiley young lady behind, this was 7 at night and we were the only ones in there . In a nutshell the food was low quality and overpriced, I’m no expert in hospitality but the movable advertising boards were leaning against the pub wall , putting them near the rd may help . Honestly we won’t be visiting again

A lovely welcome as soon as we walked through the door. We had stopped for coffee but got tempted by the cakes! The menu looked extensive but we had eaten brunch so were not hungry. The cake was lovely and service quick. The landladies were friendly and welcoming and an asset to the pub.

The beer was overpriced and terrible and was dead only a few people there and seen the food price overpriced too wouldn't recommend

Discovered this lovely pub while staying at a local fishery in our motorhome. The landlady, Chris, made us, and our German shepherd, very welcome. She knows a lot about the local area, and we really enjoyed our chats with her. The barmaid, Bridie, was really lovely and helpful too. Told me about some really good local walks to take the dog. Hopefully see you again next year for another homemade lasagne, and Baileys put in an order for a lamb shank 😄

Stopped here on our long journey home from our holiday in north Wales. We were greeted with a very warm welcome for us humans and our two chihuahuas. We ordered 4 coffees and 4 large breakfasts. The coffee was hot, the breakfasts were huge and really tasty. The local sausages were lovely. We will definitely stop here again on the way to or from Wales

My son and I called here last Thursday evening on our way to our caravan , we were greeted by Christine who was really chatty and friendly , she cooked us a lovely meal as she was the only one working that night , it was really quiet we were the only ones in there . Will certainly be going there again .

We had a stop off here on our way to Wales and got a very nice roast dinner and warm welcome. Staff are super friendly. We decided to have a pud, only to be told that that was free! Delicious - sticky toffee pudding and the best carrot cake ever. Highly recommend.

My partner and I haven’t been here in 10+ years and we came back after driving past a few times on our way to wales. We had a couple of guinesses and I had soft drinks as driving. We also had two slices of cake as we were so tempted. They were AMAZING! I cannot recommend this place enough. If you are local or just passing by. Add it to you list of places to come!

Love this pub, luckily it's local. Great home cooked food, plenty of veggie and vegan options. Very accommodating if you have any dietary needs. Christine and the staff are very friendly making it a great atmosphere.We will be regulars

had the best time here .. there was a jigsaw puzzle on the go and we were welcomed to have a go at .. the land lady was super friendly and the lumpy bumpy cake dessert was delish

Hate to leave a bad review because the landlady is so friendly but the food is now awful. I used to love eating here but maybe a new chef? Because the food is now is not only poor but expensive too. Sadly will not be visiting again 😔

Everything was spot on, food was very nice and arrived quick. The lady was very helpful in suggesting places to visit while we were on our holiday there, grandparents said it was the best steak and ale pie they've had.

after being on the road for a while, we finally found this delightful pub! very nice high quality food, friendly service with a cozy and welcoming interior! was wheelchair accessible with enough room in the car park to safely unload. wish there were more pubs like this!

Had the lamb shank me and my husband very very well cooked. The lady who I think owns it was so friendly and welcoming we live close so will definitely be a regular from now on. If there were 10 stars I'd put 10.

Firstly massive thank you to Christine.m! What a lovely lady! I was in the area last weekend while my daughter attended a school trip but wss not able to stay over. I first went on Saturday evening on the recommendation of my b n b. Was greeted with a warm smile, had a lovely cheese burger and chips and drink for a reasonable price. I went back on The Sundays lunch time greeted with the same smile, had a drink and Christine happily chatted and listened to my fried brain chat rubbish. I went back again on the sunday evening where she happily chatted some more while i waited for my daughter. Would happily recommend to anyone travelling through and stop in . Thank you again 🙂
