Brought the grandkids for some wacky play , the equipment is really good with plenty for the kids to go on Was welcomed by really friendly staff who explained everything clearly We ate in the wacky warehouse , the food was served hot and quickly and was excellent value for money Libby was in charge and oversaw all the food and drinks ,with nothing being to much trouble Will definitely be back

Incredible carvery, probably the best carvery I've personally had. Would deffo come back and deffo recommend. Friendly staff too.

Great pub great food can't fault it....but why o why is the smoking area right by the front entrance and next to the kids play area...I am here now 16 people smoking this can't be right

After having things to do we got to the pub at about 3.20pm. We had gone for a carvery but they don't start serving the carvery until, we were told 4.30pm. We decided to stay, have a drink and the carvery at 4.30pm. We got a drink, and the carvery tickets. Expecting the pub to fill up at carvery time, and with my 88 year old Dad having mobility problems I started to queue at 4.30pm. The carvery wasn't actually ready until 4.50pm. There was 4 of us, Mum, Dad, me and my partner. All the food looked absolutely delicious, and it tasted as good as it looked. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. They also do "doggie" bags containing meat that they wouldn't serve on the carvery at £1.29 a bag, and we took 2 of these home for our greyhound. They also have an offer on (as of 25th September 2024) small carvery £6, medium carvery £7 and large carvery £8. And these are the same price on Saturdays and Sundays. Popped in for a carvery. All tables were either occupied or reserved so I opted for a take-away carvery. A big thank you to Chef James for the food. It was amazing! Will definitely visit again.

We came today to the Wacky Warehouse for a party. We were greeted by Adele who was very friendly and had a smile on her face. All the staff were very nice and helpful. They were very efficient serving the food and cleaning up after. The party food was a great selection for the children. The children really enjoyed it. We would recommend The New Florence for a party.

Perfect place for a family meal. Great menu selection and carvery. Our go to place and the kids love it too! Would definitely recommend the carvery!

Me and my wife came here to watch the football, when we got here we were told we had to reserve a table. We were gutted until glen mentioned that he could put us on a table by a screen. He was amazing and very polite, made our night

The last time I wrote a review for this establishment, I gave it a 5 star. Unfortunately, tonight I'm reluctant to give our meals a 2 star. We all chose to have a standard carvery, however, the roast potatoes, in particular, were awful, they had obviously been over cooked and left to stand for hours.The parsnips were greasy and soggy and the Yorkshire puddings were crumbly and hard. The only decent thing about our meal was the meat, very nicely cooked but Unfortunately you receive a very meagre portion.

Came for a family lunch eater weekend and had an amazing experience. The food was lovely and the staff were very helpful. Victoria was lovely and made sure we had a great visit. Definitely will visit again

Old this pub is family orientated however, in the soft play I had attended at five-year-old birthday party. This then very quickly turned wrong. Multiple children attending. This party had came to me upset as a 15 to 16-year-old girl had thrown softball at them, hurting the younger children in my eyes this is seen as unacceptable, the staff ended nothing to protect the children or remove them from the soft play when you go to the soft play. Just make sure that you keep an eye on your children as there is older individuals in this soft play that are willing to do anything that they can to upset your child.

Food is always delicious with so much choice on the menus or fantastic carvery. The food it always hot and fresh and the choice of vegetables in the carvery is far better than most other carvery’s. Way cheaper too. You can’t go wrong.

Food great and Meat portions very generous however the poor young lady waitress might as well of been the only one one working as she was the only competent member of staff on shift.

Popped in for a few drinks to meet friends. Glen greeted us at the bar he was very pleasant, although busy he was still attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Glen and team

Haven't been here for many years so thought I'd give it a go and I'm glad I did. We had carvery choice of 3 meats and plenty of veg but for me the star was the Yorkshire pudding. It was so big that hubby and I had half each and there was still lots. I don't usually have yorkies but I'm glad I did a it was lovely and crispy not chewy. Not overpriced either £7.79 for medium plate. Will certainly be back. There is also a menu with alternatives if you didn't want carvery.

I’ve been a regular at The New Florence for well over twenty years so forgive me for being slightly biased, but it’s only recently I’ve started popping in for breakfast, and I must say it’s very good, everything perfectly cooked for my liking, especially the bacon which is epic. Highly recommended!

Took a last minute dash to Wacky Warehouse today for the kids to play and for some tea. Carvery was nice but Ty and Cay were brilliant engaging with the kids and me! We have been previous times when Ty and Amber have been working and I'd give it 5* for their level of service, dedication.

Staff are blunt wouldn’t let me daughter in the wacky who is only 11 but tall when we go all over the country to the green kings never coming back

Such an Amazing morning. £5 per child, loads of activities and crafts, a full cooked breakfast, games and a free play in the wacky. So good!!! The kids absolutely loved it. And so worth the money.

Come for a meal with my family and the service was shocking! We ordered on the app and waited around 20 mins just for the drinks to arrive. The meals were poor quality and no check back was done to see if everything was okay. I ordered my son a kids brownie which takes no longer than 10 seconds in the microwave it took again 15-20mins just for a kids brownie to come! When it was chased up the staff were all stood around talking! Will not be returning any time soon.

We attended for lunch and food took ages to come out. Food average. No check back done. Order a child’s brownie and ice cream and 15 mins later I had to ask a member of staff to chase this up. Staff too busy talking to each other than concentrating on the guests. Will not be returning.

As an ex member of staff, I left under good terms I decided to go for lunch with a friend. Only one member of staff was polite and as we were leaving I over heard the manager questioning the member of staff as to what I said. I certainly won't be returning neither will my family. Regardless of me being an ex member of staff I am still a paying customer and deserve to be treated as one.

Wonderful service. The 3 of us had ordered carveries and my 2yr old boy was kicking off and the waitress offered to get my son son vegetables from the carvery to calm him down because he was so hungry and there was a line for the carvery at the time. She also got him some colouring stuff

Really great carvey and partner loves the jumbo chicken. Made a mistake with desert but gave it us with no extra charge - really satisfied will eat here again. Thank you

Visited for a midday carvery with family including a toddler. Place was clean and it appeared to be short staffed - but saying that the staff that were on duty were very good. The meat was lovely plentiful and that’s unusual for a carvery so I was happy about that - the only problem was they use frozen roast potatoes which really lets down the carvery as they aren’t nice at all.

Out for a birthday celebration . Wonderful customer service , matched by amazing food . Had a wonderful day and will recommend to friends . Thank you .

Lovely food, served in a timely manner. Cost effective for a family eating out. 2 ate from the menu and 2 had carvery and it was all nice.

We come here regularly as a family. Initially, the drinks were wrong, but it was quickly rectified and the staff were lovely. Very nice food until I found some raw chicken in my curry. It doesn't happen often. Cheesecake was beautiful. Overall, it was a lovely visit and I can't wait to come again.

Myself and a friend had planned a little day out with my little boy, we went in to the wacky warehouse with him and the staff member on duty Natalie was extremely friendly and chatting which is always nice to see! When then proceeded to go in the main area for some food and were served by Lauren, she was extremely polite and well mannered, would happily be served by her again!

We have been coming to new Florence for a few years now as its our local and we love it here. Always welcoming and very friendly staff. We came in a few nights ago and the food wasn't the best which is unusual. We asked to speak to someone and the waitress Corran came over. We couldn't fault her in any way whatsoever. She was very friendly and extremely helpful and most importantly she actually listened to us and understood the issue we had. For me, having food the one time that may not of been 100% doesn't mean i wouldn't go back. The waitress was one of the best I've had in a very long time and for that I'll happily return because the service couldn't of been better.

Visited the Flo Sunday 27th for our Sunday treat. Cheery welcome from Emma.we had the carvery, and once again it was beautiful, and hot. Well looked after by all the staff . They checked back with us to see if everything was ok. Lovely staff and always smiling. Would definitely recommend The Flo to everyone thinking of coming. Thank you team Flo. Will be back.

So glad the carvery is back to normal. Think it was Alex that served us yesterday, pleasant and not 'mean' lol when carving the meat like some places. Staff have always been good and nice to see the Florence have kept most of the staff from before covid.

Me and my wife visited with our 2 young children after a busy day in alton towers. We received friendly service from the staff throughout our visit and all food was enjoyed by the family. There was a mix up with the order that was an easy mistake and it was quickly amended with no hassle. Thank you James, Emma, Lauren and Corrin.

Booked a table for 6 (4 adults 2 children) in advance for in-laws anniversary. Easy to book and met with a welcome at the entrance. Then things changed, the table were taken to was set for 5 and rather small, had to source my own 6th chair. Asked waitress for 2 sets of children's cutlery, got 2 adults and 1 children's set, so had to ask again. Placed the order via the app as recommended by the waitress 4 adult carverys and 2 children's meals of the kids menu plus drinks for all. We sat for a while before getting our carvery meals to give time for the kids meals to be cooked. We got our carverys and after 20 mins of waiting, no kids meals or drinks, so asked the waitress who advised 5 mins, after another 10 mins now 30 mins since ordering we chased up the kids meals and drinks with the manager who said we should of been told there was a 30 minute delay on food, and it would be five minutes, by which time we were finishing our carverys, after 40 minutes the kids meals and drinks arrived. We asked if we could have a glass with ice for 1 of our kids drinks (can) to our amazement the waitress returned with a pint glass full of ice, how many 7 year olds drink pop out of a pint glass. We also had missing food from the kids meals that we had to chase up. All in all not a good experience, needs staff that are switched on and management that can organise.

Visited 2 weeks ago for an anniversary meal with family, didn’t have a very good experience, got in touch with them, an I received a lovely telephone call from Hannah who invited us all back, so we’ve been back today an all of us have had a lovely meal, Thankyou so much to Hannah an the Team….

Visited today with my family, we were greeted by Sam, who was really lovely and friendly. We were going to go and have food in the restruant however she informed us we could eat in the wacky which was even better.The girls who were in the Wacky were very friendly, Emily brought our food over to us and made sure we had everything we needed. She was great, nothing was too much trouble. Service was fantastic, will definitely be visiting the wacky again. Thank you

Came for a mealwith my friends and family and have nothing bad to say about the New Florence. Sam on the host stand was amazing, couldn’t do enough for us- from the minute we walked through the doors she welcomed us with a smile- and spoke to my little girl. She is a very valuable asset to the pub. Also went into the wacky with my daughter and Hannah was absolutely amazing can’t fault her at all. Her attitude is amazing and she works so incredibly hard. WOW! Absolutely amazing! I can’t fault any of the staff on shift tonight, meg greeted us at the door with a wonderful smile and nothing was too much for her! She is ace! She was so chatty with the little ones too which made it that little bit better! Meg is an absolute star and deserves recognising ! I will 10000% be returning very soon thank you to everybody for an amazing visit!

Been too the Florence many times and never had a bad meal, the carvery is always really good, staff are pleasent and helpful especially Megan who is always smiling!!!

We travelled far to go to Alton towers and stupidly didn’t eat at the theme park. So when we left, we were starving! We had tried a few pubs before I searched for Greenie King pubs and this pub came up. When we arrived they were so welcoming, we sat ourselves down. Ordered through the app which was very easy, service was very quick, staff were so helpful! Food was delicious, drinks were amazing. Couldn’t thank the staff enough for their wonderful service and kind nature. If we ever were to come to Alton again, we would definitely come here.

Popped in with the family, steph in the wacky was amazing couldn't do enough for us, unfortunately they weren't serving food but she did take me to hannah who got us a table straight away in the restaurant , she was a bubbly girl, Sam and Nat served us on seperate occasions and again were so friendly and helpful, overall a great experience and food was delicious

Upon arrival I took a seat and waited to see a member of staff. When I did, I asked if table service was available. I got told it wasn’t but Leah made an exception due to my circumstances. This is some of the best service I have received. This made my meal more enjoyable and it was a lot easier to order than it normally would be. Food arrived very quick and I was impressed with the quality of meat in the burgers. Top job.

Outstanding day out at the Florence from minute arrived to the minute we left, Hannah was lovely so friendly, happy and bubbly. Meg was just as great so happy to be there. The food was just as good cavrey was spot on served by Swift. Thanks for good meal with Outstanding service see you soon

These guys really have got it right, as soon as we walked through the door we got greeted by a lovely young lady Melissa, she showed us to a table and saw that we had everything we needed, really polite and welcoming , nothing was too much trouble to her, a definite plus. The carvery was also top notch served by a really friendly chef, we ordered the medium carvery and it was massive, choice of three meats and you can have all three of you like. All this, great service, great food at a great price is a winner.

James and Natalie are very helpful, I go there very often with my 2 Yr old son and they're always attentive, getting the key to the nappy changing toilet cubicle and bringing fresh water for my boy and making sure tables were clear of food and drinks. Carvery is delicious, especially the onion gravy

Really poor meal. Medium rare sirloin steak well done. Onion rings were dough, halloumi fries were crisps, peas were solid, chips very cheap, grilled tomato was fresh but not grilled. Kids meal poor too, cheap sausage, cheap beans and rock hard mash. Pint of IPA was quite nice and Wacky warehouse staff lovely. Horrendously understaffed in WW they cant do everything expected of them. Amazed and very grateful when I left them a tip as they never get them despite doing a lot of the ordering/waiting duties etc. 2 stars rather than 1 because of the WW staff.

Me and the other arf called in for a meal on the 16/8/21 must say the pub is well run by nicky and her team under the circumstances enjoyed our meals and our chat with the team who are always very pleasant and welcoming especially one particular young man James always greets you with a smile and can't do enough for you he's a credit to the company thanx all at the flo

Visited the wacky for the first time in a while with my 2 children and my niece. As always it was the perfect family day. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. We visited the restaurant for dinner after and it the food was lovely. Hot, tasty and well presented and there was a large range on offer. My children were given crayons to keep them entertained for the short wait for the food. Will 100% be making this a regular trip. Megan who served us was well mannered and pleasant young lady. You can clearly see she loves her job. 5* plus

Visited the Florence with family had a lovely meal and our waitress Melissa was very friendly and helpful making sure we had everything we needed.

Although some staff were helpful, some staff were the polar opposite. The food all round ranged from concerning to average. -sometimes we would be waiting a long time for app orders to be delivered. We would chase this now and again. The restaurant was quite empty too.-food orders would come without plates etc-some food, chicken, was cold in the middle. Appeared to be cooked, then frozen, reheated incorrectly.-some food orders arrived incomplete, like 4 x deserts for 4 x kids, only 2 x turned up, we would have to chase staff etc. They did not seem to have a process to ensure the completed order was altogether.-Womens toilets were 'disgusting' - mens were fine however.-my son had fish and chips, which he did not like, said it tasted 'odd'I found to cost to be quite high for soft drinks and it was hard to order things like 'white wine with ice / spritzer'

We booked a table well in advance as there was a party of us. I should have seen what was coming as all the disabled parking spaces were full of cars none of which had blue badges. We were greeted at the entrance by a pleasant young lady who showed us to our tables. Another lady approached us to inform that there was an hour delay on the food and told us to download the App to order which we all did. We thought that it was a good idea to us that the children go to use the Wacky Warehouse but of course it was closed for a private party so no joy there. Eventually some of the food arrived but as there was another table with the same number as ours in another part we received theirs and so had to wait again for ours.

Fabulous morning in the Wacky Warehouse with my grandchildren who have never been before due to Lockdown they are 2 and 20 months old.They had an absolute ball!! Loved it! Into the pub for a spot of lunch which was great as well. Fab customer service

No welcome just blank stares , we walked ourselves to the table and ordered from the app a member of our party went to the toilets, and they were disgusting , a pair of men’s underwear were on the floor that were soiled along with a pool of urine I asked the staff if they could clean it as it’s not a nice thing to look or smell. Our food came with 2 chick and mixes with two different chickens on it, I asked the waitress which one was which in which she replied they were both the same I told the waitress that they shouldn’t be and be two different types of chickens she then looked at the chickens once again and realised they were two different ones as we were eating my friend realised that the Bbq sauce had Jack Daniels my friend is a recovering alcoholic and I didn’t order the Jack Daniels sauce for that reason I am well aware that the alcohol burns off as the sauce cooks however the taste for the alcohol is still there, as we were eating we also noticed a curly hair on the plate I made them aware of this it then took 10 mins to recieve money back. safe to say we will not be returning

I come here often with my large family and have at times noticed chaotic staff , wondering around clearly needing direction as they looked lost . However I came today and the staff were fantastic and were all clearly getting directed by a lady called sam who I did comment too ,about her smooth operation of the staff working with her ! Fabulous and professional Sam made the meal great thanks

Visited Sunday, instead of Monday!! We had our normal carvery and it was amazing! Couldn’t fault anything on our plate. Piping hot, and the beef was beautiful and tender. The parsnips and all the veg we had were delicious. It was really busy, but didn’t have to wait long at all. The staff were excellent and we were looked after really well.Thanks again Team Flo. Went today to have a family meal with the children and the mother. I always eat here but we are seriously thinking about going else where. Son asked for medium rare steak it came out looking as if its been cut from the cow. Called Sam the team leader on the floor over and she quickly sent it back to be cooked, was asked if we would like a new piece, i said no dont waste food just cook it more(wish i didnt now.) steak came back looked ok son had a couple of bites and he had to go to the bathroom he felt sick. Sam again couldnt have been more sorry about it, and gave my son a free pudding (which he loved). I really think they need to either get a new chef or send him away for further training.

Sam was amazing as usual and the wacky waerhouse staff was amazing and if your looking for a place for the kids and where you can have a catch up with friend then this is the place and if your looking for a drink and outside park then this is the place. Food is amzing and family friendly. Can't comment them more if i try amazing 5*

Excellent visit carvery outstanding Services was excellent seems it was busy there was a wait and mix up on order we received drinks by them as a complementary couldn't fault them. Definitely be returning.

Visited for the first time since the new menu really loved the choice Great and professional service from James Brooks

Not what I expected . The starter of garlic mushrooms were like chewing or try to chew on a marble . The sweet chilli dip is a no no , wasn't no traditional garlic maionase offered . The main was Just as bad I cannot say no more , but no chef would let that leave their kitchen . Very disappointed.

Lunch time meal. Not offered salt, vinegar etc when meal came. (Sat outside) Went inside to ask waitress for condiments (same waitress that served us) she said she’d bring them out. Never came. Lettuce in salad was horrible, out of date. Peas on daughters meal like pellets. Shame really. Enjoyed sitting outdoors listening to pleasant music

Wonderful service from Sam the supervisor, I was so depressed until I walked in the pub and she so welcoming I left all my worries at the door, wow she's great, she needs a promotion ASAP.

Visited on Thursday for a meal with my family. Sam the waitress was really polite and helpful nothing was too much trouble for her food came quickly and was delicious. Its well worth a visit if anyone's thinking about going. You won't be disappointed. Good food good staff and good atmosphere.

Watched most of the England games at the pub and just need to say what a cracking and professional job the team at the pub did throughout.In undoubtedly extremely busy times the team performed brilliantly and kept everyone ‘topped up’ with drinks even at crucial moments The new food menu is also excellent and the service from kitchen to table was spot on. I can whole heartedly recommend this pub for drinking, eating, socialising and generally having a great day/evening out.Well done, top job!
