The best restaurants serving British food in England

The worst chippy I’ve been to, microwaved pies, dry chips and peas look like they had been regurgitated. Never going again. If I could give zero I would.

Had the pleasure of staying at the Blue Bell Inn over night for work in the area. Wish the job was longer so I could stay another night or two. Staff were helpful, lovely and the food was tasty. Would definitely come back.

We had a superb dinner at the Clock House. Amazing food, service and wine. Attentive staff made the whole experience a real treat for us

Lovely lunch on our return Brockenhurst and Britannia Thai. Friendly service, lovely dishes including lamb massaman. Really glad we returned to this lovely restaurant.

Absolutamente excepcional. Honestamente puedo decir que no podría fallar la comida de todos modos, Llevo esperando para comer aquí bastante tiempo y siempre ha reservado pero se las arregló para entrar. Si lo hubiera hecho, criticaría que esperáramos más de 40 minutos para que llegara nuestra comida, por mucho que sé que no es comida rápida, creo que fue un poco largo esperar. Volveré enseguida.

Terrible sunday lunch on Father’s Day,small amount of meat,vegetables,Yorkshire puddings and the gravy was like water.we were here before lockdown and had a fabulous Sunday lunch that’s why we returned.what a let down,staff advised us it was new owners.the best place in this area for Sunday lunch is the peacock by far....we will not recommend or return.

Excellent food. One of the best pub restaurants in the area imo. Good, friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. Reasonable prices.

Birthday meal with family starter Asian beef salad stringy beef burnt crispy coating and covered in fried onions with soy sauce dreadful. Main lamb was OK dessert was Eaton mess more like Eaton mush. Over priced and pretentiousness. Great waiting staff very friendly

A party of 8 oap went one if our ladies with Parkinsons We pre booked so that was goid as very busy. We all went for the 2 for £11.99 4 hunters chicken 2 lasagne 1 scampi I gammon and pineapple So a varied selection. I went for the lasagne severed with side salad and garlic bread piping hot really tasty. The hunters chicken went down a treat no complaints there. Ham every bit eaten and good Scampi I was told top notch. 8 happy customers. The staff were brilliant and very accomadating. I'm sorry but when we all go out i usually collect a tip for them but did not have time as our taxi ride home came Rest assured next time apologies for not doing this Thank you for a wonderful night.

Kindly fitted us in last minute as we had been let down by another pub we had booked at. Staff friendly and helpful, service good and a wide choice of menu and good value.Food came quickly and was delicious. Would recommend the steak pie! Will be returning this week.

Such a lovely well rounded place !! truly the heart of the village offering a wide variety of local and home made dishes along with plenty of board games, toys and books for families to enjoy. i visit often with friends to enjoy the pool table and dartboard, sit by the fire and try local beers ciders and ales - we feel so lucky to have this spot for us in the village

Popped in here whilst we waited for a flight to arrive at the airport. Unplanned, and unbooked. Nice welcome. Good selection on the menu. The food is brilliant! Really really nice! Despite being full, I had the pavlova too... and I'm glad I did. Awesome place.

Una vez mostrado arriba a la sala de ginebra (que abrió a las 5 pm) tuvimos una encantadora tarde de cócteles y pastel. El servicio era excelente y el bar era un placer ver en el trabajo y obviamente muy experimentado y fantástico en su trabajo. Estábamos utilizando un vale Virgin Experience 'Tipples and Treats' y sin duda lo recomendaría.
