Another excellent pub with a fantastic drinks selection. Great atmosphere, and a great menu. Have not tried all the food yet, but will soon. Reasonable prices for a city centre.

I had a fantastic time here on my birthday - the staff had decorated the table beautifully and the inside of the restaurant is already pretty with fairy lights etc. The service was great and I even got a free cocktail for my bday :) They catered for 14 guests and the food was good. Very happy and will be going back.

We had a fabulous Christmas event. I'd booked a table for myself and work colleagues. Pre order was all correct when food arrived. Menu choices were really great catering to all dietary requirements. Food was delicious. Had some fab comments from party that it was the best festive dinner they have had. Ambience was good and decor was on point. Staff were fabulous, and very attentive. Highly recommend

We booked a large group for Christmas and the staff were incredible in the lead up and on the day. They were very understanding with changes to orders, dietary requirements and were so flexible on the day when some people were a little late. The food was tasty and it's so beautifully decorated and festive. A BIG thank you to the staff!!

I booked this for our Works Christmas Party this was the second time at the venue, the food was brilliant and plenty of it, the staff were very attentive even though the place was extremely busy. Will definitely look to book for next year. Highly recommended.

We visited for our Work Christmas Dinner. Great service and friendly staff. The meals were very generous portions!! We asked for our wine to be put on a separate bill and after settling the food bill we forgot to pay for the wine. My colleague emailed to let them know, then spoke to a member of staff the next day. She was very understanding and said we could pop in next time we're in Leeds. We settled the bill 3 days later and just want to say......thank you!

Had a wonderful Christmas party night - food was lovely, service was polite and attentive - the food servers and the bar staff were lovely. Great tunes playing in the background. All in all it was one of the better work Christmas parties we’ve had. Would definitely recommend. And special shout out to Andy and the team for looking after us so well! You did the place proud!

Booked a table for 4 to have pre theatre meal and drinks. Despite the team preparing for a Christmas Works do, we received a warm welcome and were offered a choice of menu. Food, as always, was good and great value house wine. My go to place for dining in Leeds City centre.

Came for Sunday lunch prior to a visit to Leeds arena. Never been before. Really enjoyed the beef, veg and trimmings. Had to wait almost half an hour to be served as seemed to be really short staffed and our waiters were running round but the food was worth the wait.

I was organising the Christmas lunch for my workplace colleagues (group of 20). The booking was straightforward. Everyone was selecting their meals via the link. On the arrival, we have been shown the table and ordering/paying for drinks at the bar. The food was tasty, and portions were huge. The only "but" I have were: 1) we were waiting for the food for half an hour, then my colleague went to the bar and was told they were waiting for us to tell them when we are ready; 2) Our table was split into two and some of us were sitting with the back to our colleagues.

My first impressions of The New Conservatory were beautiful interior. They had comfy seats and a nice atmosphere. Staff were very attentive. We dined from the festive 2 course menu and although they were very busy the food came out fast. I opted for the deep fried Brie and turkey, both very generous portions and tasty. I would highly recommend!

Really enjoyable evening, the food was delicious and lots of it. Everyone commented how good it was on our party. Yes it was busy in the pub but we still had very good service throughout.

Oh dear!! The whole evening was a disaster. We had a table booked for 4pm but arrived slightly early. We were shown to our seats and then left there, at 4.30 we decided to go to the bar and order some drinks. Finally at 4.45 some one came to ask if we were ready for our food (we had pre ordered from the Christmas menu) the starters came, 5 of us ordered soup and not one of us ate it. It was shocking, tasteless and cold. The main courses came, the mushroom risotto was like porridge and swimming in oil. The salmon risotto was mainly bones, the butternut squash wellington was like stuffing and the veggies were burnt or like rubber. Everything was cold. We did complain and the manager was extremely apologetic and deducted the meals not eaten from the bill. It was a busy night and they obviously took on more than they could handle.

First time I've been to the New Conservatory. Was quiet when we arrived but good atmosphere. Really good happy hour offer especially as it was 4-10pm - great value and good options to choose from.

Only jumped in for a quick drink and snack as part of a pub crawl. Nice atmosphere inside. Quality and value of the snacks was excellent. Would visit again if I get back to Leeds.

Spur of the moment decision to have lunch here. I’m so glad we did. We had the Pizza and drink lunchtime meal deal. All I can say is delicious delicious delicious. The mushroom topped Pizza was amazing. Cooked to order. We were on a time limit but this was not a problem. Can’t wait to go back again soon.

Food very nice. We had wings, fish pie and a burger. Good range of wines at reasonable price. Had nice buzz about it. Lovely decor. Service good. All very good overall but nothing exceptional. Would go again though.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing. The food was perfectly cooked with good portions. The staff we great, and we were allowed our dog with us. I would very highly recommend.

I’ve been here a few times with my friends and came here on a date, honestly the best service every single time. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a bar, they offer a wide variety of drinks at a reasonable price. The food is also high quality and quick to come. The porn star martinis here are the best I’ve ever had (probably why I love this place so much) There was a DJ there playing when I went and that really added to the atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and they made me evening rather special.

Great atmosphere, really efficient and friendly service from all of the staff but especially from Mikey who went out of his way to recommend us the perfect cocktails even though he was very busy! The drinks were excellent and very well presented. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Loved the experience. Cocktails were great, the dirty fries were filthy good and to top it all off, Olivia was amazing. Good service and she got involved. Absolute great service and she should be given a right pat on the back.

We've been celebrating our friends 50th, and we've had a couple of gags in the night getting her banners and drinks. Olivia has been photo bombing us all night, and has been a real sport helping us celebrate. She was kind, and engaging!Drinks are great as always, and sitting out in the sun in the middle of Leeds is always a plus!Great night!

Saturday afternoon the outside looked very quiet so we took the opportunity and took a table. First thing I noticed was how small the table was (there were 3 of us). After 10 minutes or so a young waitress asked if we were here for drinks or food and eventually brought a single menu. She didn’t ask whether we would like to order a drink whilst viewing the menu and went to leave but I “collared” her and ordered a coke and 2 J2Os. After another 15 minutes we had not been revisited so we called the same waitress who then took our order for 2 x Fish & Chips and Mussels. Still no drinks. At this time another customer approached the waitress complaining they had ordered drinks ages ago and several other people who arrived after them had been served but they had not. We waited another 15 minutes and still no drinks when a more senior waitress asked if everything was okay. My wife explained that it was not acceptable to still be waiting for drinks after over half an hour, the waitress asked what we had ordered and offered to remove the drinks from the bill and then she disappeared. Within 5 minutes the original waitress returned with the bill stating that all outside tables must pay on ordering. I refused and stated that we had not even received the drinks we ordered to which she said we didn’t order any drinks. We refreshed her memory and after a few minutes another waitress asked what flavour J2O we would like. Then the meals arrived.With no cutlery. So we waited another 5 minutes before they arrived, by now the table was filled with the dishes (still no drinks) so the waitress offered to put the box with the cutlery and condiments on the floor (no salt by the way-fish and chips!).All meals were lukewarm and the mussels had at least a quarter of the shells broken, so I couldn’t eat the broth The fish and chips were not appetising enough to be eaten so were wasted. We should have known as the gentleman at the next table had only eaten one of his chicken wings.The drinks finally arrived. No comments from the waitress when she eventually removed the uneaten meals. To make things worse it started raining heavily and after a few minutes the joint of the parasols gave way and we were deluged. We went for a MacDonaldsIn summary service - appalling Food - appalling Value - £40+ expensive Location - good unless it rainsComfort - poor and very cramped

We were a group of six at 7.30pm. We ordered starters and mains. My moules marinier starter contained the smallest mussels I've ever seen. The cream sauce as bland and had no taste of white wine, garlic or shallots.My main of burger didn't arrive, a steak pie did which was not what I ordered. When this was questioned, we were informed that the kitchen had now closed. No apology. It was as if that was that.So, one my friends swapped the fish and chips she had ordered for the steak pie I hadn't. Now I know I didn't order fish and chips but if I had, I would have appreciated chips which were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, which they weren't. Also, the measly accompaniments of mushy peas and tartare sauce, two teaspoons worth of each, were laughable.To top it all, we had two dogs visit our table and mooch around beneath it. One black labrador and a chihuahua sized dog. I assume these dogs belonged to members of staff. If so, not on. If not, not on.

Looking for an afternoon drink we asked if we could take an outside table, the staff were very accommodating. We spent a very happy hour sitting watching the world go by having consumed a couple of refreshing G&T's each, the bar staff were very efficient and the prices very good. Having enjoyed our trip to the Theatre later we dropped in for a drink at the end of the day and encountered the same friendly welcome and efficiency from the staff, highly recommended outside bar area.

Came here for dinner before going to a show. My partner and I love reading and charity shops so sat in the book corner (bought a couple of really good books). It was a sunny day out and so on the way in there were people drinking and enjoying the sun, which was equally as nice an atmosphere. The food was amazing, both luxurious and comforting. We ate from the early evening menu (garlic mushrooms and a burger, mussels and fish pie) and the value for money was great, though I was disappointed that the website mentioned a happy hour which had been scrapped due to covid. Will be going again as soon as I have an excuse.

We pre booked a visit for drinks only. We were welcomed at the entrance and offered outside or inside seating. We opted for the inside and found only a few customers had chosen thus option. Service was well organised and friendly staff were on hand promptly to take our orders. Will be calling in again when we're next in Leeds.

Booked a table for drinks and paid a deposit, tried ringing for three hours before booking commenced to advise we were unfortunately going to be late due to unforeseen circumstances and try to change times or possibly dates and not one person or call answered... we then received a message saying deposit taken!?!? Bad communication and no customer service. Unfortunately won’t be going again which is disappointing as the bar is lovely.

We booked a table for my friends 60th and when we asked for the food menu we were told ‘Oh sorry, we’re not doing food, the chef has gone home early’. We had to make a hurried booking at an alternative restaurant. Dreadful customer service!!!

Lovely to visit again after lockdown. It was always our go to place and although a reduced menu our favourites were served and did not disappoint. Food was as delicious as ever and a good choice of house wine. Great friendly atmosphere and staff attentive and efficient. So glad it has returned to its natural prominent position on the Leeds scene. We will be returning soon.

Thanks to the staff for booking my table with several texts back and forth had a great night great service no food this time but it's our go to spot for food when we visit Leeds I would have given full stars but there was a dog sat under a table near us in the restaurant that the family were feeding and the dog was paraded out a couple of times and back it just put me off a bit.

Lovely lunch as always in the library. Been many times snd never had any issues. Food was gorgeous, came quickly and service great although not many staff. Would recommend to anyone.

Booked a table easily and chose to sit indoors. Nice decor but in places a bit dark. One of our meals had to go back as it wasn’t hot in the middle but quickly rectified. Ordered a pint if Amstel lager but it didn’t taste as it should but again quickly rectified Staff we’re very polite and service excellent

Charlotte at the New Con is the best bar manager in Leeds. I booked a table for the footie and there was a slight mix up on my part, and I was a bit devastated so didn’t have a seat. She literally went above and beyond and moved a table right to the very front for me to sit on. Not only that but she was helpful and just really nice generally. My experience in Leeds is that the staff don’t often care at all, but not here, she has such a lovely personality and if anything needs sorting via the waitresses she comes from behind the bar and sorts it herself! Can’t commend highly enough, if only all bar managers were exactly like that!!

We pre-booked our table and initially we were seated and it was freezing due to air conditioning then reseated near the bar. The atmosphere wasn’t there for me, we asked to seat outside not only due to the weather but for the atmosphere but was advised only seating inside only.Will see what it’s like next time we go out in a couple of weeks to see if some kind of normality is back (within reason)

I really loved this place so much before covid, would even have named it in my top 3 but visited on 4th June and sat outside on the terrace. There are no offers on at all and they have cut the menu right back. The nachos, sea bass and lasagne was my favourite pre covid and none of them are on the menu anymore. The service wasn’t great either. Staff were around and kept walking past us without taking a drinks order when we were seated. The food was very average compared to before and not worth the money. Also no sooner had we finished eating the Bill was brought to us even though we had the table booked for at least another hour. I’m really sorry to say this but I wouldn’t recommend this place anymore . I hope they can pull it back and get it how it was before covid hit.

We have always eaten here ,so was excited to come back , which was short lived , the food was not really up too scratch at all , we had pizza , chicken burger , beefburgers, not worth 14 and 13 pounds , don't mind paying but they all fell short , won't be going back , the service was OK though , dissapointing

Booked bank holiday monday what a find.Very dog friendly restaurant. All staff brilliant especially Charlotte. They treated my elderly little dog fudge with such genuine fondness giving her a treat and water . Service spot on including following government guidelines for Covid 19 requirements.I ordered a steak and ale pie chips and mushy peas as a solo visitor from North Devon I was a little apprehensive with chips and gravy but I am now converted. The pie was probably the best pie ever tasted. I at times get frustrated in restaurants as food is often bland and tasteless definitely not the case at the new conservatory. I was not keen eating out as a lone female and dog but all the staff made me feel less apprehensive. Certainly will return when next in Leeds. Thank you again

Had a fab afternoon here. Drinks are good and great area in the centre of town. We had a fab waitress called Olivia couldn’t be more helpful and great crack. Tell you the best places go for a drink.

The atmosphere in this place was lovely!! The drinks were amazing - the flat white martini especially - and we only got onion rings but the portion was so big and excellent value for money. Our only issue was the slowness of service at times and how little we were seen to throughout the 3 hours we were there, but that could’ve been because they were having to contend with inside and outside seating. Other than that, we loved it in here!!

Came here for a quick drink with a friend. We sat outside which was lovely. Staff were friendly overall despite us receiving a short et passionate lecture from the bouncer on how bars may close again soon due to Covid, not that we had done anything or suggested otherwise. Not an awful lot of drinks to offer - just beers and ciders so not much for sophisticated ladies such as ourselves. Joking aside, very nice place!

This seems to be the place everyone goes just after work, it really started to empty out by about 7:30pm. The bar staff were attentive - given it was table service without an app they were on the ball with checking in on us. Food looked good although I've only ever been in for drinks. £5 a pint and £4 for bottles of beers, about what you would expect for city centre.

This is a big favourite with my friends so we chose to eat here on the easing of lockdown.Dining was outside and it was just a bit nippy! The menu was limited but we chose two of the pizzas to share between the four of us and it was ample. The pizzas are huge and very tasty indeed.We will be back here again in the not too distant future.

Our waiter Luke was really accommodating, he would regularly check on us to make sure we were ok for drinks and our service was really quick when we ordered food. I am really impressed with the service i received

There was ample seating area as we couldn’t go inside. A new menu was available. I can totally recommend the Portobello pizza. It was served hot, garlicky and very very tasty. The Sauvignon Blanc wine went really well with it.Service was very friendly and fast. All the staff were courteous and friendly despite it being very busy.

Met up with a couple of friends for a good old catch up after all the time we couldn't meet due to lockdowns. We we greeted by the staff and one security officer should were great and we managed to get a table straight away. After ordering our drinks one of my friends went to answer the call of nature but as he stood up he was still talking and another security staff member who must have been having a really bad day or a massive power trip told him to sit back down, however he seamed to get really mad when we told him why he was stood up and to back off out of our personal space. The rest of the staff were great I can't fault them but this one person's attitude did spoil our visit. He even tried to tell me to wear a mask while out in the open, and to be honest about 90%of the people there were not wearing masks, so why I was singled put i have no idea. And his general attitude stomping up and down the tables didn't help him at all. Apart from that the place was spot on concidering we couldn't drink/dine inside yet, im looking forward to going back hopefully inside next time

Decided to try lunch here and from an excellent simple menu of burgers and pizzas I decided to try the Beyond Burger which was purely vegan. Im very much a meat eater but thought I would try this and surprisingly it was delicious. I was skeptical about how much this would differ but I really enjoyed the taste, it was so similar to a beef burger but lighter and perfect for lunch. It didn't have any additives either like soy which I thought was good. Il definitely have it again, I was pleasantly surprised.

My sister and I go to the new conservatory at least once a week. We are almost treated like family. The food never let's us down, the ravioli is delicious as is the chicken burger. The atmosphere is relaxed and not rushed no matter how busy the restaurant is. There is a library in the restaurant where you can buy books for a couple of pounds. I can highly recommend this restaurant. Sometimes the resident dog max comes in however he's not allowed in the dining area.

Came with my housemates for some drinks. Luke served us and was very knowledgeable about the drinks available and gave us some great recommendations. Will definitely back!

I frequent bars often but this was one like no other! The service provided by Tom was simply world class, Nobel prize-worthy, sensational! He was a great help all evening, fast, reliable and friendly! Not to mention a looker! Thanks to the New Conservatory but mainly thanks to Tom - Amazing !

Wow! I had high expectations before coming but the quality of the drinks and service from waiter Tom Nevill was incredible. Tom has incredible banter and above average waitering skills - looks like he trained at the Ritz! I recommend ordering the beer - it’s so good! 5* to the New Conservatory and 5* to my man Tom.

I visited the New Consveratory with my family and I have to say this is one of the most remarkable establishments I have been to throughout my lifetime. Great service , particularly from Tom who was very attentive, great food and a class atmosphere. I will be back to visit again soon.

As of covid situation we don’t go out for breakfast every Sunday like before but this weekend we made an exception and popped in for a breakfast here. Staff polite. Latte was ok. Husband had traditional breakfast and I ordered buttermilk pancakes with berries and pecan nuts. Husband was not impressed with brekkie, said that it was one of the worst he had. I hardly ate my pancakes.. erm.. wouldn’t call them pancakes anyway they were soggy, thick , seemed like they are cooked from frozen on a grill. Yes, on a grill as they had grill lines on them lol. So sad that we wasted our time and money there. Never coming back.

Visited after donatng blood to replenish. Ordered the Baked eggs, not sure what to expect but it was marvelous and filling, lovely coffee and friendly waiting staff. Felt safe with good and appropriate Covid measures in place.

We were a bit nervous due to COVD as this was the first time we had been out in months.The tables were well spread out so we were happy about that.The food was lovely, we had Steak and Ale pie, Sea Bass Fillet and Risotto of the day, my husband said it was the best he has ever eaten and you get two fillets of Sea Bass as a lot of places only give you one which is a bit annoying for the price.The Sticky Toffee pudings were very nice.We have eatebn here many times and have never been disappointed.All the staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble.
