Ben was our barman, he made us feel really at home. Can't recommend the pub enough, great Guinness, great staff.

I've had worse pints of London Pride but not often. Acid and acrid made me regret ordering a draught beer.

A small pub, nice local area. Staff all very friendly. I went for the lamb roast and was not disappointed. For the price, I think it’s worth it as it filled me up very quickly. It’s a lot of food for one person.

Conveniently located across from LSBU Active, this is the perfect spot for post-exercise drinks! I had a reasonably priced pint of Coke while the rest of the group had varying pints and food They had lunch time deals on offer which I believe was a nice touch - the food was incorrect however still mentioned to be great and the staff member realised themselves later on and offered a free side to resolve which was kind of them The venue was really cute inside with a small little bar area and a larger restaurant style feel behind the double sided bar We decided to sit outside on one of the various benches and it was lovely! I like that’s it’s located on a sharp corner allowing it to be quite a staple point 😊

A nice little pub and was very quiet when I visited. I like the art on the walls. However, there was a funny smell inside. I can't quite tell what it was but it was a bit unpleasant.

Lovely little pub with great house wine. Unfortunately the Christmas lunch was not so good. Undercooked vegetables, over processed turkey and a very small mass produced Christmas pudding. Very disappointing for £35. Not worth that.

Small-ish two-room pub set back from a busy road. Super-friendly, cool prints on the walls, great vibe with a mix of young/older clientele. Will definitely come back if in the area as made to feel very welcome. Food and drink are a bit pricey but still feels like decent value when you weigh up your visit. No screens, thankfully.

A small, friendly, cozy local pub with the kindest staff I have seen in ages, they really made me feel at home. Table wine was a surprise, the staek was tasty. The decor is unusually pleasant - even the empty plate looked stylish. Price is reasonable. Will go back for sure!

Based on reviews we were really looking forward to our Lunch at the Albert arms. There was a group of 6 of us and they were busy so when we booked there was only room in the bar area so we appreciated that. The service was good, staff friendly and a good atmosphere. The food however let the place down a little, 2 of our party had the pate to start, it was chicken liver spread than a pate (almost liquid) however the prawn cocktail and the mushroom toast with crispy poached egg were lovely, for mains the pork cheek and fish and chips were good, the steak (for 2 people) however came out stone cold so we returned them and they cooked us 2 more, when they came out they were still not that hot and quite frankly they were over cooked on the outside, almost burned giving them a bitter taste and then covered in enough garlic to scare off a million vampires. In conclusion, a nice pub with good beer and good attentive and friendly staff but the food is a Minced bag.

11/10 roast. Lovely pub and 100% recommend their Sunday lunch topped off with an exemplary sticky toffee pudding. Pints were superb also 👌

Although the kitchen has closed, they were very accommodating and reopened it for us. The food was good and the servers were friendly.

So had a little drink after work.,asked to moved as large party coming in was going upstairs but as over 50s couldn't make it. Cheekily asked for glass wine on the house to move. Turned out not necessary and party drinking water and didn't ordered food. Trying to order another's drink and my companion told NO as I was rude. DID I SWEAR NO did I create a scene NO over 50 myself expect to pay service for drink and rude service. Will not be going back. Shame about the young guy who doesn't have any manners and couldn't tell me to my face I wasnt welcome as cheekily asked for a drink we were prepaid to pay its called banter sadly wont be back. The young girl was OK.

Amazing roast dishes with incredible Yorkshire Pudding. A perfect Sunday meal.

Had an amazing Sunday roast, sat outside on a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon in London. Staff were lovely and attentive. Food amazing.

What a lovely place to meet friends, this is a wonderful pub with a great team and their food was beautiful. Wish I had taken pictures, but that scotch egg was consumed very quickly!

I had a lovely time at the Albert Arms for my 30th. We were able to reserve the back bar area which was a lovely private space perfect for couples with young children and it was just really chilled and relaxed. Would definitely recommend for anyone needing to book a private area for a large group, didn't require any minimum spend just £50 deposit which was transferred back quickly. Service was really good and the food was great also.

Sorry can't rate higher as I was served a beer which has been waiting so long, that it's practically written its own autobiography by then. :) Haven't tried food.

Really love this pub which is a favourite of mine however really feel the last two visits have let it down. The last time I came we had a drink outside before deciding to stay for dinner so went through to ask if we could have a table for dinner at around 7pm. Less than half the tables set for dinner were already taken but we told we told the only table available was the small one by the door which was not set for dinner. We accepted this assuming the rest were booked but no more customers arrived before we left at around 8.30pm so clearly they hadn't. Felt rather annoyed and embarrassed that for some reason they didn't think we were good enough to have one of the proper Restaurant tables. The other issue I have is that the toilets never seem to have any soap when I'm there. Real shame, I won't be back.

A nice casual lunch.charcuterie and cheese board and some excellent wines.Staff very friendly and helpful.

Have to praise James working on his own on 26th, Race Day! He was having to serve behind the bar, take food orders and collect food from kitchen. Not once did he get stressed being short staffed! Well done James and thank you :)

Great gluten free roast! I had the lamb, it was delicious. Get there early on a Sunday if you want the beef / chicken. Even a gluten free pudding - sticky toffee pudding. Definitely coming back.

Lovely local vibes. Chairs and tables in the sun in the afternoon in the street. A thing. Go.

Crazy good pub food. Fish and chips was so light and fluffy. Steak and Ale pie was so flavourful and the sticky toffee pudding was incredible. Great authentic British pub with some history. You should try irbid visiting

Spending three days in London and staying at a hotel near The Albert Arms. Stopped in for lunch one day and came back for dinner the next. Great service. Friendly staff. Traditional beer battered fish, and chips were great. Sticky pudding was excellent!

£8.40 for a small glass of bad watery Chardonnay….AVOID this pub!!!! This should say much about this pub. Went there on Thursday for a bday drink and was shocked by the price for a small glass of white wine which didn’t even taste good. Rip off even in comparison to central london pubs. I had bad stomach afterwards. Never returning again.

What a great pub! If you’re looking for a warm welcome, good food and great selection of lagers then look no further! Just popped into this pub for refreshments after doing a London walk and then stayed on for lunch! Very friendly service, great ambience and served my favourite beer on tap, Leffe Blonde! We sat in the courtyard garden, small but beautifully presented with lovely wooden furniture that had been repurposed, with colourful cushions for added comfort. We only had one course but the double cheeseburger was very satisfying and the fish and chips were excellent! They had a varied menu, and lots of healthy options too! Would definitely recommend this pub if you are visiting this area of London.

The best sticky toffee I've ever eaten. Such a shame the gravy was watery and there wasn't an alternative to Sunday roast as it's the last thing I'd order and this place can seriously cook.

Only stayed for one drink, but is a great place for a drink.

Wry good balance of a meal, the schnitzel of pork with its accompaniments Was fab, the only thing I could critique was the meat was a bit grisly. The fish meal was faultless with warm plates too. The beer was well Kept and the sticky toffee pudding was perfect between two.

Staff were very nice, warm atmosphere, a great place to relax and unwind, no tv's which is a plus and good music, cool decor with a great artwork, my fave the misfits picture. Ace pint of the blackstuff.

Fantastic roast! Best roast I have had in the area. Service was great too! The beef roast was delicious and the cauliflower cheese was beaut!

We managed to get a table at The Albert Arms on Friday evening, we rang and booked as we were staying locally. Really nice little pub tucked away on a side street. Real chilled setting, loved the art work and the decor The staff were amazing, so friendly and chatty. The lamb ribs to start were delicious, a nice one to share I had the rib eye for my main, and as the review title suggests this was the best rib eye I've ever had. cooked rare and to perfection the hunters chicken was great to, and with jacket potato it was delicious A very good selection of beers and other drinks we'd love to go back

Buzzy and fun pub atmosphere, well located for meeting up with friends from different parts of London. Attentive service, generous sunday lunch portions. Engaging artwork on the walls, relaxed clientele of all ages and dog friendly, for those who like their pooch with them.

It was a really good experience. Went there with some old colleagues for leaving drinks. Meals, chips, crisp, and lots of drinks. Nice guys. Toilet available. Can take lots of people in one crew. They've got space. Good location for after drinks transportation as it close to the station (underground, overground and bus stops).

Great scotch egg and mushy peas

Used to be the best roast around the Elephant...I took my son for a treat, fatty beef, roast potatoes tasted deep fried, gravy had no flavour, amazing Yorkshire pudding did not make up for it. I was disappointed, it used to be brilliant.

Decent grub but watch out for the 12% forced service charge on top of already expensive prices. Even ended up paying 12% on the beers we fetched ourselves from the bar. Shouldn’t happen in a pub. Hidden fees make for a bad experience.

Great pub, with excellent food and staff are really nice. Came here with a couple of friends for lunch and it was great - excellent beer selection, bright and airy space and tasty food. Can't speak highly enough of the bar team either- very friendly and quick to grab stuff for you, and efficient at the bar. One (very) weird thing is the decor in the men's bathroom - some really seedy photos of women which honestly I was surprised to see in an otherwise very nice place.

Worst pub staff ever.We used to be regulars at this pub as we work for a local university . I emailed them today for a booking but was left hanging without a confirmation or an answer even after having an conversation over mail and giving them all the details they asked for.I tried to call them for the booking but I was spoken to very rudely by the staff. However I still went to check if the booking went through but the staff was utterly rude and they denied to even serve us at the bar and asked us to leave the pub. No one from our workplace is ever going to visit the pub again.

We booked the ground floor semi private space for a Christmas dinner for 26 of us. And we had such a wonderful time. The food was delicious! Really yum. Staff were just lovely. Brilliant atmosphere. This really is a lovely little pub. Thank you!

Quite a small pub but with a quality kitchen. We had an excellent pub lunch here. Beer was also very good.

The food is good but the service is awful. There was a waitros who refused to serve me and my friends because he thought we looked like Serbians. We are not, but the point is that he was racist and unpleasant with us. He made the atmosphere awful. I won't come back anymore. Stay far away from this place.

This is such a lovely place to celebrate with guests. I invited my friends and a great musician to my graduation party. Everything was well organized, the drinks & party catering & a la carte was nothink like perfect. The friendly peronal and especially the little beergarden was very welcoming. We enjoyed a great night out at the Albert Arms pub! Will definitely come back!

Wonderful, clean pub with excellent service and outstanding food. We had the fish and chips and lamb burger which were both great - the lamb burger was especially well seasoned with a little kick of spice. Kids welcome too!

My first visit to this very nice hidden place near Elephant and Castle. Fantastic atmosphere and good quality of drinks.

What a nice surprise was dinner at The Albert Arms! We shared a charcutery dish and it was ok. We only got 1 piece of toast each and some cold meats. Maybe they could add some more toast and cheese to make it better? Anyway I had the double cheeseburger for main and that was excellent. It was juicy, with lots of cheese and sauce. Great burger!!!

We dropped in for lunch. The pub looks really good, recently refurbished I think. Our bar man was friendly and accommodating. We ordered fish and chips, and a bruschetta. The fish and chips was really good. The bruschetta was burnt, but carefully hidden by ‘something’ smeared over top. Maybe cheese, hummus; who knows. This brought this score down. It could have been much better, and not burnt. (You can see the burnt bruschetta in the picture at the top of the bread. )

Great little inconspicuous pub with good service and lovely Sunday roasts. Great communication with bookings for a larger group. Thanks Sonata for being so helpful! There is a nice spot outdoors, shaded from the sun. It’s only a short walk from the Imperial War museum which is well worth a visit.

A family member recommended this pub as he is friends with the owner. We arrived early to a lovely welcome and the manager recommended we Sat in the back Garden as it was shaded and cool. I booked a table for Dinner in advance for 4:30 but wasn't informed that the kitchen didn't open until 5. We ordered plenty of Drinks for the four of us and the young man serving us with Blonde hair was friendly, helpful and the Drinks were flowing quickly with a smile and friendly interaction. We ordered our food at 5, starters and mains for four off us . The Bruschetta was smaller than then palm of my hand @£8.50 each and was covered in a weird creamy stuff, I can only describe it as a cold garlic humus type paste with a very powerful vinegar taste with really cold roasted Cheery Tomatoes on Top . Then the mains came out, 2 x Pork Chops and 2 x steaks, The Pork Chops were fatty and chewy the veg had a taste like Indian curry and the chips were grated potatos ?? The steaks were chewy,over cooked and covered in a thick Indian spice paste ?? Which covered the chips and handfull of green leaves . I politely spoke to the man serving us about the food and was brushed off very quickly with not much understanding. My son went to pay the bill as it was our first family meal meeting his new Girlfriend, it came to £280 including service charge. I was shocked especially as we all were leaving hungry,I spoke to the manager about how unhappy we was and said I was shocked that the service charge was added without considering the fact we were all unhappy with our food. The manager didn't want to discuss the matter at all and said well everyone likes the Indian spice on all our food including vegetables. My husband has stomach and gastro problems and always avoids spice especially Indian spices. The lack of consideration to our options and complate by the manager was annoying and unprofessional in my opinion. Working in hospitality for 3 years in the past I would have dealt with the situation better.

A wonderful flat iron building serving delicious cold beer on keg and a bit warmer from the cask. A little shabby chic with a dining room on one side and the bar on the other. The lady behind the bar is delightful with a smile and the patience to put up with me! She was also quick and efficient. A great find of a pub, thoroughly recommended.

I’ve been to their sister pub the Alberto’s Legs in Italy - the Albert Arms in SE1 is an awesome place, great food and also child friendly. Darren runs a great pub and team are super friendly and warm.

Zak was amazing and he shared a magical card trick that basically brought me to hogwarts. It was superb!!!!! Cannot say enough nice things.

I’ve been coming to this pub since 2017 - the manager Zak was particularly fantastic tonight which has spurred me to finally write a review! The food is consistently excellent despite a variable menu, the beer range is wide and unique, and the service is exemplary. Would suggest if you’re anywhere near elephant and castle!
