Cosy Club in Canterbury

First time visiting Canterbury and came here for our first dinner. The foods are amazing and the service we received from Ryan is terrific as well, so friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend this cozy place.

My sister treated me to lunch for my birthday today and I couldn’t have had a better experience. She had been there before and knew I’d love it. We got there early so decided to have a drink downstairs and were warmly greeted and served with delicious coffee. Once we went upstairs to eat we were greeted by Leon who proved that good customer service is still alive ! He could not have been more friendly or attentive which made my birthday experience even better! The meal was amazing we both had fish which was piping hot and really delicious. The panko -crusted cod and chips was amazing with a caper butter sauce! We ordered the most delicious desserts,I had the raspberry semi freddo and I was treated to a birthday candle and a glass of bubbly!!! We both had such a wonderful lunch with lots of fun and laughs and I would absolutely recommend it as a great place to visit!

My daughter convinced me to give this place a go due to the gluten free options and attention to allergen requirements. We were served by Sean throughout who was so polite, welcoming and attentive . Sean gave me the confidence in my menu choices that I was not putting myself at risk as a coeliac and with lactose/ dairy intolerance. The food was very tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. I’m very glad this is a chain that caters to people like me - this restaurant is not local to me so I look forward with hope that the one local to me lives up to the high standards I experienced this time .

I have to say, I’ve been to so many brunch spots over the years and this was truly a fantastic experience. Food was amazing! Evie was just fab!! She gave great recommendations, was a good laugh and couldn't have been nicer! Best customer service I've had in a long time. Definitely recommend

Not often I write reviews but felt compelled to today after an extremely satisfying breakfast. Sunday morning breakfast for two, with dog in tow, and could not be more complimentary of Cosy Club. We had a Butcher's Brunch each and the treacle cured pork belly was to die for 🤤 Lovely service and massively appreciated how attentive they were to our dog - waitress at the bar offering a water bowl and server on the door sourcing a cold sausage from the kitchen. Highly recommend. Mum remarked that the atmosphere of the place really is 'cosy' - we will definitely be back, thank you 😊

Evie was a fire server! We loved her. She was attentive and made sure we had everything that we needed. When I come back I will be asking for her!

Attended a private party at the weekend in the Franklin room. A very nice venue. The food was exceptional. Staff friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive. Would happily recommend.

Absolutely superb. From the delicious food to the excellent service, the stunning interior to the perfect atmosphere, The Cosy Club was amazing. As soon as I entered i knew it was going to be good, and frankly, 'dipping gravy' is the work of absolute genius. The terms of address employed by the staff should've been as antiquated as the uniforms they wore, all sleeve garters and braces, but being called 'brother' won't stop me coming back. Excellent stuff, keep it up, brother.

Just a fantastic lunch with family there, service top notch, the “cosy house burger” with Brie and bacon is just superlative. Very good wine list too, if you have any question or doubt about it just ask, they know what they are doing. Finally the steamed Thai sea bass is very delicate and balanced. We will be surely back for more

Incredibly slow service. I appreciate that it is in between Christmas and New year but they weren't even at half capacity. Lots of hidden extra costs that weren't properly explained and half the menu wasn't even available to order: no burgers, no pancakes, no pie, no tomatoes, no curry etc. We were left with a very limited offer that was fairly disappointing and not what we initially fancied. This is something that should have been clarified upon arrival before we looked at the menu. Every time there was a delay the server would then come over and trash talk the chefs for being so slow and grumpy and the bar staff for being lazy, which if this was meant in jest it landed flat. The drink offer for bottomless brunch was disappointing so we ended up not bothering and just ordered drinks separately. The drinks were so overfilled with ice that it completely watered down the alcohol content. We asked for pink gin and were served this cheap tasting strawberry and lemon gin instead but it tasted too much of lemon and again, this wasn't explained when we ordered 'pink gin'. Overall, the atmosphere was lovely and we had a good time because of our own conversations, but we left this place disappointed with the drinks, the reduced food offering and service and wishing we'd gone somewhere else.

Went here for Christmas Eve dinner and it was amazing! I've wanted to go to this place for a long time and regretted that I didn't do it earlier!! The atmosphere and interior are simply incredible, you can look at the scenery and paintings forever, they are all so beautiful!! The food was delicious, we chose a few starters and also my friends chose two main dishes At our request, all the food was brought to us at the same time, for which I thank you very much🙂 Everything was delicious, especially arancini and shrimp 🤤 All the staff were very friendly and attentive, the service was impeccable The star was Bella, who served our table, she was incredibly pleasant and made our evening special Thank you!

Really great place to celebrate any occasion!! We had a lovely evening here with great food , atmosphere and the staff were outstanding! A special thank you to Alfie & Bella who went out of their way to make our evening special. When we visit Canterbury again we will definitely be back!! Xxx

First time here and I can honestly say it won’t be the last, service was very good. They were busy with Christmas parties but they were prompt. Food was good but the cocktails are such good value for money, if you go between a certain time it’s 2 cocktails for £12.95 bargain

Attended Cosy Club Canterbury yesterday for the first time as part of a works Xmas party and can highly recommend. Service was great, food was great and atmosphere was great. It takes time to make good cocktails. But takes great customer service to make that wait pleasurable and the bar staff delivered fantastic service. Only slight disappointment was the 2 Cocktails offer after 4pm not being available. However appears to be out of the frontline staffs hands on when it's available despite it advertised on the menu. As such, I can't mark this review down, that's a HQ issue. Thanks for a great evening, will definitely visit again.

Me and my boyfriend love a cosy club dinner date, it has a very lovely atmosphere and feels like the right place to get a bit dressed up but have a casual dinner, the perfect night I would say! Food always comes out very quickly even when it’s super busy, and it’s great for its price too. The staff are super friendly!

Really is a great place. We had a very rare average experience here yesterday but the manager dealt with it fantastically. Will keep going back because of how brilliant he was.

Really enjoyed this place, lovely decor especially at the moment as it's very festive inside, the lights really do make it cosy. Food and service was brilliant, would definitely return. Downstairs on way to the toilets there is also a little view of some Roman ruins that were found, which I spotted. Very nice place!

Service felt very rushed even though it wasn't overly busy. We asked for more time to look at the menu as we'd just sat down, although waitress proceeded to return and wait at our table while we were still choosing drinks/food and felt very uncomfortable with this. Breakfast was mediocre.

Wonderful atmosphere reminiscent of the 20s and 30s. Had the chorizo hash!!! It was worth the 7 hour flight.

I like this place. Went on a saturday lunch time and found it very noisy though. Food took a while to be served but at least its freshly made. Been on a weekday morning for breakfast and that was more enjoyable. Maybe a sign of my age - i find myself shining a torch to read the menu. Brighter lights would be nice.

Went last weekend, had asian fried chicken and a fillet steak, the atmosphere was amazing all thanks to our server star and food could not have been better!

My husband and I visited whilst on holiday in Canterbury. The restaurant is very accessible with a lift to the restaurant if needed. The atmosphere is lovely, with a nice bar area on the ground floor. On the upper floor, the main restaurant is really nicely decorated. We found the service excellent and the food was delightful. We had a number of small plates: pulled beef croquettes and Asian chicken were gorgeous as was the mac’n’cheese. The fresh bread was lovely too, so soft and tasty. The desserts were gorgeous too. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Just love this place, and what makes the whole thing even better is the staff, I don't know who trains them but great job!

An outstanding place to eat and drink lovely staffand great service.

Service is really very slow on a saturday evening. We didn't eat until after 1 hour and 15 minutes of being seated. We sat with empty plates in front of us for 20 minutes until one of us went to approach a member of staff so that we could get dessert menus. Even as we ate dessert, there was still crockery from the main course on the table, as not all of it got cleared. It's not worth it. It took 2.5 hours to have bread, mains and dessert for 6 people.

I recently booked out the private area, Franklin Room, for about 30 people. Dinner and drinks. The team did an amazing job in giving me and my friends a fabulous evening. Everything was just perfect: food, service, beautiful decor of this top floor…what a wonderful experience. A special shoutout to Alfie especially who went above and beyond to make it special for us. He truly cares about customer service and events and just ‘gets it’- wish everyone who worked in hospitality was like him!! Thank you to everyone for making the night great for us.

A lovely venue with excellent food and a staff that will go the extra yard. We have had breakfast and lunch recently and both have been excellent.

I was really disappointed with my visit. First, it took an unusually long time for anyone to take my order, which already set a bad tone. When the food finally arrived, I had ordered the buttermilk chicken salad, but the chicken was absolutely terrible—dry and lacking flavor. I politely informed the waitress, but instead of offering an apology or even acknowledging the issue, there was no response at all. The lack of customer service was just as disappointing as the food. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

The ambience of the restaurant is inviting. The staff are professional, polite, and know the menu inside out. They are very welcoming. We love the decor and the food is very good. Parking is about 10 minutes' walk to the restaurant. I'm not sure, though, if there is any other access to the basement toilets. The lift is only accessible from the ground floor. Overall, I'm happy to recommend it.

Can’t believe i’ve lived in Canterbury for 3 years and never been here! Absolutely 10/10. can’t fault it. Great for all occasions fancy or casual. i Went for my grad celebrations & had the funniest time. Lunch menu was amazing!! and the service was super! Will definitely be coming back to try the breakfast & dinner menu! Thank you for making our meal so lovely!

As a single diner I was made to feel very welcome. I had a feta salad, which was the best salad I have ever eaten. Tasty and beautifully presented, I was told that it had been prepared by Sam the chief. The Italian white wine was a good choice

Gluten free menu is truly amazing. Staff are knowledgeable of allergies, even brought my drink separately to my husbands beer!

One of my favourite places, to go to drink or to eat, I feel welcomed, staff are great. Food is always amazing for very fair price. Great for familys.

Came with a large group for bottomless brunch. The staff were so friendly and helpful! Especially a waitress named Brooke who went out of her way to help us order and took pictures of our table for us. Only downside was it did take a while to get drinks made from the bar, we only managed to get 3 in our time there, but there was a large group of us so this probably contributed!

I'd never known that Cosy Club existed until someone I know had recommended going. A friend and I were visiting Canterbury for a bottomless brunch at another venue and just had to visit to find out how nice it was for ourselves. It was a Sunday early evening, and quiet when we arrived. Our welcome was super friendly, and the service at the bar was good. Cocktails were 2 for £12.95 which is brilliant! We didn't have much time available before our booking elsewhere, although we tried to push back our other booking so we could stay longer, but was unfortunately unsuccessful in getting hold of the other venue, which was a shame. Despite this, we had enjoyed our first drink so much that we decided to go back for another before ending our evening and heading home. The lady at the bar even brought them outside for us! The decor is absolutely stunning, drinks tasted amazing and were served with a smile. We would definitely be back to try more of the cocktail menu!😍

The food was nice and the cocktails are good. The staff were very friendly and attentive so what more can you ask for? It's also a really versatile place as you can get breakfast/ lunch/ dinner or just go for cocktails.

Our meals were delightful, staff were very attentive without being OTT. Bella looked after us and her happy approach with nothing being too much trouble was wonderful. Whilst we will not rush back we will certainly be eating at Cosy Club again, hopefully Bella will be there to serve us.

Had a lovely dinner here! Very dog friendly place, staff was super friendly and helpful, fantastic vegetarian options as well! The downstairs has a cozy lounge feel and plenty of space so our doggo didn't feel crowded. The kitchen was a bit busy because there was a jazz live music session while we were there, so we had to wait a bit for our food, but it was more than worth it. We had an incredible pear & rucola salad, and the primavera salad was divine! The ravioli were delicious, too. 😍 I also recommend their wonderful matcha based drinks, we had the matcha latte and vanilla matcha latte, really great stuff 👍🏻

Brooke and Louis were exceptional servers! The food was delicious and all-proportioned, and the drinks we had were some of the best I’ve tasted. I’m so sad to only be traveling here in Canterbury because everything this is a hidden gem!

I took my mum out for brunch and we had a great time and our server was awesome and so friendly. We both had the smoked salmon, avocado and scrambled eggs and it was absolutely delicious.

All the staff are so friendly, the brunch is delicious and the decor is relaxing and fun. We love coming here with our dog.

Food is mediocre at best, and service is impossibly slow. Due to wait times, you’ll be stuck there at least two hours. The green beans are drowned in a swimming pool of oil, same with the macaroni & cheese. The pork belly bites portion is incredibly small and tough, bulked up by potatoes and smothered in a clashing sweet sauce. Do not recommend.

I like people to know when a restaurant gets their allergens right. Cozy club does. After reading the menu which clearly marks the allergens including gluten-free and vegetarian, the chef comes out to verify what you are ordering to make sure that it fits your allergen needs. This is double duty. I've rarely seen this happen before, but I'll tell you what the food was delicious and the substitution of the green beans for the sauce I couldn't have was fabulous.. these people are great and the setting is lovely

Beautiful area. The starters are excellent. We only had this and it was excellent. Like many English restaurants the bill is steep but at least it's good. The decoration is very interesting.

We had a beef appetizer and the salmon main dish. Both were excellent. The salmon had a pea and mint that formed the base for the salmon and potatoes. It was so good we asked for the recipe. Desert was the Salted Caramel Chocolate mousse - delish!!!

we've been here once before a long time ago and came back as we happened to be in canterbury. we were served by alfie who made our experience top notch. the food was absolutely amazing and we all had such a lovely meal and having alfie serve us was amazing and he was so good with my friend who is lactose intolerant, so thank you to alfie and the chefs for a great experience !!

Good food, very friendly and accommodating staff, good atmosphere and very casual. The vegan burger was delicious with a low alcohol lager. It has a vegan menu with good options.

The Cosy Club was fabulous. From the food to the cocktails, decor and particularly the service, it was absolutely the best place we have been to on our trip since arriving in the UK ten days ago. Highly recommend. A huge shout out to JB aka John Brown who was just the nicest person that we have encountered on our adventures. Thanks for the great evening at the Cosy Club. Go there if you are ever in Canterbury you won’t be disappointed I promise.
