A fantastic Sunday vegetarian lunch overlooking the beach. There were 3 types of roast meat but we had the nut roast. Which came with loads of veg and cauliflower cheese. We had not booked but they managed to fit us in, great value, great location, lovely staff. Top tip - book! We were there on the first Sunday in November and it was very busy.

Everyone should go here just for the milkshakes. We even had an extra milkshake instead of dessert because they are soooo good. Rayna May was a friendly, efficient, knowledgeable waitress. The place was really clean and comfortable. The food was very reasonably priced. My salad was amazing, my friend really enjoyed her burger and did I mention the milkshakes 🤣🤣🤣

The location is unique in that it is a working cider farm, with a fabulous restaurant and a gem of a shop all combined into one place! My 3 year old enjoyed watching the machines working and the rest of the family loved the food. The carvery was top class, and unlike some carveries that you can go to in no way don’t feel disappointed by either the portions or the quality! The chef was charming and the waiting staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was a really pleasant place to spend time and I really appreciated the kids play area. The shop after was full of classy products that make for nice presents or treats for yourself. Overall, I’d say great value, great quality, and if I were local I’d visit regularly.

Delicious food with a wonderful choice of dishes, great value and service, lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed a variety of mains and desserts, all were great portions, perfectly cooked and presented in a non urgent pleasant dining environment. Visited after booking for a Monday lunchtime.

We got married at Skylark in August and we had the most fantastic day. From the moment we booked the venue everything ran so smoothly. Chantelle was our wedding coordinator and was brilliant!! She regularly kept in touch with us and was super accommodating. The breakfast room was set up beautifully, we had a vision but Chantelle and the team exceeded our expectations. The food was gorgeous and all our friends and family commented on the canapes! We honestly could not have asked for more! Thank you to Chantelle and the team for making our special day just perfect. We would highly recommend! Thank you again, Mr & Mrs Carter

What a wonderful find for us. Walked into the pub to find a roaring fire and very friendly staff. An old pub with a beautiful dining room extension also with sofas and log fire. The food was exceptional. I loved the home made steak and mushroom pie with the best pastry in a long time. Definitely worth trying.

Took the grandchildren to the Merrivale model village which was excellent. We ordered a large bowl of chips each at £5.40 I'd hate to see a normal size portion. When we asked for some vinegar we were told they had been busy and had run out. We then had to eat a dry bowl of chips, fortunately not to many! They had also run out of toilet paper which we did tell the staff about, to prevent customer distress.

Driven passed this pub at least 30 times on way to Gatwick over the years but never stopped. Visited on Thursday 26th September at 1:30pm. Reasonable sized car park with lots of spaces. Pub has oak beams which gives it a real traditional vibe. Didn’t book a table but was able to be seated straight away. Good choice on the menu. We had ciabatta baguettes (one halumi one sausage/onion) washed down with a Prosecco and a beer. Service good and baguettes only £9 each. View out the back of the pub over the South Downs is stunning! Worth knowing that last food orders are 2pm for lunch. Would definitely return.

Every month, with a group of friends, we have supper here. There's an excellent menu, always cooked perfectly, served without undue delay, by a lovely team. Mine host Ross usually greets all guests as old friends, making our visits most enjoyable. The bar has an excellent range of beers and wines with non alcoholic drinks for those driving. I used their excellent facilities to entertain 40 friends at my recent birthday party.
