Had Sunday lunch there....After waiting a while for it to arrive, when it did, it was lukewarm. The mash was actually cold in the centre. I told the waitress, to which she replied 'really?...Well, the plate is hot'. She promptly took it back to the kitchen ( fair enough) and after maybe 10 minutes, I was served a piping hot roast. I mean, it almost burned my mouth! Anyhow, it was a nice enough lunch, perhaps could have had a little more meat on the plate, and the sprouts were a bit dry, but it was fine apart from that.

Went to eat with my family last weekend. My vegetarian Sunday roast wasn't cooked, the potatoes were stone cold in the middle and the pastry (which looked pre-made) of my pie was raw. Obviously i sent my meal back as it was inedible, but the after receiving the bill, with my meal removed from the bill (which is a given, as it was unedible..), they couldn't understand why i was annoyed that they hadn't offered anything else as a gesture of a good will. I won't be going back.

we had the roast dinner, we arrived at 5 and unfortunately they had ran out of most of the meats for the roast dinner and another dish was unavailable. The food was lovely just ashame some things wasn’t available. And the wait time was longer than average. But overall it is a nice pub.

Had Sunday lunch delivered from the Beehive! It was gorgeous, so much meat, array of veggies, plus cauliflower cheese, mash and roasties. Along side a good Yorkshire pudding, plenty of gravy. It was delicious, and arrived hot. Have recommended already and will be ordering again. Excellent value for money!

I’d highly recommended the Beehive to anybody thinking of visiting. We went on a Thursday evening and were very happy with the food and service. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Revisited this pub after calling in for a drink a few months ago. The new owner Steve is very friendly and loves kids and dogs to visit his new venture. Menu choices are varied, we had the Tandoori chicken on a flatbread with homemade chips and tzatziki and coriander dip, also something I've not seen on any menu before Steak and Oxtail pie, creamy mash, broccoli and mange tout, with a jug of gravy. Both dishes were excellent, the pie is amazing, also separate Tapas menu which seemed very popular with other diners, something we will have to try next time. However we had to wait over 50 mins for our food, and I had to chase it up when I went to the bar for more drinks, when the food arrived it was a bit cold , probably been waiting for the food servers to bring out, as the gravy had a skin on Perhaps you could get more staff Steve at busy times (weekends) but it did not spoil the evening we will return to review your Tapas menu, recommend booking at weekends, got very busy, 2 car parks, lovely pub

We couldn’t find any faults with the food, the food was delicious, my partner even said the homemade N’duja Lasagne was one of the best he’s had, the prawn cocktail starter was also very nice. Good portion sizes and we wasn’t waiting ages for the food to come out. We can’t wait to visit again to try the rest of the menu!

Unfortunately didn't have best of experiences. Chicken Diane was blandest meal I have ever eaten. Sauce was just cream and mushroom with no seasoning whatsoever. 2 of us that ordered it emptied table salt and pepper pots into it to try and make it taste of something but really was not great. Maybe chef forgot some steps along the way. Chicken liver pate had 2cm thick fat on top of it. More than there was of the pate. We ordered drinks and but had to chase them number of times, the starters were eaten without a drink. The pub is lovely, it was busy so I imagine the service issue was down to that and a very young girl serving us, maybe she was quite new. Rest of our group were disapointed with size of their puddings and overall service. None of us would want to return unless there was massive improvements.

I’m sorry to say I was disappointed with our visit, having been really looking forward to the beehive under new management. We had left it a few months to let the new team settle in. Sadly a few things stuck out, we were left standing at the bar for ages with no warm welcome, we ordered a Sunday roast and it was unfortunately edible but not enjoyable (bland meats, overcooked and dry, soggy roast potatoes, plain veg, mozerella on the cauliflower cheese, sad sausages in blankets). All in all felt like it really lacked care and quality. Lastly, and the weirdest thing… We asked for a glass of wine and were told “no wine list” so we just said yes to a Marlborough Sauv (which was nice) and paid over £25 without being informed until the bill arrived. Just really strange... £75 later we felt disappointed that we had visited. We are local so may try again in the future but we would need convincing that others had enjoyed a meal here, I’m sorry to say.

The new owners are a credit to this place . It's has been full everyday we've been since they've took over . The new decor is outstanding and the food is absolutely sensational . If you have a dog there are designated areas next to the open fire for you that's if you can get a seat as it does get full very quickly , they also bring the meaty ends of the meat out for the dogs . The reastraunt seems to be fully booked most days and the professional manner In what the new land lady conducts herself is second to none . I was there when an elderly gentleman wasn't very happy about been asked to use the dog friendly area he mentioned that pub concentrate on food customers and no wonder the pub didn't have locals . Well I'm a local and every other customer you saw in the bar dog friendly area are locals so I think your slightly mistaken sir these new owners have turned this gem of a pub around . You spat your dummy out because you couldn't do as you wished .

No wonder pubs are closing every day of the week !!!! Went into the Beehive for a quick drink after walking our small Jack Russel dog today. I have never taken our dog in here before, but the sign outside says "dog friendly" The Pub was fairly busy, but there were about 3 or 4 tables free, so we sat down, but made mention that we were happy to move if someone needed the table for food as other tables were free. All the bar stools for casual drinkers have gradually been removed over the years, and we did not fancy standing up when there was so much free space to sit down available. Halfway through our drinks one of the young servers mentioned could we please move off the table. I responded no problem, when you need it w will happily vacate, but with 4 tables free and nowhere else to sit, we stayed put. 3 minuets later another waitress, said sorry no dogs here you will have to move (even though the table next to us ordering food had a dog) Basically if your ordering food, they love you, casual drinkers are not welcome to come in and sit at a table (no reserved signs) We used to eat here about once a fortnight for years and must have spent thousands over time. We don't come as often now I'm retired, but was here for food three weeks ago. They need to reflect that busy on a Sunday with food, but empty during the week, does not keep the place running. Please note I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. Lots of other "no jobsworth" run pubs available locally.

My ratings are based on my meal. My partner had the burger and wasn't impressed at it's densely dry consistency and thought the bacon on top tasted a little weird. He's a trained chef and thinks burgers should be succulently tender. I had the prawn and salmon salad which was lovely, it had plenty of ingredients and was very filling. Our friend had the lasagne which she said was very tasty. The wine was a good quality and wasn't overly priced.

Read some reviews that talk about this place doing the best Sunday dinner they’ve ever had so we booked in. Honestly the most underwhelming roast I’ve ever had - the meat was bordering on being grey (turkey for me and beef for my partner), Yorkshire puddings were tough as boot leather, and the veg selection and portion size were disappointing too. It really gave the vibes of the dinners my Nan used to get served in the care home🥲 £40 for 2 dinners and 2 drinks really didn’t feel worth it when no one came back to ask if everything was okay either. Such a shame as the pub grub that was coming out looked good, and the location and pub its self has potential to be lovely. Won’t be retuning.

A bit of a let down today. Visited before and couldn't fault the place at all. Visited today and the experience was't the same sadly. It's a lovely pub, the staff are friendly and the menu choices are great. Today the food was a slight let down as well as the service. The pie special I had could not be faulted but the veggie lasagne was bone dry so i thought I'd mention it to the waitress just incase the kitchen needed to know. She did exactly that and no issues there, and we understand sometimes these things happen. We just felt a bit let down by the service thereafter. We just felt a little bit forgotten. We didn't get our menus for a good ten mins to start with, had to wait a fair while for things like ketchup, no one came to take payment for the food (maybe this is at the bar only, not sure)... it just felt a bit 'off'. If i'm in the area i'll visit again and hopefully it was a one off.. it was a busy Bank Holiday Sunday afterall.

A recent visit here for midweek tea . Lots of good reviews and so we looked forward to trying this pub. Ample parking and a dog friendly pub, which was a bonus. Wheelchair access would be possible. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Sadly the atmosphere was somewhat flat due to lack of people in the pub. A variety of foods to choose from on the menu suitable for both meat eaters and vegetarians. We ordered 3 bean burger and vegetable lasagne. Both came with approx 8 large cut chips and a small portion of salad. The bun of the burger was big. 5he burger had a somewhat average taste. The lasagne base tasted strongly of tomatoes and nothing else. Chips were average tasting too and on the soggy side. I would definitely recommend ordering a 2 or 3 course meal if having the lasagne as main as this meal alone was not filling. The lasagne portion was much smaller than I have experienced anywhere else. Perhaps at the weekend the atmosphere is more vibrant. Reasonably priced with a large amount of alcoholic choices. Overall not a bad place perhaps just an off day in the kitchen? On a positive note, service was good and fast.

Arrived soaking wet after venturing out in "sunshine and showers" that turned out to be something more! The very friendly staff actually took away several of our party's coats and dried them in their tumble drier. While this was going on we had an excellent meal and a few drinks: real pie with a nice thick shortcrust (not just a flaky lid...), homemade tomato soup with loads of flavour, huge fish and chips (no skins; I don't like skins...). The service was spot on in terms of timing and also the young waitress's ability to remember without writing anything down! Ripponden has so many great pubs to choose from; it's an incentive to find lots of ways to walk up there or around there, so that's what I do....

Great pub with a great selection of dog friendly treats - including a full menu just for the dogs! There’s two areas to this pub, one dog friendly and one not. Great for anyone to go to with a dog or not there’s space for everyone. Would definitely return although the walk up the hill from town below is a big and steep walk and honestly not the easiest hill to walk so if you find you struggle with hills I would definitely drive up! But once your up there, there is some gorgeous views. Other than that it was great. Would definitely return.

Lovely rurl pub with a large choice on the menu. We had beautiful meals. Dog friendly and fire place that was in full operation when we arrived. Would highly recommend it

Beautiful pub full of character. Service was warm, friendly and efficient. Food was very nice and servings are extremely generous in size.

Lucky to get in as quite busy. All staff helpful and friendly. Had 3 roast dinners which were hot and well cooked. All had plenty of meat and good selection of veg. Reasonable prices. Will certainly be going back. Only negative is that my pint of Farmers Blonde didn't taste just quite right. Brother in law went onto Landlord which was fine.

First visit to the beehive, we were accompanied by our 2 dogs, staff very friendly and attentive, the food is good but in my opinion a little overpriced, probably wouldn't visit again due to location and menue prices.

Best pub in the area! Chloe & the landlady are especially nice! Excited to visit again! The food is amazing, the mussels and the sausage and mash are absolutely fab! Great pub!
