Bistro was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Food was well priced, arrived fast and and was wonderful quality. Was very impressed with the little extras they give you with your meal, and my grandma was so impressed she left her first tip in a very long time!

The food is so good, amazing value for money too.

Lovely authentic Italian pizza and garlic bread which were ready in a few minutes. It was our first visit as it is usually quite busy when we have passed by. It is only a small place but well worth trying.

The food is delicious! The portion size is definitely enough! My teenage son had a great meal too! We were lucky enough to see this restaurant when we passed by❤️ The price is also very satisfactory, thank you to the store for its kindness. My husband and I ate here today. I had had a takeaway pannini before, which was incredible, so we returned today to eat in. We had chicken carbonara, pasta napoli and garlic bread. The pasta dishes are £7 each and come with lovely bread. It was such a lovely meal, better than anything we ate in Rome last year. Amazing value for money, can't recommend highly enough. 👌

Oh My Dayzzzz!!! Stumbled upon this absolute gem of a place.. No secret that I am a bit of a foodie and can knock together a dinner or two... So when I say that this place is a must if you are in Halifax I mean business. Super staff, chef and a nice Italian atmosphere with attention to detail. Outstanding, flaversom food. And very friendly prices. Might just be a regular trip for us. Oh, and the coffee ☕☕❤️🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳... Molto bene. Oh, and this was just breakfast!!

Stumbled across this place by accident - and what a find. The best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Everything made fresh to order. You can see the Italian master cooking everything. Service great and the prices also. We will definitely return.

Absolutely blown away by this place! Stumbled across it whilst walking through the market on a Saturday trying to find food. Can’t believe how fresh, tasty and delicious this was. The pasta and panini priced at £7 each was amazing and to be honest, could be priced higher so have no idea why it’s such a steal - not that I am complaining! Not had a good meal like this in a long time. Thanks for the great food and we will be back again someday! 5/5 🔥

Wow! Came here today for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! The food is top quality, the service was amazing and it’s a lovely little place. This is the best lasagne I’ve had! It was made fresh and the portion size was plentiful! I ended up bringing some leftovers home and they gave me a container, a bag and some extra tomato sauce! Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a gem restaurant in the market, it's no more than 8 tables, but the decoration and service were cosy and warm. The pasta we ordered was exceptionally good, probably the best pasta I had in the UK. The quality of the food for the price was really good, it easily costs three times more if you dine out in the evening at the restaurant. definitely recommend it if you never had authentic Italy food.

First time trying this place, I ordered arabattic pasta vegetarian option. I was asked if I would like mushrooms. My first thought was £6.99, isn't that cheap. The chef let me try the sauce, it was mind blowing. I sat down to a bowl of heaven with some freshly baked garlic bread on the side. From the first mouthful, it was an explosion of aromatic fresh produce. It was worth every single penny. My colleague and I could not fault anything, we just sat there and both kept saying OMG this is amazing! We will be back for more. I can't believe I found Italy in halifax marketplace. I gave my compliments to the chef and left with my batista coffee which was also amazing and a cute touch with the coconut macaroons. Keep up the great work, your fresh food is to die for! Worth every penny give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Honestly the best place to get food in Halifax. After having some pretty poor food in local cafes, for extortionate prices, this really changed my mind about Halifax. The fresh pasta was delicious and very affordable. Served with soft warm bread and Parmesan. All the staff were very warm and welcoming too. Keep it up!!

We needed something to eat before going on to a show at The Piece Hall and after wandering round the market settled on the Pie & Peas Shop. I didn't have a pie, preferring an absolutely outstanding full English (in preparation for a few pints later) but my wife did have a piece of their steak pie... and peas... and mash, with gravy. Huge portions for both of us, cooked fresh, and thoroughly enjoyed.

Been coming here for years but today was the best visit ever. Since I last came they have had a bit of a revamp and new staff. Fantastic food excellent customer service perfect prices. Spotless clean tables. Just loved it can’t wait for my next trip into town

What a great experience this place is, the Borough market is fab on its own but the pie and pea shop takes the biscuit (sorry!) , took me back years to a childhood memory but the product here was first class, well worth a visit

Not wanting a full meal,tried here.Good value pie and peas although artificially coloured peas,bright green.When I do them at home using soaked peas they're a dull green. Tasted ok,pork pie a decent size though.Other pies available. Full breakfast available all day looked good value too

Called in here today for a quick pie and peas lunch. I had steak pie and my husband had pork pie. Both smoothered in tasty peas with plenty of mint sauce in a separate cup. Washed down with a mug of tea each, all for £9.10. Takes me back to when I was a young lass. Have a look round the market and stop off here. Well worth a visit.

Enjoyed a very nice cooked breakfast, and given the option of toast or bread. The staff were very friendly and polite, even let us buy a couple of buttered bread buns to take away. Could do with a couple of heaters, we felt uncomfortable sitting eating breakfast with our costs on, but we'd definitely eat there again

The Borough Market is fascinating. Pea and Pie shop, delicious. Well worth a visit. There as so many stalls in the market to enjoy after you've eaten

The Pie & Peas Shop at Halifax Borough Market makes no pretensions about serving Michelin Star quality food, but what it does serve is very reasonably priced and tasty. You have the option of sitting in at the two units the Pie & Peas Shop occupies or taking away. The Small English Breakfast is very good value for money at under £3.

Nice little cafe in the middle of Halifax borough market good selection of food and good quality value for money friendly staff only down side is the place could do with some new table and chairs as you can't move the chairs it can get so cramped if your a larger person it's not ideal I have not had this problem but know others who have.

My pie and peas were red hot but pastry and meat were hard. I suspect food is mostly microwaved but I suppose you get what you pay for. I would have enjoyed oven cooked, fresh, locally made pie and peas but am not sure that is what I got.

Came in with my partner for some breakfast ,The value for your money is very good ! However I was met with very rude Costumer service from the male who served me , Although the service was good from the young lady who brought my food over to me !!!

i go to the Pie and pea shop cafe for y dinner sometimes and ive had the pie and peas witch are really nice as so are there sasuage sandwitches too the staff are very nice too and very welcoming
