Excellent home cooked food. The sticky beer stained carpets need to go as they smelled very musty and didn’t do the pub justice when the food is so good.

My family and I had been going to Glen View for years and always had a good experience in the past but we went yesterday on the 15th September 2024 to mark the 2 year anniversary of our dad's passing and had were treated badly , not by the waitresses they were lovely but by the chef, when we arrived she tried to rush us into ordering early which we did because there was 19 of us, so we understood. What annoyed us is when we were eating our meals ,the waitresses were sent in to ask us to all budge up to one side of the room before the children had finished eating when there was no space to do so, we said no because they needed to finish eating, we were all getting ready to go and the chef barged in and said I must insist that you go now which was extremely rude, we were literally shovelled out , my brother asked this woman if we could have a discount for being thrown out and she blatantly said NO. The woman I paid at the bar was rude to me too , had a bad attitude, she was flippant about who had what and how it all needed paying for when we all had a listed , named tab each to keep things simple, We spent a fortune in there yesterday and were treated with contemp, we didn't deserve this and especially not on a memorial day for our dad. Having loved this place and recommending it to many in the past, I would not feel comfortable to go again !

Food 5* delicious. Service staff rude, watching over us eat, clearing plates whilst other members of the party where still eating. Threw the steak knifes on the table and did not make us feel welcome at all. Whilst we where eating another family came in, the service staff laughed at them for wanting a table and told them they wasn't any space. Very unprofessional. Which is a huge shame as the chefs do an amazing job and the food was faultless.

We often go to this quaint little pub , and the food is always amazing and service great, especially the lady behind the bar, sorry I don't know your name, but she always remembers what you want to drink and even went as far as buying a bottle of Benedictine especially for me,as she knows I like one after my meal. All staff are exceptional and a credit to the management, even the lady who owns the place goes out of her way to always say hello with a smile on her face.

My friend and I called for Sunday lunch. it didn't disappoint. Great portion size cooked to perfection. Had dessert too which were also delicious. You do have to book, which we didn't know, but we were more than happy to sit outside on the decking area to eat. Highly recommend

Lovely pub, called in for a drink. Decided to stay for dinner. Charming, hardworking, efficient lady served us . First class food. Proper homemade meals Friendly locals. A hidden gem. So much more than we expected due to some mixed reviews. It is fabulous Don't miss it.

The mixed grill is AMAZING!!! It is the best mixed grill I have had in a very long time. We went with a group of friends and everyone enjoyed their meal. At first it seemed a little expensive for a mixed grill at £25, however when it came out on a tray instead of a plate and I saw what was on it I realised it was value for money. Glen View itself is quite small so I would recommend booking a table in advance especially if there is a group of you. Oh a little secret if you want the Mega Mixed Grill you will have to ring up in advance to order it (apparently it is too big for one person)

Food is nice but I believe the chips and Yorkshire puddings are frozen and the mash is smash which all should be home made. It’s such a shame when the meat and pies are so gorgeous

Lovely little traditional pub serving good food. There's quite a varied menu to choose from as well as a 'specials board'. The pub has a well stocked bar with a variety of beers, including some hand pulled guest beers too. It's only a small place, so it does get quite busy at peak times.

Really enjoyed our recent visit to the Glen View. Extensive well priced menu served in friendly manner. All our group enjoyed the food & the friendly nature of the pub.

Can't beat the home cooked food highly recommended

The food is reasonably priced with good sized portions. Bar staff were friendly not so much the woman who came to take our order - was a bit of a misery. The whole place needs a deep clean and a lick of paint. Ordered "Strawberry pavlova" which was a small shop bought meringue as the base the synthetic truly awful squirty cream in the middle then topped off with another small shop bought meringue with a few slices of strawberry. The cost of this was £5.50 which is a good price ordinarily for a dessert but I think they must have made about £5.25 profit on this one Won't bother revisiting

We ate here on Friday. On arrival we was a little disappointed, mainly because we had heard such great things and as a result our sites were set a little high. We eat out regular, so decided to give this place a try. We was greeted very nicely. We was sat in a corner of the room which looked more like my grandma's old sitting room and in need of an upgrade in there but times are hard for businesses so i understand they probably can't. We was definitely overdressed for this place. The food wasn't that amazing, the chips are lovely, burgers are okay but mediocre. It came to £35 for 2 burgers and chips, 1 coke and one pint with a garlic bread. Maybe we just chose the wrong meal. If you like your meat there were some huge mixed grills and you definitely don't leave hungry. I have to mainly comment on the young lad there, he was so professional, always checked on customers and we feel he definitely deserved the tip I left him. This tip went straight into the till after I stated it was for him! He wasn't very old. Please be aware of this, tip directly if you are tipping.

Having read the fab reviews, we decided on a 50 mile drive out. We were not disappointed. Having kinda gotten used to the rubbish from chain owned pubs, the food here lived up to its reputation. Home cooked and very tasty. Good cask beer as well. What a pity it is so far away from home. We will make the effort to return from time to time. It's well worth it. Very pleasant staff too.

We were prompted to visit this pub after reading the rave reviews, even though it involved a 50 mile journey. Glad we did. The staff were wonderful. The food lived up to its reputation, and the beer was good. Glad we made the decision for a drive out. We will certainly return now and again.

Food was served hot and very good. Servers were prompt and pleasure. Not an issue but the pub is very old in style, with the exception of the bathroom which was modern.

Friendly staff and people, nice atmosphere, food looks delicious although not tried. However people sat vaping not desirable and lets it down. As someone with lung issues being sat in a room with three people vaping and no alternative place to sit was really off putting!

Excellent food! The lamb Henry appeared to be half a leg of lamb! The mixed grill was enormous! The Christmas dinner was divine! We didn't have to wait long before the food was served to all 8 of us at the same time, piping hot and in very generous quantity. The staff were lovely! My family travel to Todmorden for our annual Christmas get together at the Glen View because we love the food and now it has become a tradition. We would recommend anyone to pay them a visit, you won't be disappointed!

Been going for over 15 years never had a bad meal not once. Last time I went was different however. My steak was severely undercooked it was dripping blood which ruined chips and everything else. A young lad came over and asked if food was ok. I said no the steak is undercooked I asked for medium this is barely even rare. He went away and never returned. Left sat with a plate full of blood and a ruined meal. Paid begrudgingly and left in a foul mood.

We had a delightful experience at the Glen View Pub. The food was not only delicious but also came in generous portion sizes. Jane, who welcomed us, was exceptionally warm and made us feel right at home. The young lad who served us was polite and attentive throughout our visit, adding to the overall positive impression. I highly recommend this pub for a wonderful dining experience.

Good food and good prices. Had steak, chips with egg mushrooms and a little side salad. Very good portions, came on a big plate!! Also had strawberry 🍓 pavlova for dessert which was really nice. Well worth a visit!!

Traditional pub with two options of real ale. The menu was good with many options and a brilliant specials board. The value for money is excellent and staff very friendly and welcoming. Definitely going to go again

Food is always good.however vegetables were hard other than that everything was good.

29th August 2023, we went to The Glen View for my father in law’s wake. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The buffet that they laid on was fabulous. Sausage rolls were amazing! Cakes all homemade. We have been here many times before with my father in law and have had excellent service and amazing food every time. I can recommend the food highly enough! The best roast beef dinner I’ve ever had. The staff excel in customer service. Thank you to all of you.

I been going there since I moved to Todmorden in 2007, always great food. Good atmosphere, very friendly staff!

Very friendly pub, great atmosphere. Staff were very attentive. There were 10 of us having a roast dinner which was absolutely delicious. All the meals came out together and were all piping hot. Plenty of meat vegetables mash and roasties. If your in Todmorden I would highly recommend you give The Glen View a visit.

This is not fine-dining. This is good, honest British fayre. Over 2 days within a week we have sampled the lamb henry (at least half a leg of lamb - see photo), the roast pork dinner and the roasted vegetable lasagne. Everything was fresh, hot and utterly delicious. The only negative and really it is very minor; there was no crackling with the pork. Despite that, we are going back again tonight with some more family members. Yummy!

We went for a late lunch. Found the last parking spot. Greeted by a lovely lady who served our drinks and who took our orders after being seated. Unfortunately two of us wanted the braised steak but only one left. Not a problem still plenty of choice plus the specials board. I decided on the Lamb Henry, what a brilliant decision, absolutely beautiful, well presented and done to perfection. The remaining three all enjoyed their choices as well. Great value for money and although we only get to this neck of the woods once a year, we'll certainly be returning the next time. See you next year.

Heard a lot of very favourable comments on this Inn and we decided to give it a try. It is a typical Inn with very friendly staff - we were made very welcome. The meal was excellent and there was plenty of it. Really good quality. Will be back for more. The only negative is the small parking area, but well worth a visit.

Came here for lunch and had the soup and steak pie. The food was delicious and service was fast and friendly. Good place for a hearty British lunch.

We went for a birthday 🎂 celebration today at lunchtime & as always it was 5*****. The food was excellent... a Glen View Mixed Grill (absolutely colossal) & 2 Roast Beef dinners (where else do you get 5 large thick slices of beef) the staff are always friendly, engaging, very helpful & always smiling. If you want excellent home cooked food with a cosy friendly atmosphere, with some great background music this is definitely worth visiting.

Just got back from The Glen View Inn after having a meal there for my birthday. I've been here a few times but not since before covid times. Nothing has changed. The food was still delicious. The pub is still cosy with great music and a no swearing rule. The staff are professional but also lovely and welcoming. The food, served piping hot, is simple, but very comforting fresh food for an excellent price. We had a starter ( potato wedges with garlic sauce and a fresh salad) and two mains (beef roast as a special and Cajun chicken, chips and onion rings)and if I could have fit it in, I would have had a pudding too! I was picking my birthday cake up after the meal though so that scuppered my chances. I highly recommend you booking a table (you can just drop in too) and getting yourself a tasty meal.

Went here on Sunday, thankyou for a beautiful lamb shank with all the trimmings, it was very tasty and hot. lovely staff, meal was so big I asked a lovely staff member could I bring the rest home, nothing was too much bother for this young man, traditional home cooked food ,lovely place, have been once before and was not disappointed, would highly recommend, will definitely be back.😋😋 Ann

Really decent pub grub and we all enjoyed it. The decor isn't the best but the service was great and friendly staff. The brandy sauce could have done with more flavour, and my crumble was really tasty
