I came on a Sunday, at 8:30 am it was open, I received very good service and very good food, a little above the average price, but it was worth it!

We went for a family Breakfast this morning (6 people). Already queues out of the door but we were really well looked after by a young lady who kept us informed and eventually found us a large table to eat together. Food was served quickly and was amazing! I can highly recommend the cheese and beans on toast with chorizo - fantastic! Our waitress looked after us really well and took the time to ask if we enjoyed our meal and really seemed to care, not something that happens too often these days.

Just average place trying to be relative with kinky serving plates and unusual combos

Since we were only staying for one night, we chose a place that we had been eager to try—Hardware Coffee + Kitchen. The café caught our attention for a couple of reasons. First, it’s a one-of-a-kind spot with just one location. Second, it operates on a walk-in only basis, with no online booking, which is rare for most restaurants in the UK, where bookings are usually required. This added to the appeal and made it feel like a hidden gem. The café is designed with a raw, industrial aesthetic, yet softened with greenery that gives it a charming vibe. We were lucky to visit when it wasn’t too busy, allowing us to take in the spacious mezzanine floor all to ourselves. The menu offers a wide variety of options, most of them hearty and generously portioned, though they do have some smaller dishes. I ordered the Eggs Benny, which is similar to the classic Eggs Benedict but with a slight twist. Alongside that, I had the Mini Toolbox, a smaller version of their larger breakfast dish called Hardy’s Toolbox, and of course, a Hot Latte to complete the meal. Everything tasted great, making it a solid choice for anyone looking for a satisfying breakfast in Liverpool. If you’re ever in town and need a good breakfast spot, Hardware Coffee + Kitchen is definitely worth a visit. . In Liverpool, there are many great breakfast places to eat in the morning. We were in Liverpool for 1 night, so we chose the restaurant we wanted to try the most. This shop is quite interesting. The first point we chose was that it was a shop with only one branch, and the second point was that it was a shop that accepted walk-ins only, without any online booking at all, which made us feel interesting. Because most restaurants in England require a reservation first. This restaurant is Hardware Coffee + Kitchen. It is a breakfast restaurant that has a mezzanine decorated in a raw style but combined with green trees to tone it down. Going down a little, it's quite cute. On the morning that we went, luckily there were no customers, so we were able to get pictures of the open mezzanine floor. The restaurant's menu has a lot to choose from. Most of which are large dishes. There will be a few small dishes on the menu. The menu we chose to order was Eggs Benny (similar to the Eggs Benedict menu but slightly modified) Mini Toolbox, a smaller size breakfast with a large plate called Hardy's Toolbox along with Hot Latte. The taste was considered okay. Who has gone looking for a breakfast place? This shop is considered good.

Love this place. Has an amazing breakfast there, good veggie options and loved the beetroot hash browns. Staff are friendly and coffee is good.

I really enjoyed my stay. The food was great, with plenty of tasty options. Just a heads-up, you need to order at the counter.

Hands down, one of my favourite brunch spots in the city! The food is incredibly tasty, bursting with flavour. My go-to dishes are the baked eggs and the pancakes, which are always light and fluffy. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is light and aesthetically pleasing. They also offer a Blue Light discount, which makes the experience even better!

Visited for lunch on a Monday, with the intention of working whilst eating before heading into town. Once I removed my laptop, a member of staff informed it was a laptop free zone and that if it became busy I would have to surrender my table irrespective of what I had just ordered. I understand that those working and occupying a space in cafes etc detracts from their potential earnings, however, there were 6 independent tables with individuals working on their laptops. Irritated by the inconsistent policy and blunt staff I cancelled my order and left. I suggest improving the consistency of enforcing this policy, or allocating time slots for covers to avoid alienating customers. Can't say I'll be returning any time soon, especially with the calibre of nearby cafes/lunchspots.

Disappointed as I read good reviews before going. Soggy toast and bad-quality mushroom in the dish I tried. The coffee foam presents awfully and the taste is unsurprisingly the same. Also they ask for tips before service, not sure when this has become a new fashion.

Just popped in for a quick breakfast. Can recommend the 'Hardys Builders Butty'. Although there's no elegant way of eating it 😆 Filter coffee was nice too, and the one free refill is very welcome. Thanks guys, a great way to start the day!

Nice new find! Very relaxed vibe inside. Clean, spacious, and not too noisy. Only had a coffee, but it was lovely. Friendly staff and love all the 'hardware' touches. Will go back to try their GF brunch options soon.

Went here for brunch. Parked my bicycle just across the street in the front. Plenty of seats, spacious area and comfy environment. Love the interior design. Welcomed with a jug of water. Ordered vegan tollbox, not a fan, the spice in the scrambled tofu so strong it's too bitter. But the french toast was so exquisite. They also have weekly special menu. Had pure gym membership so got 10% discounted. They have toolbox toy to make my toodler busy. Excellent service.

Lovely atmosphere, clean and bright. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We had a couple of great lattes and delicious breakfast. Would recommend the sweet corn fritters and also the bacon chop!

I recommend the is place for nice brunch in Liverpool. Food is great and the mocha with coconut milk is a must try ☺️ they also have fresh juices and tumeric shots. The barcode ordering system is well effective as well.

Wow, amazing food (apart from the hash browns sadly as they tasted of grease). Lovely staff and inside also. Will be back again to try different things from the menu to see if they are as good as the fried chicken and bacon chop dishes

Ordered tool box breakfast, extremely disappointed. Baked beans are horrible, just white beans in an almost bolognese type sauce, drenched scrambled eggs served on top of soggy sour dough bread. Sausage and bacon average at best. Will not be returning.

The food and coffee is always amazing, the staff are so lovely as-well and go out of their way to make you feel welcome! It’s gorgeous inside too ᵕ̈

The service was not as we expected

The pancake was perfect, we tried 3 types of egg they were less than fine , the service was the worst we waited more than 45 min a lot of people came after us and there food arrived too earlier and the waitress were rude and didn’t gave us any attention, I would come back to get the pancakes take away not gonna stay for this kind of service.

It's OK the staff are friendly, food was nice, I had a problem with the milk for my tea, when a bottle is opened, it should be returned back to the fridge, and not left on the back counter.

Can't praise Hardware enough. I have wanted to go here for a few months, and it didn't disappoint. We had the Shrooms, Hardys toolbox and the French toast.

Marvellous independent cafe, lovely friendly staff and great service. My friends and I all had yummy food, and I enjoyed a lunchtime cocktail.

I recently visited Hardware kitchen and had a very disappointing experience. On two separate occasions, they got my order completely wrong. The first time, I thought it might have been a simple mistake, so I gave them another chance. Unfortunately, they messed up my order again the second time. The staff didn't seem particularly concerned about the errors and offered no apologies or attempts to make it right. It's incredibly frustrating to spend money on a meal, only to receive something you didn't order—twice! This kind of carelessness and lack of customer service is unacceptable. I won't be returning and would advise others to avoid this place unless they want to roll the dice on whether they'll get what they actually ordered. There are plenty of other restaurants that value their customers and get orders right the first time.

We have just been here for breakfast 3 days in a row during our stay in Liverpool. All I can say is wow! Everything we ate was delicious. The cakes look amazing too but we didn't try them after filling uo on the mouthwatering french toast. The hash browns are the best hash browns we have ever had. We loved the decor, especially the plants and the bathrooms are luxurious with hammers as handles! Dogs are welcome and get treated to bone biccys. Thanks to everyone at Hardware for having us. We recommend you 100%

Popped in for a quick coffee and it was absolutely gorgeous. Service was 10/10! Very friendly. Fab place, lovely decor and a great use of the space! Only had a coffee but the food looked amazing so will defo be back for that! Lots of tasty pastries on offer too.

It was a frustrating experience. Aside from the long wait to get seated it took an hour for our food to arrive, the food was okay but the plates and cups were not clean

Very nice breakfast and brunch/lunch in Liverpool city! Try the burger and the eggs Benedict! For something sweet try the French Toast! The last time we tried the fluffy pancakes, the schnitzel chicken burger and the English breakfast!!! Everything was very tasty! I totally recommend it!!!

Friendly staff, tasty food. Yes sometimes you have to wait a while when it's busy, but that's totally normal. Had the crunchola and yoghurt on Saturday and the toolbox on Sunday. Both very good! Coffee was also good.

The brunch is very delicious and the coffee is good, but it closes early, and this is a problem for some people . I hope to add drip coffee as well.

Very sleek cafe, great decor and very friendly and charming staff. However wait times were too long, my dining partner was served 5 minutes or so before me also. I ordered the sweetcorn fritter stack which was overall lacking in punch, the bites without the salsa were bordering on bland and due to the lack of salsa on the plate those bites were a little too frequent. The food was also, in my opinion, not quite hot enough. To drink I had the filter coffee which was very nice and included a free refill so absolutely no complaints there.

Best breakfast in town, mix and match, best vegan sausage I've ever tasted. Great decor and good choice of options at reasonable prices. Quality of food? Excellent!! Will be back.

I found this place on Google because I fancied a sweet breakfast and saw they did French Toast. When I got there I didn’t even have the French Toast because the Biscoff Soufflé pancakes caught my eye instead, and honestly it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Quite possibly the best thing I’ve eaten ever and this place has ruined all other pancakes for me forever! My partner had a full English which he too enjoyed, before he finished my pancakes as I was stuffed.

We’ve been here a fair few times now and it seems to always be the same. Long waits for table, long wait for food. And they seem to always get the order wrong every time. It’s literally 2 sourdough toast, eggs and bacon. Two people had to come to the table to check the order. And this is what you’re presented with.

Great brunch n coffee spot, love the theme, had a short 5 mins wait to get in at busy Sunday lunch time. Food arrived within 10 minutes. Staff are lovely, very clean and lovely atmosphere. Be sure to give the staff a bonus for being awesome when its peak hours!!

I've been meaning to leave a review for this place for a while now.. One of the best coffee shops in Liverpool in my opinion. Service is always great, staff are very friendly. The coffee is very good too (coming from a coffee snob..), as well as their cakes - I loved the pistachio cookie. Admittedly, I haven't tried any dishes yet (I come too late every time), but they look good from what I've seen. Would recommend

Lots of potential just really poor experience of food. While it looks the part it is all precooked and left warmed. So textures and flavours were not enjoyable. There are much better places in town but sadly they open a bit later. Coffee was nice, but for the price it was very average.

Really great, stand out service in here. Food was so good, you can tell they use very high quality ingredients. Coffee was smooth & the dulce de leche cruffin was amazing! Venue was really cool too, perfect for photos. Definitely will be back when I visit Liverpool.

Loved our breakfast, we had walked around Liverpool and everywhere else had a queue but this was a hidden gem and had plenty of tables. Staff were lovely, food was great, different things on the menu made it more interesting , only niggle-a tiny bit greasy. Coffee was lovely. The cakes looked fab but were a little dry. Would definitely visit again if visiting Liverpool..

The food is good, but the service is bad. My order arrived an hour after I paid for it. If they are passing through Liverpool they will waste a lot of time here.

Best brunch I’ve ever had! The quality of the ingredients they use is absolutely top notch. I had the baked eggs (similar to a shakshuka) and it was so flavourful, definitely recommend. The coffee is also really good and the staff was very kind and patient event when the place got busy. Looking forward to coming back soon 😊

The staff were really welcoming; the establishment was jam packed but it was a relatively short wait all things considered! The food tasted amazing and came pretty quickly after ordering. 100% would come back!

Came here for breakfast, as the reviews were really good and there's always a queue outside on weekends. We ordered 2 full cooked breakfasts and 2 coffees. The coffees arrived quickly and we're really nice. The breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive and when it did it was cold, the bacon wasn't cooked and looked grey. The manager came to speak to us and arranged for a replacement which arrived within 5 minutes! The bacon still had a pluse and the poached eggs were saturated in vinegar. How can you get it so wrong, could have been amazing but it wasn't. Up there with the worst experience of eating out I've ever had. Please get a chef that can cook!

We waited 30' to be seated (the waiter said 10') and then we waited 50' for our food (they said under 30'). Then the food was okay but not good enough when you wait almost 1h30 for a breakfast.

Good coffee, decor and playlist. BAD food. I had the corn fritters - it was hugely over salted. Felt like a chore to eat it, but I had already paid so ate as much as I could. Tongue felt sandpapered by the end of the meal. Also, they do not offer table service but ask for a tip when you order at the counter. Not sure on what basis they feel they deserve a tip. Bottom line, probably good for a coffee. Wouldn't come back for food.

Not all of them, but one of the girls in the till was super rude to me this morning.. if you are in a bad mood stay at home.

It pains me to put a low review for this place as the staff were super nice and friendly but a group of 4 of us went there on Monday and we were waiting around 50/60 minutes for our food. It was reasonably busy but not absolutely rammed. After about 35 mins, someone came over and acknowledged the wait and offered us a free round of drinks (we'd already ordered more drinks after 20 mins) which we appreciated but we were all so hungry. We also had our car park booked until 13:00 so after we had finally eaten, we didn't have time to do anything else because we had to go back to our car. When the food did come out, they got my order wrong. My boyfriend and I ordered 1 hardy builders butty and 1 schnitz sarnie (our mates ordered 2 builders buttys) but instead we got 4 builders buttys. I didn't say anything at the time because I just needed to eat something and didn't want to wait any longer. The builders butty was nice but the bread had been cut badly so it didn't really have a bottom and the contents of the butty were falling out. It's a shame because I think we'd have loved this place had it not been for the wait and wrong order. I would have appreciated a partial refund too tbh. I really liked the decor and the place had a good vibe. The ceiling pendants with plants in were beautiful. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go again.
