Incredibly satisfying breakfast. High quality ingredients; thick bacon, perfectly cooked sausages, every bit was perfect. Excellent value, you will not go hungry. Coffee hits the spot as well. Highly recommend.

The interior is really cool, I love the details of tools incorporated with the design of the café. It’s very light and bright feeling which was lovely for a brunch catch up. The man who served us was incredibly friendly, which was lovely and made us smile. The coffee was tasty and the food was really good. Definitely worth waiting in the mini-queue, which moved extremely quick.

It is a great place. We had their special with pulled pork and a chocolate muffin. They are very friendly and welcoming for families. Their toilets are clean and offer above than expected toiletries for the baby change. Thank you so much for the great experience. I would go back for sure. 👍

Everything about this place is wonderful. We had the granola with fruit and yoghurt, coffees and Nutella cruffins with coffees. All fresh and tasty. Spacious and modern interior. Friendliest staff. Highly recommended.

The staff—including the waiters, baristas, and floor manager—were exceptionally professional, friendly, and attentive, making the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Food & Drinks We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented: Full English Breakfast – classic and satisfying. Pancakes – light, fluffy, and delicious. Avocado Toast – fresh and well-seasoned. Avocado Toast with Poached Egg – a perfect balance of textures and flavors. Shakshuka – rich, warming, and full of Mediterranean spices. As for drinks, we tried: Flat White – smooth and well-balanced. Cappuccino – creamy with a nice espresso kick. Hot Chocolate – rich and indulgent. Chamomile Tea – soothing and fragrant. I can’t give any higher than one star to places that rush people to leave when they’re on a table on their own, especially when there’s multiple free tables. I hadn’t even been here an hour, I had ordered a drink and food and was about to order more drinks when I was asked to leave, even though there were free seats I could see. I just hate it.

Me and my partner came in for some food, and we got told it was a 10 minute wait. Which we didn’t mind waiting. However while we waited we saw another group of people come in and they gave a table straight away. When I asked why they said the people had reserved a table online. Which was a lie as you can’t reserve a table online as it advertises “walk ins only”.

We had a delicious breakfast here when visiting Liverpool for the weekend. Delicious, well-prepared food in a contemporary setting with friendly service. Who could ask for more? Highly recommend!

Well maybe I expected more with all the great reviews here. But, after waiting for 20 minutes to be seated, which is not a problem, I don't think we were impressed with the brunch. The cappuccino was watery and not very tasty, I was expecting more from the other things we ordered (like the burger and the English breakfast), but the pancakes were actually very tasty. Just enormous but ok for 2-3 people.

Quiet little spot in Liverpool's student district opposite Grand Central. Decor is really nice, staff amazing and food is solid. Also great co-working space with big tables and great ambiance. You get free refills on Filter coffee ☕

Popped in for a sweet treat and coffee. Got a Mocha and the pistachio creme cookie and I really recommend. Tried my friend's lemon and pistachio blondie, I really love the variety of Pastries rather than just having the basics. They had a vegan option too! The barista was really lovely and the atmosphere was nice too :) Little bit spenny but as expected and at the usual rate for a coffee place

Another amazing brunch at Hardware!! Food came quick and was delicious. Special thanks to the host today he was so attentive and lovely even though it was so busy, he brought out hot chocolates to keep us warm in the queue!! Would 100% recommend!

The coffee is excellent, whether you prefer black or white. They sometimes offer a seasonal guest espresso option, which is worth trying. For black coffee lovers, their filter coffee includes one free refill—a great bonus! There’s also a small selection of pastries available, which you can enjoy in-house or take away. The staff I’ve met have always been friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Hardware Kitchen for both brunch and coffee lovers!

Really nice place - welcomed in and sat at a table with a view which is what it was! Really good experience for a quick lunchtime whilst in town. Hardy’s vegetarian butty was delicious as was the latté I ordered to my liking! Quite the uplift to a day in work! :)

First cafe I’ve ever been to in the world that don’t let you swap something on a breakfast, I asked if I could swap mushrooms for beans they said no and said it will be an extra £3.50 for beans taking a full English to £16.50. Food was bang average as well

First time visiting and had the best breaky we have had in a long time. Coffee was sooo tasty and food was so good. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were really friendly. We can’t wait too come back already 🩷

Been twice now, hash browns are a must! The scrambled egg is also so delicious, avocado overly lemony, and sausage patty too soft and moist it was off putting. The staff are so friendly and the coffee is to die for! Definitely try the honeycomb syrup

I had a hot chocolate with orange at the café, which was part of the special menu. The presentation was nice, but the drink kept spilling from the sides, which was annoying while drinking. I also ordered a pistachio French toast; it was good, but I didn’t really taste the French toast—it felt more like regular brioche. The service was good and fast, and the staff were very polite and friendly.

What a great place. I'm not from Liverpool but if I was this would be a regular haunt for sure. I was visiting for a works Xmas party and we popped in before the 3 hour journey home. The food, service and atmosphere were perfect. We had three breakfast burgers and one souffle pancakes. 10/10 food. Don't change a thing, you're doing it all very very well.

If you like paying 13.- for an avocado toast or you are an Instagrammer this place is for you!! Of course we ate well but that didn't break a duck's three legs. The Drops penne calèches beat up this industrial kitchen.

Unfortunately the pastries were stale and probably shouldn’t have been up for sale at the full price. The plates and milk jug were dirty. The milk for the tea had evident dust and bits of food floating in it. A member of my party went to the till to ask for new milk and over heard a member of staff (in the leopard print top) asking another member if we were ‘moaning’ about drinks taking too long. Very unprofessional. Overall disappointing.

Very good breakfast and delicious hot chocolate

I came on a Sunday, at 8:30 am it was open, I received very good service and very good food, a little above the average price, but it was worth it!

We went for a family Breakfast this morning (6 people). Already queues out of the door but we were really well looked after by a young lady who kept us informed and eventually found us a large table to eat together. Food was served quickly and was amazing! I can highly recommend the cheese and beans on toast with chorizo - fantastic! Our waitress looked after us really well and took the time to ask if we enjoyed our meal and really seemed to care, not something that happens too often these days.

Just average place trying to be relative with kinky serving plates and unusual combos

Since we were only staying for one night, we chose a place that we had been eager to try—Hardware Coffee + Kitchen. The café caught our attention for a couple of reasons. First, it’s a one-of-a-kind spot with just one location. Second, it operates on a walk-in only basis, with no online booking, which is rare for most restaurants in the UK, where bookings are usually required. This added to the appeal and made it feel like a hidden gem. The café is designed with a raw, industrial aesthetic, yet softened with greenery that gives it a charming vibe. We were lucky to visit when it wasn’t too busy, allowing us to take in the spacious mezzanine floor all to ourselves. The menu offers a wide variety of options, most of them hearty and generously portioned, though they do have some smaller dishes. I ordered the Eggs Benny, which is similar to the classic Eggs Benedict but with a slight twist. Alongside that, I had the Mini Toolbox, a smaller version of their larger breakfast dish called Hardy’s Toolbox, and of course, a Hot Latte to complete the meal. Everything tasted great, making it a solid choice for anyone looking for a satisfying breakfast in Liverpool. If you’re ever in town and need a good breakfast spot, Hardware Coffee + Kitchen is definitely worth a visit. . In Liverpool, there are many great breakfast places to eat in the morning. We were in Liverpool for 1 night, so we chose the restaurant we wanted to try the most. This shop is quite interesting. The first point we chose was that it was a shop with only one branch, and the second point was that it was a shop that accepted walk-ins only, without any online booking at all, which made us feel interesting. Because most restaurants in England require a reservation first. This restaurant is Hardware Coffee + Kitchen. It is a breakfast restaurant that has a mezzanine decorated in a raw style but combined with green trees to tone it down. Going down a little, it's quite cute. On the morning that we went, luckily there were no customers, so we were able to get pictures of the open mezzanine floor. The restaurant's menu has a lot to choose from. Most of which are large dishes. There will be a few small dishes on the menu. The menu we chose to order was Eggs Benny (similar to the Eggs Benedict menu but slightly modified) Mini Toolbox, a smaller size breakfast with a large plate called Hardy's Toolbox along with Hot Latte. The taste was considered okay. Who has gone looking for a breakfast place? This shop is considered good.

Hands down, one of my favourite brunch spots in the city! The food is incredibly tasty, bursting with flavour. My go-to dishes are the baked eggs and the pancakes, which are always light and fluffy. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is light and aesthetically pleasing. They also offer a Blue Light discount, which makes the experience even better!

Visited for lunch on a Monday, with the intention of working whilst eating before heading into town. Once I removed my laptop, a member of staff informed it was a laptop free zone and that if it became busy I would have to surrender my table irrespective of what I had just ordered. I understand that those working and occupying a space in cafes etc detracts from their potential earnings, however, there were 6 independent tables with individuals working on their laptops. Irritated by the inconsistent policy and blunt staff I cancelled my order and left. I suggest improving the consistency of enforcing this policy, or allocating time slots for covers to avoid alienating customers. Can't say I'll be returning any time soon, especially with the calibre of nearby cafes/lunchspots.

Disappointed as I read good reviews before going. Soggy toast and bad-quality mushroom in the dish I tried. The coffee foam presents awfully and the taste is unsurprisingly the same. Also they ask for tips before service, not sure when this has become a new fashion.

Went here for brunch. Parked my bicycle just across the street in the front. Plenty of seats, spacious area and comfy environment. Love the interior design. Welcomed with a jug of water. Ordered vegan tollbox, not a fan, the spice in the scrambled tofu so strong it's too bitter. But the french toast was so exquisite. They also have weekly special menu. Had pure gym membership so got 10% discounted. They have toolbox toy to make my toodler busy. Excellent service.

Ordered tool box breakfast, extremely disappointed. Baked beans are horrible, just white beans in an almost bolognese type sauce, drenched scrambled eggs served on top of soggy sour dough bread. Sausage and bacon average at best. Will not be returning.

The pancake was perfect, we tried 3 types of egg they were less than fine , the service was the worst we waited more than 45 min a lot of people came after us and there food arrived too earlier and the waitress were rude and didn’t gave us any attention, I would come back to get the pancakes take away not gonna stay for this kind of service.

It's OK the staff are friendly, food was nice, I had a problem with the milk for my tea, when a bottle is opened, it should be returned back to the fridge, and not left on the back counter.
