Food was pretty good overall. Belly pork was lovely and the main of roast beef with beetroot also pretty good sides were also great, desserts were a bit disappointing tbh but that may be personal preference. The chocolate brownie had too much dark chocolate and was more bitter than sweet but the mint ice-cream and snap on top were amazing. The wine was good but the cocktails were undrinkable. Several of us ordered a chilli margarita type drink and to a person no one could drink it because it was like drinking hot sauce. There was no sugar whatsoever we asked for some juice to water it down but still undrinkable. Service was really quite bad. Our table server was pleasant enough but as the night went on they Seemed to lose interest and we had to wait 45mins for the round of undrinkable cocktails despite the place not being busy (Last of 3 tables in the place) We were forgotten about in the basement and had to go up to ask for the bill because they just disappeared for an hour. When we went up our original server was sat by the bar just chatting to the barman. Service charge was included in the price which given the service was a bit of a joke. Its a shame really because the aesthetic of the place is nice and they clearly have talented chefs but the given the service we won’t be going back anytime soon.

This place is located in the going out area or student area. Really nice interior. Very welcoming. We went for brunch on a Sunday. Check the menu in advance to make sure there are choices that work for you. Brunch on Sunday is only served until midday. Service was really good, food quality was just great. On value for money, we would suggest you look in advance. Two breakfast dishes each and two loads of tea each was close to £60. Food price inflation has indeed hit English restaurants very hard indeed .

Food was absolutely diabolical for the price. £104 for 2-course for 2 persons. The steak (35 day aged Sirloin) was over cooked, tasteless and had no sear or salt over it. Starters were very salty, small portioned and just disappointing. Very disappointing for the price and wouldn’t recommend. Service as alright, though sitting next to the toilet hadn’t made the night any better. Unlucky night. Again, the food was really bad.

On our first day in Liverpool, we stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant, captivated by the inviting atmosphere and incredible aromas wafting through the windows. Though they were fully booked, we made a reservation for later in the week—and it was worth the wait! The food was outstanding, with reasonably priced 2- and 3-course options. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including the salsify, Brie, crispy chips, cod, and duck. The drink menu had something for everyone, from wine and cocktails to refreshing mocktails. The service was impeccable, and the whole experience made for a truly memorable meal. We can’t wait to come back!

First visit here for a birthday treat at this restaurant. Firstly the table we were given was next to the door,so every time anyone came through the door there was a gust of wind so much so I had to leave my coat on throughout the whole evening! (Not very pleasant) did ask the waiter and was told nothing can be done. Food was just standard in our opinion, very poorly presented, nothing special, extremely small portions, we ordered side dishes as extras , carrots came on tiny plate , probably one carrot sliced ..expensive meal for 4 people , Nothing was exceptional except the price ! We all decided we would not return to this restaurant again…..

Astounding food & service, our experience at Wreckfish was nothing short of Michelin worthy. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were meant to quick, enthusiastic and knowledgable service from all staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also perfect, with a variety of opens on the menu. Food was served quickly and too utter perfection. Myself and my partner both got the beef and all I can say about the quality of the food and the person behind it cooking it, is that you could taste every inch of thought, process and quality throughout. I particularly dislike red meat but Wreckfish left me looking online to branch out into eat more, as it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

The food and service are not bad, and the atmosphere is very nice, but the portions are really very small and the prices, in my opinion, very high and not justified. I took a starter and a dessert because I wasn't very hungry, and I paid 29 pounds, as if I had taken a starter and a main course. I pointed out that it didn't make much sense, but the waitress confirmed that you pay that amount for 2 courses. Furthermore, the cost of the service for 10% is mandatory included in the bill. I wouldn't go back.

We’ve eaten here in the past and really enjoyed it, but today!…ok we went for the bistro £15 bistro menu…yes the wine was more expensive 😜…but what a false economy…pea and mint soup came with no bread 🙈…does any place you know serve soup with no bread…really? ..they wanted extra for bread..shame! Then Sausage roll on a plate with sauce…like half a sausage roll…ok tasty, but half a sausage roll 😂….then the funniest thing ever was my spinach and goats cheese quiche…the smallest piece of quiche in the world on a big plate with a few bits of lettuce, it was so sad!, hubby got fish and chips…half a fish if that, no peas…do they do this to punish you because you chose a cheaper menu, it felt like 🙈…yes we did and deserved what we got. Won’t be back unfortunately, yes the staff were very friendly, nice place, had lovely food previously, but please don’t offer mediocre….off to get something to eat 😂

Lovely little bistro. We came on a Sunday night and had great 3 course meal! All excellent food. Attentive service and a nice atmosphere. We were upstairs and downstairs looked very different but seemed like a nice place to eat too. All the food was very fresh. I had the confit duck and it had a crunchy outside but was lovely and soft inside. We had the focaccia before the starters and although I thought it was going to be too much, it was light and had the perfect balance of seasoning. All 3 courses were great. I had a crème brûlée but my partner had the honeycomb ice cream and I was a little jealous because I had a bit of the honeycomb and it was really light and delicious. The crème brûlée was delicious too though! Very satisfying cracking the top and not as rich as I thought. Would 100% recommend! Excellent cocktails too

We had a great dinner here. Not having booked, we were seated downstairs but it i an appealing room all the same. The staff are very friendly and the food was excellent. My wife requested a menu variation which was accommodated willingly. Unfortunately we did experience quite extended delays (not just us we sensed) but appropriate apologises were made. The wine list is well selected and there are bottles at under £30 which is becoming unusual (in London at least). Wreck is not cheap but we thought it well worth it. I have knocked off a star owing to the delays, it would have been "excellent" otherwise.

Looking for somewhere new to eat this week and came across this fantastic looking bistro in Seel Street, down near the new Vignette/HIE that recently opened. Situated in an historic building, the vibe inside is early-2000s – think lots of bare brick, stripped wood and subway tile. Sort of like a cool and trendy New York warehouse apartment vibe. Still a good look even now. Style. Didn’t have a reservation but managed to get a table for two anyway on a Wednesday night (6:40, just after the ‘bistro’ menu ends) – a nice table as well. Window seat. Watch the people. Service was great, very attentive and the place had a great feel – very chilled. The kitchen is partially open, so you can see the attention paid to each meal. A lot of choice on the menu, which is seasonal – went for the chicken liver parfait (beautiful chutney, crunchy bread and smooth, smooth, pate 😊), followed by the schnitzel (caution – this contains a bone – but wow, that topper was superb – such delicate spice). Side of the truffle chips to accompany the main – these were seriously chunky, more like roast potatoes in stature than the chips of olde. Crunchy and fluffy inside. Superb first two courses – a lot of effort has gone into these. Dessert was the sticky toffee pud, of course. Alas, no custard option (the world has forsaken custard, it seems), but there was a rich sauce and ice cream. The menu is a fixed price – two courses for £43 or three for £49 – good value for high quality food. The seasonal menu apparently changes quarterly, so this was the end of days for the spring menu and next week they change to summer; in the same way as the sands of time fall through the hourglass, so it ever was. Nothing last forever and all things must change. I will try to come back in a couple of months and try the next menu. The beer was a craft can – Siren Pils Pastel lager. This was decent and served in a nice glass. You never know with craft beers – some can be a bit odd – a hit here though. Restaurant appears to be tiny when you first enter – do not be fooled, there is a large downstairs with a plethora of tables of different size – this was closed during my visit, but presumably opens at weekends, public holidays and other busy periods. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area – I see they also do very nice-looking breakfasts. Only a short walk from Liverpool Central if you’ve ridden the rails, with a car park opposite for the drivers. Lower price fixed menu available at lunchtime and early evenings may appeal if you’re doing a bit of shopping or sightseeing in the city.

Wreck Bistro in Liverpool exceeded all expectations during our recent dining experience. The Bistro Menu offered a perfect blend of sophistication without pretension, creating a fabulous atmosphere for an enjoyable evening with friends. The service was not only prompt but remarkably efficient, adding to the overall positive impression. The culinary journey began with the starters, where the Rosemary and thyme focaccia with olive oil and sea salt set the stage with its aromatic and savory notes. The Tutto fa Brodo (Curried Parsnip Soup) was a revelation of warmth and spice, while the Arancini with cauliflower and Parmesan, complemented by charred spring onion dressing, displayed a harmonious marriage of flavors and textures. Moving on to the mains, the Wild boar sausage with fennel tomato & chilli rigatoni, adorned with lemon and thyme pangrattato, was a standout dish. The robust and well-balanced flavors of the sausage combined seamlessly with the tangy tomato and hint of chili, creating a memorable palate experience. The sides elevated the meal to a new level of indulgence. Truffle Parmesan chips were a decadent treat, perfectly balancing the earthy truffle with the rich Parmesan. The Long-stem broccoli with extra virgin olive oil and lemon provided a refreshing and zesty contrast, enhancing the overall dining experience. Desserts concluded the evening on a sweet note. The honeycomb ice cream delivered a delightful crunch and sweetness, while the Lemon panna cotta with rose syrup and pistachio offered a sophisticated blend of citrus and floral notes, leaving a lasting impression. Considering other online reviews for Wreck Bistro in Liverpool, it's clear that this establishment consistently delights patrons with its exceptional service and culinary prowess. My experience aligns seamlessly with the positive feedback, confirming Wreck Bistro as a premier dining destination in Liverpool, where every dish is crafted to perfection, and the overall experience is nothing short of five-star excellence.

The £49 for 3 courses option is very expensive for the ingredients used. Cheaper cuts of meat or fish (lamb’s tongue, the now ubiquitous feather blade of beef- an historic cheap cut now repackaged with Hollywood prices, sea trout etc). But I enjoyed what I ate. But a bit stingy with the mash/broccoli on my sea bass fillet. Sides are eye watering prices too. Wine excellent and service very good. So just really a point off as I can’t say it’s value for money really. In fact, I’d go as far to say expensive for what it is. Bill for 2, one of whom had no alcohol was £141, including service charge.

Close to where we were staying so visited twice, for breakfast and so pleased we did. A lovely bistro with excellent service that could be so easily missed. Their Wreckfish Full breakfast is probably the best I've ever had and I'm 70 years old! Would most definitely return.

What a restaurant! The food was incredible, the place is beautiful and love that you can see the kitchen from most of the tables. We had the schnitzel (omg!) truffle fries and the honeycomb dessert which was heaven. The orangecello cocktail was like spring in a glass. Service lacked a bit (having to get their attention) and only one (shared toilet) which is the disabled toilet which isn’t ideal. But this won’t deter me from coming back.

Sorry but a £21 per course for 2 courses is way too expensive for the food you get. Our bill came to £154 for 2 people .. it’s no wonder people don’t eat out is it..?

Been on my bucket list for a while & when better but a wedding anniversary. Out server was a delightful mixture of informative and friendly without being over bearing. We were early birds so difficult to comment on atmosphere- BUT the space has a good vibe about it.

The food here was excellent! We had the bistro menu which was priced brilliantly and the perfect amount to enjoy all three courses if desired. The staff were delightful, friendly and knowledgeable. All in all exactly what you want from a meal out.

An Evening meal Liverpool. An unplanned visit. Whilst in a bar,we were asked where we were staying. "On seel Street."So you're next to Wreck." "Are we?" We must have walked past it at least four times when taking our dogs for a walk and not seen it. Why? Because it's covered in scaffolding. We managed to find the entrance and made a last-minute booking and returned once we took our dogs back to the hotel as they were not allowed inside. Wreck serves simple, straightforward, bistro food at lunch and dinner, seven days a week, plus breakfast at the weekends. Set within the Ropewalks area of Liverpool City Centre, it features an open kitchen and dining over two floors. As we'd dined out at lunchtime, we didn't go overboard and chose a couple of starters. Madeira-braised pig's cheek. Gin-cured sea trout. These were both simple but delicious. For Mains Halibut fillet, pak choi, crispy enoki mushrooms, black noodles caramelised celeriac broth, toasted nori. This was very tasty and could be described as a ramen. Chicken schnitzel with a shawarma spiced butter apricot. pickled green chilli and toasted almonds. white cabbage and onion salad, yoghut. We didn't order sides or a dessert as we're not gluttons. Although we were very tempted as it's extremely good value at £42 for two courses or £48 for three courses. We'll demolish the rest of the menu another time as we loved our visit to Liverpool. Service was smiley, friendly, and helpful. We're ashamed to say this was our first visit to any of the Elite Bistro venues, mainly because we haven't ventured to this neck of the woods for a long time. It certainly won't be the last. That's a sure bet,Gary Usher.

Enjoyed our visit, decent bistro type food and pleasant service. Queried a couple of things on the bill and they were rectified with a smile. A very civilized lunch.

The food, service & ambience is second to none. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both were exceptional. The kitchen is open which highlights the skill and confidence of the chefs. The waiting staff were also amazing and very professional and made the experience extra special. We would highly recommended. We can't wait to visit again. Thankyou.

I have wanted to visit Wreckfish for ages, so booked to go today for lunch with a friend for her birthday. Well I wasn’t disappointed. From the warm, friendly welcome on arrival by Mia, the fabulous service by Clara, to the delicious food. Had the 3 course menu , focaccia, Ragu and Walnut praline ice cream, loved them all. My friend is vegetarian she said her food was also delicious. I’d mentioned it was my friends birthday on booking but she didn’t want a fuss, Clara brought over a plate with Happy Birthday In chocolate and some fudge. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Had the best couple of hours here. Service was friendly, but not intrusive, definitely 5 stars for service as well as food! Will be returning for sure, amazing value for money even the regular priced menu for the quality of the food. Thank you for the best experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We had a post-christmas lunch here. Although the exterior of the building was wrapped in scaffolding and plastic sheets, the interior was warm and inviting. The restaurant is situated on the ground floor with an open plan kitchen and about a dozen tables. Very cosy! The service was excellent, reasonably quick and friendly. The food was top rate. I had a starter (mexican chicken), main (flat top steak cooked pink) and dessert (honeycomb vanilla ice-cream). With beer, coffee and service charge, I paid about £50 which I think was good value given the quality and it left me feeling stuffed. I'd go back again.

Tasty, imaginative food. The sauce with the venison dish was amazing. I had to order a foccaccia (possibly the best I've tasted, certainly in the uk). The Cailiflower dish was also fantastic, according to my vegetarian wife. The staff were friendly and attentive.

What a lovely restaurant in the heart of Liverpool. The food was excellent and you can see straight into the kitchen and watch the chefs prepare you food. The Wreckfish (like the name of the restaurant is great) and the butternut squash is a must! Would highly recommend, a great experience

Had the Festive Prix Fixe Menu. Always wanted to visit this place, finally got around to it. Paul Askew is a big champion of the local business/hospitality community and is a classic Chef in the mould of Marco Pierre White in my opinion. Food was amazing, also the service was too, a truly memorable experience, will be back. Highly Recommended.

It was Ok but not great - sandwich fillings were not the best quality and should be given that you get one finger sandwich of each filling - prawn cocktail one especially cheap tasting The cakes were nice but again not great Views amazing staff lovely
