It was a lovely Sunday lunch. We had to pre-order which is tricky but it was a very large group so understandable. The staff were very kind understanding and courteous. The manager was lovely and helpful. The venue is a beautiful old pub decorated with care and sensitivity. All in all very nice thank you x

Went with friends first visit, lovely surroundings and interiors,old pictures etc.Prompt helpful staff, menu varied but not over large, good choice for everyone including vegan.The star of the show was the scotch egg, with mayo highly recommend.Will return if in the area.

Went for the beer festival as well as lunch. A really well organised event so well done to all the staff at the Bell Inn! A great selection of mainly local beers although some from further away such as the legendary Thornbridge brewery. Had a pizza cooked on their woodfired oven which was great. Nice vibe about the place with some live music laid on as well as the BBQ and Pizza oven going through out the afternoon. I hope that they sold out of their beer as there is always a lot of planning and risk with these sort of events and the English weather can make or break them so well done again for putting this event on.

Out for dinner at 7:30pm on a Friday…we were greeted by Holly and Caitlin who were very attentive and friendly. Starters- Smoked crevettes for 1 of our party and the others had asparagus in green Thai sauce with pickled ginger which was absolutely divine. For mains we all had the specials menu plaice with sautéed potatoes green cabbage and a white wine and cockle sauce, which was also stunning. Desserts were Eton mess and chocolate Coca Cola cake with cherry ice cream. The service, food and value for money is always spot on but this was undoubtedly the best meal we’ve ever had here. Credit to Will for front of house and making us feel so welcome. Will we be back?….100%, we love it here. Harley the manager does a great job in making this so friendly and welcoming and this is reflected in its popularity and the great atmosphere.

This is not 'pub grub', but excellent restaurant quality fare. Absolutely delicious food. We both had a fish dish, and they were SO good. Very reasonable prices too. Pub is large and very clean. Dogs wecome in the bar area and outside. Staff lovely. Cannot recommend enough.

Excellent place for a family gathering to enjoy a birthday celebration meal. Staff are very welcoming and attentive and make it a very special occasion. Menu is great with plenty of choices from both the main and special menu . The food is delicious and the service perfect with no great pauses between courses . Special mention of the young lady who served us who was particularly amiable towards our young grandson. A lovely spacious and comfortable venue and would definitely recommend it.

I have reviewed before and given a five star. I do so again without hesitation. This time for a Sunday lunch. Pleasant surroundings, great food, great service. About £35 per head for a shared starter and desert plus two drinks each. Genuinely one of the best pubs in North Suffolk. I am lucky enough to live close by. The quality has never wavered. Pubs like this deserve to be applauded.

We all had fantastic meals which were thoroughly enjoyed! The service was outstanding, staff were very attentive and polite. Great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning!

How to places cam be so different, eat at the jolly sailors last night (Amazing) eat at the bell carlton colville, presentation amazing the steak was awful, out of our party of 12 four of us had steak and all four said the same, I told the waitress and alls she said is I will tell the chef, we will take our £500 somewhere else next time.

Booked last minute but had a lovely evening meal. Belly pork delicious. Service very good.

Wonderful atmosphere, quiet on a tuesday lunchtime. Staff were friendly and engaged, even catered to my rather strange request of only cucumber (instead of salad) with my lunch. Super tasty food and reasonably priced.

Saturday lunchtime visit for an early Mothers Day lunch. Been here a few times and have never been let down be it lunch, dinner or even a wake ! Today was special as we had our 91 year old wheelchair using mother with us. The staff were fantastic in accommodating her including offering her a child’s portion instead of an adult full price meal - she doesn’t eat a large meal. Standard menu with plenty of variety, plus classic dishes and 3 special starters and 3 special mains. If anything a couple of special deserts would make each visit different. Good ales on tap. 2 courses for a family of 6 with drinks and tea / coffee for £175.

High end pub food, bordering on bistro quality but without the price tag. Clean and tidy (staff and premises), interesting menu catering for a range of tastes and food interests without being overwhelming or boringly similar to chains. Nice atmosphere achieved by upcycled furnishings and decor, and clearly popular. It's a pub, not a classy restaurant, so it's friendly rather than smart, but the food is great.

Excellent customer service and so friendly. We had two children with us and their portion sizes were very good. The food was beautifully presented and lovely. We will definitely be back.

We have just had a very special lunch here celebrating our birthdays 70 &72 years . Both my husband and I were meeting up with our son and family for a quiet Sunday lunch together. Well what a treat ! The food was fantastic we all had roast beef and desserts. Our 5 year old grandson ate everything it was so delicious. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are very attentive. So surprised that the staff noticed we were celebrating birthdays that our desserts arrived with candles ! How lovely is that ? Thank you for being such a wonderful place to enjoy lunch .

Me and my partner came here on my birthday last thursday with my little dog.. I had the fish and chips, and my partner had the BBQ cheese burger with fries... The food was delicious! The service was amazing! Could not fault it! Thank you :)

Staff are amazing. Very quick service and very polite, helpful, and attentive. Food is delicious, and all made fresh in house. Beer is well looked after, clearly lines etc are done properly. Local ales and fresh food - marvellous! Definitely recommend this place 😃

Visited last night as a party of 10. Service was exceptional as always, everyone's food came out at the same time, and was delicious. Would highly recommend the katsu scotch egg *chef's kiss* the waiting staff were attentive and were very polite and friendly. Can't fault a thing. Special thanks to Harley for helping me book the table... Only took me three attempts to get the right amount of diners...

We have always had great meals here; everything is well presented a tasty. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is great; a family and pet friendly pub. We usually love the desserts, but on this latest occasion we weren’t so keen. The banana crème brûlée didn’t come out as the pics on social media (no caramelised banana or crumb) and the crème brûlée was really sickly, as was the chocolate cheesecake. We usually have great desserts, so probably just bad luck and a one off. We would definitely recommend for any meal or celebration!

Booked a family 90th birthday party here. Fantastic experience, no detail was too small for staff to deal with, especially checking food intolerance. The food was a credit to the team and the staff were really helpful and polite. Mum had a great time and so did we all. The whole experience was great value too! The manager was the epitome of a team leader. Inspirational and helpful. The Bell does not disappoint.

Really enjoyed this pub. The Katsu Scotch Egg was delicious and so was the fish pie. And they accommodated my dog Pandora by grilling her a chicken breast. Will definitely return.

Amazing venue for family and friends

Visitors to the area and chose this pub based on reviews. It was excellent. Top notch food - we both went for the venison suet pudding. Puddings were great too. Very polite and professional service and a good vibe in the whole place. We even went back the next day for a couple of drinks. Again the service was very friendly.

Great pub but unfortunately it's food let it down on this occasion. Wwve been here many times but found its hit and miss lately. We ordered two salmon dishes and I specifically asked for my salmon to be pink as it was over cooked in the past but both dishes were very dry! We should have complained but didn't discuss our meals until afterwards when we both said the salmon was very dry and over cooked! Dad had a chicken wrap dish, can't remember what it was called but he said it was dry too and left most of it which is unusal as he normally eats everything on his plate! The fish and chips I was told was good but thats one out of the 4 dishes. Shame as it put us off coming back for food! Think they need to review what their chef is doing as I called in for a drink another night and the restaurant was empty!

What a gorgeous pub. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The food was exquisite. Best steak my husband says he's ever had. Melt in the mouth. Lovely starter, mains & dessert. Staff were friendly & attentive but not in your face. I think our waiter was called Greg, and he was very polite. We did book a table, but a September evening, early week, it probably wasn't necessary. Outside seating for warmer days. There's a beautiful original flagstone floor & the place is full of charm. We will definitely return.

Went to the bell inn for Sunday lunch , service ,food ,and ambiance all 5 star . Definitely not “chain pub “ food . Roast beef dinner delicious and my husband sad his sea bass was delicious too . We will absolutely return next time we’re in the area .

This is my local bar, we love coming here, been many times over the years they have great food great drinks and host great events. Can't recall having a bad day/evening here.

I had high expectations for the pizza here as the food is said to be really good and they’ve built an area outside with a pizza oven. Unfortunately the dough and pizza making needs a lot of work. My pizza was undercooked, doughy and floppy as hell. For the price this is totally unacceptable. Anyone who knows and loves good pizza will have been to brick pizza in Norwich, amazing pizzas and you don’t pay more than £13 for a pizza. £14 my pizza was at the bell and it so substandard, I’ve had better pizza at spoons. Also £12 for a margarita is a joke, a margarita is £9 at brick and they’re worlds apart. We ordered a side of fries (also extortionate) and they were undercooked. I don’t mind paying the prices if the food is worth it but in this case it wasn’t and I’m regretting wasting my money. Garlic mayo was good. I’ve also been before for steak and it was lovely. The pizza is just really not worth it

Great welcome, upbeat, as soon as we walked in the pub. Attentive service from the outset followed by delicious food. We would definitely choose The Bell as our first choice, next visit.

We stopped on route to Oulton Broads for a bite to eat and rest. The pub served very good food. The beef sandwich with salad and chips was superb! Would recommend this place to eat at anytime.

We were staying at a local holiday park and we travelled to the bell for Sunday lunch, it was possibly the nicest roast we had ever eaten. Staff were really friendly and the place was very clean. Food came out very promptly after ordering. 100%...

I ate at the Bell last night with my mum. We were really impressed with everything. It's a lovely pub, the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, especiallythe main waiter. We were very comfortable and there was a nice relaxed yet buzzing atmosphere. We both had fish pies, which I highly recommend, they were made to a high standard with care and creativity, so complements to the chef too. We look forward to coming again. The only thing that could be improved is the lighting in the snug.

Went for meal with family and grandkids last Sunday. Sat outside as nice day. Excellent friendly staff nothing was too much trouble for them. Went the extra mile bringing out a high chair without us even asking.They did kids roast and accommodated the youngest who has dairy allergy but doing hers separately. Well enjoyed by all I had baked cod would fully recommend. Well done to all would certainly recommend a visit.

Today we had a lovely meal for our friends birthday. The pub was very welcoming and Williams music playlist was excellent we all had a sing song at the table which was good fun. Thanks and will be returning again soon.

Brilliant array of ales, beautifully cooked pork belly and my wife had a huge beer battered cod with the best chips ever, really lovely pub.

We had a great time Saturday night. We had a large party of 23. The food was excellent, service was great, none of us could fault it. A big thank you to the Bell for making my evening special.
