Great meal had here on Saturday 😁 food was delicious 😋 We felt a little rushed though 🫤 our main course came when we were still eating our first course and was asked about dessert very quickly after finishing our mains🥴

Excellent food and plenty of it, definitely worth a visit.

Steaks were really good portions , pork loin special was amazing and beef wellington was faultless , pork belly starter was lovely and truffle cheese chips, lovely selection of cocktails on offer and Zinfandel was very good !

We’ve always heard really great things about Wine Vaults. I haven’t eaten here for a long, long time so I was excited to come for dinner with friends. Unfortunately it wasn’t great. The food was okay, I had the chicken supreme. It was nice however for the price we paid it didn’t come with much…and the sauce was bland. I had sticky coffee pudding for desert - that was burnt… One of our friends had a white chocolate brownie.. the presentation was .. well, it didn’t look like a white chocolate brownie, didn’t taste like one and it came out broken, looking more like an apple crumble. For the price you are paying for the food - we really expected more. It was really underwhelming and really overpriced which was disappointing. On the plus side - the staff were really lovely and attentive, and addressed the concerns we had. Although it’s a lovely place to have a drink, I won’t be returning for food!

The vegetarian option had no protein and wasn't even an option, because they only do one dish for vegetarians. It wasn't worth what I paid because it was mainly potatoes. Quite tasty but boring and you didn't even have a choice of which carbohydrate to have.

Visited this establishment unfortunately it was nowhere near as good as it used to be. The pan fried chicken was average and not cheap at £22 which I don’t mind paying if it’s good! This time the potato tasted microwaved and the veg was cold. The place was empty which isn’t a good sign sorry but won’t be returning.

Friendly staff and such an atmospheric place, it's so nice to go somewhere where you feel welcomed and the staff can't do enough for you,the cellar is amazing a must for anyone that hasn't been here

The best pub in Beccles, staff friendly, food and drink great and the place it self is excellent. Popped in for a snack, had a lovely sandwich and coffee, booked a table for that night while there. Excellent food and service, staff very friendly. Second time this year we've visited Beccles and went here both times.

The food and service was excellent. The only thing that let it down was the cheeseboard. Well worth a vist just don't have the cheese!

We booked 20 days in advance with email confirmation. On the night our booking was not there. We were seated in the bar area next to the door. There was a drunk girl shouting and swearing. We ordered and food was ok. When we went to pay and complained the waiter (Chris, who seemed to be in charge) said ‘I knew you were going to be like that’ as if it was our fault! A terrible dining experience with no apology.

Lunch Menu was very disappointing more snacks than meals, moved on to somewhere else

Had a lovely table for 8 upstairs, food was really good, from fish and chips, pork loin special, burger all were spot on, starters were lovely too, service was brilliant, would definitely visit again

Second time my Son and I have been here for dinner, first time we had the Pork with Crackling which was unreal, Came here again last week whilst Parents where visiting and we all had the Roast Beef which was excellent and a cheeky pot of extra gravy for me. my Son had the Fish n Chips which he assures me was amazing(although I didn't get a taste lol). Staff very Friendly would definitely recommend

Confit duck like shoe leather. Staff did offer to change it, but that would have left us not eating together, so we declined. They said something would be removed from the bill but 2 glasses of wine, 2 main and 2 desserts came to over £80. Over priced and underwhelming. Locals who won't be going back any time soon.

We stopped in for lunch, had a great table upstairs the Pork Belly was excellent service friendly and food well priced the desert was also excellent.

Very tough meat for roast dinner. Came here with family as we have been before with no concerns. I had the roast beef and the meat would not cut with the knife. I managed to get some off and chewed this, I soon realised that I could not chew this.My Brother in law tried this too and he spat this out as it was inedible. The waitress seemed to become stroppy when she asked if all was ok mid way through the meal and was told the beef was too tough to eat. No apology was offered or any more said regarding my concern. I ate two potatoes , green beans and burnt parsnip x 1, the Yorkshire was cold. I feel £19 was slightly overpriced for that. On paying the bill we were advised the price of a pint of cider was removed, there was nothing wrong with my cider, just the poor quality of the food and poor service. We will think twice about returning now. Very disappointed.

Well I've come away feeling very disappointed. As much as I enjoyed my steak, even though the peppercorn sauce was runny, 2 of the guests had the duck leg with dauphinois potatoes and cherry brandy sauce (supposedly, it was just plain gravy) it which was all sooo bland and yes we all had a taste...no garlic in the potatoes, wasnt seasoned well, there was no brandy sauce, and the duck had no flavour at all...that one meal on its own was £20. We did let them know as i feel the chef should know, but we just got a "sorry," from the server, so I don't even know if the message was passed onto the chef. I won't bother going there anymore which Is a shame..

We travel from yarmouth to beccles after read open for lunch got their tuesday at 1.15 pm and all locked an chairs up 😡😡😡

We had been recommended to dine here and were not disappointed. Fantastic food, and great value. Welcoming and friendly staff with the right amount of attention. Tried the homemade Boujee Fizz which was excellent. Would highly recommend👍

Delicious food as always but was spoilt by the head chef who caused a scene by ranting at the 2 female bar staff right where we were eating our meal. We were not impressed.

Good food, service and atmosphere, would give 6 stars if I could! Been a wonderful start to my holiday and writing this review makes me want to go back to have more!

This restaurant is second to none for fantastic food and atmosphere. Just had the most amazing pork belly and beef bourginon. Excellent taste and brilliant value for money. Put this place on your list to visit. You will not be disappointed. Staff very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Chef is worth his weight in gold!.. Loved everything about this wonderful wine bar restaurant.. Thank you so much. Will be visiting again.

Amazing, absolutely amazing. Me and my partner went to the wine vaults for dinner on a quiet Monday night and we were the only people dining. The server was welcoming and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely gorgeous, we had the focaccia bread and pork scratchings for our starter. The focaccia was baked to perfection, if I had more room in my stomach I would’ve eaten the entire loaf. Four our mains we had the duck and the beef wellington. Both were absolutely perfect, with a special mention to the truffle mash that came with the beef wellington, I would go back just for a bowl. The wine vaults is that restaurant you always hear great things about but never get around to going - but you need to! The food alone is 5 star and the service is impeccable!

Watched a great singer here and had a great time. Very friendly staff, great atmosphere and brilliant selection of beers/largers on tap.

Lovely atmosphere and staff friendly and helpful but food wasn't great. Risotto was so vinegary and had a lot going on, the lamb burger was very compact with not much flavour. Chips were good and plenty of food, just shame about the taste.

Nice place friendly good food good service. Music a little to loud. Small 4 inch step into the premises, so wheelchair can get in but will be a little struggle.

Lovely evening at the Wine Vaults, haven't been for a long while and was really pleased we did. Great food, everyone had something different and all really enjoyed. I annoyed that I'm givng one star as it doesn't deserve any !!! Appalling service, rude and the ',owner' is stupid beyond words, made me feel ashamed of the extreme allergy I have....no apologies from her. I will take this further, as it upset me so much. No class.....don't waste your time and money..

Booked in the quiet January... Nice pub. Just to chill midweek. Food was excellent. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend. When the county starts opening up again when spring breaks into life. A wee gem... Try it out. Close to the lovely town. Shops Etc.. Friendly staff. Good beers 🍻 You won't be disappointed.

Lovely meal this evening, cooked to perfection! Generous portions, excellent customer service, good atmosphere, lovely venue. Lots of choices on the menu and very good value for money. Will definitely be back again and highly recommend it!!

3rd Dec 2023 . Some reviews nearly put me off going . But like to give all places a chance. And so glad we did . Party of 6 . Lamb brisket duck Turkey all meals so good meals all nice and hot . Nibbles to start with olives pork scratching mixed nuts bread with vinaigrette. Sweets lemon cheese cake the girls loved them . Lads had Irish coffee went down a treat 😋. Well done to all staff and especially the chef 👩‍🍳 thanks for a lovely 😍 meal

The Chef that used to work and serve amazing food has definitely moved on. Not as good as it used to be.

No complaints about the food or the hardworking staff. Just devoid of atmosphere and ambience. A bit of background music would go a long way.

We randomly stumbled across this place on holiday, whilst wet, hungry and with a young child and large dog in tow. Thankfully we were welcomed in with open arms. Lunch time food and hospitality were both amazing and they even went the extra mile with a special food request for our daughter and biscuits and water for the dog. Highly recommended.

Delicious food 😋 Two of us had the lamb, and two had steaks. All were really tasty and cooked to perfection. Desserts were really good, the Eaton mess was so big that the table next to us had one between four!! Would recommend everyone to try this restaurant if in the area. We went on a Monday evening and all tables were taken so it's clearly popular!

The food was great and I had a great dining experience last night. That said, towards the end of my meal I witnessed a man walk in from the street, put his bare hands into the ice bucket used for making drinks, rub ice over various parts of his sweaty body to cool himself, and then throw the remaining bits of ice in his hands back into the bucket. I told our waitress what had happened and they didn’t change the ice and continued making drinks from it for the other guests in the establishment. I’m not sure why they didn’t see this as gross and warranting a batch of new/clean ice, but I certainly didn’t proceed with ordering cocktails after this. I prefer cocktails not made with someone’s bath water.

Nice place, good service but the food wasn't great. My steak burger was very overcooked/dry and my wife's beef Wellington was so rare we thought it might still be alive, Chef might of been having a bad night. Will give it another try.

Having been recommended thought we would give it a try. Unfortunately my husband had to send both the mains he attempted to have back so ended up leaving without having eaten a meal. I had sea bass which was ok but not the best.

Lovely pub decent beer (real ales and keg), historic building do visit the vaults underneath (hence the name ...) at time of writing the wine vaults underneath just being refurbished and expect they will be very impressive when completed. Thanks to all for making my day out in Beccles super x

Have visited this restaurant numerous times and the food and service is always brilliant , the young girl who served us was amazing from seating us to the end of the evening would deffinetly visit again. 😀

Staff were good, and friendly. Didn't eat, so can't comment on the food and, it's was a Monday night with only me, my friend and one other customer, so atmosphere is difficult to comment on too. Although, given the number of people (more staff than customers), it was nice enough, and I'm sure I'll be back.

Review date: 16th September 2022 Restaurant: The Wine Vault. We planned a restaurant visit with a recommendation from three long term friends. As our friends suggested this restaurant, The Wine Vault, we thought we would give it a visit. They booked a table for five at the restaurant; we were not disappointed. The Wine Vault had a certain charm and a delightful ambiance. The food was excellent and the young lady, Holly, gave us friendly and fantastic service. The selection of dishes on offer was great, I had a tasty sea bass dish. My wife had a fabulous beef wellington, all thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Overall a fabulous visit and I feel sure that we will return again. Thank you Holly and the team you not only made us welcome but gave us an evening to remember, thank you. X💜

Took my parents here for a birthday meal and was very impressed. The staff were very friendly and attentive but not in your face all the time. The food itself was outstanding, my belly of pork was melt in the mouth delicious and everything served was excellent. I will certainly be returning and recommend this venue to everyone.

We popped in to the Vailts, it was Friday’s evening and we didn’t book a table. The restaurant was full that made us to wait about half an hour for the table. I assume the place is very popular. It was packed with companies. We had backed goat cheese with onion chutney that we quickly shared for 3. For mains we ordered the burger, small Beef Wellington and 8oz steak. And polished with a Lotus cheese cake with vanilla ice cream. We didn’t order wine, just 2 ales. For 3 of us it was about 75£ that is a bit expensive. But the quality of the food and service is very good. I think it’s a nice place to meet with friends, any kind of celebrations.

We had fond memories of this restaurant from 4 years ago and as we were visiting we booked a table in the vault underground. Everything about this place is spot on, it’s clearly a hub for the community and visitors alike, really friendly staff and Jodie was was very welcoming offering a fantastic service from greeting to leaving. A true professional. Light music, candles and the food was the next level. We will be back again with the children and for something a bit special this is the place. Highly recommended. Had a lovely 3 course meal. Duck for starters, Beef Wellington for main and Raspberry &white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. All were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and great service provided.

We ate here midweek and the service and food were amazing. We had the beef Wellington and ostrich steak, everything was fantastic. We had the fortune of Holly for our waitress, no only did she have a great sense of humour she even took the time to show my husband and I around the rest of the restaurant especially down to the vaults part of the restaurant. My two adult sons and me were extremely hungry after a full day visit to RSPB Winsmere on 6thFeb 2022 and looked for a nice pub meal on the way out..Thanks God they were all either closed for food service or very busy..Then When we were about to drop off my eldest son to his home in Beccles, we realized this restaurant was open.Absolutely Brilliant Experience all over.İ am a tour guide traveling all around the world and leading groups to different restaurants for over 30 years but I was never impressed by a restaurant in this scale..How yummy and nicely presented food was..But most importantly two kindest human beings served food,hosted us,made sure we were well looked after with greatest attention when we needed . Honestly most genuine smile ever..Thanks a million...I wish We have asked the names of both waitresses....I had salmon and Prawn with Thai jasmine rice.Younger son had the burger.Elder son had fish meal as mains.Portions are large,food is yummy ,service is top notch..I definitely will come back 🙏🙏🙏

Three of us ate here in December. We had olives to start and Ostrich main course. The food was good although I wouldn’t have Ostrich again as it was a bit chewy. All nicely presented and a good wine list. It was £80+ for three to eat with no starter or pudding but a bottle of wine (£23) and a sharing cheese platter which I felt was a bit pricey and would probably mean I wouldn’t rush back other than for a light snack. Very nice place overall.

Lovely meal, piping hot! Staff friendly/helpful...desserts expensive and very small for price which is a shame as quality was very good.
