We booked here as it is we located for Stratford upon Avon and Chipping Campden. We found it difficult to park when we arrived sonit would be good to have some spaces for residents only. The room was lovely and clean and had a nice bathroom with good toiletries. However the room was very small, with a huge unit in the corner and every surface was full so it felt cluttered and you were limited on space for your own belongings. Perhaps replace that unit and the tiny bedside tables with small drawers to maximise space. The food in the restaurant was very good and the chef was very attentive to our needs. As reaidents itbwoumd have been nice to have a cosy sofa or something in the bar to relax after dinner. The place has lots of potential - it just needs some tweaks. We do recommend d dining there.

Unfortunately, this isnât a good review at all after loving this place for so long. We booked for a Sunday lunch for a table of 3 including our two year old son. I had the pork, my wife had the beef and we ordered a childâs roast dinner. First of all we ordered some drinks which, one didnât arrive so I had to ask the waitress when it would come. When the food arrived it was immediately underwhelming. The pork portion looked large, but it was mostly fat, and âcracklingâ was soggy. The roast potatoâs were so dry and hard to cut, and the same goes for the Yorkshire pudding. The veg included 1 very small carrot and some dry cabbage. There was a side of cauliflower cheese, this was also disappointing. We paid the bill and left promptly, only to call the pub later that day to ask if there was anything wrong that day with the chef, and to voice our dissatisfaction with what was a fantastic pub. They apologised, but insisted the food is cooked to what they believe the correct standard, they have offered us a refund of one of the meals, however this has yet to be received. I really hope this place improves. It use to be a fantastic place for Sunday lunch. When you go out for food you expect to eat better than you would at home, sadly for this place, we should have stayed at home!

They had an issue with their phone today (hadn't been put on their charging cradle correctly so phone kept dying in the first minute of a call). First time I called I checked whether the cov game would be on and then it died. Second time, I got as far as saying I wanted to book a table but provided no details of time, numbers etc and the phone died. I gave up and hoped we'd be able to get a table by just turning up. The guy behind the bar asked if I'd called and I said yes, he was profusely apologetic, had a table ready for us in case we showed up and it was right by the TV. Service was then prompt and excellent and just little things like we are a family of four (one in a pushchair not eating, one who is 5 eating a kid's meal). When he brought the pot of cutlery and sauces over: two sets of adult cutlery, one set of children's cutlery. We had brought our own children's cutlery as usually places don't have any but even when they do, we normally have to ask for it. Food was neither too slow nor too quick and was superb in terms of taste and presentation. Specials were appealing and the menu was varied and sounded great. We had a chicken salad, signature burger and kid's burger. The burgers are from Aubrey Allen đđŸ. Desserts were also good, I particularly enjoyed my chocolate bread & butter pudding. Finally, to cap it all off, we walked in with Cov trailing 2-0 at half time and left victorious; 3-2 over Luton with an injury time winner. I'll eat there every week if they can get us promoted...

I had walked to this pub by myself, I had not booked but I thought I'd be able to have the bar menu and pint although there was tables available I was told we are fully booked and the chef would not accept a booking. If you're in the hospitality trade as I am this is the wrong attitude. You squeeze a one-off in somewhere especially when there's room.

I have nothing but praise for the consistent quality of food, wine and beer provided by this gorgeous pub on the edge of Truro city centre. It's an award-winning combination under the masterful stewardship of Tom Hannon. Don't leave Cornwall without paying a visit. If you're a local, you should already know just how good it is. I'll be back, as soon as I can...

Welcoming and great homecooked food, nothing fancy, just good, tasty wholesome food. We had two Lasagnes and a fish n chips and Scampie enjoyed by all and generous portion sizes. Family and very dog friendly. A lovely atmosphere and character. We would be very happy to return. Thanks

We stayed for three very pleasant nights and dined twice. An attentive manager supported by his young but professional resturant staff enhanced an excellent experience. Obviously with its good resturant grading we expected good food. We got it - A very good chef resides here. We tried fish & chips the first night - absolutely lovely. The second dinner we went for nibbles to start followed by Cod chowder dishes with new potatoes, amazing special fries & fresh peas with asparo. Very good portions were served and all were perfectly cooked. The french wine we chose was equally good. Next time we visit the area we will stay & dine here.

An impromptu choice to visit Plato's today and what a brilliant decision and choice. We had a really superb meal and were made to feel very welcome by Ronnie, who looked after us! We had the fish finger sourdough sandwich and the chicken and paprika mayo sandwich...accompanied by parmesan and truffle chips đ đ absolutely delicious. All washed down with a delightful glass of rose wine. We will definitely be returning. It was such a great culinary treat.
