The Lewisham in Sandwell

WOW - very impressed! I was a little nervous beforehand, because catering for a party of 22 and getting the meals all out together and hot is never easy, even though we'd pre-ordered. However, we were all very impressed -  the service from the staff was excellent, the meals were all beautifully prepared and delicious, and the bar staff were friendly and efficient too. I'd have no hesitation in recommending The Lewisham Bar & Restaurant

Great atmosphere and delicious food! We went for lunch on a Tuesday, the place wasn’t too busy and staff were friendly. There was a slightly longer than expected wait for food to arrive, but other than that would recommend

I’ve been with friends, I have ordered linguine, I did not quite like it because they have put too much tomato sauce which took the flavour of the dish, cheese wasn’t offered, for the price I guess they could have done more, the location is fabulous I must say, nice sight to the golf club was a plus. I may return, hopefully things are improved as I quite like the restaurant atmosphere.

Beautiful food but we ordered extra drinks and it took 3 attempts...also asked for no veg with my dinner to be told they come separate....when my dinner came there was carrots and cauliflower cheese underneath my meat ....Good job I don't have allergies

Baby shower visit. All laid out beautifully, afternoon tea great, plenty of tea readily topped up for us. Good selection of sandwiches and sides, cakes and scones.

Wedding anniversary and birthday celebrations 23 guests. The staff was awesome. They pulled out all the stops for us. Nothing was too difficult to do for us. Guest all said the food was amazing.

A number of us went to celebrate my moms birthday meal. The food was lovely and hot (I love my food hot) my prawn cocktail was lush and they didn't skimp on the prawns. The lemon drop cocktail is brilliant and tasty, having a cocktail where you can actually taste the alcohol is a winner! Lovely atmosphere and brilliant selection of music at the time I went.

I’ve reserved a table for my partner’s birthday a couple of weeks ago and overall had a positive experience. Although I have provided “special requests” when booking the table, these were not checked nor attended to when we came in. It wasn’t anything big so it didn’t bother us but worth bearing in mind if you’re planning a special celebration as it could be quite disappointing. The place has quite a cosy atmosphere. Staff were polite. The food was absolutely heavenly, honestly couldn’t fault a thing.

Lovely evening for our group of four Christmas Dinner. We arrived early but were shown straight to our table. Our meals were all pre booked so within 10 minutes of sitting down our starters were brought out. Which was Lovely. Two had vegetable soup, tasty. One had Patè, very good and one garlic prawn again very good. We had a bottle of wine between us, Pinot Grigio. Our main course soon followed three with turkey and one beef. We all thoroughly enjoyed our choices all plates cleared. We were rather full at this point and asked if our puddings could be held back a while which the staff were more than happy to do. We'd order two crème brûlèe, two choc cake. Those who chose the brûlèe wished they'd gone for cake but we all enjoyed the desserts and nothing was left. A lovely evening in a lovely spot. We will return and I've told my family about it too.

The food at the lewisham was lovely. The mains had very good portions however, the starters didn't. The food was brought out within a timely manner and the staff were friendly.

Food really poor quality and taste. We went to the same place last year and food was better. Really disappointed!

Went with partner and friends for a what was a supposed meal at this supposed nice restaurant. The meals were lovley and tasty but the main issue for us all was the portion sizes . For the price you have to pay and the meal size your given its a total rip off and we all said we wouldn't go back again.

What a breath of fresh air in West Bromwich, this pub is like a gold mine compared to the bog standard franchised pubs in the vicinity! Thankyou for coming into my life! 5* highly recommend for this place !

Lovely setting across from the golf course, food always good.

Food was bang average and unseasoned even salt and pepper did no justice for my meal alcoholic drinks were majority ice and cutlery had a strong taste of vinegar the manger is horrible to staff and swore a member in front of my table the restaurant also has strong smell of tobacco through out I was appalled by the end of my meal WILL NOT BE VISITING AGAIN !!!

Came here for lunch with my partner. It was a beautiful sunny day so the surroundings of the golf course looked very picturesque. The service was good, food was lovely I particularly enjoyed our starters from the lunch menu. The Tempura prawns were big and juicy and the beef salad was amazing. Different, as I'd never had the dry noodles in a salad before but I was pleasantly surprised! Flavours were great, I will definitely order that next time I visit the restaurant. Presentation of all three courses were lovely.

Aye here after playing golf, food was very tasty, had veg curry and Sticky toffee pudding. Both were excellent.

Been this place a few times now and monday 18th was a different experience , we booked table for 7 o'clock for 8 people which was fine, 3 of us was running late prior to m6 traffic but the rest of the 5 was there. we also got told if we pre order before 7 we get 15% off ? which we did, we also stated 3 of us was running late please can we hold fire but no they was all cooked at the same time.(we got told no the kitchen staff cant hold it) which didnt make sense, they was all finished by 8.30-9 which is a nice finish if you ask me. my food was microwaved fully! or under the hot-lights for some time, piping hot with skin on the rim of the gravy. but any way we tired not to let it spoil our night, the staff made us feel rushed, the place was empty aswell we was the only big table. i totally understand people have bad days and want to go home but when the bill came to us and it was 391 with no discount ? why make us pre order and get no discount, i would of enjoyed it more with no discount and order fresh food. ! im shocked and very disappointed, i hate writing bad comments but my birthday was ruined and please update you menu online its easily done as the pre order wasnt what we ordered.

This is a difficult review. Party of 7 ladies for a birthday tea. On arrival we were greeted and asked if we wanted tea or coffee as we were walking through the door! As we sat down we could see 3 of the 7 cups were badly cracked and stained. These were replaced. The food arrived at it looked lovely. It was tasty and fresh. Unfortunately, as I was eating my slice of sausage roll I found either a hair or fluff inside it. The slice was replaced with an apology by the manager. Unfortunately this spoilt the tea for me. I have subsequently contacted the venue. Our bill was £140.00 and I have been offered a £10.00 refund.

Went for my birthday celebrations with some friends. Loved the room, service and food.

The food was great,service was good and so polite well worth going back for another visit,cocktails were nice too.

A group of us went for the evening meal and chose different meals. The meals did all arrive together which was good. The food was of a good standard however 3 of us chose the Pork and Chicken wings combo which was served on a flat wooden chopping board we were not sure about our food being served on this health wise). We would have preferred on a plate The meal was served with a barbecue sauce which couldn’t be poured over the meal as it would run off the board. I did mention it to the sever and asked for my comments to be passed on to the management. Overall a lovely evening the setting and the service was good. Be careful where you park your car as it could be hit by a golf ball lol. 😋

I've been here a few times now. It's a lovely place with a great ambience, especially in the summer, you could easily forget you're in West Brom! Great service, and usually great food, but just found it lacking a little on my most recent visit.

It was a nice meal I can't say more than that. As it was so long since I'd been there I did expect the menu to have changed but it hasn't. As it works I don't expect it will change.

1st time visitor to the Lewisham, wasn't disappointed. Out for an evening catch up with a friend, the table allocated was very much in the middle of the room and requested if a possible change could be made, nothing other than we would have been raising our voices to hear each other speak. 5 minutes, and we were moved to by the window, which was much appreciated. The food was delicious, recommend the Lamb Kofta's on the starters. We ordered Sea Bream with Bombay Potatoes...amazing, Beef In Red Wine... stripe of beef, mashed potatoes, baby onions, mushrooms and a Yorkshire pudding.. delicious. Staff were so sweet, 2 young ladies who were very pleasant, couldn't do enough for us without being pushy and intrusive. A lovely evening had, will definitely be returning. Yes, it is a little more expensive than your usual basic menu, but you pay for what you get and it was worth every penny and lovely ambience. Well done The Lewisham will recommend to friends for sure

A group of 4 came to celebrate 2 birthdays. We were seated by the toilet which we didn't find acceptable. 3 of us ordered the cajun chicken which was too spicy and unacceptable. We then requested ice cream to cool our mouths down and go with our desserts and were charged £1 per scoop for an exceptionally small amount. I ordered a glass of wine which was over priced and £1 for a small squirt of soda water. For our desserts we were only given a spoon. It is usual to be given a fork aswell Very disappointed with poor service and over priced food.

Update, I've lowered my rating in respect of a recent wake of a family member that was held at the Lewisham, the charge was £18 per head and the food consisted of triangle sandwiches, mini burgers, taurine of chips mini quiches, and 2 sweets. In my opinion it was worth £9.99 per head, But this is not based on the normal menu of quality which is normally 5star.

Had a lovely meal with a group of friends. Chose off the lunch menu, Prawns & cajun chicken pasta. Both dishes were lovely. Service was quick & attentive

Booked a table for our wedding anniversary after looking at the website. Found the menu to be very basic for a restaurant, I have had more choice from a pub menu. My wife and I had the rump steak, medium rare, both were on the tough side, especially my wife's who had to leave half of it. It was cooked well though. We complained to the management and they reduced the price of my wife's meal by half and gave her a complimentary drink. Would not recommend this venue for a special occasion.

Brilliant afternoon tea for family birthdays and other celebrations

Went for afternoon tea. Everything was home cooked and delicious and we were able to take home all we didn't eat. Staff were so friendly and attentive.

No taste at all. Iceland bbq ribs Iceland wing s and farm food chips. Very disgusting and overpriced. The service was good but wouldn’t go here again.

Could not fault, great service food was fabulous, beautiful surroundings nd not overcrowded. Would def recommend and go back

A perfect little country restaurant right in West Bromwich. See it to believe. As always a fab time had. Food great and service 2nd to none.

Not up to the usual,standard. There was hardly any fish in a badly cooked batter. The chips were cold. The peas my husband ask for mushy peas. We had been forgotten and when we asked for the mushy peas we were told there were none. When the garden peas arrived they were cold. We did not complain at the time as the restaurant was full. We would have liked to have spoken to the Manager. It is a shame as we have enjoyed a quite a few lovely meals there.

It's the second time me and the hubby have been on a lunchtime. They do 1 course £14.95 2 for £18.95 and 3 which is £22.95. We had Thai beef salad to start which was really good. I had beef lasagne (the best I've eaten anywhere!) Hubby had beefburger which he also said the best he'd had. No room for pudding but last time I had the choc brownie which was lovely. The staff are very attentive and polite. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a nice view of the golf course. Would 100% recommend a visit.

Food was lovely, but a lot of the food came with mash and I prefer boiled new potatoes, so I was forced to pick steak with chips the only other option was ribs and chicken wings with chips. Steak was gorgeous though.

Never knew this was here so near to home. Was booked for my birthday treat. Small but lovely. Food was great portions and reasonably priced lunch for 3 courses. Will definitely come again when warmer.

What a fantastic time we have had today. 20 of us for 3 course meal and everything was fantastic. Didn't get the waitresses name, who was the main one who served us, but she deserved the generous tip on her own. Thanks to all staff for a great afternoon.

Nice waitress service. Lunch menue looked interesting, we had the fish and chips, choice of mushy or garden peas, we had garden. Try the steak next time.

🍴Mains Roast chicken and Lamb Shoulder All served with roasted potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding, mash potatoes, cauliflower cheese, spring greens, honey roasted carrots, and lashings of gravy. 🍴Dessert: Lemon tart (v) served with berries compote We had an off menu dessert due to them not having the chocolate brownie available but the cheesecake was lovely as a replacement ☺️ Our overall visit was lovely we were welcomed by Taylor’s the host! The food and service was quick but not rushed! The staff had time to talk to us about the venue and also the menu! Great evening with friends. Food Nd service here never disappoints. My friends came for the first time upon my recommendation and said they'd definitely return.

We where a group of 8 one of our group had Lamb and it was fatty ,and the reason the waiter was told by the chef it's the way it came off the joint,so when you get BS answers I think it's best to find elsewhere to dine when there 8 of you.

Food absolutely amazing. Thai beef salad starter was huge, so flavoursome. Fish and chips was filling. Batter so crispy, fish so flakey and light with Tartae sauce was fantastic combo. Treacle pudding was not what i expected. Portion size was a lot bigger than expected and its the best one I've ever had. if you've never been i recommend putting it on your list to visit soon

Took my mom to lunch. Nice little spot in West Bromwich, however, would not think that, lovely view of golf course. Food really good quality, well presented. There were 4 staff and have to say my only gripe, was that had to keep asking, i.e for menus, to order, for drinks, to order coffees - not very attentive. Wiill visit again and would recommend.

Amazing food and amazing value for money. Our first visit here and we will be returning. The restaurant is small but well laid out and decorated to a high standard. The food was incredible and every dish was amazing. Highly recommend!

Birthday meal that was totally wrecked a few hours after eating here. As the one person who's birthday it was had bad stomach after eating here!!!!!!!🤔🤮🤢 Obviously food poisoning from the food🤢 The only food that was 🤮was the food from here. So paid £90+ for one person to become ill and food to go down the pan 🚽 Literally !!! So totally spoilt the night . Not very Happy Also my own meal was undercooked 🤔 Food here is normally high standard But u've let yourself down now . Will probably not come again.

Afternoon tea! A treat for a birthday. We were well fed. Everything was freshly made, hence the 48hrs notice. The food coming from the kitchen looked delightful, so I have to revisit. Fully wheelchair accessible. Clean and uncluttered. Amiable staff. Reasonably priced

Very disappointed in my experience tonight at the Lewisham usually the food is great I am a frequent visitor....however, tonight it was awful pasta was over cooked and slopy meal lacked any Seasoning .....unsure what has happened to the kitchen but I have 2 dates booked for lunch in the next month im not looking forward to it at all sorry very disappointed customer 😔

Had bbq chicken wings off the starters…they were perfect. Chicken alfredo off the mains, cant fault this place. 10/10.

Celebrated my sister's 60th surprise birthday with around 20 members of her family. Staff were brilliant & managed to feed us all, without getting any orders wrong, which was amazing considering the amount of people they were serving😊 Everyone & especially my sister, really enjoyed themselves. The only thing that bothered me was the laptop and printer that was being used in the dining area, at least where no one was eating.

Visited for the first time for our work Christmas Party . Although in quite an unusual location, when we arrived I immediately noticed the beautiful surroundings. Staff greeted us pleasantly soon after we arrived. I had my favous mojito cocktail which was bought to my table from the bar - strong and delicious! I had prawns for my starter and all I can say is O - M - G!!! Without a doubt it was one of the nicest, freshest prawn starters that I have ever tried. 9/10. For mains, I had the pasta which I must say was excellent value for money! I would give that dish a 7/10. I went for the chocolate brownie for my dessert and I have to say I did not enjoy this. Found it to be very dry and more biscuit like .... The overall experience was really nice and its a very picturesque place . The staff are friendly. Attentive and very professional!

Starter was yummy. Main dish was poor. Desert was ok. Servings vary in size massively and veg was hard and undercooked and portions to share were very small. Overall not impressed and would not recommend.
