First time here and potentially the best chippy I've ever been too Battered chips were amazing, cod cooked to order and melted in the mouth with a light batter. Even the battered sausage quality was different to others I've tried. Curry sauce, again the best I've probably eaten. To top it off the service from everyone in there was superb. A great set up in there. My only set back would be the chips and sausage could have been warmer, but the quality and flavour of the food over shadowed that. Will be back.

Not been to this shop for over 20year, So we gave it a try, wish I hadn't bothered, Cold chip & I mean cold chips, kebab didn't taste like kebab meat, worst kebab my husband has ever tried, why?... I don't know, I was really hoping our experience was going to be a good one, got order home, no curry & no peas, as ordered & paid for... I called the shop, young girl. Said she'd forgot to put them in, asked me to go back to collect them... What I should have asked, is she going to reimburse me for my time & petrol, what a joke, does she think I have time to run after her mistakes, shop not busy at the time, 4 customers, including ourselves... Safe to say, I won't be returning....

Friendly place, great staff and service, food fresh and delicious, haven't got a bad word to say about this place at all!!!

Wife went for my tea 2x sausage chips and large gravy chips was disgusting reheated from lunch time . Dehydrated chips not happy. Come on Joe.....

. Sometimes can get really busy wich may cause a bit of a wait but the food is excellent 👌 so I don't mind the wait and reasonable priced.

Can usually rely on this chippy for quality and freshness with friendly staff. However, shop reopened after a couple of weeks off. Not as many customers as usual but there was still quite a long wait this Friday evening. Was really looking forward to chunky soft flakes of fish but all the Mini Fish we had were way overcooked and so very dry inside we couldn't even chew it. Chips were undercooked and very soggy as if oil was not set to correct temperature. Very disappointing indeed.

First time ordering from this Chippy. Had large cod and battered chips with mushy peas. This is one of the best fish and chip meal I've ever had. They do the best battered chips.

Visited on Tuesday 10th aug after reading many reviews , as I entered the chippy I made a point of cheerfully saying "I've heard good things about you on TripAdvisor",NO RESPONSE, Joe the owner looked at me like i was some sort of alien and he never spoke to me at all, none of the other staff made any conversation with me or thanked me for coming to try their food,as for the food, the chips were average, cod was tasteless and the batter was soggy on the inside, the mushy peas were no better, and for over £11 a massive waste of money, also, as a first time customer I expected better, so I'm highly disappointed, and I say "be careful of the hype", I'll be going back to bobbo's in blackheath from now on, miles better service and food in my opinion

Never had a unacceptable meal and the portions of a good size. You will never be left hungry. Excellent service and excellent produce. Clean bright and very friendly service.

Used to be the best chippy in the area.. until tonight the chips are gorgeous but the fish I’ve received tonight was disgustingly stale not sure how many nights that’s been sitting there. Really shocked and annoyed as it’s not a cheap chip shop which I never used to mind as it always was worth it but after today I won’t be going back for nothing apart from chips. Unless you just want chips I’d avoid this chippy🙁

Chips not quite has nice has they used to be but still better than most and the mini fish are a good size.

Good overall place been using it for a while however recently price hike, smaller portions and the kebab doesn't taste as it used to.

Stopped going here as queues are too long, portion sizes too small and its too expensive. I only order fish n chips from chip shops so unless it's spectacular, I'm not waiting 20 minutes in a queue for a tiny portion. The food is OK but nothing special.

I came in at 9:30, 30minutes before they closed and asked for battered chips. I was so looking forward to them on the way there. One of the owners said they have no battered chips left. I was heartbroken 😂 haha but then she went out of her way to put some batter on and sort the chips for me, in the meantime have a nice chat with me. Very welcoming, friendly and my second time there. Will defo be returning. The chips are banging!! 👍🏼

Fish batter was a bit greasy and the chips were lukewarm when we got them home , only a 2 minute drive....

I’ve been visiting this place far to many times for my waist’s sake but it’s quite addictive. The best fish and chips shop in town by far! I personally enjoy the chicken and chips tray and it’s delicious every single time. Portions are generous and the quality is always outstanding. Fantastic customer service and friendly staff. This place is good quality and good priced food. Unfortunately, health and safety has let them down recently, the sign on the shop door states that only 2 people are allowed at any one time due to covid restrictions. However, on several occasions I have seen up to 5 people at any one time inside the chip shop, and not all of them are wearing masks. I understand that certain people are exempt from masks but cannot be the case on a consistent basis, and due to these breaches of restrictions in a small space, I will look to go elsewhere for my chippy chips.

Tried some fish and chips from there the other night they were nasty they were very dry normally they are ok so I don't know what happened.

Greasy and cold chips, greasy chicken bits. Kebab, chips@salad made everything messy and soggy. Not good.

Went here after all the hyped up reviews and was not impressed. Had 2 steak burgers fish and a bag of chips, the burgers were rank so were the chips, I think the fish was ok...everything apart from the fish went in the bin wasted my money going here when Steve's is around the corner

Been going here for nearly 2 years at least twice a week. Never had a problem with service or food quality. Very warm and welcoming people. Always happy to help and have a conversation. Would deffo recommend to anyone who loves a local chippy.

I have been using this chippy for the last 28 years joe & his wife are wonderful couple who run this business the food is freshly prepared for you Fish&chips, are excellent kebabs are spot on not kept in bainbire pot they are fresh cut for you worth waiting for when they are busy Especially on a Friday when it’s the chippy day my family will not go anywhere else. The Tasty Place is worth visiting I come from Four Oakes 10 miles away I did used to live in Langley, I have tried others but not the same for me and my family. 10/10 💯 sport on you will not be disappointed. Worth the visit and you will be back again and again.
