Lovely cafe overlooking the Bristol Channel near Cliifton Pier. Excellent service. It was very busy and we were advised there could be a delay in receiving our order, which was fine as the food was worth waiting, good quality and generous helpings.Definitely happy to pay the optional 10% service charge, as a quality establishment and very friendly and polite staff!

This was a lovely place to be, but unfortunately the way the room was set up meant it was impossible to hear anyone other than my immediate neighbour, which was a shame as we'd booked it for a group! It was the summer holidays though, and perhaps during normal times it wouldn't be as busy - we reserved the table and all the tables around us were reserved as well, so it's very popular! Good selection and variety of vegetarian dishes although not vegan sadly. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating (they managed to communicate to the kitchen that we ordered a plain cheese sandwich without butter for a young relation and they didn't bat an eyelid!) Quiche of the day and leek fritters were the agreed favourites. They also had a varied drinks menu, including lots of soft drinks and herbal teas. Overall, a lovely café, but I wouldn't go back during the school holidays!

This place is OK and seems to be always busy it was bustling and we managed to get a table even though we didn't book. It is very expensive for a Seaview breakfast. Set me back a whopping £64 for 2 full English and 2 posh eggs on toast plus a cup of tea, mocha, hot chocolate and apple juice. Next time I'll find a Hungary horse or greggs and save the pennies!

What an amazing find - not pretentious yet absolutely superb. Definitely 5🌟 for all aspects - location, dining outside looking onto Bristol channel, delicious meals, great coffee, very friendly service. We had late lunch/early dinner here one day and were so impressed that we came for brunch the following day. 😊 Black linguine with crab, meatballs and then full veggie breakfast were delightful.

Waited 30 minutes, didn't get served even after going in to ask 2 of the staff.

All four lunch dishes and two desserts were delicious. Nice bright atmosphere inside and friendly service. It was the perfect stop during our day in Clevedon.

Difficult to hear - acoustics not good

We dined there to celebrate the summer solstice . Unfortunately the weather wasn't good but the atmosphere inside the The Beach cafe made up for the weather.

Excellent food from a sophisticated menu.

Nice coffee and cake, but didn't appreciate the £2.50 service charge added to our bill without our knowledge. We knew nothing about it until we checked the receipt we were given after we had paid and left. Hence, we will not be returning. A real shame, as we are Clevedonians!

Great little spot by the seafront and Pier. Lovely service, great food. Perfect for a bite at lunchtime, especially on the spacious terrace if the sun is shining.

Lovely place, good location but disappointing breakfast. An eggy thick bread soaked in syrup was not I expected. Perhaps if you are to order this, ask for the syrup on the side and a crispy bacon( not poached).

Thank you for a lovely lunch this week. Both my elderly Mum (96) and Aunt (91) really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the service was first class. Not being local, I’d phoned in advance to check on access etc and replies were friendly, helpful and honest. On arrival, our party were made welcome, assistance was offered, care was taken and we had a very happy lunch in the garden. Thoroughly recommend!

Great place on the sea front, friendly staff. We had a lovely sunday roast with all the trimmings, was really tasty and worth the price. It was a bit of a wait 45mins but the food was good quality so it wasn't a problem. Would return.

Revisted after a year and everything still great. Except the 10% service charge that added without being asked. Only saw when home as it was quite a lengthy bill. Checked some other posts and it was mentioned 2 weeks ago as well. Do the owners read this? Want to make it clearer? Sorry I don't do service charges, its someone doing their job. Do Nurses/Teachers etc get tips ? Great place to grab something whilst looking over to Wales. Great choice of food. Plenty of seating in or out

Five the Beach is one of the best cafe's me and my girlfriend have been to. We have always had an amazing experience with the food, and the service is always second to none. If you're fancying a place where the food is fabulous, the sandwiches are superb, and the cakes are heavenly, you will not be choosing wrong.

Disappointed to be charged £8 for a tuna, Swiss cheese and red onion jam baguette. There was more mayo/sauce than tuna, to the extent that I had to hold it steady or the filling was sliding off, very runny. I feel ripped off for being charged £8 for a slimey mess.

Excellent service and lovely location. We go here a lot for drinks and food and it is always 5 star food etc. Only slight issue is it gets very cold and blustery if sat near the door. We were having lunch today and every few minutes people coming in we had icy blasts of wind up our backs! Won't stop us going back as we love it, next time however we will reserve a table away from the door!

Always lovely drinks and cakes, but the roast dinner is absolutely delicious. Great service and staff.

Large portions for the main meal and very good service, however we were charged a service charge of 10% at the end, and had not seen any notices on the menu indicating this. The pudding of apple and berry crumble, had no berries and was just a pile of crumble mix chucked on top of tinned apple pie filling

This place was absolutely amazing. Really friendly staff and fantastic food. We turned up for something to eat with the pet dog. Had to sit outside with the dog but luckily enough the weather was nice to do so. Great menu with lots of choice. Would definitely recommend it

Pleasant surprise as dropped into this cafe on the off chance whilst visiting Clevedon. Despite it being very busy and not pre-booking the staff managed to fit us in and were very welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast was one of the nicest I have ever had (the lovely thick tiger toast and butter was the best). Went with my two sisters and we all had different breakfasts (full veggie and stack) and all of us loved the quality of the food and the presentation. Highly recommend and can't wait to visit again soon. Well done to the team!

This was a lovely place for our breakfast after a long car journey. Clean in the cafe and friendly staff. Great service and all good cooked freshly for us. Gluten free too. Highly recommend.

Lovely place to sit outside and just watch the view towards the sea. The staff were also very friendly. I didn't have any food, but the coffee was nice

This place does excellent Sunday lunch, including a decent veggie option. Probably the nicest Sunday lunch I've had for a long time and decently priced too.

Love this place!!! Photo isn't great but the coffee was so tasty, I just couldn't wait. The pain au choc 10/10. They even served it warm which I loved The service was so good. We waited a little for coffees but it was busy so expected. They informed us of the wait and were so accommodating to us. I didn't catch the waitresses name but she was so lovely. Lovely cafe on the sea front. A couple of vegan options available or can be made vegan on request. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Had the caramelised hispi cabbage, beets and substitution the feta for hummus, very delicious. Recommend when in Clevedon

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch! Big portion sizes (photo is a child's portion!), great value for money. Stopped here with a friend and her baby after a walk on the seafront and the team squeezed us in despite being busy. Staff were super attentive and friendly. Highly recommend 5 the beach for a nice spot to eat!

This was hands down the best roast I’ve ever had…I didn’t want it to end! Beautiful presented and everything tasted so delicious 😊 Wish I’d taken a picture but was too keen to get started! Thank you so much ☺️

We arrived and it was extremely busy however as we had pre booked we were showed to our seats. We were sat by the window although we were squished in we weren’t that bothered. Staff were lovely and very attentive. The service was very quick and food came out fast. I had cauliflower cheese and bacon which was on the specials and it was delicious and a great portion size. Although prices were on the higher side it was worth it. It was very busy so I would recommend booking if you want to be sure to get a table. I would recommend and would come again.

A place that offers a wonderful atmosphere in a privileged location with exquisite attention and refined atmosphere, there are blankets available to enjoy a wonderful cappuccino at an exceptional price, since the view and the place are a gift for the senses.

Too expensive for me though the cakes are fantastic.Staff are lovely and helpful.I only went because my companion paid!

Busy new years day. Fantastic service from the staff. Coffee and food came out quickly. The gluten free full English was to die for! The nicest gluten free bread I've had in a long time!

Although they forgot some of our order, the rest was excellent. And staff were very friendly.

Were passion for quality food and service meet, this is a real gem of a place to come for breakfast lunch or dinner, but remember one thing you need to book because the secret is out its very popular and there is many reasons why. The food is good and fresh.We had the sea bass - was very tasty. The flat white was nice too. The outdoor area is funky, good to relax in the sun. They have left out suncream for those of whom the sun doesn't like - nice touch that my shoulders appreciated. Service was good enough.

We enjoyed high-quality Italian food in the restaurant. The service is slow due to the crowd, but the staff are friendly and patient. The scrambling from the table next to us, when we asked for a shed added a little uncomfortable feeling. I believe it would be helpful for the staff to give them a bit of a reminder. We would definitely cycle there for food again.

Perfection on a plate, as always! Food and staff are delightful. If you want to sit inside, especially at the weekend then book a table. We usually sit outside whatever the weather, (even been know in the rain) with our ever hopeful cocker spaniel. Bev, Kev and Stella

Top quality food served by people who obviously care about what they do. Can get very busy, so book or be prepared for disappointment. Usually space outside, and blankets can be offered, but if there is an onshore breeze then it can be chilly! Dogs only permitted outside, but fair enough as it is cramped inside when busy.

More than a cafe, surely! Visited today for the second time - rump steak as good as it gets, great service and friendly staff. Try it!

I always love this friendly place in a stunning location with a varied and innovative menu that changes frequently. Plenty of fish and vegetarian options and wonderful fresh salads.

Always busy which is a good sign :) nice breakfast but very long wait however the restaurant was packed so it was expected. They also do lovely baguettes that you can take away as well.

Great place to take our visitors as we're guaranteed to receive a friendly welcome. Place is always buzzing. Great to sit, have a cuppa ,a cake and catch up. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can't beat coming to this place. As a local born resident I've tried all the cafes in town. This is my number one.

Five The Beach is a great cafe for a great value lunch. Worth booking. I have eaten here numerous times and never been disappointed. Always something interesting on the blackboard with a good choice on the main menu. Great ambience with seating indoors and outdoors. Staff have always been lovely. Highly recommended.

Wow I haven't tasted food so good in a long time. I had the spinach and ricotta malfatti in tomato sauce. My only complaint is I live to far away to visit more often. The staff were friendly and welcoming. AMAZING.

Lovely food and location, spoilt by the fact that when I asked for my bill I was told how much it was and paid. It was only when I was given the receipt that I noticed I had been charged £1.50 service charge. Although the service was okay I would not have paid it as I was on my own! Ask for your bill before you pay as no one asks you if you are happy to pay the service charge!!

Second time we've made a breakfast stop here on the way from Bucks to Cornwall. So much nicer than the motorway, well worth a 10-min detour! Advisable to book as they were filling up by the time we left. Clevedon itself is a lovely seaside spot perfect for a quick stroll and browse of pretty independent shops. Five the Beach is one of several cafes on the beach front boasting a terrace with picnic benches and a welcoming shabby-chic interior. Lovely big bowl of porridge with cream and honey (too big to finish for me) and husband enjoyed egg and bacon buttie. Very good coffee too. Lunch menu looked great.

A good selection of reasonably priced foods

Small place, but so many people inside and outside. Watresses were really busy, running around like crazy, but still available to help on every request. Food was amazing, coffee was awesome, great quality. That's the positives. Negatives: as amazing as the breakfast was, waiting for over an hour for food was too much, anyone would get impatient. I appreciate it was super busy, but still. I don't appreciate restaurants that add gratuity payments automatically to the final bill, this should be a customer's choice as a reckognition of service. The waitress was amazing and I wanted to give her a tip which was actually higher that the one they forced me to pay. If the service was inadequate but I would still have to pay 10% on top, just because, I'd be really aggravated. Wasn't the case, again, the service was really good, but it could be.

Stumbled upon this place looking for somewhere for lunch. Really helpful staff who asked another recently arrived table if they would be able to move so they could accommodate our family of four which was much appreciated. Food and coffee were good and served quickly with a smile. What’s not to like?

Stunning breakfast, highly recommend the beach stack (bacon, egg, guac, cheese and a hash brown). Delicious coffee. Lovely service and staff. Recommend booking for inside, lovely sun trap outside. Would highly recommend and would return.

Great spot with delicious food and coffee

Delicious breakfast to start off the day the best way possible. The staff is as helpful as could be and they really know how to make you feel at home. We had one of the most savoury bagels with salmon and scrambled eggs I've ever tasted and a veggie English breakfast to die for. As you may think, I highly recommend this cosy place next to iconic Clevedon Pier.

Five of us booked here for lunch on Friday. Very friendly and engaging staff. Great and varied menu. Lovely outlook. It was pretty noisy when we arrived because it was very busy. We were glad we booked. How can you beat it? For the five of us £100 including drinks. Great value. We will be back.

Don’t be misled! Despite what it says: ‘Dog-Friendly’ I found otherwise.. unless that is you don’t mind your dog being outside in the cold and rain! However, the food is good, not overpriced and delivered with good service - as it should be, for then your dog isn’t so long outside! Take the sign ‘Dog-Friendly’ off!

Not a great experience this afternoon. Very slow service, fries were very overcooked, beefburger was so solid it was like a lump of inedible wood, and to top it off an automatic 10% service charge added! So sadly we will not be returning.

Booked here for lunch for a group of 6....and just as well, it was very busy. All the food ordered was lovely. 3 of us had the vegetarian Portobello Mushrooms, even though we are not vegetarians, yummy! Not so keen on the Black Forest Trifle.... Didn't feel any time pressure. Friendly, efficient staff. Lovely sea views.
