I had to organise a group celebration at short notice for my daughter’s 40th . Amanda at Audley couldn’t have been more helpful and reassuring. We had a delicious afternoon tea, an absolute treat. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Surroundings are very beautiful too, especially the art collection; very interesting. Highly recommended.

Service - very good, pleasant helpful staff. Decor - clean, bright, pleasing, modern. Menu - simple, interesting, limited but adequate (special evening "Your Home Our Kitchen". Food - very good, presentaion excellent. Value for money - good.

Delicious food. quality ingredients, well cooked and presented. Lovely decor. Good Sunday lunch deal, three courses for £29, and delicious too. The restaurant is part of a retirement village, albeit a very upmarket one, but parking situation slightly confusing, so just be aware before you go!

Absolutely fantastic, Afternoon tea. From the booking so easy to book online, special thanks to Catherine who answered all my question. I booked a room and was able to decorate in the morning ready for the afternoon. Many thanks would recommend and will be going again.

We have just had a fantastic celebration lunch here for my dad’s 80th birthday. We were given the private dining room, the food was top notch and the speed of service relaxed to allow us to digest our food between courses. We were also able to sit outside in the sunshine afterwards enjoying our teas and coffees. Thank you very much indeed.

Lovely Afternoon Tea for a birthday treat, beautiful surroundings, staff extremely helpful and attentive, nothing too much trouble, beautifully presented, good combination of sandwiches, scones and cakes…my mum is in a wheelchair, the access here was brilliant, we were told we could park by the front door, the access was all on one level and plenty of room, which is really important …so often we go to similar venues and feel like a nuisance when trying to negotiate our way between tables etc with a wheelchair, this definitely not the case here ….highly recommend this venue

An excellent meal at a charity dinner for the children’s hospice, the food was hot, tasty and served on piping hot plates. The service was excellent and well timed,It was a fitting accompaniment to a very worthy evening enjoyed by all.

My brother and I reserved Symonds at Redwood for a Wake following our elderly Mother’s Funeral. Symonds provided afternoon tea for fifty family and friends, which was excellent. The staff were both courteous and helpful. Many of our guests commented on the quality of the venue and how they enjoyed the food provided. We thank everyone involved.

Afternoon tea here yesterday! Delicious! Also had dinner recently too. The restaurant is of a high quality with extremely polite & helpful staff. The food and presentation is 5 star. On par with any restaurant in Clifton. Here though it is personal and a quiet dining atmosphere. My only ask would be be for some lovely low key piped music in the restaurant to add to the ambiance. Perhaps classical or piano. Played low but it would definitely add to the dining experience.

Excellent meal of carrot & Coriander soup, poached haddock with a lobster sauce. Just needed an extra vegetable ( carrots) to be perfect.

Great roast lunch. Something for everyone in a very fussy family. Would thoroughly recommend for a lovely meal in beautiful surroundings.

Went to Symonds for Sunday lunch with family. Food and service were excellent. Lovely place and surroundings. Will definitely return.

Came here for afternoon tea. No one was at reception, had to go into what looked like a meeting room but was a party of about 10 being catered for. Was politely sat down after I’d informed them that we’d made a reservation. Wasn’t presented with menu or did they ask if we needed anything except for asking where we’d like to sit. They informed us about what was included as part of the afternoon tea set. Very generous with tea and coffee and was of good quality. The afternoon tea set however was underwhelming. The quality of the cakes and sandwiches was just average but the scone was much better. Was charged £49.90. Make if that what you will. It was a nice place for a retired development for well do retired folks with the restaurant bolted on. All in all, service although very polite, wasn’t thorough and the food quality was very average relative to what they charged. Was ok but unfortunately wouldn’t go again.

On 1 April 2023, my parents celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary with a luncheon for about 50 family and friends. The venue is a delightful art-deco style, restaurant room and bar. The staff were extremely helpful throughout the the planning process and were exemplary on the day. The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff were efficient and very helpful. We cannot recommend the venue and team enough for this type of function.

Went here to celebrate my grandaughter 21st. The table was set out beautifully. We added extra balloons. Cake confetti etc. I was told I'd recieve by e mail a afternoon tea menu. Which wasn't sent. I then rang to check booking. And explain we had a lactose and a diabetic dining with us. They accommodated it very well. I asked to have sandwiches to be on brown bread with .smoked salmon. Ham and tomato. And cheese. And would like to pay for some sausage rolls and crisps for the eight people. eating . This partly wasn't taken into account. The diabetic has sausage roll and scotch egg. And the rest had 3 small slice of sausage rolls and 1 miniature pork pie cut into 4.for all the 8.!!!. The cake were dry . Asked for plain and fruit scones and had 1 plain the rest fruit. So they were left and cakes were left. Obviously no one listened to my requirements. A bit disappointing. Staff friendly. Nice clean and tidy environment

The restaurant is lovely. Beautifully and stylishly decorated. Booked a table for a friend's babyshower, was given a private dining room (was offered this without even having to request it). The staff were warm and friendly, the cream tea was great. I would definitely recommend this venue for a group occasion. Everyone loved it and was really impressed. Prices very reasonable too.

My first afternoon tea and what a nice choice for this first time: everything is really nice here, starting from the surroundings, very friendly stuff and then the atmosphere in the room. 4 stars instead of 5 is for the sandwiches: I believe thery were missing a bit of a flavor, especially cucumber and eggs’ ones. Dear Symonds Restaurant, I have been recommended to try out Symonds at Redwood for a while now as I have friends that visit fairly often and I was not disappointed. We attended at dining experience with my parents which was great and it had a lovely calming atmosphere with great service. The food was delicious, well presented and cooked to perfection.
