The cafe was open late for the carnival night. My band 'Guillotine Dream' were due to play a gig at The Electric Banana and after soundcheck and a couple of pints in The Duke of Oxford we stumbled upon this cafe. Although two of our members live in Weston and I lived there for 20 years it was our first time in this cafe. Our local friend who was with us had also never been in there. We were greeted very warmly by the staff (fellow midlanders btw!) and were served very reasonably priced and very tasty food. We didn't have to wait long. My friends had beef stew and I had all day veggie breakfast which came with a coffee and toast and was delicious and filling. They said the stew was lovely too. I would recommend this cafe wholeheartedly! Thanks to the staff! Ian.

At first sight you may thing this is a greesy spoon with outdated suroundings BUT don't be fooled we ordered the breakfast which was amazing and tasted absolutely lovely and being served large mugs of coffee The lady owner and lady chef were very welcoming and very nice people and very helpful It's a proper old school cafe and we enjoyed our visit Well worth a visit you won't be disappointed

First time at this cafe, and coming back tomorrow for another lunch, very 1980s feel inside, the food was exceptional and the staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, couldn't believe how little it cost for our two freshly cooked lunches Inc drinks, if you are in Weston and want a good homely meal this is the place to go.

After walking past this place a few times, I never really took in and noticed that this place was a cafe. Oh boy, I’m glad I eventually did. I was looking for your typical ‘greasy spoon’ cafe, hopefully get a bacon roll and a coffee on my break. I walked in, and it’s clear, this place hasn’t had a renovation since it was opened. I could just imagine being in 1990 sat in my booth with a coffee, cigarette smoke filling the place. Which, is a comfort and a childhood memory. The carpet could definitely tell some stories, and the seats were surprisingly comfy for their age. The 1980’s yellow lamps and paint just look so at home in this place. Instantly I was welcomed in by a very lovely older lady, who was folding napkins. Clearly the matriarch of this cafe. I got my menu and found the prices were incredibly reasonably. I went for the big breakfast, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 egg, hash brown, beans, tomatoes, toast and a BIG mug of coffee, £6.50. A little disappointed I couldn’t add mushrooms and black pudding, because I couldn’t see them on the menu however, a regular came in and just told them what he wanted. I get the feeling I probably could have asked for extras but it’s my fault for not mentioning. I get the feeling nothing is too much with them. After a short while, food came out, piping hot, fresh, eggs cooked perfectly, popped them open and the yolk just ran out. Young kid was serving, he was about 17, and spending his weekend in the cafe, he was talking to the matriarch and the cook, calling them mum and Nan so I felt even better knowing this was a family business and this kid had probably grown up doing this on Saturdays and is still there helping out. Fair play to you lad! There’s a newish cafe open opposite where the emphasis is on air fried food, which yeah.. great, but that isn’t a breakfast. And it’s expensive. If you find yourself torn which one to go to, eat at the Golden Fleece. Honestly, one the best cafes I’ve been to in a while. Don’t be put off by the outside! And bring cash, along with the 1990’s inside, they don’t have a card machine. 👍🏻

Yet another AMAZING brunch/breakfast! This really is the perfect place to go!! Can't imagine where some of the low score feedbacks come from?? Or why? I've been in the hospitality business over 30 years, and what is offered here, is as good as it gets! Great service, great value, and super quality... can not fault it!!! Thank you for the service You provide. And your plants are also super quality, and great value. See you next month... :))

Overpriced and food not fresh. I had the falafel, guac, sweetcorn relish baguette. The baguette was tough and tasted shop bought. Falafels were cold, flavourless, dense and also didn't seem freshly made. Disappointing considering the crazy prices
