Went in around 2pm, fast serving, (amazing chef), and good atmosphere. 100% coming again

Down to earth pub full of character. Refreshing to visit a pub that has not been modernised and furbished the same as most others.

The Park Inn is under new ownership and I wanted to try it. The interior has nhad a face lift and it looks nice. The staff were very welcoming and that was a huge plus. Food preparation took time but I think this was down to it being freshly prepared. This is good. The Mushroom Soup was delicious. I had Hunter's Chicken and it was nice and plentiful. The one negative is that the chicken didn't taste to be of the highest quality and it appeared to have been pumped with water. I will give this place another try before I form a final opinion

Great food had fish and chips massive fish big chunky chips with mushy peas really enjoyed will call again

This was the worst food I've had in a long time. I had garlic mushrooms, these were slimy and soggy. My son had the burger which was tasteless, and got about 10 frozen chips (which were uncooked in the middle) I got the club sandwich, the chicken had no taste (it was suppose to be spicey) the salad was old and wrinkly. Not once were we asked if our food was okay or if we needed anything?! Very poor food, and even worse customer service. Don't waste your money going here.

Looking at all the previous posts was excited to try the menu. Been befor when Phill had it. The glowing reports was true and justifide But alas not the case now. The meals were disgusting. Limited menu. No burgers or fish left. So settled for cheese and onion pie chips veg... Cheese and onion served in a dish with a very flat and undercooked pugf pastry top. Not a pie..not edible.

We called in today hoping the food looked liked the pictures on the website thinking a newly refurbished pub with a decent menu would be worth checking out....we found it utterly disgusting...dry tough pale looking chicken accompanied by tasteless limp overcooked vegetables...£27 down the drain for the worst "Sunday dinner" I've had in my life...utter disgrace tbh...I rarely if ever leave reviews but this was as bad as it gets...left majority of it and left in disgust...souldve refused to pay...

Nice to have the pub back up and running. Had a great St Patrick's night thanks to a great atmosphere and good entertainment. The new menu sounds good as well, so looking forward to trying it out.

We booked a table for the Christmas menu at the park for our works do, the food was excellent, huge portions & well worth the price! The staff were extremely welcoming, the service was great & overall couldn’t have asked for a better night - thank you again!

Lovely people and lovely food definitely recommended

When we arrived it was cold inside, the food we ordered fish and chip and smothered chicken, the potions were huge, very delighted, but sadly the taste was not great and very greasy/oily, it was a real shame because it looked good. Overall cold inside. Too greasy.Not that tasty. But the potions were good The place itself does need some TLC.

Lovely new landlady and landlord. Decent prices and good food. Will be back.

My sons took me here for my birthday what a disappointment it was like a frozen meal from asda it was the smash potatoes meat frozen that u get in packets for a couple of pounds at asda. 1 small frozen potato, 1 small florets of cauliflower that I couldn't even chop with my knife nevermind chew. I'm just hoping other people won't feel the same disappointment we did, we read previous reviews and they were good, so we think someone may have just taken over. They wont last long if this is the fayre that is served up, masquerading as a Sunday roast. I hope the new people take note, as they seem to be decent enough people. But you just cant dish that out and charge £9.95, and expect people to be happy. It has totally ruined my day, it was that bad. Not one bit was HOMECOOKED.

Found a hair in my food never eating here again

I Hate being negative, but it's probably the worst meal I've had ANYWHERE. The people running it seem decent and are just trying to earn a living in these tough times. But my sunday roast consisted of packet mash(smash or similar), one small frozen roast potatoe.small spring of rock hard cauliflower. Some frozen peas and carrots, frozen runner beans, 2 slices of frozen packet beef. Nothing was homecooked. All in frozen packets from aldi or whatever fo±r about £2. And the charge was £9.95!!!!!!

After several recent managers and poor verbal reviews, The Park Inn appears to have finally found it's feet. Visited today for food, the menu, I have to say is very limited and could benefit from further options. My friends and myself all settled to have fish and chips. A popular choice, which is so easy to get wrong! However, The Park Inn absolutely nailed it. At £11.99, it had to be of value to that price and it didn't disappoint. A very good sized fish, in a light, crispy batter, with skin on chunky chips and plenty of them. Served with peas and tartare sauce. It was served exactly how should, with no pretentious baskets for the chips, or unnessesary geometric cuts. Hands down the best fish and chips we'd all had in a very long time. If the rest of the menu is to this quality, quantity and value, I don't see how they can go far wrong. Well done!

I know TripAdvisor really is about the food but this pub is that scruffy/dirty it really does put you off eating! The outside hasn't been painted in 10 years & the inside is worse. You stick to the worn down carpet, its dirty everywhere so its hardly surprising we were constantly fending off flies. My stomach turns thinking about the kitchen being the same ie fly ridden & dirty We started in the beer garden, it was obvious the tables hadn't been cleaned in days (dried bird poo on them) & the weeds literally were 2ft high! The starters were poor (chicken strips sitting in lots of oil) but the mains were actually OK but by this stage we really just wanted to leave, to get away from the flies if nothing else About the only positive thing I can say is that the food is cheap, but again being completely honest, if I was offered a free meal there I wouldn't go back!

New owners, new menu, absolutely fantastic! The new owners are a lovely, friendly, welcoming couple and the food was delicious. Home made, freshly cooked and reasonably priced, I would recommend The Park to anyone.

To much fat and gristle on the Steak sizzler. The dog loved when we got home.

Just had a very tasty Sunday lunch at The Park . Roast Beef Yorkshire Pudding 4 veg and Roast & Creamy Mash . Very enjoyable would recommend. If I had to Criticise they could do with more selection of wine . But would definitely eat here again .

Called in and had lunch with my son. Staff friendly and food excellent. I had the Cumberland sausage and my son had lamb chops. No complaints and would definitely . return

Had an ok visit here but staff were rude. Bar and kitchen staff more interested in talking to one another than serving customers and when they did get round to us they just weren’t very pleasant.

Food was amazing,so we're portion sizes, came out absolutely stuffed after Sunday roast lamb dinner and for the price was well worth every penny.Definately our new go to place.

Ignored for much of our Sunday lunch. The mains were actually quite good: plate pies, lasagne and steak sizzler. However, once we'd eaten them we were completely ignored for 40 mins with the plates still on the table. The sullen faced waitress walked past us several times glancing at our table but making no attempt to clear it. Eventually she cleared half of it then disappeared again. I had to ask for it to be cleared in the end. We asked for a dessert menu and were directed to a blackboard on a table and told to order at the bar. Desserts were shop bought possibly Aunt Bessie's and cheap custard. As for the coffee, not filter, weak, tasteless and in mugs. Also we were asked how many sugars we wanted, I think they intended to put them in for us before we'd even seen the size of the cups.

Steak cold tough and rubbery peas cold chips really good bombarded with flies. noisy what appeared to be family children. Not the best experience sorry. Managed to eat the steak but unable to enjoy it.

No light bites on the menu , most meals came with chips that I am not a fan of , just keep it simple, a sandwich with crisps and side salad . Nice pub though .

Booked in for seven thirty, arrived at ten pat seven and wasn’t greeted at the bar,then told to find our own seat which was fine but bar staff wasn’t happy to help, asked at the bar for a menu but was told it was on the table but wasnt, ordered our starter to be told that they had no garlic or mushrooms and tomatoes. Asked why this was and got told our suppliers have not delivered, when then ordered nachos and they was so bland with a coating of cheese with wasnt very appraising. We was then told after ten mins of eating nachos that we needed to hurry up as the chef was cooking our steaks because he wanted to finish early, we had not even had half of our starter at that time! Asked why we was given a table at half seven when the chef wanted to finish early and got told that they had no ideas who took the order! We was not even offered a refund on our starter and to go there one month earlier and be treated to one of the best nights I’ve had to go to this shambles of a excuse of being the same place is appalling. Will not be back

Great food beautiful pub supee staff

Our meal at the park inn was excellent, and the staff were so helpful even though we were 20 minutes late for our booking. They also looked after our guests who had arrived very early. They truly went above and beyond! Really good value for money, we will definitely be back.

I have deleted my previous harsh review as I have thought about it and believe I visited on a quiet afternoon only having a pint with no food so Hungry mouse is not really in a position to give an accurate review so apologies to the proprietor

Absolutely flawless food that creates passion to eat more. The service is some of the most excellent you will ever see in your life. It is very tidy and all of the facilities are always good and are sustained without question. Totally recommended for a night out or a tea. Plus has a very clean beer garden. Also very affordable price especially for how heavenly the food is. Amazing place. -Adam McKenna.

Unbelievable value. We had 2 rump steaks with a bottle of decent quality Australian Chardonnay for £20. The wine alone would cost that in many places. The presentation was excellent: the steak came with chips, peas, salad, onion rings, mushrooms, tomatoes and a portion of creamy peppercorn sauce. The steaks were cooked just as we asked for. The service from Paul was friendly and helpful. The surroundings are homely. Honestly, this is very good pub food.

Long wait for food not up to standard as new owners food average .

The Park Inn on Manchester Road, Accrington has opened its doors again under new management. My daughter and I called in this afternoon for something to eat and we were not disappointed. My daughter had the steak sizzler and I had the sirloin steak. My plate was filled with delicious steak, mushrooms, tomatoes, salad, chips, and onion rings. The steak sizzler was a large steak on a bed of peppers and onions and separately came the chips and peppercorn sauce as there was no room on the sizzler plate oh and we both had a fried egg as well.

Although the management appeared to be different, the menu was similar to last time we visited in 2019. We were early, but even so there were no other customers. A shame. We were warmly welcomed. The menu had a good variety. My partner had cheese and onion pie and I had lamb chops. I asked for an alternative to chips and was offered mashed potato. The meals were served promptly, the portions were generous and the presentation very good. With drinks, our lunch came to just over £20. Excellent value. We read someone's review who marked the place down for not accepting their dog in the dining area1. Why do people imagine that everyone wants pets in pubs?

Came here recently for a meal with family. The food was absolutely lovely with generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit.

Went for a Sunday roast after reading the good reviews. It was awful, instant mash, frozen roast potatoes and the gravy had congealed into a thick sludge on top. The beef was questionable and it smelt awful. Avoid at all costs.

Had a meal with my son a week ago. I had the lamb chops which were cheap and nasty cuts of lamb, my son had a rump steak which was cooked to his liking but very chewy. The pub is lovely and clean, the staff welcoming but the food needs attention

Just been for dinner and it was absolutely spot on, food great, service great and very Covid friendly, Cutlery was immaculate and wrapped up to keep them clean. We had fish and chips and chilli con carne 🙌 Already can’t wait to go back..

Came in the wrong door, got told off about coming in that door, didn't see the sign, then someone else did it, never said anything to them. We had to go to go back to the correct door and sign in. A Staff member walking around with mask under chin. Members of public and kids walking around willie nillie, when where ment to sit down at a table. A private function. Food was fresh, hot n tasty though, place so loud though, got a headache betime I left. Couldn't be helped thought. Yes would come again but hopefully after the lockdown. Would feel more at ease.

Came here last week for the first time it had been taken over by the new landlord/landlady. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat but we ordered 2 pints on wainwright... usually a really good beer served by previous landlord but this one...

We've eaten here many times pre COVID, first time tonight and I must say that we're disappointed- food under par and service exceptionally slow. However senior staff who offered a small discount, although we will not be eating here again.

Visited the Park Inn following a recommendation. I can fully understand why. Great traditional pub food at very reasonable prices and generous portions. I had a mixed grill which came with 5 meats, egg chips and peas with onion rings, mushrooms and a complimentary peppercorn sauce. Thank you very much to the attentive service from the girls and great food from the kitchen. I pass on the recommendation and promise to visit again. Top marks.

We went to the park for a meal I ordered fish and chips my fish was raw and the batter chewy and under cooked, so I sent it back and the waitress just stared at me and thought I was going to have fish again...

We’ve been quite a few times before lockdown when Phil the previous owner was still there and it was excellent... unfortunately the new owners haven’t continued with the same service, the beer ( wainwright’s) tasted like it had been in the barrel since lockdown, the restaurant wasn’t busy yet it took 20 mins after sitting down just to order a drink. The atmosphere was terrible, they had the government announcement on every tv 🙄🙄🙄Then as soon as we ordered food the waitress demanded payment... very strange. Anyway it can only get better. Won’t be going again

Had the privelage of having lunch at The Park yet again was not disappointed we had an excellent meal.Ash and staff were superb as usual, beautiful food and excellent service.Would highly recommend.

Staff and food was good. No other real food restaurants to compare to. Unless you want micro meals at the brickworks Extremely rude and abrupt landlord though and awful waiting times. 1 and a half hours worst wait from ordering to serving Cash only as...

Fairly regular visitor to this haunt and just realised that when things get back to normal we could be without one of the most genial and open landlords out there, so this isn't a review it's more of a Celebration, Phil you will be missed.

Food is really good and agood price

Absolute beautiful meal...the steak was cooked to perfection. Chips were amazeballs and good veg n salad selection. And the wine...well it was smooth and fruity and I need more ;-). Bargain too x

Called in for lunch with my daughters. I had soup and a Croque Monsieur and they had fish and chips. We all enjoyed the lunch which was about £35 with drinks. Good food probably best in Great Harwood/Clayton.

Traditional pub with friendly, helpful staff. Chatty regulars. Food was delicious. They serve a variety of food including ‘traditional ‘ British food but also some spicier modern meals from other national heritages. Beer was gorgeous... tried the John Smiths Smooth. Highly recommend a visit.

Went with my wife, my 5-year old, my dog and my Dad. We chose on the basis of a recommendation and the fact that it was dog friendly. Food was absolutely terrific - highlights being herb encrusted cod on lobster linguini and also chocolate brownies...

Fab meal at this cosy local pub. No gimmicks, just good old fashioned tasty food in a friendly environment. Great service and a lovely meal. I’m very picky about my fish and chips and this was lovely. Lightly battered, crispy, no grease, real mushy peas and seasoned chips. Three generations of family. All equally happy with their meal. Typical pub atmosphere, good food,might go again

Heard and read good things about this little inn and have been meaning to pay a visit for months and today we finally made it. On arrival ordered our drinks from a really nice helpful gentleman behind the bar ( may have been mine host ) then taken to a little dining area up a couple of steps to the left of the bar and handed menu’s. A few mins later he appeared with a specials board that had around 8 extra choices on , all of which I would have been happy to order. Being on a diet I had to look more towards the salad part of what was an excellent choice of menu. I settled for a chicken Caesar salad and my wife chose lamb chops which came with boiled potatoes and 4 different veg and gravy. Mine was as good as I’ve had and my wife throughly enjoyed her choice. Other people in the area where all enjoying there plates of food too. We shall return very soon and very happy to recommend this excellent little hostelry. We had a late lunch so risked not booking in advance but would recommend that you do if giving it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Cracking little pub with a growing reputation for both it's ales and wholesome pub grub menu. Phil is a great landlord and front of house host. Ask him about his haddock quiche special.

Best food in Accrington. A wide choice on the menu plus a specials board. Good value for money and it's all fresh produce, not frozen or reheated. Friendly and helpful staff. A good range of real ales. This is a traditional and community pub with a warm welcome.
