Just like to know where the latest reviews are? Would not have given it even 1 star as you can't get on to write a review without doing this. Called in yesterday the 8th of November just for a brew, but decided to have a sandwich to go with it, chose a ham sandwich which was the worst thing I did, for £8.25 it was rediculous what arrived 2 small sandwiches and some sad looking lettuce on a board, was expecting proper ham but inside was plastic ham and not very much, ps the type that you get in packets from Tesco, I did complain about it while I was there but didn't get anything knocked off the bill. Altogether with the drinks cost £16.75. Anyone else who goes here please check quality of the sandwich before you start eating it. Will not be going again, a very unhappy customer.

I've been here before for lunch also attended a wedding no problems lovely food. went with my mum for her birthday today and had afternoon tea and sorry but it was poor 2 tiny bits of a sandwich the thinnest piece of sausage roll and a sliver of quiche wish I'd have taken a pic basic cake selection brownie, little eclair type thing and a macaron thank god the scone was ok not value for money £46 with a individual prosecco each then to top it off £14 for 2 little bottle of prosecco we've been elsewhere for much better last visit

Laughable “vegan options “ as stated above and pathetic service, no alternative to butter as “it gets thrown out” , nothing to eat for us except chips and bread with no non dairy spread , we were told to leave for upsetting the member of staff just because when they agreed that oat milk was provided I said “don’t you have to throw that out then?” No sense of humour or customer care , completely up themselves and full of it! Never go there if you can help it especially if you are vegan or have a dairy intolerance, also stuffy atmosphere and devoid of ambience!

Poor service to begin with, afternoon tea consisted of 2 sandwiches ie 1 finger size and the other a square postage stamp ham sandwich actually shocked that this was all we got. Slither of quiche and sausage roll which were tasty. Coffee served with no teaspoon and noone in sight so used other end of my knife to stir. Scone and other small desserts good but still havent got over the sandwiches which you wouldnt even give to a small child. Gave my comments when i paid as i think its good feedback. Wouldnt go again for the price paid 😞

Beautiful location for a wedding! Thank you to Simon and team for making our wedding extra special, the food and venue was perfect and communication was easy and uncomplicated. Simon was happy to accommodate our needs from opening on a Monday (when they are usually closed) to organizing champagne in the proper glasses. The price is super reasonable as well which was surprising given the quality! Thank you :)

I went a while ago to this restaurant for lunch. I was very impressed. The food and table service were excellent. I went with a very old friend for a girls' catch up lunch. However my experience today was very different when I tried to book for a romantic lunch tomorrow. I tried to book online on the website and received a confirmatory e mail to the effect that my booking would be confirmed 'shortly'. I left it for a while and then telephoned and an answerphone replied. I asked for a return call to confirm the booking and when none was received I telephoned again with the same result. I live not too far from the restaurant and considered visiting to check the booking but thankfully I examined the website quite closely and found that the restaurant was closed till 14 January. A very close examination of the site was necessary (and I am used to websites and indeed have my own and know how easily they can be tweaked to change details). I wonder why I was allowed to book through the system and why the answerphone message could not be changed to accommodate an announcement as to when the restaurant would re-open. I wasted quite a lot of time on this which was annoying and though it is excellent in all other respects I have been rather put off. Most of the other establishments of a similar standing were closed but this could be ascertained very easily. On this occassion no score for business acumen!

No disputing the quality of food, but that's as good as this review will get. Afternoon tea for 4 for Mum's birthday, which kitchen were well aware of. Service poor from the get go, and nobody could even muster a smile between them, given a menu and left. Service throughout was poor, not approached once to ask how food was/purchase other drinks, happy enough to walk past us and ask the other tables though? Do we not fit the image of what you want your clients to look like? Plenty of looks down their noses though. Portion sizing was laughable, even by tea for two standard. Vegetarian option had a sandwich removed, but not replaced with anything? Chef's attitude was that "maybe I should have put something else". Then questioned why we said nothing, because nobody approached us, and staff had bad attitudes which made us not want to find anyone. Could've done a lot better, especially on the service front. Be kind, for you don't know the kind of day someone's having. But right now? We have a tainted birthday, and very hungry stomachs.

Having eaten here several times now, I wanted to leave my review. The fact that we're returning diners should give you a clue that we think the whole experience is fantastic. The setting is unparalleled with fabulous views & lovely grounds with which to have a post-meal stroll. The staff are friendly, helpful & responsive. The food is fabulous! Great tasting, lovely choices. I especially recommend the Sunday Roast & the Wagu Burger - not at the same time of course!! The Gallery is licenced so a pleasant glass of red (or a bottle) is recommended if you're not the designated driver. The portions are good but you need to try & leave space for one of the gorgeous puddings - yummy! The meringue trio or the new addition of the blueberry baked cheesecake are my faves. On our last visit we were delighted to learn that the team are considering introducing a cocktail menu which would be a perfect accompaniment to an already superb drinks list. All in all, Simon and his team are to be congratulated in providing such a relaxing, welcoming setting for enjoying their delicious food & drinks. We'll be back soon!

We had booked a surprise afternoon tea for some friends. Unfortunately ,at very short notice ,one of our friends was too ill to attend. We had to decide whether to continue or try and rebook as four of us were already at the gallery kitchen. We assumed it would be a real problem for the staff but they were wonderful. They accommodated our dietary requirements and even boxed up the extra portion for our friend who was ill. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was wonderful and the service was exceptional. We have been here before and have always been impressed but today they went above and beyond. All covid safe as well. Highly recommended.

Abi had the goats cheese and chorizo with a side of Parmesan and truffle fries, Luke had the macaroni with salmon and prawns, Lou had fish sandwich with hand cut chips and I had the burger with hand cut chips.. all our meals were well presented, hot and very tasty! In fact I would go as far as to say that the burger was the best I have ever tasted, simply delicious. We were all pretty full as the portions are of a good size, but Lou and Luke both decided to have a scone each for dessert which they managed to polish of so must’ve been good! The better half has mentioned here a couple of times, but travelling to Accy for lunch just didn’t appeal to me (how wrong I was!). A week after Mother’s Day, due to the in-laws being away for the week, we booked a table for 6, plus a high chair. We pulled into the impressive grounds on a Sunny lunchtime, and were immediately impressed. Into the house, receptionists were lovely and pointed us into the right direction, a table in the window looking out onto the lawns, lovely. Drinks order taken quickly by a helpful and smiley waitress. As the adults decided, we ordered our 9 month old chicken and chips, proper chicken and home-made chips, not your usual frozen stuff often passed off on Childrens menus. Thumbs up. The adults ordered four chicken burgers, and two roasts. One beef, one chicken. After a little delay, the place was busy though so no problems, all arrived well presented, hot and MASSIVE portions. All clearly home made and freshly at that, and all finished with smiles all round! After a quick wander around the museum, we parted ways and all agreed we’d return. See you soon! And thank you!

Our visit was at 2pm on a Friday and the surroundings were quite comfortable and warm. We ordered three main meals and deserts, with speciality teas and a soft drink. The quality of food was of a high standard, with myself ordering the fish and chips. This arrived with 'pea jus' to decorate the plate, three small pieces of battered fish and hand cooked chips, garnished with watercress and a pot of tartar sauce. I have to say that the food was very nice indeed, but would have proffered peas or mushy peas rather than a green 'decorative' backdrop on the plate. The sweet of sticky toffee pudding was also very nice and came with a scoop of ice cream. No serviettes were served with the sweet courses, which I thought was a bit remiss of the staff.

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch at 2pm, we both had the soup which was tomato and red pepper and was very good. For the main course I had the seabass which was excellent. My wife opted for the Sunday roast which was lamb rump. The lamb proved to be undercooked and very sinewy and tough. The accompanying vegetables were Ok but the mashed potato tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. When the waitress came to clear our plates we mentioned that the lamb was not very good, they apologised and didn'tcharge us for the wine. It's not a very big establishment and as we ate quite late it was possibly we got what was leftovers. We will give it the benefit of the doubt and maybe try and eat there again

Faultlessly cooked beautifully presented & delicious with decent sized portions at a reasonable price. All of our choices had an imaginative selection of ingredients that complemented each other (pigeon breast with chocolate sauce? A real taste surprise!) For me the real show stopper was the cheese board. A proper selection of 6 English cheeses with plenty of biscuits grapes celery & chutney. A surprise invitation from my wife's Mum & Dad to go here for lunch. I have been to Haworth Art Gallery may times over the years and visited the original café on a number of occasions. We had heard good reports from others who had been since the franchise had been taken over by someone else. We arrived around 12.15 . When we went into the dining area it was empty. It had obviously been refurbished with good quality tables and chairs with padded bench seating on the outer walls. We sat down at a table and after a short while a young girl came and asked if we were ready to order. We were not asked if we would like drinks at this stage. The menu, though not extensive, offered a good choice along with a vegetarian option. I chose the Smoked haddock Kedgeree, which was faultless, The rice was not stodgy and the taste was superb. My wife the Eggs Florentine, and my in-laws the Chicken Risotto. The presentation of the food was 1st class and piping hot. We had an awfully long wait for our mains and even longer for the sweet course. The dining area had by this time filled up quite quickly. It was pretty obvious that the kitchen could not cope with the amount of people who were ordering mains, and others who were ordering pudding at the same time. My father-in-law had to go to the counter to ask where our desserts were. A shame really, because the food and the presentation of it, along with the location of the Gallery is really something that should not be missed. Would have been full marks except for the service.

I've been visiting the gallery all my life and was disappointed when the previous cafe/restaurant closed several years ago and was curious when I heard that a new venture had started. This isn't quite what you call a cafe. The menu, whilst offering the usual cream teas, sandwiches etc also has a good choice for those wanting something more substantial. I was not disappointed with our visit, the staff are attentive and the food good and well presented. We will be back very soon!

We had a girly lunch at this restaurant a couple of Saturdays ago. Although 3 of us arrived late due to roadworks, our table was held for us, which doesn't happen everywhere. We all enjoyed our meal choices, especially desserts. 2 of our party opted for a Chocolate Brownie, but as this had sold out, they were 'upgraded' to a scrumptious Chocolate Fondant which was more expensive and usually only served in the evenings. No complaints there! In fact we spent so much time eating, talking and admiring the views, we had no time left to see any of the artwork as the gallery was about to close. Another visit is on the cards.....

Had a fantastic meal on Saturday night as part of the evening bistro menu. I have ate here several times and the food never fails to deliver....the chef is amazing. The presentation and surroundings are beautiful. Thanks again. The best place to eat hands down in Accrington and gives the Ribble Valley a run for its money too. Pavlovas are to die for. Thanks

I have been going since they opened. It is an amazing place. The food is fantastic and more up market than anywhere else in Accrington. I would highly recommend a visit. The afternoon tea is great. The staff are lovely. I had seabass last time I visited and it was gorgeous. Worth a visit.

I have been a fan of the gallery kitchen since they opened a few months ago. The menu is varied, using seasonal ingredients and the staff are very helpful and always welcoming. I love the eggs Benedict and afternoon tea, especially the adder touches like the edible flowers. The recently added Sunday lunch is fab and I can't wait to be one of the first to go to the new Friday or Saturday evenings with friends x my favourite place to eat in Accrington with beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend this hidden gem in our little town x

We haven't been here for a few years as we live out of the area. As soon as we walked in, it was warm and welcoming. The staff are lovely and attentive. There is a good choice on the menu. The food was divine. We will definitely be back! Thank you. Oct 2024 We have been back a few times since the post above, and we were never disappointed. Yesterday we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there with family and friends. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Thank you very much for your attentive service.

We ordered a dessert table for our wedding. 250 mixture of brownies and blondies, which was the perfect amount. There were so many dessert options to choose from, and finch bakery answered any questions we had.

We booked a bottomless brunch for myself and 3 of my friends on a Saturday evening for a birthday. We had 7 cocktails each throughout the brunch mixing up the cocktails each time. Me and my friends normally get drunk quite quickly however we left this brunch stone cold sober. We were also promised a free shot for the birthday girl by the waiter but forgot and we prompted him again, we paid and 40 mins went by and still no shot so we then left. We felt very disappointed by this brunch as the drinks were very much watered down If any alcohol in them at all. Not worth the £35pp.
