The Plough Oswaldtwistle in Hyndburn

Previously had a very good experience however tonight was rubbish. Burger good but processed cheese slice ruined it. Given wrong drink waited 20 minutes to be offered another drink by which time we were ready to leave. Staff not really interested when comments made before leaving. AVOID AT ALL COST!

Lovely staff and really nice pub, we went on a nature walk and stopped in here for a quick drink. We was going to get a bit of food but found it quite expensive compared to other places we've been so we decided to just stick with the 1 drink each.

I can’t believe we’ve lived in Hynburn 3 years and never tried this place! Food was delicious, really tasty and fresh. Good quality ingredients at such a good price too! Staff were really friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back!

Myself, my sissy & our two best gal pals went to The Plough for the first time Easter Sunday. A neighbour recommended it to me. We were all very happy with the delicious food. We would definitely go here again and would highly recommend a visit. The best meal I’ve had in a long time. Service was great too. 😍

The Plough never fails to deliver on food. We often visit for special occasions including mothers day this year. Salmon was to die for.

I've lived in Oswaldtwistle nearly all my life and never dined at the Plough until now. I'll be eating there regularly from now on. The food was delicious. It's the only place in Oswaldtwistle where you can see scallops on the menu too. The service and atmosphere was excellent.

Excellent service from going in to leaving. Lovely to see someone dressed in a suit very smart The food was excellent hot fresh we left nothing the steak was to die for melted in your mouth.

Not go there again. Too expensive and boss running out for payment. ALREADY PAID

Second visit to the Plough and we were a little disappointed. Staff I have to say were lovely and helpful but the menu was a little limited . Maybe because it was a Sunday? The food was fine but we were charged £4.20 for half a lager (Amstel) and £3.55 for a soft drink. Way way overpriced drinks which has really put me off visiting again

The private dining area is nice, but the lighting levels could be higher. Staff were nice. Beer is also good. Maybe some ambient music upstairs would be nice.

Great place to go, didn't need to book and it was fairly busy. Went with friends and will be going back to share the same experience.

Last minute Sunday afternoon booking and we were very pleased we were lucky to get a table. Our first visit to the Plough and definitely not our last. The roast beef we both had was amazing, meat and veg all cooked to perfection and very generous portions, and as for the gravy, well i thought it was delicious 😋. We didn't think we could manage a desert but after a short break we had the bread and butter pudding and Eaton mess brulee which were both fabulous. All the staff were incredibly friendly and we can't wait to go back soon.

We haven't been here for a few years as we live out of the area. As soon as we walked in, it was warm and welcoming. The staff are lovely and attentive. There is a good choice on the menu. The food was divine. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Amazing sized sausages on the menu. They are huge! Meal was excellent, with the exception of normal gravy not being available. I don't see the need for red wine jus on sausage and mash. I would have been happy with bisto!

We come here at least once or twice a month, for food or just drinks. The service is brilliant, every time we go, we have the same members off staff (I really wish I knew their names, a young lad always in a suit, and a guy who works behind the bar). We had a meal last night, and both dishes were amazing. Every time we go, I always get the sticky toffee pudding, and I recommend it to everyone.

Thank you to all at The Plough for the excellent service, delicious, beautifully presented food and wonderful atmosphere for a group of 24 of us last night. Highly recommend.

Well....this place is simply brilliant!!!! If you're looking for high quality food, good service at what I personally found to be priced correctly for what you got then this place is a must!! Highly recommended the Sunday roast dinner, well worth a trip out to visit if you're not from the local area also, you will not be disappointed. Rated it 10/10 🙌

Deffinatly worth a visit, well decorated, and food delicious at reasonable price especially if you go for 2 or 3 courses. If I was being picky is we went around 4 pm on a Saturday and it was quiet and they put up upstairs, which seemed for function or bigger groups which I didn't understand apart from that good place to visit.

The restaurant is absolutely stunning, such a lovely place... food presentation spot on and taste even better. Highly recommended 👌 perfect for nice quiet meal for couples or large groups for celebrations 🍾 thank you for a fabulous evening. First time I visited but I will definitely be returning.

First time here loved it.staff were very attentive and pleasant. The food was superb set menu 3 courses great value everything freshly made.special shout out for the haggis and mushrooms starter as a Scotsman was just like being at home lovely.

This is our local restaurant our go to for a meal out. Said to my hubby today I want to go to somewhere different. So we went to a high class restaurant in the ribble valley high end cars on Car park very posh. They had a set menu £45 for two courses half in menu had a supplement! it was very nice but the food at the Plough was far better and superior, so if you want high class food at an affordable price the Plough is your go to. And I will always going back to the Plough.

Yet another eatery within the Accrington area that is worth a visit. The food is very good quality and presented nicely but may I say a little pretentious.There are a few things that could improve as with the Sunday roast beef a red wine jus is offered on the menu and unfortunately one of our party does not allow alcohol past their lips and no other sauce or gravy was offered leading to a very dry Sunday roast. Service was a bit hit and miss also as I asked nicely for a glass of water but after 10 minutes ended up going down stairs and getting it myself. The haggis and garlic mushrooms was wonderful and the beef curry was nice, lacking in sauce and a huge piece of solid brisket ( presumably). Two of our party fell back in love with the good old bread and butter pudding over indulging somewhat 😂😂 It is nice to have these types of restaurants appearing in our area they are a good thing so pop along and support them you may well be pleasantly surprised.

Food was amazing, nice relaxing Sunday Dinner

Delicious food and drink, very good value as well. We had the 3 course special and enjoyed every course, all washed down with a fabulous Argentinian Malbec. Staff helpful and friendly. Highly recommend and I will definitely return.

I went to the toilet and I slipped on the floor wich was covered in water

My wife and I decided to go for an impromptu Sunday lunch, we contacted the Plough Inn to reserve a table for two. The person answering the phone was courtious and pleasant to accommodate my request. We had the set priced menu which had a good selection of dishes to choose from. The food served was really, really, good. The presentation was top drawer and the food was cooked to perfection. The staff were exemplary. When the bill was presented we were pleasantly surprised at the prices for the food and drinks. We could not have asked for a better experience than we had at the Plough. Thank you.

My partner and myself, visited for the first time yesterday. The food was exceptionally good and extremely tasteful. The staff were nice and welcoming and even though we sat outside to eat. I am looking forward to visiting again and eating indoors. The venue is beautiful and very well priced too. Thank you for a great first visit, we will definitely be back.

Our family really enjoyed a beautifully cooked meal. It was hot, tasty and beautifully presented. I had carrot and coriander soup followed by Seabass and vegetables. The staff were really attentive and the pub/restaurant is really modern and clean. The restaurant is accessible from the carpark and the pub is downstairs on street level. The Plough is also set on the edge of beautiful countryside. I will definitely go there again.

Great food and brilliant service. We were a party of 20 and all ours orders were fabulous. The staff were lovely and service prompt but not rushed.

I had the pleasure of winning the chefs 6 course special menu for 2! I can honestly say it was amazing service! The foot was outstanding, the team were lovely. Each dish was unbelievable! Thank you to the chef and the staff :)

We had the Sunday roast with Beef. It was beautifully presented, piping hot throughout, and good quality ingredients, cooked to perfection. The service was excellent ( apart from another rude CUSTOMER dragging our waitress away whilst she was still serving us, so we had to get up and find our own condiments) The venue, is Beautiful and spotlessly clean. I had the cheesecake for dessert and my sister had Bread and butter pudding. We also had drinks, and everything was very fairly priced. We will definitely be going again, a very nice experience .

Booked a table for 19.30 to have the tasting menu. The food came out really quickly and we’d had all the 6 courses in less than 11/2 hrs! The food was lovely as was the service but the strange thing is, we were asked to move downstairs to the bar as the dining area closes at 8pm!!! If we’d been told this on booking we’d have gone earlier. Maybe this should be mentioned when booking?

Great food, great service, great price

Myself and my partner had the most amazing meal at The Plough last night. The Chefs menu was absolutely top quality and cooked to perfection. The staff really couldn't do enough for us, we had such a brilliant night and will defiantly be back soon

Really nice food and great service from our waitress Courteney. A little quiet in the early afternoon on a bankholiday weekend. But was well worth a visit. D

My daughter took me to the Plough for lunch for my birthday as except for once it’s always been a positive experience there and we’ve been lots of times as it’s our local. Unfortunately it was very mediocre this time and disappointing if I’m being honest. We both thought that the menu lacked variation especially if it’s a light lunch you want. There were no main salad dishes at all to chose from which isn’t great. There was music playing which is always nice to hear in the background but not this time as one track had lots of bad language in it which would be totally unacceptable for children to listen to. Even I didn’t like it and I swear like anyone else! We will give it a miss for a while and see if they improve. Sad really as it’s nice to have somewhere to eat on your doorstep.

Just back from Scotland and really surprised to see Haggis on the menu so my son and I tried it. My son said he would have forgone his Gammon and had 4 of the Haggis and garlic mushroom starters. High praise from him. Staff on hand were very professional and the food amazing. Will certainly go again when in the area.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Visited tonight and had two absolutely lovely meals, drinks and service. Brilliant quality food- we'd heard good things and we were very impressed. Staff polite, friendly and attentive. Clean (even the toilets) nice decor and good ambience. We'll be back (probably next weekend!) Thank you for a fantastic meal x

Service much improved although will properly judge when having chefs menu again ! Food - top class. White wine - horrific. Tried all in past and all terrible. Thankfully Moretti is good .

Just returned from here with a group of 7...mixed ages. Was told on arrival that out table wasn't ready...they suggested we go to the bar....which is down 2 flights of stairs ..they could clearly see the man with a walking frame...told then to just sit and wait....20 minutes after out booking, we were shown to a table....in a sweatbox of a side room...it was very hot in there!!....²⁵ mins later, someone took our order....25 mins later, the food came. Food was fine. Waited another ³⁰ mins for someone to come and ask us if we wanted desserts and to remove the plates....waited 15 minutes and dessert menus arrived....waited another 30 minutes and still no one came to take the dessert order ...we just got up and left ....possibly the worst service I have ever experienced in 40 years of eating out. Never again!!!

Came here with friends who'd booked so no idea what to expect. It was a Saturday lunchtime in January. Pub/bar downstairs with tables for food and we sat upstairs with a more restaurant feel. Quirky and attractive decor, a good atmosphere. Attentive staff but not over bearing. Menu is typically British IMO and all the good for it. Very tasty food, home made too. I had Gammon, which was great. Others in the party had fish and chips, cheese and onion pie and salmon, all commented on quality. This is not pub food, much better than that. Can recommend.

This place serves outstanding food and the price is unbelievable. We go here often about 15 of us, including kids. Highly recommend. Quick friendly service and delicious food.

Spur of the moment decision to visit as other places couldn’t offer time we wanted. Soooo glad we did. Superb meal, service and excellent value for money. Set two course meal. It’s always great when your expectations are exceeded. Thank you. We will be back.

Unfortunately i can't agree with the good reviews that we read to make us book a table here. Seated upstairs.... Cold room... People dining with coats /jackets on. I picked the garlic mushrooms with pasta to start.... Could barely taste the garlic, bland & needed some kind of bread to soak up the sauce... & this was weak & watery. Cutlery was a knife and fork... a spoon & fork would have been better. I left half the portion. Hubbys starter... Cauliflower fritters with a curry mayo.... If it wasn't for the mayo then you'd taste nothing but batter. Didn't taste the cauliflower at all! He left half the starter. Main course... I chose the scampi... It was over cooked, hard breadcrumbs and obviously frozen. The chips & mushy peas were half decent. Hubbys main... Spaghetti bolognaise. Flipn eck... This was dreadful. The mince was so ground it was resembling puppy dog meat. Pureed. Inedible. & after trying it myself i agreed it was vile. Maybe we just picked the wrong meals... Because reading the reviews it appears I'm the only one saying I'd not return. The young girls waiting on are very polite... No problems with their service. But the food for us was certainly not worthy of even one star.... The chardonnay on the other hand was very nice.... Hubbys moretti was chilled and of a standard. But left 1/4 of the pint due to being put off with his food. We've not dined out together for a while due to work and commitments... so was really looking forward to this evening, especially after reading all the good reviews... But will never dine here again. Turn the heating up. Tweak the starters. Ditch the freezer food. & the spaghetti bol..... Seek help.

Beautiful place absolutely spotless food was lovely with not much wait time, staff very friendly. If we're in the area again we will definitely be back.

An Great pub and an amazing restaurant. For a nice relaxed drink downstairs is brilliant. Nice choice of drinks and lovely relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant upstairs is second to none in Oswaldtwistle. Very reasonably priced for the quality of thr food which is actually exceptional. The chef is exceptional offering a wide selection of options to suite all taste. The chefs menu is exceptional and I really cannot recommend it enough. The staff are great, really friendly and welcoming. I really cannot speak highly enough of the plough and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anybody.

Well well well, what a great find. People had been saying for a while how good this place was but we just hadn’t found time to get there. Very glad we did though, service was impeccable the food was blummin fantastic and portions were possibly, dare I say it, too big. But will definitely be getting another visit. A lot of good pubs in the area and this one can be added to that list easily

Well, after over 100 phone calls on a Thursday afternoon ( open 12 till 2), trying to make a booking for Thursday evening, I gave up. Drove to the Plough to book in person…. Closed!! Website clearly says open😡

Didn’t get as far as ordering food. Drinks and menu were brought to the table. 25 minutes later, still nobody came and took our food order despite the table directly across from us getting drink and food orders taken even though they arrived after us. Felt like we weren’t wanted so ended up leaving.

Had an amazing meal here. Last minute booking but they got us seated. Food was incredible and very reasonably priced. After my meal I needed to do some work so was given access to the WiFi so I could work while having a coffee. Staff were all amazing and so attentive to their customers. Would definitely visit again if I'm over that way. Thank you for an incredible evening

Booked a group meal. Seating area upstairs was lovely. Pleasant change to have round booths as it makes chatting as a group easier. Service was faultless. Menu choices were great including a great vegan menu and superb midweek offer. Food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.

The food surpassed expectations and was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. Waiters service, food, decor and ambience superb. So nice to see hospitality done well in this country.

I've been there recently with my friends. Restaurant is beautiful inside, can't lie. But food is overpriced. £30 for a steak? You can pay less in Manchester and get more than that. In fire pit in Blackburn, restaurant with steaks ON THE STONE you can pay less and get more. They gave us table next to the kitchen. The problem is that kitchen is open and you can hear them shouting at each other. The food is good, but overpriced. Front staff is friendly, but i wouldn't recommend taking tables next to the kitchen.
