Perfect Plaice in Hyndburn

Called in last night ordered meat pie,chips,peas,and gravy, the pie, peas,and gravy,was excellent but the chips were like dinner time warm ups very chewy and not good at all,would expect fresh at the price you pay.

Went in today for lunch,my mum is in the care home opposite.The friendliest funniest staff you will meet anywhere.Had a real laugh with the two girls while waiting for my order.Excellent value for money,great fish and the spicy curry sauce was to die for.Next time I'm over in the UK I will definitely be calling in.PS the teacakes were a bargain lol

My son and I visited Accrington for a football match, and before we travelled, I looked for the top rated Fish & Chip shop in the town, on Trip Advisor. We visited at about 630pm on a Tuesday evening, and there was a group of customers waiting for their order ahead of us, and more came in after we gave our order. This is clearly a popular place to eat. I had fish and chips and my son had a large battered sausage and chips. We took them away to eat in our car. The staff were oaky, not particularly friendly but they were very busy, so no real negatives. The shop appeared clean and tidy. The food itself was nothing but ordinary and I really do feel that the people of Accrington are missing out if this is voted their best. the batter was thin and tasteless, the fish was adequate, the sausage was usual chip shop fare, and the portion of well cooked chips wasn't large. Ordinary is the only word for it, and there surely has to be a better place in a town of this size. There certainly are far better chip shops around the country. Would I return? Probably not, or at least not before I tried the other shops because I simply cannot believe a better one doesn't exist.

Absolutely amazing! Can't fault this place. Food is fresh, not greasy, well worth an eat. They have a different menu with salt and pepper favourites. A must try!

Best fish and chips in Lancashire

We are fairly new to this chippy (been about 5 times in the last few months) and it has been consistently very good. The fish is absolutely delicious with the batter light and crispy. Definitely our regular go to chippy from now on.

Haddock very greasy and not nice.the chips wernt that good either.prices keep increasing while standards off food decreasing in the last few months Time to start giving this place a miss in future

A great classic chippy, offering just what you need, great fish n chips. The prices are a little higher than some locally, but the quality and portions do reflect the higher price. It is certainly worth a visit if passing or in the area 👍

I love a gif fish And chips , decided to try the delivery service. Great , food was hot And great taste. Now open more days . Enjoyed every mouthful. Been a few times now

Beautiful fish, good selection of other menu items and excellent customer service. Just a thought... if local delivery (1-2 miles radius) was available for pre-ordered food it would really benefit a lot of vulnerable people in the area, and would undoubtedly increase profits and the frequency of sales to regular and new customers alike.

Clean, well run, very friendly and welcoming smiles for the customers, I'm there once a week with a team of workers we enjoy the well cooked items on offer. A nice friendly atmosphere, I'd recommend this shop to others I know.

Perfect Plaice but not perfect portions... Enjoy the food, but the chip portion is minimal. Therefore, I get chips elsewhere and pies or fish from here. 2022 edit. Still not improved much for portion size (in our opinion) compared to others in the area. 20p more expensive too. Even charges 10p to add a bit of gravy to a container for a kids meal and there is only 3 fish bites.

Prices gone UP and food quantity & quality gone DOWN. £15 for 2 x fish & chips but there was a very small prtion of chips which made the box they put the food in look empty. Wont be going back at those prices anymore, i can see why it was empty on a friday night when i got there. Usually this place is booming ( not any more )

When you pay £15 for 2 x fish & chips you expect a few more chips than what you can hold in your hands. The box they put the food in was just about empty, the fish covered the chips which made it look like there were no chips in the box, until i lifted the fish upi. Disappointed in this as the prices have gone up so much but the food is gone to rations. You can get 2 fish chips & peas at old mother red cap for £12, guess where i will be going in future. !!!! I would of added a photo but there was not much food to take a pic of .

Just ordered tea for three of us. It’s our first ever visit. Used the app. Very easy to use. Paid with CC and was given I time slot. I arrived on time and even though the shop was rammed the food was ready in minutes. I jumped the queue by ordering online….. BUT….. ( and this is where eateries let themselves down)…… the order was NOT complete. An item of food was missing!!!! This is sooooooo frustrating because you don’t notice until you’re back home. It was part of my wife’s meal which made it even more disappointing. It’s only a small thing but……. The devil’s in the detail!!!!! Would have been five stars otherwise. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Was down from Glasgow, believe it or not, to go to Oswaldwistle Mills. Had lunch here. Can only say it was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty! Succulent large fish, lovely crispy batter, perfect chips. Am drooling again!!

I don't normally post reviews but I was so disappointed in the Rag pudding it was just warm and looked so under cooked stodgy mess couldn't eat it. Very surprised as normally everything is ok friendly staff and owner 🙂

This chips shop is daylight robbery because given people half full chips, funny is they wants full amount of money from people. Just eat app are taking comments off when people being honest. They are ripping off customers. Best chips shop is whalley road Accrington they are honest

Lovely tea we ordered our fish and chips for 5.05 and was served by 5.15 excellent service considering how busy it was. The food was cooked well lovely and hot and very tasty. Staff were really good too. Will defo visit again well worth the money

Excellent service, brilliant value for money and fantastic food. The fish was pure white and the sprinkles of crispy batter on top, layered with chip shop curry was delicious.

Got the order wrong but a minor issue.. Everything in place regarding CV. Well done..

Good food, but last night you had two young men inside for at least 10 minutes or so, waiting for their orders, not wearing masks. All staff wore them, me as well. Two people came to pick up pre arranged orders, they entered without wearing masks too, despite sign outside. Recently, at my son's local takeaway, a young girl serving behind the counter asked a customer not wearing a mask to put one on, he did so with out any protest or problem.

The fish was not nice all mushy inside never had a choice of which one to order the chips well u pay £2 for a portion and only get about 20 in a try and all the food was soggy not nice would not be going again

Staff lovely. Maybe my mistake but i ordered lightly battered fish and the fish felt like hardly any batter on but the main reason for the score is they were very greasy like out of the pan and immediatley wrapped. Other than that everything ok including portion sizes. Was hoping to be regulars but hey ho.

Great place to get food wether you're a local or a tourist! Its cheaper than most places, in my experience, and their food is great! My favourite dish to get here is chicken bites and scrappies

I visited yesterday evening not long before closing, the food was excellent, the fish was the best we have ever had and the spicy curry was amazing. I would never go to another chippy after trying perfect plaice. Also the 2 girls serving behind the counter were lovely, really funny friendly girls and the owner even gave me a freebie! Keep up the good work all 3 of you, will be back very soon!

Friendly helpful staff and lovely food. Sometimes the steak pies from Laws are a bit dry. I buy them fresh from the butchers and they usually have a lot more gravy. Otherwise perfect.
