The best restaurants serving British food in England

Tuvimos el desayuno vegano. Se dejó fuera en el mostrador de servicio durante unos 5 minutos, mientras que los 3 miembros del personal lo dejaron enfriar. Cuando llegó a nuestra mesa, tuve que enviarlo de vuelta para calentarlo. No necesito haberme molestado. Cuando volvió, la comida ahora caliente apenas era comestible. Frijoles blandos, tofu terrible, aguacate horrible (presumiblemente preprocesado), col rizada quemada, espinacas sin cocer directamente de la bolsa, hongos gomosos sudorosos. En 33 años de ser vegetariana nunca he tenido un desayuno peor. Sin duda no recomendaría ir allí.

i took my granddaughter hayden for a burger and chips here at the whitehouse i had a lovely bread sandwich and beans but hayden cried and didnt eat his tomato and pickle toastie. the place was not very clean i found shaving foam under the table and it smelt like moudly cheese. but a nice experinece and an average birthday party at least hayden got his vbucks.

It is not grate she introduced hers daughter and son but not me my aunt lindsay or my cousin douglas

A large group of us had a fab meal here last week… food was amazing & Sarah & her staff are lovely. I have been to this restaurant numerous times & it never disappoints.

We have already been here twice since moving to the area in October 2024, once in February as a couple with our dog, but previously in November as a family group of 5 people. Both times have been excellent. It is a really quirky place with a great atmosphere and excellent food. It is great that they offer GF options, and our Jack Russell, Jess really rates the sausages!

Really nice Sunday carvery. All the meats were cooked to perfection, and excellent portion size. Vegetable selection vast. Staff really helpful.

Stopped for lunch which was excellent. Had a large cheeseburger with all the trimmings and a nice cappuccino. Good value as well. In addition to the lovely meal the two charming ladies serving couldn't have been more helpful; including giving my noisy dachshund some tasty sausage! Thank you and I will certainly be back.

What a great find. We live within the local area and decided with friends to go out for dinner and drinks. Trying to get taxis in our village is always difficult unless pre booking. The Sloop Inn solved this problem for us as we both have camper/motorhome so picked here as we could park up for the night. Lively atmosphere and the food was proper pub food. Tasty perfectly cooked and amazing service. The lady serving was so friendly and welcoming we will definitely be returning. Great pub great food and an amazing sleep in our motorhome.

If you didn't know it was there you could easily miss this charming bistro hidden behind the reception of the Laurie's center. I think it's only open until 3pm but for lunch it's perfect. Nice atmosphere, pleasing menu, good coffee and quick friendly service, a nice antidote to the huddle and bustle of the town centre. Give it a try!

The online pictures do not do the lodges justice it was amazing!! We stayed in cherry tree lodge mon-fri for new year with our 2 teenage children and 2 dogs, it was very cleaned and homely with the added Christmas tree was a cute touch.🎄 Another nice touch was the dog basket with a blanket, towel and treats.🐾 We loved the hot tub and the no WiFi wasn't a bother to us. The only cons we had was the chlorine was far to high in the hot tub that it bleached our swimwear, and a few cobwebs otherwise it was spotless. Thanks to Oakhill farm for a lovely peaceful stay, we will definitely be back.

Lovely bakery/cafe. Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely lady serving. Delightful service. Excellent freshly ground coffee. My husband’s favourite place for freshly filled rolls.

We had not been to the Tea Room for over three years and were delighted to find it is homely as ever, with good tea and delicious cakes, all provided at bargain prices. This is a real gem.

We booked three for lunch at 12.30 but could find not staff when we arrived. The one we did find did not know they had a brasserie.! We were offered a table but the waitress could not find the wine list. We left.

Very welcoming, friendly and efficient service. Good wholesome food. Good choice for veggies and vegans. Lovely setting.

3 of us had lunch here. We all chose something different and each dish was great. Everything was lovely and fresh. The soup was homemade with a generous portion of bread. The sandwich from the specials was accompanied by two types of salad as was the sausage roll. The service was efficient and friendly too. I highly recommend.
