The best restaurants serving British food in England

One of the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Fish full of bones and batter was so greasy that I don't think they bothered to drain off the fish. Staff couldn't have cared less, food was binned.

I've used Goodies for a number of years now. Decided to get myself pie and chips. The pie was dreadful, just liquid and hardly any meat. Will not be recommending them in the future.

Use to love this place now not so sure last couple of times food served cold and waiting 20mins also no choice running out of food at 6 o'clock not good

The VERY BEST fish and chips I've ever had. Got to be the best in Bristol. juicy white flakes of cod and plenty of it. Fabulous chips too. Thankyou lovely Lady, we will be back janet from Wells xxx

Now i know it's quite hard to mess up a egg and bacon roll but you'd be surprised how many cafes make a terrible one. The one i had from tasty bite was sheer perfection! Bacon was cooked just how i like it with no floppy white fat, the egg was really runny and golden and the roll was straight out of oven fresh. Only taking 1 star away because the price is a little high but it's a trend with most cafes since the cost of living crisis.

Only called in as I couldn't get served in the Unicorn as it was so busy. I should have realised that there was a reason why this pub was empty!!!! I had a pint of Ginuess (from a tin) but it wasn't cold enough and tasted awful. Ive been drinking the stuff for a long time and have never had to return a pint so felt suitable qualified to mentioned it. However instead of offering an apology the barmaid just argued that the tin was cold. I left it and walked out. I don't like leaving negitive reviews, but believe this deserves it.

I ordered and my daughter collected masala fish and chips from the shop. They missed giving spoons and never gave us napkins or a drink. Fish meal was £10 online and when my daughter went to collect they refused to give her a drink as they had not changed prices online. They are such tight and rude staff. They have poor customer service skills. Just take your money else. where. Not a worth it

If your visiting the hospital it's the perfect location because it's right across the street. It's about 10-20 minutes away from food tho

I rarely leave bad reviews but this was genuinely one of the worst meals I can remember having. Beef croquettes - awful texture and tasted of cheap BBQ sauce with a ‘siracha mayo’ which tasted suspiciously similar to Helmans burger sauce Pea, leak and asparagus risotto - I don’t even think you can call this a risotto. It was basically rice in pea water with cubed asparagus and leak. I have honestly made better meals in my home economics classes in school. To add insult to injury it was almost EIGHTEEN pounds. Truly shocking. Sticky toffee pudding - by this point we didn’t even want to eat anymore but we had bought a package so it was all included. I didn’t think you could go that wrong with a sticky toffee pudding but they found a way. It was burnt, cold and bitter. Awful. My partner got a burger (£19.00!?!?!?!!) and a cheesecake which were equally terrible. Had it not been for the package we had already booked and paid for, we would have left after the first course. The waitress was okay but it was all very amateur and slapdash. I would expect this sort of thing from a hungry horse pub but when they’re charging almost £20 per main you expect a bit more. Avoid at all costs.
