It’s a real shame that having found this great bar that we hear it’s about to close

The house lager and cider are banging and cheap. They let you bring outside food too. Nice. Watched the Southgate Euros master class here, the seats at AlterEgo were comfy enough for me to fall asleep due to the boredom of Englands non existent attack.

Tidy little place 10/10 as it had my favourite gin.

Was in for an early afternoon pint by myself.. and really enjoyed it.. It was my first time I'm Bristol for over 15 years and my phone was dead.. The man working was really accommodating and the place was very comfortable and clean.. really enjoyed it ☺️ Sounded like the other people in there enjoyed the Kareoke the night before too 😝 would highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing place, great drinks, great owners. Karaoke nights were a blast and it's a very cozy place with good music on regular days.

Great sports bar with a different twist. Not your usual standard sport bar. A lot more interesting and classier than usual. Staff were great too. Top spot for drinks and sport.

Booked a karaoke room here for a group of 8 and it was a fantastic night! Very easy to book and friendly customer service over the phone to confirm the booking. On the night we arrived to a busy bar but we were made to feel very welcome and were shown to our own private room where the lovely barmaid took our cocktail orders and delivered them to the room as well so we didn't have to keep going back downstairs. It was £25 per person which is an amazing deal as we each got 3 cocktails included, and they are properly made cocktails that taste delicious :) Very easy to use karaoke set up with loads of different songs to choose from. Can highly recommend and will definitely be going back for more!

I had my wedding reception here. Hired a couple of the rooms upstairs. Staff were really helpful when organising the evening, alway quick to respond to emails. Food served was great. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Went here for a birthday party on the 29th January. Bought cocktails and was charged full price. Their menu states that up to 1900hrs cocktails 2-4£12. Mentioned this to the barman and he said stopped that years ago. Showed him the website drink deals still said stopped that years ago. He attitude was awful and was quite rude in the way he spoke to me. Just checked again their website (February 11th) still advertising 2-4£12 . I will be contacting Trading Standards next week.

Went in for our friend's 30th, our friend was sent up the top of the stairs to the wrong place and then had to go back down wearing 5" heels, she's not the best walking in them as it is and fell down. She speaks with a thick northern accent and the manager accused her of being drunk and threw her out. Our entire party had to leave. Our friend had had 3 drink in 2 hours after having travelled down from Birmingham.

Nigel attended our hen party at Woodlands Farmhouse, the group absolutely loved the two hours of cocktail making. Nigel brought out the competitive streak in all of us whilst having a really good time, would definitely recommend

When its not a nightclub they do great coffees! Takeaway window and they do loads of must try flavours. Black forest latte, strawberry choco mocha and many more.

Great service and a nice marquee out the back to keep you dry from any passing storms that may be coming overhead. Play sport if you like that or can have a quiet pint outside. Well worth a stop off when walking down Whiteladies Road.

Lloc ideal per anar a veure Sports. Passen els partits importants de la lliga espanyola. Com a pub, no és gaire atractiu. Good for watching Sports TV and matches important Spanish League. The pub is not too nice.

We hired out the karaoke room, and it was perfect - the guy who showed us everything was really friendly, fantastic choice of songs, everything worked well, great room, excellent value - including 3 drinks per person included. Definitely recommended!

Desde el momento en que el equipo llegó para establecerse, hasta el momento en que se habían ido al final de la noche, no pudimos culparlos. Definitivamente los volveré a usar.

We recently hired the AlterEgo mobile bar for a charity event and Nigel and his team did such a fantastic job. They couldn't have been more helpful or friendly and I can honestly say that without them the event wouldn't have been the success that it was. Everyone commented on how good the service was and the drinks were very reasonably priced, especially the delicious cocktails. Thank you so much! I will definitely use them again.

Este pub é bem localizado, porém pequeno. Nas quinta-feiras tem karaokê. Frequentado por muitos estudantes das escolas de Inglês . Bom para uma boa diversão.

The guys at Altered pulled out all the stops for us for my husbands 40th Birthday party. We hired the mezz level and the function room and the venue provided us with a fabulous welcome drinks package, early access to decorate the rooms, our own private bar with two dedicated bar staff all night ( who mixed the most amazing porn star martinis!) We even had our own separate bathrooms. We were able to stream photographs onto 3 screens and play our own spotify playlist through their sound system. They even lent us freshly laundered tablecloths for the buffet tables. Nothing was too much trouble and the night was a huge success with many of our guests commenting on what a 'hidden gem' of a bar this is. Nigel and the team - you did us proud - thank you x

Been a regular for many years!! Great atmosphere and fantastic service.. The karaoke room is superb, I wouldn’t bother ringing the other places in Bristol that try to attempt it, they don’t come close to Alterego!!

Went to a cocktail masterclass and never laughed so much! We made our own cocktails and learnt some history too. The host Johnny was hilarious and obviously loved his job. Everyone has said they can't believe how much fun it was - definitely a winner with us- possibly the best 2 hours of the hen weekend!

Thank you so much to Nigel and his team for making my day so special. Had previously been let down by a mobile bar and these guys stepped in and stopped all the worry.

Went to a private party here you can hire part of the downstairs bar. Good evening had by all , drinks were a bit expensive usual price for that area I suppose

This venue was absolutely amazing! The staff were all super friendly and welcoming. My party didn't start until the evening but they were super laid back about me going in early afternoon to decorate the room. I thought it was a lovely touch that you can have a slideshow up of your own pictures and that the disco lights were there if you needed them. Would highly recommend to anybody that was thinking of holding a party here!

Could not have imagined a friendlier, more flexible and professional venue. They were extremely helpful, at relatively short notice, catered exactly to our needs and budget. The student discount didn't go amiss either! The event we hosted was a complete success, and will certainly consider coming back for Round 2 :)

Good place for watching sports. Out of the three bar staff I met, two of them were really friendly. Drinks aren't cheap, but there is a happy hour which runs until 7pm during the week where I think the drinks are 1/3rd cheaper. Not been there for a night out or cocktails for a long time, but they seem to know what they're doing.

We bought our team here to kick off our works Christmas party and it was excellent. Nigel did a fantastic job and everyone thoroughly loved it! The drinks were super tasty, new skills were learned, but mostly importantly it was fun. Thanks again, Nigel.

Visité aquí el jueves solo para karaoke. Fue un gran ambiente y una buena risa! Tienen alcohol a un precio razonable. Juegos disponibles para que los clientes jueguen, como connect four y Jenga. Me encontré con Bristol alterno al reservar un fin de semana de cumpleaños 30 en Bristol para mi marido. Noté que sus clases de coctelería parecen muy razonables, lo que siempre puede ser una apuesta si son muy asequibles. Pues no decepcionaron! Los cócteles sabían muy bien e incluso hicieron cócteles sin alcohol para mí mismo ya que estoy embarazada. Hicieron que la organización fuera muy fácil y un chico fabuloso llegó 30 minutos antes para prepararse. Cambiaron uno de los cócteles para adaptarse mejor a los gustos de mi marido, lo cual fue genial. Lo que realmente sobresalió de esto fue definitivamente el chico fabuloso / divertido que vino a hacer nuestro cóctel. Él realmente trajo las vibraciones divertidas y hizo una noche para recordar.

Hosted my Daughters 30th surprise party, the staff were great, so helpful and friendly couldn’t do enough for us. Great venue good location would highly recommend this place.

Alter Ego is the premier sports bar on Whiteladies Road, it is by far the best. When not showing sports Nigel and co. are usually holding student nights, parties, cocktail mixing sessions (very popular with hen parties) or just being busy doing what they do best, which is making sure that people are having fun.

The cocktail making with Mike was fun and enjoyed doing it. The room wasn’t the biggest and in the current heatwave we couldn’t wait to get out for air. We stayed for karaoke but unfortunately people have to walk through the area to use the toilets so kept stopping and joining in! A little annoying after a while. We were allowed to get pizza delivered which was fab and we got drinks vouchers for the bar. All in all a good place.

£5 for 3/4 pint of guiness from the most miserable staff in Clifton- grow up. I have to write 100 characters so that should be it- though 77 was enough.

Really fun place to spend an evening out, I recently went to a surprise birthday party for a family member here and every staff member was very helpful, we even left some stuff there which they kept for us to pick up a few days later, reasonably priced drinks considering there location on whiteladies road! A must visit!

Visit fairly regularly and really enjoy evenings here. Great bar, efficient staff and nothing to grumble about! Ability to hire the upper rooms very useful and good fun with private parties.

I booked the whole of Alterego for my wedding due to having a high volume of family and friends coming from many areas! Due to the venue being just out of the city centre we thought it would be very convenient and easy for people to find. Nigel that works there could not do enough for us and answered any questions I had straight away. All the staff there were so friendly and helpful and the venue was perfect and absolutely everybody had an amazing night! Could not thank you enough guys! :) Will recommend you to anyone! I think my sister will be booking you next year for her 21st birthday!

Amazing bar - the best in Bristol

Been here quite a few times with friends for a catch up drink! It's a smart looking bar and the staff are pretty chill. As you would expect it does get busy but drinks are reasonably priced
