Only called in as I couldn't get served in the Unicorn as it was so busy. I should have realised that there was a reason why this pub was empty!!!! I had a pint of Ginuess (from a tin) but it wasn't cold enough and tasted awful. Ive been drinking the stuff for a long time and have never had to return a pint so felt suitable qualified to mentioned it. However instead of offering an apology the barmaid just argued that the tin was cold. I left it and walked out. I don't like leaving negitive reviews, but believe this deserves it.

I visited the queens last week with friends as this is a nice friendly fun pub but on this occasion I was so disappointed the landlord girlfriend was on shift and on several occasions was very rude to us when we was purchasing drinks,we do visit regular but we are seriously considering finding an alternative as her manners and bad attitude are appalling.

After completing Worksop Half Marathon we were hungry and needed to find somewhere to accommodate a dog, child and group of people. The Queens ticked all of those boxes. The pub was quiet considering the time (1.30) and after looking at the menu tried to make an order....there was lots of food advertised not available and when asked what soup was available was told it was just a tin of tomato! The drinks on offer were thin on the ground too. Luckily there was plenty of Sunday carvery left, so we went with that. The staff were quick to let the vegetarian in the group know what items weren't suitable, which we appreciated. The carvery arrived on lots of sharing plates, the food was cooked very well and was lovely. No mushy vegetables on offer here! The chef even made an appearance to check everything was OK. The waitress was helpful and friendly but lady behind the bar was a bit grumpy esp when asked about drinks. Unfortunately when it came to paying, the pub didn't accept card payments, so dash to cash point it was! We were told that it was under new management but it reminded me of a pub that was winding down business, bit of a shame really.

Great value meal, polite and friendly service. Chips were lovely not greasy, and the new cheese cake desert in a jar was delicious.

Buena cerveza y personal sidra agradable pero un pub en particular uno no bebedores elegiría con amigas. El lugar es un poco viejo y en mal estado. Pero si no te molesta su entorno y sólo quieres una buena pinta no te puedes equivocar!

Pints taste watered down like everywhere else in worksop. Cheap enough, place to go with a few mates for a quick pint.

I've never left a review, but after my experience, I had to share my thoughts with everyone. It started off 'ok', food was actually really nice, I really liked the large array of help-yourself sauces on each table, I've never seen so much choice per-table. After eating our meals, my other half picked up the vinegar (cap-less) and asked me what are all those floating bits in the vinegar, upon closer inspection we noticed 20 odd small dead flies in the vinegar. Fortunately for myself, I didn't have any vinegar, but my other half did and was disgusted. We waited for someone to collect our plates, and when he came to the table I made him aware of what we had found, with just an apology and a rather questionable response he took our plates and the vinegar. What made the situation worse is he then went round other tables, taking the vinegar and lifting it into the light to attempt to look for any more dead insects. All of this in front of the seated guests. Why did you not just take them, clean them and replenish the vinegar across the pub? It was unprofessional to say the least. I wanted to enlighten the confused and puzzled looking customers with the facts as they witnessed someone take their vinegar and stare into it. Never again will I go back. The establishment needs serious work, and the Hygiene Standard Agency have been informed with photographic evidence.

We visited this pub twice during our stay in worksop. The first time was mid afternoon where the landlord accosted us whilst mincing about the tables. He was a pleasant little chap who struck up conversation whilst proudly proclaiming all his sausage came from the local family butchers over the road. Whilst chatting he mentioned we should go back that evening to a brilliant 60s 70s and 80s disco and a more than accommodating Dj. Unfortunately for us, having both had half, we took him up on his offer and returned that evening. All was going well and the 60s players was in full swing with a small group of silverheads having a while of a time on the smaller than average dance floor. The problem arose however when we asked the wannabe bob Harris for some David bowie, not an unreasonable request for the said disco. First of all it "wasn't disco enough" then said he would put some on, so 7 songs later with the smoke machine at full intensity, it transpired he never bothered putting any on his "one touch" playlist and almost killed 5 pensioners with the afformentioned smoke machine, we left, throughly disappointed and had to console ourselves in a back Street boozer with a couple of gins and a proper Dj! Chin chin

We chosen this pub to have a dinner in myself, partner, son & Nan. My nan is on a scooter so she parked it inside not in anybody's way and joined us at the table. We was having a good look at the menu when this bloke was making huff noises and causing a commotion.. He'd said to us it's not appropriate for the scooter to be in here as other people don't want to see it? I left it at that and we'd noticed he was still huffing and puffing, pulling pathetic faces and talking about us to his staff! I'd had enough and refused to be treated like this. This bloke turned out to be the manager! Lee Mills I believe who's ripped all those Rotherham fans off! Well he doesn't deserve anybody's custom after my experience today, he had slammed the door after us Leaving and quoted saying it's not for disabled! There is a cafe up the road that accepts disabled! So if you've a pushchair or scooter be aware! Don't lower yourselfes by going here there's plenty other decent pub grubs to be had! HE SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED HES A THEIF WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. APPAULING!

Me and some girlfriends came for some christmas drinks here and was absolutely disgusted by the cleanliness, service and whole experience! The place was extremely dirty and when I asked if it's like this where customers can see what's the kitchen like were we can't see I was told to mind my own business!! Unless I ordered food then it wasn't my concern! Then a friends daughter (aged 16) joined us for a soft drink and the barman was making perverted comments about her to other customers which made her feel very un easy, as obviously not the type of place you can complain in we left immediately. If you have young daughters do not take them here, the staff are awful.

The service was good but the food was terrible; tiny baked potato with a tiny amount of the most finely grated cheese and curled up, dried out salad and a congealed coleslaw which clearly was not fresh. I made the mistake of dining here again after a similarly poor experience; the portions are tiny and the prices are exorbitant. I will not return again. there are far better places to eat close by.

The website suggests that breakfast is served till noon so when we pulled up at 11.15am and noticed they were still closed was confusing, but we waited regardless till they opened at 11.30am as we were starving. It's been a while since I've visited King and Miller myself, and I used to rate the place quite highly. However, despite the refurb it had years ago - it seems to be doing with another one sometime in the near future. The place hadn't been cleaned from the previous night it would appear with under the tables not being cleaned, coins still on the sides and the tables near the arcade machine. The tables were sticky too and despite one of the reviews on here stating that the table salt and pepper pots were blocked, wet and messy and they got a response stating that sachets would be used as a replacement so that this wouldn't happen again - as you can see this hasn't been implemented. £18 for a bog-standard breakfast, where Heinz beans were apparently used as advertised but unfortunately this wasn't the case and you can tell they're not branded. The bacon was obviously done on an unclean grill, however, the egg was free-range and the hash brown bites were a good shout. The orange juice I had tasted like the carton had been left out in the warmth and then refrigerated also - my partner agreed with me and neither could finish it. The money spent should go to the staff who seemed friendly and helpful enough, but the food just wasn't up the standard, nor was the decor and cleanliness. I don't think we shall be returning unless there was some form of deep clean/refurb.

As someone with a passion for food, I’m constantly seeking not only exceptional cuisine but also the complete experience—great atmosphere, friendly service, and top-tier drinks. The Dog & Duck delivers all of this and more. Every visit is a true delight. The food is consistently incredible, but what sets this place apart is the attention to detail in every aspect, from the stylish decor to the staff’s warmth and professionalism. They know how to make you feel welcome, and the cocktails? Perfectly crafted, exactly as they should be. If you’re looking for a place that offers it all, from amazing food to an all-around enjoyable dining experience, The Dog & Duck checks every box. I can’t thank them enough for creating such a wonderful environment. I look forward to every visit.
