We have been a few times now food it excellent Katalin is a lovely person and very passionate about her duty.

I was invited here for my brothers birthday, after reading the reviews I feared the worse. However , we were served by a friendly waiter, food came out quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal. Steak, fajitas, everyone finished their plate. I’m often put off by bad reviews which is why I wanted to write this. Nice staff, good service , good food

We had our dad’s 60th birthday party here last night, after hearing good things and previous attended events from family members. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT it was everything from the food, to the barmaids attitude and blatant rudeness. FOOD - Let’s get this started with the food although it was plentiful a good selection, it was BLAND BEIDGE SUBSTANDARD buffet food (nothing special). All most all cooked items tasted like they had being cooked in the morning then served to us later in the day. The sandwiches looked quite frankly depressed, with not much filling on them. The dessert trays were laughable nothing more than a GLORIFIED VICTORIA BISCUIT tin mixed with Swiss roll, pastries, cheap jam tarts, Mr.Kipling French Fancies and then good old party classics Jaffa cakes and tea cakes. IF IM HONEST the dessert platter looks like it was a quick minute dash around the local One Stop shop. The cheese platter however was the star of the show, this was nice and a great selection. OVERALL the food was not what you expected from a “gold” selection buffet. Next up we have the staff in particular the BARMAID. If I’m honest this absolutely put a dampener on the whole evening and has been the talk of the event, that was ONLY last night . The barmaid was quite frankly rude and had an attitude problem, to all most all our guests (who were simply trying to order drinks at the bar). This made some of our guests feel uncomfortable with ordering at the bar. We had problems with our tab constantly all night, which we understand does happen when a tab is running. However it was handled totally unprofessionally with the barmaid simply shouting at guests to see a manager, and airing it to the whole pub. Would you not notify the manager that the tab is nearing the limit? So that he could speak to us directly to see what to do? (Like most venues do?). THE ICING ON THE CAKE - It was around an hour before last orders, when family members tried to order some drinks. The “said barmaid” proceeded to say the bar was closed. We had already been told that the bar closed at 11pm this was 10pm. So a family member said “oh sorry I never heard last orders?”. For the manager to overhear and say it’s not last orders the bar is still open. The drinks order was placed and the barmaid had a little tantrum as she had to change a barrel, it was apparent then why she said the bar was closed. The manager seemed out of his depth and scared, I was astonished he blatantly saw the barmaid been rude and did nothing about it. If I list every negative interaction with this barmaid, I think I’d be able to write a best selling novel on how not serve customers in a pub! Followed by a sequel on diabolical management techniques!. On a serious note, in a time when pubs are struggling this pub did not deserve our custom last night. In my opinion there are a lot better pubs around the area with a warm welcome and nice atmosphere.

Met up with friends decided to go to three legged for our tea , what a great decision it was , lovely food and service was excellent, made us feel very welcome thank you to John and his staff for a good night 😊

Visited with mum ,had a tuna baguette and salad,unfortunately I found a stone in my salad,told a member of staff,who looked very confused and said,oh don't know what that is,did tell him it's a stone found in my salad,are you going to tell anyone?he said oh I can do,I said please do,he then went into kitchen came back and said they don't know how it's got in there I just said, oh don't worry about it,he said sorry and walked of,really disappointed about this service,thought at least could of offered to pay for my meal,but nothing,will not be in a rush to go back.

Visited for lunch with friends who live nearby as they had been before quite recently. What a find. Great service, lovely piping hot food and reasonably priced. I understand it has recently reopened after renovation and possibly a change in ownership. It's lovely and certainly deserves to do very well.

Fantastic atmosphere , very nice waitress she is a credit to you. Played quiz and bingo won on them both. It was a colleague retirement meal

The pub itself is beautiful and been done up to Hugh standard. The staff were nice and friendly and accommodating sadly food service let it down. We ordered then 40 mins later were told.what we ordered wasn't available which was disheartening considering how long we had waited to be told this.. we had to reordered. We would have understood if busy but there was only a few ppl sat at bar drinking only and two other tables one of which came after us so not bust at all and not even a weekend but week day. We then waited ages for our 2nd attempt at ordering we arrived at 5 and finally ate at half 7 nearly quarter to 8. Food portions were OK food was nice but they needed to be for the prices they charge compared to other food establishments close by. We was asked of we wanted pudding we all did but was put off in case we ended up waiting another hour for that so we paid the bill and left. Such a shame if the food was quicker and prices a little lower would be perfect as the pub itself looks and feels amazing shame food side let it down.

Absolutely rubbish!! Wouldn’t even give the food to my dog . Staff were not professional had no training and the manager who we spoke to was not really helpful ,the food came out swimming in grease . When we arrived the young girl came to take our order and greeted us with Can l tell you what we haven’t got on the menu because we don’t get our delivery until tomorrow. We should have walked out at that point . They have supposed to have had new manager and staff. Well they need to start giving them training in hospitality before they are let loose to the public. 5 unhappy people.

Friendly staff, nice food, fare prices. Really enjoyed our visit, definitely come again.

Been in this evening for some tea had had chicken Diane and fish and chips and a halloumi burger followed by chocolate brownie with biscoff sundae everything was out of this world will definitely be coming back Emma and John are amazing

Place feels scruffy, food not what it was whilst one girl serving at tables did her best but was under pressure. Barman not helpful especially when used toilets for urinals only to see excrement on paper on floor, reported simply to be told “ oh yes someone else mentioned that” - shall not be returning to this dump

Returned today after a poor meal 7 yrs ago and today it was still very poor, so disappointed. The peas were cold, the chicken & mushroom pie pastry was rock hard and the gravy was like coloured water. The Gammon was so salty it was inedible and the chips were soggy with grease. We do not recommend this establishment and will not be returning again.

Wasn't very good food was poor and I didn't feel like staff cared anyway . I often give places a second chance . But in this case we won't be going again . I didn't complain we just got in the car and said we won't be coming here again

POOR Christmas dinner yesterday 😢 The starter was ok but the main had undercooked vegetables one Brussels sprout, The gravy looked like warm brown water, Roasted potatoes were very oily, not crisp. The Christmas pudding was very dry with little custard I had to ask for more. All this for £60 ahead Photos to follow make your own mind up ......

The food was excellent and the service was prompt and attentive without being overbearing, giving us time to relax and just enjoy ourselves. The atmosphere was very quiet when we arrived, and slowly picked up towards the end eventually becoming somewhat lively, but was never obnoxiously loud which is ideal for my fiancée who has sensory issues; in addition, the tables were well spaced which would be ideal for wheelchair users and in addition to the lighting, gave the place a warm and comforting environment. There was music of course, but it wasn't loud and featured a good selection of artists that for our musical tastes, were perfect. I had cajun spiced butterfly chicken with chips, and fruit crumble with custard for dessert, and my fiancée had cajun chicken burger and chips, and a sundae for dessert, and we could not get enough of it, it was amazing. The total came to just over £42, which is a bit higher than we would normally pay for for a meal for two, but in this case I think the price was more than justified, I've heard good things about the three legged stool, and for us it definitely did not disappoint.

First time visiting, as I was not feeling well enough before going in I can't really rate the food properly this time but the feel of this place was good and relaxing the staff where nice the food that I ate was nice also

We booked for 5 people for a get together, whilst waiting for our friends to join us we waited at our table not knowing if we order drinks at the bar or if it was table service, after waiting a while we decided to go to the bar and order as nobody came over and they were not busy for a Friday. We had to find a waitress to ask if we ordered food at the bar also as we were waiting a while and she said no she would come and take our order. We all ordered our meals and the food came out rather quick which was good as I said they were not busy. My meal came out wrong and it was swiftly taken away and replaced but the waitress was not apologetic about it, making me feel guilty about saying something. The food was very nice though. Nobody came to check if our meals were ok. After our meals we went to the bar to order desserts, more DRINKS and pay the bill. When the desserts came out main course plates still hadn’t been cleared, the waitress bought 2 of the desserts out and even though she went back to the kitchen she did not take any of our mains plates away? When she came back to bring more desserts she went to walk away when I asked her to take the main course plates away, she reluctantly took 2 plates away leaving the rest on the table still. Overall nice food but the service was shocking, when we left the staff were just leaning on tables on their phones. Wouldn’t return due to the poor service which is a shame.

Me and a friend came down recently and had some burgers that were delicious and reasonably priced for what you got, only downsides of this pub are the beer pricing (£5.50 for a pint of neck oil for example) and that some of the staff are not the most cheery sort, on quite couple of occasions we have visited we’ve found they can be very quiet and almost seem like they don’t want to be there at times. Otherwise it’s a good pub for drink and food.

Had something from the 2 for £15 menu. Food was tasty and well presented. Only negative and the reason for not giving 5 stars was that the garlic bread was rock hard - I feared breaking a tooth is was so solid.

The location and the interior is superb, the food however is dreadful, alleged handmade steak pie and the pastry was like concrete, vegetables that had probably been cooked earlier in the day and microwaved almost to extinction then served luke warm. My son had rump steak that was almost inedible, tough as old boots. Never eat there again.

Food is good gastro pub food. Very nice and worth a try. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. New Jersey chicken was good and the homemade pie with gravy mash and vegs.

Absolutely lovely food 😋 staff are brilliant. Pub is nice and comfortable. My partner is a fussy eater, the staff cooked him exactly what he wanted even though it was not on the set menu. Brilliant place ! Lots of beef , lots of mash , we really enjoyed our meals 😋 best Sunday dinner I've had in months! Definitely worth a visit ! Fresh homemade food ! You can taste the difference, the staff are lovely too ! Very welcoming 🙏 and they even remember us from our last few visits 👍

I went into the toilet bursting to use it and one of the staff members were being extremely rude said that I should ask before using it even though ee waited for someone ti come to the till and no one was there then we got told by her to never bother coming back sorry but that’s not how you treat customers

Just visited this pub for a family get together. Felt sorry for the staff as they were rushed of there feet We ordered our food and had to change our order on 3 different occasions.Food took well over an hour and food was ok just depends on what you ordered. Didn't get option for dessert as nobody came to ask. Theres alot better places to eat but may be not at the price. Will not be returning.

Visited tonight, food was fair but not well presented. Service intermittent, when food served no follow up and when we had finished, the plates still had not been cleared up after 25 mins so we decided not to wait any longer or have any deserts or drinks. When I went to pay and comment on service, staff didn’t seem to be bothered either way just took payment If you want customers you need better customer service🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

One of the best 16 oz gammon steaks you will get and the rest of the family meals was equally as nice also a large selection of puddings will definitely be going again

Wounderful food. And local beer. Had surf and turf, the steak was perfect. For starter was a prawn cocktail, very nice. Will be back.

The staff working front of house are friendly and helpful it was a double birthday meal for 20 people and they made sure the meals came out as close as possible together as their was different food ordered all well presented only slight issue the cod loin wasnt a flavoursome as expected and the sauce was very runny but apart from this everything went smoothly a special mention to the young lady (sorry didnt get your name)who was coming and checking the meals were correct and we all got what wanted before it was cooked great customer service through out definitely recommend to friends and family

Pub grub at its worst. Mostly frozen foods bought in bulk, fried or microwaved and put on a plate. The chips were home made though and the service was ok.

Food and drinks are nice, most of the staff are delightful however there is a certain member of staff who creates a really awkward environment by shouting at other employees, standing on her phone behind the bar when there are dirty glasses everywhere and even people waiting to be served. This creates a generally careless atmosphere for what is otherwise a lovely pub :)

We have just been to the restaurant, was fairly quiet, only one large table and something going off outside. We walked in and no one came to see to us, after a few minutes we did get seated, and then nobody came to even take a drinks order after 15/20 minutes. At which point we decided to just leave. Absolutely atrocious service, which is a shame as I have enjoyed food and drink here before in the past.

We booked for Queen's Monday Bank Holiday. It was very quiet. First impressions really clean and stylish with private dining areas and a beer garden. great menu. We really enjoyed our food. The NZ Sauvignon Blanc was super chilled . Big shout out to our friendly waiter Mitchel. God luck with your music. We will return next time in area. Thank you

Average food, very expensive, Certain staff need to spruce up their appearance, dressed as if they were running a back street greasy spoon and I think one was the manageress!! Don't think I will return any time soon

Went in a group of 9 as family were visiting. We all ordered food. The atmosphere was pleasant and, though there were plenty of other patrons, it was not noisy. The food was relatively quick to arrive, and other than a slightly over cooked pie top, was thoroughly enjoyed.

8 of us ate here yesterday and all really enjoyed our meals. Hoisin beef was delicious. Friendly service. Will definitely come back.

Was 3 people in the entire pub. 4 members of staff and took them 20 mins to get me a menu and I had to ask. Sunday roast comes with smash, aunt Bessie’s and everything else is just bland. Also the table still had half of the last persons meal on it.

Rubbish service when hardly anyone else in. Sent the pudding back as nothing like sticky toffee. Waitress laughed when I told her I couldn't eat it as it was so horrible. Will definitely not be going back.

Food was very nice, however my meal came 15 minutes after the rest of the table which had finished eating when I got mine. The said another table had ordered burgers so I had to wait. This was said when my meal arrived. We wanted a dessert so had to walk over to the bar and interrupted the staff having a chat to be asked for service. No one ever asked if you wanted anything. Toilets were also dirty and had no toilet roll throughout our stay.

Popped in for lunch and really enjoyed it. We haven't had any great meals in the area recently so it was refreshing to find really well cooked food served by friendly staff. Would recommend the nachos! We will definitely return, thank you

We, a party of 10, 8 adults and 2 children were looked after extremely well on Easter Monday. Our table had been booked for 1pm but due to hold ups on A1 the time was changed twice. Thank you for being so patient with us all. The meal was delicious superb service. Shall definitely call again.

This is a well presented and furnished premises so initial impressions are good. The menu is fairly varied so there should be at least one option suitable for the most "picky". There is an average selection of drinks at average prices. The dining room is quite large (actually a collection of partly divided areas) and the chairs are comfortable. The menu pricing is competitive but in all honesty, any visitor who is accustomed to eating at this sort of price point probably has an expectation of predictable largely pre-prepared ("factory") food and it is here that the Three Legged Stool stands out. In my experience, pre-processed foods are rarely (if ever) part of the main meals served. I'm quite confident that much of what is presented has actually been prepared and cooked from scratch right there - and mostly to order; for example, their chips are (usually) excellent, with all the taste and texture of potatoes that have been sliced and fried, and certainly not simply extracted from a freezer bag. Ask for a composite dish to be amended slightly (no mushrooms in my bourguignon, please) and they likely can and will do it. And so on. In summary - there are far too many other places - at higher prices (Firbeck - I'm looking at you) - who could learn much from this place in terms of standard vs. price. There is a downside: freshly preparing food from scratch does take time. And in my experience they have never been quick. But if one wants quick, one has to recognise that a meal delivered in 10 minutes has very probably been either standing around all day or sitting in a freezer waiting to be reheated, and that's not what is offered here. I wouldn't describe their desserts in the same way, though. My guess is that (at least) the chilled things - cheesecakes, keylime pie etc., are bought in. But they are of decent standard. I have rated 4 / 5* not simply for the slowness; there is good reason for that. I have been here several times and know what to expect - but the communication with customers about likely wait times could and should be better, and it is for that reason alone I have dropped a *. Add "all our hot food is freshly made to order and will take around 30/40/50 minutes" (as applicable) into the staff greeting (eg when the menus are presented and BEFORE a drink order is taken) and 5* is well deserved. Highly recommended. (One brief note for those who haven't yet joined the rest of us in the 2020s - no cash; card only payment.)

This was my first time coming to the three legged stool and i was a bit surprised by the prices of some items on the menu however the staff were friendly and the food was okay.

I was at the three legged stool to have dinner with family and friends and their Aunt who visited from Canada, and we ordered our food and drinks. The drinks arrived early, but the food took over 45mins to arrive. My friend's 5 year old daughter was so hungry and restless that I had to go speak with a member of staff about what's happening to the food. Their Aunt from Canada had to ask if this is how the service is here at the restaurant in Worksop. She specifically said to us "Please don't bring me here next time". Not a good first impression I must say. Its is important to let you know that good customer service includes attending to your customers frequently and promptly, try to check on your customers regularly and ask if they need any drink refills, extra utensils or condiments and make them aware of the status of their orders and apologise on why its taking long. Please step up!

We went here on Saturday night the service was very poor staff was friendly but stood around the bar area talking when the chefs kept shouting out service as the food was sat waiting to be taken out and what topped it for us and is the reason we won't be returning was when we saw the lady chef make a ice cream sundae squirt cream on top and then squirt it into her mouth straight from the can we was sat infront on the kitchen so saw everything if she's doing this infront of the door what are they doing behind closed ones discusting

Not been for quite awhile won't be going back in a hurry food very disappointing chips inedible mashed potato cold veg raw parsley sauce never seen parsley weak and watery smallest cod portion you could ever find and for how long it took to deliver very poor but one redeeming factor the service from our blonde pocket rocket was brilliant just a shame the management didn't seem to care and wasn't interested in our complaint

Better than average pub chain fare and similarly priced. Excellent range of beers. Usually good service but expect to wait a good while at busy times like Sunday lunch. Well worth a visit, go midweek if you're in a hurry!

Lovely big car park at the back of the pub. Friendly staff. Not a big amount of seating in the bar area. A big restaurant with plenty of seating. Good menu for plenty of choice. Food we had was delicious.

Catered for 13 of us so we had to understandably pre-order our food. It all came out together and everyone enjoyed what they had eaten. The only reason I have given 4 stars rather than 5 is because once our food had been delivered the only time we had any staff come to our table was to clear dishes and empty glasses. There was no checking our food was OK or if we wanted any drinks nor were we asked if we wanted deserts. Having said that the men on our table were also happy to get up and go to the bar for our drinks as and when we wanted them so wasn't an issue. I would definitely go back as the food was lovely and I would recommend to any of my friends.

Absolutely loved this place. Warm cozy environment Good selection of beers and wines. However. The one reason I will return to this establishment. THE STAFF. From the bar staff to the chefs. They are all absolute gems. Never too busy. Always friendly. For these guys and gals. The extra mile is not far enough.

Loved this place for food, and it's my local. Went in on 17th at 6.30pm with 5 friends. 3 pre-ordered meals. Had to ask for our order to be taken after 40 minutes. Asked twice what the Xmas orders were, in the end we asked the waitress if she wanted to know what the order was, her reply was yes it will save me going through all the emails. I personally ordered steak, couldn't finish it, so overcooked. Had to ask where our drinks order was? Profiteroles were served with knife and fork 😕😄 Shame, don't know if the chef has changed, but I know I'm not the only one to mention the overcooked meat. It wasn't a busy night either **

Very good Sunday lunch, hot and tasty.

Not the best Christmas Dinner I've had. Pig in blanket was a right little tiddler, that went down in one. Stuffing ball? Well marble really! Roast Spuds? Both were not crispy neither was the little Yorkshire pudding! But the 20 or so company was fantastic and stories were told and heard and belly laughed at. I had to rush for Tena. Would probably go back but I live in Devon so if I'm passing. Give it a go they were rushed off their feet. Just off to find out if its cream or jam first. Take care x
