Visited with a group of friends on Thursday evening. Decided to get some food as they have a new menu, we then discovered 2 for 1 burgers. I opted for the Korean burger and I was not disappointed! It’s amazing! Lovely staff and was made to feel very relaxed. Jade was awesome and suggested the burger to me:) Definitely return!

Staff are wonderful! Nat and Sherry are always very attentive! The k-bbq burger is amazing! Great addition to the menu.

This is my local and it’s such a joy to see it as it should be a proper community pub! Called in tonight for quick one with the dog and what a fab experience! Jade served us and was absolutely awesome! First class service, give her a raise she couldn’t do enough! Love this place and will definitely be back.

1 Star The Romans Rest in Worksop is, at first glance, a hidden gem. The food? Excellent—comforting and hearty with a real flair for traditional pub classics. The atmosphere? Warm, inviting, and steeped in rustic charm, with a touch of herbal tranquility that makes you feel like you've stepped into a countryside retreat. It’s everything you’d want from a great British pub. But beware the trap. Behind the oak beams and amber ales lies a cruel twist: a £100 parking charge for doing nothing more than what any decent patron would—enjoying a proper sit-down meal. No warning. No forgiveness. Just a letter in the post weeks later, transforming a night of leisure into an administrative nightmare. It renders the whole experience unviable. What should have been a peaceful evening ends up costing more than a gourmet dinner in a London brasserie. It’s absurd. Until this parking issue is resolved, I can’t in good conscience recommend a visit. The food may warm your belly, the setting may soothe your soul—but the parking fine will scorch your wallet. A £100 reminder that sometimes, even the loveliest places come with strings attached.

Amy was lovely in wacky warehouse, we only stopped as an interim between travels. She was super friendly, chatty, helpful and even got my daughter a balloon before we left. 🥳 Only had macaroni side and kids meal. All were hot and decent quality. I can see lock on left girls toilet being an issue with kids getting trapped as it has no proper slide bit though. Could do with play price somewhere mega visible as you come in.

Love visiting the Romans rest for lunch and a play in the wacky warehouse. Food is great and a good price, my nephew Freddie loves a kids fry up and eats it all everytime. It's a great place to come on a rainy day to get energy out of the kids. Jess is especially lovely and is always working hard, service with a smile and is friendly and approachable. The Chef Luke also made special effort to make my mum a meal as she was on a special diet which eliminated a lot of food as she was having tests at the hospital, which was so kind of him as it meant she was able to eat something for lunch with us. The play area is great and Jess is always working hard to keep it clean and sanitary. The only thing that worries me is the carpet in the playarea is old and has stains on it, and I'm worried how well it can be cleaned with it being carpet. A wipeable floor would be much better and more hygienic and make the whole place look better. With the recent pandemic it's important to maintain hygiene standards and keep things sanitary. I dont feel I can award 5 stars because of this, and am constantly applying hand sanitiser to the kids hands due to the carpet.

A Delicious Meal at Romans Rest – Double Burger Delight! I recently visited Romans Rest, and I must say, it was an absolute treat! We can fault this place, the food is always delicious and hot and the menu varied with great prices and something for everyone. Zack and Katie are alway bubbly and helpful we keep telling our friends to come here as we’ve not had one bad meal. My only ask would be Just turn the heating up a bit guys and we would stay longer 😊

Aa a regular visitor I am well looked after by the staff. They always have the live football on and it's a good atmosphere.

I came with my parents, as my mother is recuperating from a heart operation. Our server Kerry was really lovely, very warm and friendly. Our food was served really quickly, and was delicious.

I went to the restaurant with two friends this lunchtime. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We ordered drinks at first and then meals. Every meal was so well-presented and the food was excellent. Afterwards we ordered sweets and coffees. Nothing was too much trouble. Of all the Green King restaurants I've been to, this certainly is the best so far. Keep it up. We'll certainly be back.

Popped in for lunch whilst visiting friends and this is a really nice pub. The food was cooked perfectly, the staff seemed friendly and eager to help, the tables were as clean as a whistle and the price was very reasonable without compromising on quality. Will definitely be back when I'm in Worksop again. Highly recommended 👌

A really nice pub fusing the classic British pub atmosphere with a modern design. Aesthetically its a really nice venue and being Greene King its reasonably priced too. The landlord Dave is also welcoming and attentive to customers.

We went to the soft play, it was my second time in a week because Jessica was so welcoming, friendly, understanding about children and couldn’t do enough to get us comfortable and perfect for the cold days when you need to get out! The Mokka is delicious and we tried the brownie and flapjack, so yummy and homemade. Perfect! It’s lovely and warm, which I often find soft play centres are cold. The romans rest is such a lovely place, the atmosphere is always good the staff are so polite and happy to help. The food is amazing as well and it’s really reasonably priced also the drinks selection is second to none! I would recommend a visit to anyone oh and it’s very family friendly too!!

Our family visit the romans rest frequently, the staff are always friendly and the food is tasty and cheap. The kids love the wacky too.

Service was brilliant, food let it down . Had the gamon which was served on a skillet, and the chips and peas on a half round plate next to the skillet . Presentation was bit naff and the gammon was laid on top of a sloppy layer of greasy supposably fried onions. To be fair the server did ask if everything was OK. I would of liked the chance to mention it quietly to him, but my husband jumped in and said yes.

We are regularly visiting Romans Rest we love the atmosphere and the staff who are very friendly and welcoming, and they love you to your dogs making them feel welcome. The food is really good too, they are a Flaming Grill restaurant so they have a varied menu that covers most tastes and allergies all you have to do is ask. We popped in for the first time just over a year ago and we now make the Romans Rest our local!

Sherry and Luke looked after us all they are so happy smiley and efficient we wanted for nothing - lovely breakfast - my daughter loved the pancakes - our local so will be back.

We were struggling to find somewhere that would cater for a family event. Romans rest provided us with the perfect buffet. The food was lovely and no complaints from forty guests Presentation was lovely and plenty of food and dips… The staff went above and beyond … I would recommend.

We came here for a quick pup lunch after our dog walk. I can honestly say the service from Zac was exceptional. We always come here for a bite to eat for an evening meal, and have never been disappointed, the food is delicious, and always come out red hot. It’s brilliant for the money as well as you get generous portions. The staff are very friendly, chatty and helpful. Will definitely come back! Wanting to try the breakfast next!

Had the full English breakfast for the first time. I’ve heard it’s good food,I’ve even seen it when others have had it and it looked good. Today must have been an off day. Firstly the whole thing was barely warm, in fact the warmest thing was the butter for the toast lol which was burned on one slice and not even had a crunch to the other, maybe the same slice was toasted twice lol the fried tomato wasn’t fried at all. The bacon was very salty and had a burned taste to it and the mushrooms were salty. Plenty of sauce to mask the burned taste lol The sausage was nice and the hash brown were as well :) probably won’t have it again. The pub was nice and clean though and staff were polite. I’m thinking today was just an off day unfortunately

We have been to a lot of Green King Flaming grill pubs by far this has to be the best! The entire building is wheelchair accessible and child friendly along with the indoor play area where the kids and shmoos off before and after dinner. We were served by Sherry who was absolutely brilliant and took note of everything we asked for on our order to the T. Food was served in a reasonable time and was absolutely fantastic! Food prices are very reasonable for what you get! The skillets are brilliant! Fantastic staff along with a really great atmosphere makes this the ideal place to sneak off to with or without the kids! Will definitely be coming here again! Many thanks guys!

It's a greene king pub. Food is OK, staff today were mediocre. It was a large surprise to the waitress that I wanted milk with my coffee.

No staff, waited 45 minutes to 1 hour just to get served.

The very noticeable reduction in the actual food on your plate has the result of visually poor plate presentation, the negative family conversations over this weekly family ‘meal’ has brought the cost effectiveness of this (your) decision, back to your door. with the weekly family visit exceeding £90 on food alone wasting the good will of your local captive patrons will result in a reduction in the number of plates of food sold - I like the place, my children/grandchildren like the place but we will now be eating somewhere else.

Food was below average and greasy Went as a family with some friends because they have a play area. The board says the play area is open until 7, we finished our meals at 6.20, and the rest was for the children to play. To get inside the play area to be turned away as they have 'cleaned down'. There were children already in there playing. Just seemed like they were being awkward, and as you can imagine we had 2 upset boys. Price wasn't so bad but that was with discount, but food wasn't anything special Service rubbish and tables were filthy

A disappointing end to what would have been a great outing. Specifically chose to visited this pub today with our 2 kids for the wacky warehouse. Due to the children needing full supervision at all times we decided to let them play in the play area AFTER their meal. At 6:15pm we entered the play area and was turned away and told last entry was 6pm (despite the play area having no kids currently playing on it and only 1 family sat down eating) I asked why this is because it is advertised that the play area is open until 7pm. I said I’m still happy to pay the full amount even though I’m not receiving the full play time. I was then told we weren’t allowed because the soft play has already been cleaned down. Why is this? If you advertise the play area to be open until 7pm then why did you clean down nearly a full hour earlier ?? If this is the case then the play area times should be changed! I spoke with the floor manager after and explained the situation and he said he would speak with the lady in charge of the soft play at that time. He came back a few minutes later and agreed with the lady by saying she’s cleaned it down now so no more children are allowed on. Again, it is 45 minutes before the scheduled close time for this play area! This is not a great start considering it is my first time visiting this pub. The food was great, but due to the poor handling of the play situation I can’t imagine I will return here again. What a disappointing end to our lovely meal out.

Today i had a really good experience at romans with evie the member of staff on the bar she was very kind and friendly and personally just a lovely person to talk with while i had my drinks and food. The food there was really nice and filled me up quite well overall just a lovely experience here with the last couple of times i’ve been there.

I love Romans it’s my local and always fab for a pint or a bite to eat, or letting little one run riot in the wacky! Staff cannot do enough for you! Keep up the fab work, but can you please ask the powers that be to refurb the toilets!
