Gorgeous roast dinner. My ONLY criticism was that broccoli was a little to firm for my liking, otherwise it was stunning, and there was plenty of it. We will be going again. Lovely atmosphere and a very nice place.

Can't praise this place highly enough. Spectacular (and plentiful) food, friendly and welcoming staff and dog-friendly as a bonus when you've been to Everton Dog Run. Fabulous pub!

We were travelling home to Newcastle wanted a break from services called this place to see if gould accommodate which they could and wow what a fabulous little find the neals were gorgeous and so fresh the staff are lovely also well worth a visit

Very poor food, over cooked fish, the sizzling chicken didn't sizzle, the halloumi burger had one extremely small slice of cheese and definitely no chilli jam, scampi was anaemic,, the young lady server was very polite and apologized but we won't be back!

We were going to go for the Sunday lunch, but changed to a baguette at the last minute. Glad we did as it was delicious and filling. A lovely, cosy pub, divided into several smaller areas. Booking advised for larger groups eating, but probably not necessary for a couple. In the centre of the village so parking nearby may be difficult. Great beer, a selection of three cask beers. Highly recommended. We would happily call in again next time we're passing.

We've just visited for lunch as a party of 5. Staff very attentive and friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Food came quickly and was out of this world. Top marks to the chef. Safe to say we will be back! Thankyou for a lovely visit.

Came here Sunday with my partner and our young child after recommendations from family. Absolutely lived up to expectations. A lovely quiet family pub. Bar services with a smile and couldnt be more accommodating. The food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious! Even our 2 year old ate his veggies! It's not local for us but will 100% be back! Quiz nights advertised in the pub so will hopfully try that one night!

Arrived to an empty pub, which should have told us not to stay! The temperature in the pub was very cool & needed to keep coats on. We had a Sunday roast for lunch, the temperature of the food was only warm, not hot, we asked for the gravy to be re heated, the roast pots were frozen, deep fried, the veg was fresh, the meat had been stood & re heated & the mash was lumpy. In fact the only nice thing about the lunch was the Yorkshire pudding! The rest, tasteless unfortunately! We talked to the bar staff regarding this & said we were only prepared to pay for one lunch, my husbands, as I had left 90% of mine, due to the temperature & taste etc. When my husband explained about the temperature to the barmaid she argued back saying it was hot! No! no! don't argue with your clientele. In all not a nice experience & will not return!

First visit. very pleasant staff - particularly the young man who served us. Food was very average. one of our party discovered a hair in her meal. Pub is 'dog friendly' which we have absolutely no issue with but don't expect to see dogs sitting and eating on furniture which someone is going to presumably have to sit on (this was in bar area). Beer was well kept. Probably won't be back 😞

Hadn't visited it for many years. Pleased to be back though. It is well furnished, with olde worlde look. Good menu at reasonable prices in today's world (Sept '22). The best ribs I have had anywhere. BBQ sauce with a better taste too. Pleasant staff. Will be back.

Although I went to a funeral wake, the pub was nice traditional style with a good ambience.

Excellent venue, we enjoyed a drink or two as you do when in comfortable surroundings. Dogs were made welcome with water being brought to them shame they were out of doggie biscuits. Menu looked very interesting and good prices as it was Monday the kitchen not open so I think we will definitely have to return. Thank you Byron for making us so welcome.

called today food good .service good but asked us which wine we wanted .offered pino gracio, and savion blanc. when we prefered savion blanc was told they had none don't offer if you havnt got it .

I have eaten at the Blacksmiths Arms on four occasions and have had great meals and enjoyed the experience every time , the food the beer and the service is brilliant the prices are great to .I would recommend the Blacksmiths arms to anyone looking a nice meal service and surroundings . Amazing hosts and food! Always so attentive and brilliant with our dogs. Come on loads in last few years since Hannah and Dave have taken over! Brilliant for quick drink, party, tea etc just such a lovely atmosphere!

Great food, lovely place to visit, clean and staff so helpful. 3of us ate and drank including starters for just over £50. Couldn't fit a dessert in as too stuffed 😂

The Pub is Re-Open with new owners. Hannah is superb, she has a lovely smile & always greets customers who walk in. We went for a meal on Saturday pm & it was superb. The chef even came out & asked how things were. A lovely touch. The pub has a great atmosphere & is cosy & warm. We are not local to Everton, but the locals were really nice & talkative. They are having a New Years Eve Buffet, tickets are £5.00. We will definitely be attending for New Year.

Given a job to a chef, did not ask for references did not ask for a y thing thing else then 1 day before opening told chef not to bother coming in great business will epically fail under the new management

Lovely established business. All staff are professional and friendly. The food is very nice, fresh and cooked to perfection. Plenty of choices to suit every palette. You can eat in the bar or restaurant. Definitely a place to visit, either by yourself, as a couple or as part of a group. Definitely recommend The Blacksmiths Arms.

I booked a birthday meal here 2weeks for the Thursday 1st August when arrived with friends who had traveled up only to fine gates closed and security staff on site I asked what was going on was told the the brewery who owned the pub had closed it with out warning to the tenants who were running it I was not called at any stage after leaving contact deatails. I have seen a report on Doncaster free press saying the people who own the pub say it will be opening again the future well this will be 1 person who NOT BE GOING BACK after the way the treat there staff

Came last Sunday for my daughters birthday the carvery was beautiful had gammon and turkey and you got a really good portion,the price is excellent overall great value would recommend highly, Only draw back is we sat in conservatory for our meal as there was a large party of us and way to hot could do with air conditioning Finally a big well done to the staff the service was outstanding my grandson has issues with certain food and gets upset and would not eat a carvery as this was the only meal on a Sunday they went out of their way to put him at ease making him something he liked even though it wasn’t on the menu will definitely be going back

Good food. Very large portions so if you take your old granny see if you can get a child's one. Good beers on offer. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Very hot in consevatory on sunny days. Sunday lunch is very good value.

Been in the week for food as was very impressed with the food and great value for money. We decided to try the Sunday lunch carvery as it was only £6.95 each for 1 course and it was superb! You can take your dog's to and would definitely recommend this place

Nice to see the Blacksmiths open again , it’s a traditional village pub with beamed ceilings , all staff friendly and helpful, 6 of us ate there we ordered Gammon , Mixed Grill and Fish and Chips , all of good quality with home made chips , make sure your hungry as the portions are generous and good value . We will be back to try the Carvery very soon.

Visited here last week and found pleasant surrounds although very dark inside so decided to sit out as it was a lovely day. The meals came very promptly and were well presented however they did not taste as good as they looked. My friend had a cheese pie with the pie crust very pale in colour and could have done with a few more minutes in the oven. The inside was a FONDUE that is the only way I can describe it. Most unapertising!! I had a Chicken Berger and salad which was quite nice apart from the Bun which was quite stale. I can not say we will visit again as the meals were just average and no great experience.

We called today after a walk around Harwell woods for some lunch , And we was glad we did , tremendous food and a nice pint , dog friendly too three tired cockerpoos settle down cosily while we enjoyed our lunch , very friendly welcome and service great value , definitely be going back soon , Thank you BlackSmiths

After hearing the advert on trax FM we tried a meal with our dogs. Great, friendly staff, portions were very generous. Good quality food in nice country pub, simple stuff done well.

We came for Sunday lunch, we asked at the bar for a menu and it was as if they didn't have a clue and got someone from the restaurant. It felt like the bar and the restaurant where two different things and wasn't working together. Food was lovely but will not eat there again because the service was very poor!Think the bar staff need to work better with restaurant staff and have a better understanding of what's on the Sunday menu list

Just been to The Blacksmiths at Everton, being new to the area I thought we should try the traditional village public house and it was awesome - I had a guest ale and the wife had a large wine, I opted for the Fish Shop Platter which was amazing (see photo) and my with had the Smokey chicken dish this was all absolutely lovely - The Blacksmiths is now my new local I love the place.

We visited another pub in the area but didnt like the look of the menu so took a drive around the village and came across this pub.The menu is your traditional pub fayre but with a twist, everything is home cooked to order and the portions are huge! On arrival th staff made us feel welcome showed us to a table and gave us our menus. The food arrived well presented, tasty and looked and tasted amazing. if your in the area defiantly give it a try you wont be disappointed. Five starts all the way,food, service excellent. We will be back. Thanks guys. .

Under new management...... They have done well and only been open a few months since being taken over. Still a few bits and pieces to be worked on. Food is nice, portions are BIG, Staff are really friendly can't do enough for you. There are about 4 Double bed rooms one of which I spent the night in. A bit noisy to start with but its a pub so I expected that but i had a good nights sleep. In fact I woke in the night and couldn't hear a sound...really peaceful. Tv in room and fridge, shower, double bed...good value for money and breakfast was included. you can eat in the bar or the refurbed restaurant.... sunday roast is a must !

Delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. No wonder we had to book, this place is popular. The pleasant venue was light and airy in a conservatory. Starters was delicious home made carrot and coriander soup (the others had Crispy garlic mushrooms). Everything looked great and tasted amazing. Mains was a carvery, full of moist, delicious meats and good vegetables. Gravy was a little on the thin side for me, but very good. Yorkshire Puddings were great. Everything was very flavoursome. Dessert - who had room for this?! We made room. I had chocolate icecream as it was the only thing in the traditional pudding menu that I liked. It was nice but it wasn't anything special, unlike the rest of the meal. Everyone else really loved their's. The price very reasonable too. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a tiny step near the carvery which an elderly gentleman fell over after not seeing it. I really liked this place and would definitely go back to try some of the other delightful items in the menu. Delicious!

Our village pub has closed and opened many time. It has now reopened with new landlords, so we visited for a meal. Service and welcome was very friendly , and the meal was excellent value for money. Husband had scampi which was huge, I had steak and ale pie with pash & peas. Everything tasted good, but the mash was exemplary!! my neighbours went on our recommendation & they had a good experience too, try it out!

After a last minute call for mothers day i was told they were fully booked but they managed to fit us in 6 of us extremely friendly nothing to much trouble children made extra welcome food absolutely lovely thankyou for a lovely mothers day x

New Owners since Jan - Excellent Food and Service. well worth a visit

Called in here after seeing there van travelling around as didnt realise it had reopened. So glad we did the food was amazing. We had the Scampi, and steak and ale pie. Both superb. real pie with a real pastry lid not the usual puff pastry rubbish. Both served with fresh chips. Staff were friendly and polite and the whole experience was lovely. Portion are huge but value for money and well worth a visit. we will be back.
