The Society Rooms in Tameside

Was taken by a friend for some lunch and it was fairly busy but the service was good and the atmosphere was warm and friendly

The food is very good for the money

Breakfast was served very quickly.

Food is pretty decent and cheap, the drinks are also reasonably priced. Every time my dad comes up to visit me we go to this place it’s cheep it’s nice and it’s cheerful.

No background music . It gets a bit boring....

It was the first time I had been in The Society Rooms.I was surprised at how big it is,but so lovely,cosy feel where we sat.Staff were really lovely and friendly.Very efficient staff,the food was good too.I would definitely go again.

Great place to catch up and socialize. Plenty of space and always seats available.

Very busy for a Saturday evening I didn't think there where enough staff on as took a while to get served. Only stayed for 1 drink but was nice.

Always good. I love Tuesday steak nights. It's also really nice to have a drink with someone, or lunch.

Best spoons I've ever been to. Great food great price and great service, and now they sell courvoisier cognac :)

Usual Wetherspoons, toilets situated 3/4 miles away on the top floor. That aside, you can't go wrong at 'spoons.

Breakfast for the first time here last weekend, good range of food options, able to make your own hot drinks. Big seating area with an open fire, clean, good company. Only negative is that parking wasn't great

As with most other spoons, this spoons as great ales at very competitive prices, food is good and competitive. No parking. Entrances for all people. Well worth a visit. Nothing much as changed, same prices for food but slightly smaller portions.

some of the staff are very rude and the food is just blah. i suppose you get what you pay for. can be loud on match days but overall a good atmosphere.

You know what, its just a pub that serves food but what annoyed me was when asking 1 of the bar staff if the fish was beer or flour battered he just replied with his assumption it was flour. It wasnt until I asked if he was 100% sure that he then asked the cook. Then the double american cheese burger came out, well ive uploaded the picture and you can see for yourself it was a kids portion, theres no absolute way thats a 1000 calorie burger that the menu states! Plus the 14 chips that just about covered a patch of plate. The hot wings were just fried wings with a some spicey sauce. I worked at weatherspoons in the early naughties and id have been embarrased to have served these. Everything else...well like i said its just a pub

Met a couple of friends for a catch up over dinner and drinks. The app wasn't working to order, so we just ordered at the bar. Food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Spoons - they get it right. Expectations are always met. You know exactly what you're getting. Decent value all round. Ordering on the app is a breeze. Staff always good

On our way 'oop north' we stopped off at Stalybridge and hit The Society Rooms for a bit of breakfast. Yet another in the almost ubiquitous pub chain, we ventured in knowing full well what to expect. Awful carpets, uncomfortable chairs, cheap food and drink and a ten mile walk to a bog. The Society Rooms fell a little short of what you usually expect in the 'Spoons experience'. The pub just felt a little dated and as if the heart had fallen out of the place. It was all just a bit grim if I'm being brutally honest. The breakfast itself was at best, acceptable. Nothing more, nothing less, just run of the mill average fare. All a bit depressing and totally forgettable.

What you would expect from a Wetherspoon in food quality and prices. The atmosphere was friendly and modern. Beer garden was pretty large and sheltered in places. Would visit again 👍

The staff were great. It’s lively enough and the beer is good. They used to have amazing burgers here and the curry or burger deal and a pint was second to none. What the hell have you done WP. If this isn’t the most depressing burger I have ever seen I don’t know what it. The burger however was finally upstaged by the dessert which resembled the presents a dog would leave at the bottom of the garden after raiding the chocolate cupboard.

A great pub, as always, made great by the staff, the customers, a varied menu, and a wide selection of drinks.

Chips hard inside bacon not cooked chicken dry as a bone no refund god awful.Re I walked out said it was OK when they asked. Pride was lost in the kitchen.

Went for father's day. Was OK, food was luke warm, my glass had lipstick on it, asked for it to changed (not a new drink just the glass) not even an apology or any acknowledgement didn't actually say anything at all.

Split level room + raised area + beer garden + seating at the front. Big building with a good atmosphere. Real ales exerlant/ service wonderful well worth a visit.

Quick and easy family meal. Well fed after decent food at a good price. Table cleaned as we got there. Easy access to condiments and sitting in the area to the right of the entrance is just lovely. So open and comfortable.

Spoons on a Saturday night. Fairly busy but was a good night. People with their groups of friends. Noisy, busy and lots happening which was good.

Was sat at a table enjoying my drink when a member of staff clearing tables spilt a drink on me. After winning on the fruit machine and changing the coins at the bar I was short changed by the bar maid who refused to except she owed me £10.

Another very big wetherspoons. Used to be a sawing mill still as some of the features .making for a oldey autmosphere.

Meals are good value and the interior is large and clean as are the loos. The experience is somewhat ruined as I’ve lost count of the number of times the meal has arrived at the table cold.

Always visit The Society Rooms ( Wetherspoons) after finishing a long walk in the area for a well deserved Pint and something to eat. Will do again for sure 😊

Not bad food, service was ok and food almost hot. Small portions but cheap food so what do you expect.

Admittedly, it's the only local 'spoons I go in. It's clean and staff are good. Had a veggie breakfast which was great value. Didn't take too long to appear either

Excellent prices for food and drink and good atmosphere. Food was a little disappointing (just about warm and ok quality) but can’t really get too upset for the price paid.

My wife and myself took our grandson aged eleven last Friday for breakfast,we had two small breakfast and a he had a egg and sausage bap,I had read the breakfast were on offer but I don't think we got charged the offer price and also we received no toast with the breakfast,I had seen on the weatherspoons website you did get toast with your breakfast. To be honest the breakfast was very small but guess we did ask for a small breakfast. Just felt a little bit let down but my grandson enjoyed his food

Part of the Wetherspoons brand and recently extended and refurbished. Wheelchair accessible and with a menu to suit most tastes. Needing gluten free-food I always have options here.

I have visited in this weatherspoons for the past 13 years .. but lately the food has gone terrible..basically because the food is left on the hot plate for far too long ,our food was left on the hot plate for 20 mins .. When my breakfast eventually arrived to the table it basically came with all I can describe as comedy eggs... Inedible.. I mentioned it to the server .. who basically found it funny and said he will let the kitchen know.. then squashed the comedy eggs on top of the other plates thus obviously no way he was getting our feedback back. This is the second time this has happened.. and will definitely be the last time we eat in Stalybridge Wetherspoons... I don't like leaving bad reviews but feel I have no choice. Obviously they have new Microwave Chefs but they are doing them no favours and will now be avoiding eating there.

Quite busy for 1030am on a Friday. Breakfast was nice. A bit of a wait but everything came out hot. Staff friendly and working hard to keep tables clean and tidy.

Service lets this place down but i have visited on numerous occasions for different reasons. I have studied for university exams here and got absolutely legless here too up to you really it is what you make it but this was the first place I came to when covid restrictions lifted and it is no different today than it was then, change isn’t something stalybridge does (generally)

A very large and nice weatherspoons in the centre of Stalybridge, the food is the same as every other weatherspoons, fine and nothing special. Cheap beer, cheap food, and a nice spot, what's not to like.

One of my fave spoons in the area. They've done a good job of the outdoor space and it's cosy fire inside makes it perfect for the winter. Foods been good so far.

The services Lorax sometimes but there's usually won at the bar the food is called but the service not very good at the bar

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! ...the service is Mediocre in the morning and Abysmal in the afternoon, - went in after going to the dentist and a bit of a kid behind the bar refused to serve me because of my slurred speech ...it ended in a Fight with the 'staff' which is Still not over! ;) ...the place is a FIRE HAZARD!!!

The atmosphere was good staff friendly, and the food was excellent, I would recommend it highly.

I go here at least once a month. Service at the bar is great. Table service isn't. Sent my food and drinks to the wrong table last time I was there despite having to put in a table number. They completely forget drinks. Food is usually missing something or not hot

Large attractive Wetherspoons. Plenty of staff. Clean and tidy

Average spoons. First visit no hot chocolate from drinks machine was given a sachet of hot chocolate to do it myself. Wasn't told where the machine was. Staff often talking amongst themselves whilst hot food was sat waiting to leave the kitchen, not good first impression

The society rooms is a member of the Wetherspoons chain if you've been to a wetherspoon before you'll no what expect food and drink at great prices.

Have been visiting recently,always goid atmosphere bar abd waiting staff always very polite and helpful,so far foods been good and have enjoyed my visits.

Absolutely appalling food and service. Missed part of the meal and argued that we hadn't ordered it as another member of staff turned up with the missing items. Staff cleaning tables with a cigarette in their mouth. On the good side the beer was nice.

Great cooked breakfast. Peaceful atmosphere. Great value for money.
