Best fish I’ve had in years. Lovely staff. Clean place and great value. Got rid of all my change too. 🙏👍

Chips are discusting .Through most of them away . No care given. Avoid if possible save your money and go somewhere else.

Walked in here and received the dirtiest look for no apparent reason from one of the lady workers, like they didn't want us there. It was a very awkward atmosphere whilst waiting for the food. 0 knowledge of hospitality. Should have just left.

Pie was rock hard clearly a warm up from past day, sausage was full of fat dripping in it clearly another warm up, save your money go to another chippy/take out absolutely shocking.

We used to go quite often and it was really nice but sad to say it was not

Service and the lovely staff was brilliant. Food was so nice, could have gone back for more. I like fish and that was exceptional and fresh, the best thing was no grease and the portion was just right. Definitely go back again. Pensioners meal is good value for money.

A nice chippy in hyde .eat in or out.

9 of us walked into the restaurant unexpected on a Saturday afternoon. Service was fast and spot on. Not one item wrong. Food was lovely. Portions are large. Fish is amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you

Love their fish. Each time we come to Stockport we will visit Bosun for the fish. Price is very reasonable. The sitting area was renovated some time ago, it is much brighter.

The big size of fish tasted like rubber, the chips over cooked and less than warm, the mashed peas tasted salty and unnatural, putting an entry into the food logs - not visit anymore, will drive to different town for a fish and chips from now on

The fish ..... hard 2 describe it was like it had 3 large hard strips ! Like 3 Virtibrates (SPIN'S) Never had a bad fish in 20 yrs One thought was there doin a KFC ! Haha breeding fish with 3 spins I am sorry 2 write this review but out of 20yrs isn't bad

I went in bosun today with my neice and her baby. Food was lovely and plenty on the plate. Staff were lovely and helpful. Will be going there again soon.

PERFECT CHIPPY FOR LUNCH… Thank you so much to all the team at Bosuns. We have loved our chippy lunches over the winter. Food is always so tasty, great quality and we are so thankful for delivery. Paul and the team are super helpful too.

Been going to Bosons chippy for years as its one of the best chippies in Hyde. Probably the only chippy that has a small restaurant attached to it where you can have a meal and drink without leaving the premises. Ideal for families and friends to meet up. The food is fresh and of quality, fish is now only cooked when order which makes the fish better. Caters for most people who like English traditional chippy teas etc. The staff are pleasant and friendly.

Came in the shop to order chippy a young lady at till was busy cleaning the show glass with FLASH SPRAY while THE frying oil is opened, she asked me what I want and I told her to my SURPRISE she dip her HAND INSIDE THE FISH BOWL AND BATTER and straight into the OIL, I ASKED IF THAT WAS FOR ME? SHE SAID YES AND I SAID TO HER BUT YOU DIDN'T WASH YOUR HAND, AND SHE OH OK. No apology whatsoever

Generally untidy, tables were short of a wipe over and floor needed a sweep. Food was served on a chipped plate so sent back. Gents toilet flush handle was broken and dirty. Seen better at a roadside / truckers cafe.

Small portion sizes. Chips were cold and hard and looked like they are been in pan for ages. Curry was disgusting. Avoid and go to Kongs the best chippy in Hyde and possibly Tameside.

New owners need get the food sorted had two meals recently and they were dreadful. I wouldn’t be going back and very expensive

Great deals on a Friday after 4pm.

Used the takeaway numerous times but decided to sit in and have a snack. It has recently been revamped and is fresh and clean. My children loved the chicken nuggets and chips.

Love a good chippy and this is still one of them.cant go wrong here.the guy that does all the frying in bang on

Called in yesterday for chips &. gravy to take away. Got a shock when i paid, £2.75 & it wasn"t even a large portion. Won't be going in there again, rip off, well taking the mickey !

Avoid at all costs. This place is living of old hype, it use to be a really great place. Its sad to say its gone down hill they dont care anymore the food is shocking and over priced is an understatement for what you get. I would not recommend this place anymore. When all said and done its a chippy in hyde so where they get their prices from i dont no and i didn't think its was possible to be rubbish at cooking such basic foods. Also the place looks like it needs a good cleaning.

Gave it a try today as not been in for a long time.. never again got 3 small meals which were embarrassingly small seeing as they were £19:90 there were no lights in the toilets only at hand basin no toilet roll in 1 and theres only 2. The fittings were filthy and so were the walls and the high chair had food waste on that had been there a very long time just think whilst theres no customers maybe 1 start to clean as there were 4 staff also put.me off staff eating with fingers whilst serving. Seemed so helpful aswell but really spoil themselves..

Shambles of a business. Cant understand basic english. Food is possibly the worst ive ever tried and the staff are just thick. Speaking slowly for them isnt enough. Avoid at all costs unless you want your appetite ruined by some dumb people

Called at 4pm for fish and chips .on web it said it closed at 6 pm .got the last fish and chips as that day it closed at 4pm .got home and did bosun's a favour I binned the bouncy rubbery chips in my bin with the bouncy rubbery fish .garbage .

Amazing food and service great staff you will not be disappointed

Just used Deliveroo to order for first time, been craving a chippy for a while! Service was fantastic, arrived after about 15 mins, and food was great! Will be back!

Been in lockdown since the start due to health problems and been having a takerway delivery at least once a week from different places .And iv got to say the Fish & chips are the best we have had and the first time iv had a order from the Bosman and it will not be the last so from now on Friday tea is a Bosman tea pitty their only open for tea on a friday delivery was super quick as well

3 small chips and curry... Paid around £9 I know i wanted small, but to find no more than 15-20 slices (& yet, some pieces was really tiny) of chips was like shocking. Never seen that type of portions before.. A small tray was only one third filled.. fresh potatoes are not that dear where you have to cut down of the portions at this size.

Excellent takeaway fish and chips. Cooked to perfection. Shop very well organised to provide social distancing whilst serving superb food. Highly recommended and well worth a visit.

Gorgeous chips and best gravy ever yum

Order was 1 hour late. The chips were under cooked and the fish had hardly any batter. The prices are so expensive that it cost nearly £20 for 2 fish chips and curry and a can each. Wow. You can get a nice meal in a restaurant for that. There was also no grease proof paper on the bottom of the box and nearly all the chips where stuck to the box. Would never get food from there again

Wow. I have craved this and to have it delivered to my door was amazing. Food was hot and tasty. Worth every penny. Definitely a favourite.

Visited here today, the fish wasn’t cooked proper was more like sushi, set my irritable bowls off and haven’t got off the toilet since, ruined my whole day

The customer service is absolutely shocking, never have I ever experienced anything like it. Honestly laughable how bad it is. The staff just aren't arsed about customers at all.

Gone down hill used to be best chippy in the area but little care is given. Food is thrown together chips are usually soft and gravy is grainy. Not impressed with last couple of visits.

Food tastes good, but on sitting in to eat this morning I don’t think I will be returning. A 5 star food rating was displayed, but the place is dirty. The tables all had grease and food on them. The floor was filthy and the decor in desperate need of a refurb... just generally looks grubby and germy. Got 2 Slices of bread in a sandwich bag. With a blob of very cheap margarine splattered in the middle. Unsure what that’s about lol Won’t be returning unless the place has a good clean

Food was actually (to my suprise) genuinley nice. My only bad comment is the rude and obnoxious server who immediately assumed i wanted a takeaway and proceeded to put the food in a takeaway box. I noticed and explained i wanted to eat in. She sighed and basically threw the food on the counter. She then asked someone else to deal with me!! while saying and stilll serving me. Customer service is AWFUL.

Staff are rude, don’t seem to be very organised. Make you feel very awkward, food is nice but need improvement on the way the staff treat you.

Bosun's is definitely the best the fish specials are spot on and melt in your mouth and the staff are excellent

Been a few times but the last 2/3 times were awful. Chips holding in to so much oil & grease wasn't pleasant and the gravy was like colored water. Notnwhat you want when you're paying quite a high price for a chippy. Only went back as well thaught it was an "off day" but it never improved. Staff could also give service with a smile ince in a while. Thebcan make you feel like you're forcing them to do their job.

The food is ok nothing wonderful. Bit overpriced. The staff look like they dont want to be there. The delivery service is excellent though and food always arrives piping hot

Very nice clean and the meal was fine.

Some of the most delicious and reasonably priced chippy that I've ever had; it's so lovely and tastes beautiful. It's all made fresh to order and you never have to wait longer than 5 minutes for amazing food. There is a choice to either take out or eat in, both are great options: for eating in there is a small area to sit and eat in and toilets but still plenty of room for a quiet meal. This is definitely a hidden gem of Hyde and needs to be tried by everyone if you ever get a chance. They are now also on Just Eat for delivery but opening times for this don't run too late so make sure you check before ordering.

Great chippie with sit down area. Pie chips and peas wow . Very friendly,service excellent. Very close to bus station Good deals on prices , pensioner specials as well.

I love the chips in Bosun's also the fact that they use different fryers for the chips to avoid cross contamination makes them a class above. Highly Recommended.

Best chippy in Hyde town centre, but "Kong's chippy a few hundred metres up market street is the best in the whole of Hyde

Best advice is: don't bother. Fish in batter but no fish, when i pointed it out i was informed that's the way it is at the special price, place is not to my liking and too be honest i can't image how such a dirty establishment survives in this day and age. Mmm! the mind boggles 🤬

Not good watching the young girl stood over the fryers pulling her hair out to make a fringe then taking selfies. Then she didn't wash her hands

Paid £2.79 for bacon egg sausage barm and a brew... I didn't want egg however I did not get anything extra or reduction in price.... When it came it was one small piece of bacon and one sausage cut in half

Great food, a traditional Greasy Spoon from a friendly family run business.

Traditional fish and chips, steak puddings, pies etc. I’ve been eating here for over 10 years and the quality is always high. Eat in or take away. It’s only open during the day and very early evening to serve shoppers in Hyde town centre.

First time in here and can honestly say it’s the best fish, chips and peas I’ve every had in this area. I will definitely be calling back on a regular basis for more. Almost forgot to mention, the lovely staff. Very pleasant, efficient and helpful.

Worst chippy I have ever been in my life avoid!!really poor service the staff were swearing as my little boy was sat in the cafe area and the fish and chips I would not even rate at all.

I purchased fish , chips and peas from here, it cost £5:00 , the fish was as hard as rock because it had sat there for a number of hours earlier , the chips where average, and the peas cold , would not recommend this place to anyone, value for money it certainly is not
