Hour wait for food just to get food poisoning - wonderful

Welcoming and friendly staff, very helpful. Carol and Lee doing a fantastic job, making sure customers were happy. Food was one of the nicest carverys I've ever had. Place was spotless, tables cleared straight away. Very reasonably priced. We will return, thank you.

When we arrived the food was expensive for just 2 people for 2 carvery’s and 2 soft drinks was just under £40 and to top it off the food wasn’t cooked properly the roasters was frozen and not cooked and the staff was rude kept staring and flirting with each other in front off are table wouldn’t be visiting again any time soon

Phoned to book a table for the afternoon and the woman was very polite and helpful. On arrival was greeted by a smiling happy woman who made us feel welcome and explained our table was nearly ready, so ordered a drink at the bar and ordered our food, very nice woman again. After getting to our table, went to the carvery station and found a great display of meats, vegetables and trimmings, all of which were delicious, again served by friendly smiling staff. Will be going back, to try meals from the menu next

I telephoned the Queens a few days ago to ask if they cater for people with dietary requirements, specifically dairy & gluten free. "Yes we have options and can speak to the chef to sort something no problem". We arrived this evening & I mentioned I'd called and my requirements to be handed a plastic wallet with horrendous charts to flick through whilst the rest got normal menus. So sitting at the table anxiously trying to decipher these charts - roughly 5 pages front & back. Two options, one being the carvery if you pull off everything decent & the other being vegan cottage pie... the pie it is then. Food arrives two rounds of drinks in, the pie is a pile of veg sautéed and a sprinkle of seasoning accompanied by more veg. It looked like they'd taken the veg from the carvery section & just blobbed it in the bowl & charged a nice £13 ish for their troubles. After wanting to cry & not wanting to finish the mound of veg I was seriously looking forward to dessert at least. I should have known from the main meal choice it wasn't going to go well... The chef comes out " I have a raspberry gin dessert". I respond " I don't drink alcohol " He responded "oh" And that was the end of that. Two bowls of veg labelled cottage pie. One chicken salad One medium carvery 1 pint 6 j20 1 coke 0 desserts as the other 3 felt awful watching me with nothing. And the Queens Arms are almost £90 up. Had I not phoned first for assurance they could facilitate there would be no issue but that isn't the case & how I've been treated & the service provided was not acceptable. I'm left hungry, upset & family meal ruined for everyone. Their Facebook page wouldn't allow me to leave this review there & upon complaining face to face no resolution were offered. The bill was paid upfront, no refund,discount or alternatives were offered.

Absolutely faultless carvery, all fresh, homemade pies looked equally good!

Myself and 4 friends visited on 6th Feb,at tea time,we were met with such a warm welcome from a lady named Carol,well let me say you made our night Carol thank you so much,service ,food and the banter 100%.Hope to see you again soon nothing was to much trouble for this lady who looked after us all night.xx

Food is great. I am a wheelchair user & i had my support worker with me when i last went & i Have been a few times before but this time feel i must complain about something. I ordered a cup of tea which came with a biscuit in a wrapper which i had just got hold of & a woman who serves the food appeared & she 'took it off me & opened it for me' which i found very demeaning, she should have asked me if i would like it opening but she didnt ask. As i pointed out at the top of this post i had my support worker with me who would have opened it for me if i needed it opened for me NOTE TO THE MANAGER: Please have a word with the woman who serves the food & please advise that people in wheelchairs DO have a brain & we can think for ourselves & are capable of asking for any help we might need RANT OVER!!!!!

Great carvery . Plenty of choice .

I had the carvery which was simply delicious. The staff were so friendly and courteous. The pub caters perfectly for customers with mobility issues and has an accessible toilet. I would recommend this establishment to anyone.

Food was luke warm, main issue is the over priced children's carvery £10.45 Adults £10.95, not a very good comparison, also £3.99 for a coca cola, will not be going again, not very good customer service either

I would like to thank everyone at the Queens for making our family's belated Christmas day so special! I had to work Christmas day and boxing day and this was lovely. So thank you from all of us. Also my fussy eater of a daughter now wants to go every other Sunday for lunch

4 weeks ago I emailed you about my experience at the Queens, I asked for a reply and have not had a reply so that makes me feel as you are just like your ´front of house´ and don’t care about your customers, only to talk about them at the bar and other diners that day and get them to write a review, I suspect a couple of free drinks were involved for them to write their review.

Was in the local area with my cousin helping a friend move home to across the road from the pub thought we would give it a try,😁🤓loved everything about it from the friendly staff welcome as we entered, fantastic venue options and the best surprise was a full roast carvery choice of meats and pies endless good veg selection and gravy 😋 mmm all day every day WoW home cooked food at it's best from a independently family owned restaurant,, recommend to anyone 🤩👍👍👍👍👍

Not been for years and wasn’t sure how it would be and it’s still as nice as I always remember will definitely be going again when in the area

Great food, staff ( especially carol and Keiran who were at the tables) were great. Carol made us laugh and was super friendly, and professional. Was with two friends and we had a really enjoyable evening only made better with Carol and her happy way of serving everyone. She is an asset to the Queens. I booked a table for 15 people, for my daughters 21st birthday. Which we had family over from Spain that came with us. When we got there, we had 2 separate tables. So I asked 1 of the bar staff why and he got the manager cara but she was so rude. I asked her if we could be sat together and she was adamant that she told me on the phone we would put on 2 tables. If this wasnt the case i wouldn't of booked it and I told her this. I went to sit down and said to my brother I'll just right a bad review. As I wasn't happy with the way I was being spoken to. She then said that I was being rude and she had the right to refuse service while raising her voice and half the restaurant looking at us, stood leaning over my sister in-laws 85 year old dad was disgusting. My sister in-law had to ask her to step back away from him. She was shouting. Not once did i raise my voice at her. She was embarrassing. When she said she had the right to refuse to serve us we got up and left. Upset was an understatement. As I was leaving, she was stood talking to 3 men near the bar slatting me said I've just had a woman who was rude to me etc. Do you think that this ok for your manager to be doing this? Never again will I step foot through that door. This was absolutely disgusting behaviour my daughter was devastated her 21st birthday meal ruined. After speaking to other people about it I've heard a lot about her reputation and how she treats people.

We have been here a few times and will not be returning! The way the manager spoke to our family was disgusting when we booked a table for a birthday and were all sat separately. This was not stated at time of booking or we wouldn't have gone there! The manger was shouting right by my brothers 80 year old father in laws ear that she would refuse to serve us all because she was told by my sister that she was annoyed that her daughters birthday had not been what we had booked. The manager then began to slag us off to other customers all rather than apologise for the confusion and try to accommodate what mistake had been made. I work in this industry and would never dream of speaking to customers like that when it could have been resolved by them admitting their mistake. We had small children with us and she was so unprofessional. Avoid this restaurant if you are looking for nice food and polite service. You should be ashamed at your behaviour!

Ridiculously poor service. Rude staff and overall the worst experience we had as a family. Tables booked for 16 people for my Nieces 21st and the lady who ran the restaurant was obnoxious and nasty in front of other customers, all because we asked to have the tables closer together. Thereafter we also overheard the same lady tell other customers how we were rude! Never again will we frequent that place

Me & my husband have been going to the Queens arms for many years for a Sunday Roast. The atmosphere is always great & it's cosy and warm. The food is always amazing and the team are so lovely. Aidan is always running around and working hard and nice to talk to and the Manager Cara is so lovely. We went in today and a family of 15 had stolen our table as we were about to sit down. The woman was vile and rude and was shouting at Cara that she wanted our table for her family to all sit together. Cara kept her cool and dealt with it in a professional way and advised the horrid lady that the table was for us and already booked. The woman screamed she will be writing a bad review all because she wasn't getting her own way - entitled much! I barely wrote reviews but it angers me when people who are aggressive, vile & rude think they can get their own way by stating "I'll write a bad review". The team at The Queens are always so lovely and it's such a nice vibe and atmosphere I felt I had to state my piece. Keep up the great work Cara & Team me and my hubby will be back very soon.... Love the Queens, it never let's you down, from the service to the great food. Big shout out to Keiron his customer service skills is an absolute credit to the business. Lovely small family celebration for my Brothers 60th Birthday was made even more special because Keiron was our server. We'll done to you all

Some of the nicest staff I've met. The delivered a shop baught cake for my geandsons birthday and he was well chuffed. The food was great. Lost 1 star as the meat portion was 3 slices of meat only half a slice each though. In fareness I didn't finish the meal but who does on a carvery. But half a small slice of pork was a wee bit mean. Especially when the men folk behind me got a full slice for the same price! Man or woman, we paid the same love! I'll worry about my lack of waistline not you thank you!

Just been had steak and partner had lamb shank the food was amazing great value for money and the staff are fantastic and the waitress went above and beyond to help us fantastic will defo be going back

Absolutely terrible backstabbing staff. I put in £25 in a bag for the party hoster but the staff took it and claimed they didn't. Food is amazing but expensive. £12.99 for spaghetti? What. £15 for fish and chips. £9 for a sandwich. Crazy, absolutely crazy. I asked for the money back and as a usual answer, it was a "sorry, we don't have the money".

Not our first rodeo here went for a Brilliant catch up with our 18 year old grandson he loves a carvery and The Queens Arms did not disappoint it was lovely and plentiful he had a large carvery me and my hubby had normal size which was more than enough.Great Price we had drinks and a bottle of wine Great service a nice guy showed us to our seats and served us our desserts If you love a carvery this is the place

Called in while driving past. I have visited many times over the years and have not been disappointed with the food. Plenty of choice of meat and vegetables. They often have a choice of pie as well. I can't comment on the other menu just the carvery. I always enjoy the food when I visit and would recommend it to anyone wanting a carvery.

I went here for a carvery. There is parking for all, though limited. Entrances for all people. The staff were friendly and helpful and we we were shown to a table of choice. The carvery, you have to go to the bar,decide on plate size, pay for carvery and drinks, you are given a slip of paper for the carvery and drinks are brought to your table. Again carvery is simple. Choice of 3 meats from 4, and then it's your choice as you walk past vegetables. The food was well cooked, tasted delicious. Will go there a again. I ve been there a number of times. And found the food to be consistently very good. Well worth a visit and I will go there again. Nothing changed, I ve found it the best carvery in the area.

Carvery was just being started so everything was newly opened, yet like many other reviews say, nothing is ever hot enough. Cauliflower and parsnips tough. Definitely frozen style roast potatoes. The youngest man on the bar was absolutely lovely. The other staff are brusque and rude. One particular older lady waitress is loud and totally aggressive. She thinks nothing of shouting at customers.

Normally v good but Food barely warm (couldn’t see a microwave)only roast potatoes were hot, parsnips not cooked enough and bland Service was excellent

Beef turkey and ham were really nice, dauphinoise potatoes were fantastic. No gravy for 20 minutes, so food was going cold by the time it arrived. Staff in the majority were superb with one exception.

From ordering to receiving food took 40 minutes. It was a quiet Wednesday afternoon. We were not made aware of such a long wait. They also don't let you know when the food is almost ready so the other person could get their carvery. The carvery was rated highly apart from the gravy. It was as runny as water. The meat on the mixed grill was so chewy I couldn't eat most of it. I feared I would choke it couldn't be chewed enough. My daughter had the kids spag bol. It must have been sitting out while the rest was cooked cos it was so dry she couldn't eat it. Cheesecake wasn't fresh, hardly any biscuit layer and way too thick I hated going to the bar for more drinks as the older lady serving was not friendly. I understand that being on your feet all day but I am friendly so that's personally a negative All agreed we would not return here. The prices were expensive for extremely medioicre food. I do not understand the good reviews. One in our party would return for the carvery (but maybe sneak in your own gravy)

Need to be aware of what low lives you allow in your establishment. I went use the toilet & some total bellend came in after me accusing me of taking drugs and threatening to beat me up . I won't be made to feel intimidated by no one expecially in my own local & therefore won't be stepping foot inside this dive again

Went today for 1st time as family of 4. Place is busy and has a good vibe about it. Clean place with nice beer garden / outside seating area. Opted for 3 carveries and a bacon cheeseburger. While 2 of the party went up for the carvery, I waited with my son for his burger meal. When I went for my carvery (opted for large option) only to find out i was given same size plate as medium option. Unfortunately, the chef serving seemed to be in a mood with hardly a smile or interaction with customers. The meat is cut thicker than most other places we have visited however beef was overcooked to point where it resembled pulled beef and gammon was slightly undercooked in places. Roast potatoes unfortunately have all gone through the deep fat frier while the parsnips had a dark brown shade but were undercooked. Overall, with a little more care with food and a little more interaction from the chef it would be a great place to go.

We really enjoy going for dinner here. The food is lovely and there's something for everyone. Even an extra baby plate at the carvery for babies and toddlers.

Lovely lunch for my mothers 80th. 7 adults 1 child It’s not until Saturday but went today as I’ll be away on the day. I had the beef baguette with onions gravy and chips cut was absolutely delicious had this a few times now the baguette was lovely and soft and the beef was tender and the onions and gravy was delicious. The staff was brilliant especially Carol who found us a bigger table than booked as I brought my granddaughter so needed more space nothing was too much trouble. Carol had a great sense of humour and was friendly. Big thanks to Kristin who provided my granddaughter with a colouring sheet with crayons. Excellent family venue would recommend very clean, great bar staff and waitresses. Thank you we will be back.

To be honest I don't want to leave this place a bad reviews as it's usually alright but today I'm very very disappointed, I traveled from Oldham to go here and I paid a whooping (£16) for a burger that literally come with 14 fries no joke. I asked for the bacon crispy and when it come I checked but the bacon was really soft and undercooked and to top it off there was a nasty long hair in the burger 🤢 bare in mind I waiting over 25mins for this food and I wasn't waiting another half hour so I asked for a refund but there was no apology what so ever.

Food was good, but arrangements for a wake were not ideal. Confusion about gluten free food, and possible issues with cross contamination due to service arrangements.

I absolutely love the carveries here. Plenty of great choices every week and all cooked to perfection everytime 😋 👌

Would not recommend this place atmosphere very edgey! lady at front desk didn’t have a clue what to do or even show us were our table was food was cold only thing warm was roast potatoes but I felt like I was eating a brick! bar staff spot on 10/10 service friendly people only thing good was the drinks I wouldn’t give the food to my dog never mind people really disappointed with this food and restaurant staff thanks for wrecking my Sunday waste of money !!!!!!!!!😡

Best Carvery in the area, I always go early and never on a Sunday. Always spot on! Shame they don’t do real ale. Service can be a bit hit and miss, depends who’s on that day.

Had a great birthday meal. 11 of us and food was great pub lunch. Steak sandwich was lovely. Staff all very approachable. Great Manchester pub. Will definitely return.

Attended my friends 90th birthday at the Queens the buffet was delicious .service was great staff very friendly I have to add the fish and chips are the best they are stunning I highly recommend them as well as the carvery

People need to check surcharge ..here a pound on every meal...cost of living crises..family don't get asked ..you can ask to have this taken off...tips should not just be taken....

the staff makes the queen's arms a comfortable friendly place to go, although it was the first time I have been there, I can definitely say it won't be the last time I go, also the food is fantastic and plentiful, so if you want to go for a meal or just a drink the queen's is a really good choice

Went here for the first time for a Wedding reception. There were approximately forty of us and the service was great - the staff were extremely efficient but took time to be friendly too! As a vegetarian I often feel that a Carvery is lacking for me but our main was absolutely delicious and I was astounded by all of the vegetable sides on offer. Never had anything quite that good! Highly recommend and may need to move up from Lincolnshire to make this out local!

The carvery is great, hot and nice portions of meat. Its a bit expensive on Sunday vs other places but usually worth it. Menu items are hit or miss. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Would recommend.

Went as a guest to a birthday party and it was lovely. The buffet was fabulous. Drinks prices were a shock though - £3.30 for a bottle of Pepsi Max!!! Thank goodness I don't drink alcohol. But to be fair, I rarely go out so maybe its the normal price of things nowadays.

Attended a buffet tea after a funeral. The catering was superb with a selection of the usual quiches and sandwiches but with a fusion selection of Chinese and south asian cuisine. Proper china plates too with a nouvelle cuisine style and cutlery set out at the tables. These thoughtful touches made this difficult occasion special and memorable. Bar and hospitality staff were all over it despite a full house in this busy establishment. Little touches like fresh flowers on the tables and spotless facilities meant so much to a grieving family celebrating the life of a much loved lady . Queens arms we cannot praise you too highly. You did the family proud and we do thank you for it.

Visited last Wednesday lunch. We received a really warm welcome. The waitress Carol was really friendly, helpful and attentive. We had the best carvery we have had in a long time. This was our first visit but will definately not be the last.

Nice looking and decorated pub but 9.50 for a children’s meal. Ridiculous. Poor service. One of us had finished before the other had their meal. First and last time of visiting.

Best Carvery in the area ! . Selection of roast meats , pies and a vegetarian pie option included in the price. Best range of perfectly cooked vegetables I have ever come across including roast parsnips ! . The Staff are fantastic and very happy to help . Prices are very reasonable and represent good value for money . The restaurant area is open and has a good layout, with tables not too close together. The Queens Arms Audenshaw is truly a hidden gem and certainly worth a visit.

Great place to eat great team well looked after. Great chose of food on the menu. the carvery is excellent good chose of meats and veg. I love the spaghetti bolognese. Will be back.

The 3 of us had carvery which was excellent, good selection of meats & veg/sides, food kept hot & fresh rather than just left to stand. Staff attentive & friendly.
