Food was mediocre. Mash had zero taste. Friend smothered her food with salt and pepper as she thought it was so bland and we'd gone there because she was desperate for pie & mash after too long without. Also, the pies are large but the portion of mash is very small, and the gravy (not the liquor) was as tasteless as the mash. The atmosphere was meh but they may have been due to the time of day. There were also guests having a bit of a barney. Which might have been interesting if we could hear clearly enough to understand what was occurring đ. I will say that the staff were nice and the gentleman who cleaned the tables was wonderfully warm and friendly. The place was very clean, and the tea was excellent (would be better in a proper mug!). But unfortunately, for a restaurant, the food just wasn't great. And this isn't the first time I've been there and thought as much. There are far better pie and mash eateries around.

What a great place! We always have fish and chips when in Whitby but found out about this place online prior to our day trip. We can get pretty decent fish and chips at home so given the great reviews about this place we thought weâd buck the trend. We were not disappointed. Humble Pie is a small place full of character, the 1940s theme is great and the pies are amazing. Staff were lovely and the service was super fast, a relatively small menu means you donât have to spend ages perusing it and you know whatever you order will be top drawer. We got the steak and stout and the minced beef and onion pies, both were fantastic. There is a lot to be said for pie, mash and mushy peas served on a tin plate with a mug of delicious Yorkshire tea. As a bonus every table has a bottle of Henderson relish on it! Fantastic place with great food. Today we ate humble pie and it was good.

This is a must visit when in London! An old school diner with fantastic food and generous portions! This is what exactly what I think of when I think Diner. Fast friendly service, a great seating plan for everyone to get a seat, and food, the food is great. Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Fresh Coffee, Hot Milk, Delicious Orange Juice. If you miss it, you missed out!

We visited the Pointer Inn for dinner (family of 4) after a full day of sightseeing. We almost stayed at our holiday cottage because we were all tired and sleepy... But were so pleased we went out because this pub is great. We enjoyed roast dinners, pork belly and sausage and mash - everything was delicious and just what we needed after a busy day exploring the island. We got desserts to go because we couldn't bear to miss out (but also needed to get the kids to bed). A gem of a pub, highly recommend !

What an emporium of delights! We went in looking for a couple of gifts and came out with an overflowing bag full of goodies to take home for ourselves and others! There were chutneys, honey, marmalade, scones, fresh bread, biscuits, pastries, cakes, sausage rolls etc. etc. etc. Staff were very friendly and super efficient. You must visit- you will not be disappointed!

O dear. Loved this place: young enthusiastic staff, wide variety of gins and other interesting drinks, super salads, open and closed sandwiches. Our Whitby destination alongside a good wet fish shop. Now just another caff. Good luck to the ladies running it but it needs to be smartened and the grubby menus replaced. We should have known when we arrived at 1pm on a sunny midterm day: deserted quadrangle and mostly empty indoors.
