If you want to eat well in Perranporth, eat from Chapmans. With a traditional counter on one side and pasties and cold cuts on the other, they've got everyone covered. The food is delicious, the service is top notch and prices are reasonable too. Highly recommended.

This is our go to place for pasties no matter where we are in Cornwall. We bought pasties for two days - we should have got more as we were staying on the south, my question is - are these pasties the best pasties in Cornwall. the answer is of course is that I don’t know but what I do know is I have not found better one in the last 30 odd years. They have a good amount of good tender beef and plenty of potato and swede.and the pastry is just delicious.The only criticism is that my wife thinks that they are slightly peppery for her taste but it is the only pasty that we buy that I don’t have to finish off.! Whilst there we brought some excellent quality meat plus some cold ham and turkey breast which was extremely tender and tasty. Everything was first class. Why can’t they move to my area?

If you are looking for the best Cornish Pasty in Perranporth then you must go to Chapmans. Totally delicious. Traditional pasty has big pieces of first class meat and they aren't too peppery. The pork and apple pasty is gorgeous. Staff are so friendly and take pride in the quality of what they sell.

We popped in when we arrived on Saturday and picked up 2 pasties, there were huge and absolutely fantastic. A nice peppery taste and very filling. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. It was lovely to see a proper butcher's shop in the locality a rarity nowadays where I live.

Every time I come to Perranporth from Staffordshire on my holiday I have to pay a visit to this fantastic old fashioned butchers . The food is absolutely outstanding especially the hogs pudding I highly recommend this butchers to anyone visiting. The store also sells a small selection of cheese and other products on road parking .

Purchased some steaks and they were the worse I have ever cooked and attempted to eat. Really bad quality, supposed to be fillet! Don’t usually write reviews however must warn others not to waste money, the steaks ended up in the bin, not even worthy of feeding the dog. Rotten, will never go back!

Fabulous homemade pasties pies sausage rolls etc wonderful cheeses and cooked meats also a wonderful fresh meat counter with top notch meat and poultry.

If I'm in Cornwall, I always get my favourite steak pasties from here. Lots of other varieties of pasty as well as other baked goodies. Fantastic meat selection too. Served by nice friendly staff.

OK, so not made by these guys, but it was the only place I found that had gluten-free pasties! It came pre-packed in its own plastic wrapper, so had been made that way. Simply reheat for a bit in the oven if you don’t want to eat it ASAP. The lady was very friendly that served me, so I’d defo go back there to get more if I were in the area again.

Haven't cooked any of the raw meat yet but the it looks great, pasty and sausage roll were tasty. Friendly service and great selection of cheese as well. Will be back

During our annual holiday to Cornwall we visited Chapmans to bring home pasties, we were recommended uncooked frozen by the server after baking them as instructed were very disappointing they lacked filling were dry and meat was grisly. I mailed Chapmans but haven’t received a reply to date.

Great quality meat, fair prices really helpful staff can't fault at all. Pasties are really nice and better value than elsewhere in town

When visiting Cornwall I always pay a visit to Chapmans butchers. The staff are extremely helpful and full of advice. I always buy my cornish pasties from the butchers as there just the best. Baked fresh throughout the day , there just delicious. I always pre order a box to bring home and always recommend to family friends etc to get your pasties from Chapmans. I've been visiting here for over 30 years and will continue to for years to come.

Had a pasty from here whilst on holiday in Cornwall it was lovely pork and apple , perhaps a little more apple than pork also I usually get heart burn from pastry but didn’t have it this time very good work . The meat look lovely in the shop too marinated chicken and all sorts

We bought a couple of steaks to cook in our new Ninja Grill. They weren't cheap but they were good and thick and looked great. We cooked them with asparagus, tomato, chips and onion rings and they were absolutely gorgeous, tender and very tasty. We will definitely be back for more.

Really poor pasties. Ironically from a butchers, no meat in their steak ones... all potato and not cheap either.

Excellent butchers, just ordered all my Christmas meat from them, plus joints of meat for other family members as well.

Went in for bacon and sausage bap. Will never order again bread rolls are stored in a plastic tray on the floor (the floor) sausages was actually not even a sausage was sausage round patty probably from freezer, and was very greasy had no flavour dog didnt even want it. Bacon was rock hard tasted over cooked and fatty. Would say rolls are nice till you know where they are stored in the day. The utensils they use to cook are jus left in a cup no idea how long for. We also order pork pie which was tasteless meat tasting like sausage meat and stuffing. We are in the pandemic too why are there no 2m signs or limiting how many go into the butchers for such a small butchers you look over staffed too to the point my disabled wife and her assistance dog was almost pushed by a member of your staff not once but twice. Thats not acceptable we wont be going to you again my wife too nervous to go in again.

Best pasties we had in our time in Cornwall

On our last night away in Perranporth we decided on pasties instead of the usual take-away and bought them from Chapmans, They looked hand- made and were delicious. My partner chose the biggest one there, a full 1lb weight, which I wouldn't have managed but worth it if you have hollow legs! Enjoy

Purchased a mix of fresh butchers sausages, apple and cider sausages, selection of Chicken wings, Burgers and Massive Lamb and mint burgers, Kebabs of all flavors. these were BBQ'd back at the campsite and were excellent quality and flavoursome.

Visited daily to buy meat for a BBQ. Awesome selection and was never let down with the quality. Definitely the best place to buy meat etc. 😃

We visited here multiple times during our 4 day stay. We tried pasties from other places in the area but they just weren't as good. Would definitely recommend - we tried the traditional cornish, steak and ale, cheese and onion, and chicken and veg and they were all delicious.

A fantastic butchers with excellent products, however the service from the ladies leaves a lot to be desired. As I had seen a hot pork sandwich advertised on their Facebook page and this is what brought me to them today, when I asked if they were available the female customer service worker said did you see a sign outside, no then we don't have any, then after that the service went down hill, despite spending over £40 with them. I must say the men on the butchers side were amazing, full of smiles and friendly service. I was going to rate this a 3 as it means I will not beat a path to them again (as we did today), but if I am passing by I will pop in, as I said great products, put I don't pay good money to be treated in a rubbish sarcastic way. So generously I gave them a 4, because if sarcasm is your thing then you will not be disappointed.

Great friendly service from an extremely well stocked local butcher. Good advice with a smile why go any where else? Freshly cooked pasties onsite that are probably the best in Perranporth. Also a lovely selection of cheeses and most importantly from local producers.

I found chapmans on line and what a treat a lovely lady served me as I was paying I dropped £40 from my pocket and didn’t notice the lovely lady pointed it out nice and honest just like the pasty’s best I have ever had don’t miss out on the great taste of Cornwall

I emailed in advance of our holiday to order 3 of the August BBQ packs. I received great communication and the order was ready as promised. Everyone said that it was the best they had tasted and were really impressed with the quality. I would definitely recommend.

Great place for the traditional steak pasties. So good we took a box of 10 for £28 home with us to Yorkshire. Friendly staff. Has a good butchery and delicatessen and a lovely range of cheeses, some of which are Cornish. Recommended as the place to go in Perranporth.

When in perranporth I always buy my pasties in this shop they are always freshly cooked and taste great service is always with a smile. Also the meat on the butcher counter tastes delicious

Dropped in for a visit as we fancied a pasty. I got the chicken and veg pasty which was very good. However whilst placing our order there was another staff member shouting to the employee who we were placing our order with. The other staff member was shouting about another customers order which seemed to be a friend of the shop. They were after frozen pasties. Rudely interrupting our order process. I'll be looking elsewhere next time

Lovely dry cured bacon and pork sausages. All different cuts of meat and bones available. There is also a good Deli counter . The Cornish Pasties are excellent and they do other hot food. There is also a couple of chillers full of dairy products. Excellent butchers shop.

Was recommended this place for pasties so bought a job lot of Cornish steak, and cheese and onion. Cornish steak came in large and giant (500g). To be honest although hot and fresh from the oven, we found the Cornish steak to be quite chewy and spiced with pepper. Ok, but we would try another pasty shop that was around the corner.

Excellent cuts of meat and their home produced ham is wonderful. Great service from the long established Chapman brothers, if you value provenance then Chapman’s is a great choice.

This is good a butchers and deli with some quality products and friendly staff. We’re happy to keep the pasties I had purchased in their fridge ready for me to collect the following morning before our drive home. It was very busy and I noticed later in the day that nearly all their meat, kebabs ,burgers and sausages had sold out.

Spent a week in Perranporth. Heard such great reviews about this butcher. So bought bacon/sausages/ fillet steak. Very, very disappointed particularly the fillet steak. Tried pasties, again very disappointed. On a slightly different angle, why is there no fishmonger in Perranporth?

Whenever we are in Perranporth we always get our Pasties from here. We have sampled most of the others in the Town and these are definately the best. They do giant ones which live up to their name. All are stuffed full and always piping hot. Our son is very partil to their chicken and veg pasty, I'm a traditionalist and always opt for the Cornish, the wife is more rebellious and has been known to go for a cheese and onion. All are beautiful.

Living in Perran we couldn’t be happier that this family run butchers is on our doorstep. They are always friendly and polite, not to mention very knowledgeable about their products.

We recently had a week in Perranporth and decided to bring some pasties home with us. We ordered a box for the friday.They where wrapped and boxed ready to take home. Most made it to the freezer but we couldn't resist heating a couple for tea. As usual they were very tasty. Perfect reminder of another holiday in Perranporth.

We visited Chapman's a couple of times on holiday. The first time we got some steak burgers and Cumberland sausages which were really delicious. We went back to get some steak for another dinner, which was beautiful. You must also try some of their home cooked hogs pudding - it was so good we had to go back to buy a whole one to take home! The deli also sells great local cheeses and pasties. Really friendly staff, and they'll keep your purchases in the fridge for you if you are spending some more time in perranporth.

Delicious pasties of all types and small portions deli, great for eating on beach. Their apple pie portions are huge and scrumptious; brownies delicious too as well as locally made quiches for charity.

I cannot sing their praises loud enough. For years we have visited Perranporth on our holiday and this is the butchers I choose to get my meat, eggs, cheese and fresh pastries from to feed my hungry army... if I lived here I would shop here every day. Beautiful produce. The pasties are gorgeous and the huge slices of apple pie are absolutely heavenly like no apple pie we have ever had before or since... For as many years as I can remember I always buy my pasties at Chapmans also in the past I used to accompany my purchase with a scoop of their Cornish cream in a tub. ( in the old days I was taught to split the top of the pastie and insert a blob of clotted cream to make it pretty wonderful! Low fats diets preclude that delight these days! )
